A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

12 Days before my Birthday hell yeah! Just when House of Dragons started I didn't want to read anything till last Season wondering where might the Story take me. I'll be doing the same with this no doubt I can feel I'm going to love the hell of of this as well.​

Cant watch the trailer rn, is this Dunk and Egg?

3 great shorter stories, 7 were planned but he won't finish them just like the main series not sure if he's still operating on that or not

I liked what I saw in the Trailer. A little bit of Comedy is good just don't overdo it like James Gunn did in Superman and Peacemaker Season 2 way too much at times. I still think what I love with HOTD and GOT is there for me to enjoy the hell out of this.

Man this looks so damn good. I'm already getting behind the Story of Sir Duncan and wanting to see him succeed. I wonder where this goes with the little kid Egg I wonder if we ever hear of what he does in this World because I have no clue.

GRRM has already spoiled the base of the entire story with his history books it's just the how and why we don't actually know

from memory so might get a bit of this wrong:

Egg is Aegon the V, a 4th son or so of the current king but due to a plague his family is pretty wiped out and he eventually becomes king with his loyal night Ser Duncan as his Kingsguard. They are then killed in the tragedy of Somerhall (I believe this is the name, unsure) years after the events of the Dunk and Egg books that have came out so far. It's a big mystery and the books were going to eventually get there to explain what happened, but they were trying to do some weird magic shit to hatch dragon eggs since all the dragons died and everyone ended up burned to death or something

Also for reference, these events take place much later than the other spinoff show with the Targaryen rivalries and stuff, it's closer to Game of thrones time, maybe 70-100 years prior

I thought the first Episode was very good Sir Duncan is one of those Characters who is not confident with himself. He often is awkward around people and he comes from nothing. I think people will get behind his path to being a Knight and creating his own greatness. Egg and Duncan have already have good chemistry with each other I can't wait for the day he finds out where Egg comes from.

Did they show Dunk being knighted by the old guy like as a flashback before he died or did he just say the guy knighted him?

It's a theory in the books he's lying the whole time bc he really wants to be a knight but technically isn't and only he knows and that plays into his insecurities

Yeah us the Audience know he's lying he said Ser Arlan of Pennytree wanted him to be a Knight and then we see a Flashback of Dunk as a kid and wanting to be a Knight talking to the old man and he's ignoring him

Dunk said he Knighted him pretty much before Ser Arlan died but looking at the many shots of him slapping and punching Dunk I doubt that is true for sure.

Yeah that's basically how it comes across in the book, you just never know if the show then goes and shows it or not lol

I continue to be confused on what type of guy Dunk's Master was to him after watching Episode 2. One moment he's telling Stories of him being a good person and a Episode before it was the opposite and by the end he's talking about how hard he was on him but he treated him like family and kept him as such. Dunk is officially allowed into the Tourney after Baelor Targaryen remembers Dunk's Master and vouches for him because of course their needs to be one good Targaryen with the bunch of crazy ones being born. Theirs a moment after the first amount of battles starts at night to where Dunk is realizing where he is in his life. He has nothing and no legacy but he wants to prove all the training he went through will come to pass a really touching Scene to end the Episode that got to me. I feel that same way at times in my life so I felt him hard in those moments.

I would say A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms might be easier to watch for a new viewer especially since the Episodes are way shorter. 30-42 mins around the time of each Episode and it breezes by at times. Episode 3 this Sunday could be the best of the Season so far is my prediction.

I’ll always take advice from you as you know what’s good on TV. I’m going to watch it soon as I finish Mobland .

I sure did like House of the Dragon and can't wait for the newest Season to come in 2026. I love all the pettiness, the drama, the Action that goes along with this World. A Knight of the Seven Kingoms is 80-90 Years before the first Episode of Game of Thrones.
