|
Our show opens with a video package which details the events of the previous weeks show. This begins with the Welsh Dragons winning the elimination series before we then see the destructive in ring debuts of Blair Davenport and Rezar. After this we'd see the Selfish Generation overwhelming Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate before finally the video would focus on Tegan Nox's farewell to the WWE UK brand. With that this week's show would officially open from inside the BT Sport studio before a lively audience. Our commentary team of Wade Barrett and John Gooden would hype up the crowd before sending us to ring for our first contest. |
MATCH 1: SINGLES MATCH (Referee: Darryl Sharma) TOMMY BILLINGTON VS. STEVEN REGAL W/NIGEL MCGUINNESS To open up the show we'd see two generational talents do battle as Steven Regal took on Tommy Billington. This bout between two rising young prospects would see a clash of styles as Steven Regal looked to ground and dissect his much faster and high flying opponent. A short back and forth bout with some real spirited moments from Tommy Billington we'd see the young Tommy come close to an upset following a diving hurricanrana on Regal. A big counter by Steven however would be the difference maker as he was able to counter a hurricanrana attempt with a slingshot powerbomb before he'd land a running knee trembler to the side of Tommy's head for the three. Shepherd: And the winner of the match Steven Regal! The crowd boos as the announcement is made and Nigel McGuinness rolls into the ring. Quickly Nigel raises Steven's arm in the air while the official tends to Tommy. Walking out on the stage would be the WWE UK European Champion Gunther who nodded his head impressed with what he'd seen. |
~DUNGEON BORN ~ A pretaped vignette then plays and it focuses on Harry Smith training at the Hart Dungeon. This is all under the watchful eye of Tyson Kidd, Natalya and Bret Hart. Training in the ring with Harry is Brian Pillman Jr while Bret has them run several drills. As the duo take a breather, Bret talks with his nephew and says to Harry that his father would be proud of the man he has become. Saying he is proud of Harry looking to forge his own identity, Bret further goes on to say that he admires Harry for saying enough is enough to Gunther and the disrespect he was showing the belt his father made famous. With that Bret wishes his nephew the best come Showcase X. |
~ RETENTION ~ The cameras then take us to the locker room area where Aussie Open are standing by. Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis are holding their titles proudly while Fletcher loudly boasts that they are the greatest tag team in wrestling today. Turning their focus onto their title defense at the UK Showcase Event, Mark Davis says that they have a lot of respect for the Welsh Dragons. Calling them a worthy tag team to face at the Showcase, Aussie Open closes this promo by saying that despite that respect they know the result at Showcase X will be no different than their other defenses. |
MATCH #2: SINGLES MATCH (Referee: Tate Mayfairs) REZAR VS. JACK BANDICOOT The second bout of the night would see Rezar in his second match as part of the WWE UK Brand against Jack Bandicoot. Similar to his first match with this brand, this bout was a vicious and powerful showcase for Rezar. Throwing Jack all across the ring, Rezar seemingly had this bout won from the very first powerful clothesline he landed onto Bandicoot. After a vicious overhead choke suplex which launched Bandicoot across the ring, Rezar would then deadlift Bandicoot from the canvas and into the air before hitting a thrust spinebuster for the win. Shepherd: And the winner of the match Rezar! The crowd boos as the announcement is made and yet despite the win once again just like last week Rezar would snatch his opponent by the throat and hoist him in the air before gorilla pressing him out of the ring for a nasty spill. The official would rush to tend on Jack while Rezar stormed to the back. |
~ FADE ~ The cameras then rush to a commotion backstage where a brawl is taking place between Aleister Black and Finn Balor in the parking lot. With Balor on offense following a headbutt and a vicious series of forearms which back Black against a pick up truck. Several guards rush onto the scene only to be thrown aside by Balor, this interception however allows Aleister Black to spit a black mist right in the eyes of Finn Balor. With Balor blinded from this mist, Black follows up with a black mass kick right to the jaw knocking Balor out! With Balor down, Black calmly sits beside Balor as more security and officials rush onto the scene. |
