I'm curious if season 2 they go right into the second book or not bc the way this season ends you assume (like I did when I finished the first book) that the next adventure will be in Dorne bc that's where they're going, but the second book skips forward a year or so and what happens in Dorne is just talked about in one-liners and they're back in the regular areas

Well Egg did say they have great Puppet Shows in Dorne who knows maybe Tanselle is there. Question does Baelor's Son Valarr become anything in the Books or in History in general? He's upset of course his Dad is dead and he's wondering how is Dunk alive. I just wonder does he come into play ever again with Dunk and Egg?

The current king, Valarr, among other very important people all die. Book 2 starts with them discussing the devastation it left. The next king will be Aerys I, 2nd oldest of the 4 brothers including Baelor and Maekar

Fuck a Plague that could be extremely depressing seeing people die left and right but it happened in real life and I trust everyone involved to keep creating magic with Dunk and Egg. Just read up Prince Valarr after he dies his Cousin Daeron takes his Wife's hand and has a Daughter man these Targaryens

Yeah book 2 is a lot more grounded, nothing kingdom changing happens in Dunk's story. It's just a good knight adventure with some fun characters, I'm a little worried people will view it as a disappointment after this season lol. Then book 3 has another crazy historical thing that Dunk gets involved in tho

Oh yeah let's talk about this scene too bc I saw people crazy misunderstanding IMO last night on the reddit live thread lol

Like clearly you're meant to think it's the reveal that Dunk was never actually knighted (as if they didn't already tells us that in a million ways lol) bc Arlan dies right after Dunk asks the question. And maybe this is just me being overly romantic, but I think the punchline from that picture wasn't just a joke, but meant to keep it unsure if he did it or not. Bc to me "a true knight always finishes his story" heavily implies he was about to finish his story by knighting Dunk. I still don't think he did, but I thought that line was such a good way to keep the ambiguity up until I saw everyone acting like it just confirmed he never knighted Dunk lol

That story also answered a 15 year old question from the books since that scene was invented for the show....why the fuck are there so many pennies on the tree?

Did you see the Penny it was the Seven pointed Star/The Faith of the Seven the attention to detail and it's meaning just wow. Raymun though he might the biggest winner of them all.

Like for example, I have a distinct memory of it being ambiguous how much Maekar is okay with Egg leaving with Dunk. I thought Maekar agreed but then after Egg left, one of the last lines in the book is him saying "the hedge knight has abducted my son" or something which I interpreted as him just needing to save face bc everyone would call him an idiot for leaving his son to Dunk. But it could just mean his a liar as well, BUT I think I may have just made all that up bc everyone on reddit is acting like the ending with Maekar was a big change from the book lol so either they're all wrong or I'm mandela effected af lmao

You would think Maekar after seeing one of his Sons attempt to kill the other he would be alright take care of him and raise him the right way. That is the normal way of thinking but nope not in this World.

Oh my God the guy from Alien Earth he was amazing in that Series imo. Happy to see him getting involved in this!

I don't really remember Ser Bennis that well but the other two are the major characters of the second book (outside of Dunk and Egg obviously) and I think that's good casting. I recently got my copy of all 3 books in the mail so no better time to read than now
