Yeah the speech before and the king choosing to join his side was the best, I don't think anything tops it on the other two books even though I love them too

Lol my history is so bad at this point after 10 years of not paying attention that I thought Baelor was the king and not just a prince when I posted this. He is the heir tho, but I don't think he ever becomes king

Also I'm watching Alt Shift X's analyses on the episodes now @Kairi HoHo I highly recommend these. Very non-spoiler friendly, I used to watch these every Monday after Game of Thrones aired, I'm glad he's still going

I think the desperation the Targaryen's feel after the dragons die out is amazing political drama they can have play out on this show. Every tragedy is built around it, even Egg dying at summerhall when he's like 50

Yeah because they are been ruling on fear for ages and now they need to learn how to rule with their smarts and they don't know what to do. I was thinking the other day Baelor helping Dunk in the Trial of Seven is just not doing the right thing it's him helping the Targaryens respect amongst the people. The people hate them why not help one of the people to show the Targaryens are good people for sure was on Baelor's mind I thought.

Also the timeline is kind of crazy when you think about it. The dance of the dragons war from house of the dragon starts in like 130 AC (after Aegon's conquest) and the last dragons die out on like 160 and this show happens in like 220 I think? So basically no one alive even remembers dragons

Homie went out like a G. So fucking brutal and I needed it to be!

Some people might have a problem with them wanting to see more the Jousting vs us the audience seeing Dunk vs Aerion the majority of the fight with shots of the others fighting but I loved the decision to keep it to these two and how it was shot. Question was the stuff with Dunk and Rafe in the Book?

I'm not gonna lie during this Episode between Sir Arlan doing his own Mickey telling Dunk to get up or Egg doing the same this Episode had me crying and wanting me to run down the Street naked.

Nah the flashback is entirely invented for the most part. It's just mentioned Dunk had a friend named Rafe as a child in his own memories since you read from his own POV. I thought it was done well tho, all the flashbacks they've added that aren't in the books seem to mostly just to get some character development in that you're missing not getting the POV thoughts

I never had a great idea of Ser Arlan from the books bc Dunk seems to only remember what he wants to, but IMO this show version is now pure canon lol I love him. It's perfect for Dunk's story, nothing can be perfect

Baelor's death haunts Dunk for awhile too. He obviously feels responsible but then he can't help thinking how good of a king the guy would have been and he died just for Dunk, it's crazy to him