~ NEW BEGINNINGS ~ From here the cameras divert to the locker room where Ashton Smith and Oro Mensah are standing by. With their match against Ensanglante set to take part next week, this duo talk about their upcoming match. As they talk about the match it is clear that these two are polar opposites with a vengeful Ashton Smith fully focused on the task at hand while a more distracted Mensah is focused on the after party. This doesn't sit well with Ashton who tells him to focus on the match and worry about all that stuff after before he storms out of the locker room. |
MATCH #3: TAG TEAM MATCH (Referee: Oscar Harding) TEAM WHITEWOLF VS. AMIR JORDAN AND TUCKER Tag team action would be the next port of call for the evening as Team Whitewolf took on the pair of Amir Jordan and Tucker. This would be a fast paced tag team match with both teams soaring all across the ring much to the delight of the fans in attendance. Looking to put their differences aside Carlos Romo and Axiom really seemed to get on the same page in this bout as they banded together with some impressive double team moves. This culminated with a total elimination combination on Tucker which was enough for Axiom and Romo to win. Shepherd: And the winners of the match team Whitewolf! The crowd cheers as the announcement is made and Carlos Romo takes a knee in the ring. Joined by Axiom this pair have their arms raised in the air before shaking hands and hugging one another. |
~ REVENGE ~ The cameras then return us to the hall, here we see Giovanni Vinci is standing by with Joanna Rose. As Vinci begins to discuss his match with Michael Oku at Showcase X, he is surprised by the arrival of Amira. Saying that despite Vinci's efforts he cannot keep her down and that she will be ringside to watch Oku beat him at Showcase x. Amira then surprisingly follows up with a hard slap to the face of Vinci, this infuriates Vinci who chases her down the hall towards the locker room. But as he nears the locker room a chair is thrown at him by Michael Oku! Vinci hits the ground with a thud while Amira smiles, as Vinci rolls onto his stomach and takes a knee, Oku lands a big superkick knocking Vinci to the ground once more before walking down the hall. |
~ POISON PICKER ~ From here we are directed to the General Manager's office where Millie McKenzie is standing by. Being put in charge of the pick your poison challenge this week, Millie is all smiles as she says that in the first of three matches tonight, Pete Dunne will face a former foe in Doug Williams. After that Millie happily confirms that in a first ever meeting which will be a treat for the fans Tyler Bate will take on Adam Brooks. Finally when it came to Trent Seven, Millie would smile even more as she says that tonight Trent Seven will compete in the very first fans revenge lumberjack match where select members of the crowd would be armed with leather straps and his opponent would be... Millie McKenzie! |
MATCH #4: SINGLES MATCH (Referee: Chris Hatch) NATHAN CRUZ W/KATHERINE DARCY AND CURT HAWKINS VS. JAY JOSHUA The fourth bout of the night would see Nathan Cruz looking to right the ship of his career as he took on the bruising Jay Joshua. It would seem in the early going that Nathan Cruz had underestimated his opponent as Joshua would not only clobber Cruz with some heavy shots but also throw Cruz across the canvas on several occasions. Looking to aid Cruz we'd see Hawkins climb onto the apron to provide a distraction but he'd be swiftly knocked off, this distraction however would pay dividends as Cruz managed to connect with a big superkick to the jaw of Joshua. With Joshua stunned, Cruz followed up with a leaping reverse STO for the win. Shepherd: and the winner of the match Nathan Cruz! The crowd jeers as the announcement is made and Nathan Cruz rises to his feet. With a smug smirk on his face, Cruz has his arm raised in the air while Katherine and Hawkins applaud him. |
~ ACE HIGH ~ The screens then play pre show footage from earlier today as we see a confrontation which took place between the Foreign Legion and the Smoking Aces. Speaking for his team Ludwig Kaiser makes it clear that the Foreign Legion holds the Smoking Aces fully responsible for Amale's injury. In response to this, the Aces are unapologetic and instead mock the Legion for not being tough enough to be in the business. In response to this, the Legion challenge the Aces to a tag match for next week which Danny Burch accepts on behalf of his team. |
~ FIRST IMPRESSION ~ Following his defeat earlier in the night Tommy Billington is making his leave from the building. As he walks through the hall however, he is surprised by the arrival of Nigel McGuiness. Seeking to put Tommy at ease, Nigel says that he wanted to tell Tommy that they was impressed with his efforts tonight against Regal. This is why the Ring General wants to offer him an opportunity next week. Billington appears hesitant when Nigel in turn offers him a title match with Gunther for the WWE European Championship for next week. Without hesitating Tommy accepts this challenge. |
MATCH #5: SINGLES MATCH (Referee: Giulia Luchessi) PETE DUNNE VS. DOUG WILLIAMS Match one of three Pick your poison matches would be the next port of call. In a clash of old adversaries Pete Dunne would take on UK wrestling icon Doug Williams. Unlike their previous battles, this battle would get off to a more respectful start. In a bout which featured a lot of chain wrestling and submission holds, we'd see both men put one another in a variety of holds. With this contest turning into a chess match it would be one well timed counter by Dunne who managed to clamp on a kimura hold for a submission. Shepherd: And the winner of the match Pete Dunne! Releasing the hold, Pete Dunne would pop to his feet to a loud cheer from the crowd. After getting his arm raised by the official, Dunne would walk over to Doug Williams who was seated in the corner. In a surprising show of respect Dunne would help Doug to his feet before the two would shake hands. |
~ WEAKNESS ~ A pre taped promo then plays focusing on Stevie Turner. Filled with flashing lights and futuristic music, this promo would have the arrogant Turner boast proudly about being undefeated since coming to WWE UK. Saying that her scanner has shown her not just the power levels of everyone she has encountered so far but also their weaknesses. Stevie says that it is clear to her that there is not a woman on this roster so far that is even close to her level. Saying she is a woman of her word, Turner makes it clear that she will prove this fact next week when she beats Santana Garrett. |
~ NOT THIS ~ The cameras then take us to the hallway of the building where Laura Di Matteo is walking towards the locker room. As she does so, Laura makes a beeline and approaches Mercedez Blaze. Blaze stares at Laura coldly as Laura begins to talk about Blaze and Kanji's match next week. Remarking that this is not what she wanted at all from Blaze and Kanji, Laura says all she can hope is with this match between the pair that they hope the duo can put their differences aside and be on the same page. In response to this Blaze shakes her head and walks off down the hall. |
MATCH #6: SINGLES MATCH (Referee: Sandy Beeches) TYLER BATE VS. ADAM BROOKS The second pick your poison bout would be up next and we'd see a first time clash between Tyler Bate and Adam Brooks. This bout would be a spirited, fast paced clash with both Bate and Brooks flying across the ring. During this contest both men would have their moments, including Brooks busting out a Dudley dog for a very close near fall. Following several minutes of back and forth action, we would see Tyler Bate manage to pick up the victory following a big punch to the jaw which stunned Adam and allowed him to connect with the Tyler Driver for the three. Shepherd: And the winner of the match Tyler Bate! The crowd cheers as the announcement is made and Tyler Bate climbs to his feet in the ring. As Bate gets his arm raised in the air we see a dejected Brooks roll out to the floor. |
~ UNIONIZE ~ Having heard the news of his match for later this evening, a visibly frustrated Trent Seven walks through the hall. As he does so Seven comes to a stop when he sees the Selfish Generation walking through the building. Seeking to recruit the group to his side, Seven calls their work last week tremendous and makes it clear that united they can achieve a lot more as long as they have his back tonight. In response to this Zack Gibson on behalf of the group makes it clear that the Selfish Generation don't need to make deals to get opportunities, that take what they want and what they don't want is to be subservient to a leech like Seven. |
~ POTENTIAL ~ Fresh off his victory this evening Nathan Cruz walks through the hall towards his locker room. As he does so he is surprised however by the appearance of Spike Trivet. The WWE UK Champion does not seem particularly impressed as he says that Cruz's win tonight is nothing to be proud of. Asking what Spike wants from him, Nathan watches on as Spike says there is nothing more frustrating then a waste of potential. With that the WWE UK Champion walks off down the hall while Nathan Cruz watches on and shakes his head. |
MATCH #7: SINGLES MATCH (Referee: Artemis Ortygie) BLAIR DAVENPORT VS. CHANTAL JORDAN The seventh bout of the night would be Blair Davenport's second singles match as part of the roster. Taking on a young prospect in Chantal Jordan, this bout once more would be a dominant showcase for Davenport who once again proved herself to not just be a dangerous competitor but also a highly sadistic one. Showing her willingness to dissect her opponents and target one limb after another, we'd see at one stage Davenport hit a vicious rope hung Dragon Screw which did a lot of damage to Jordan. It wouldn't be long after that Davenport finished this match with a Kamigoye knee strike. Shepherd: and the winner of the match Blair Davenport! The crowd boos as the announcement is made and yet once again despite being victorious Davenport is not done. Pouncing on Jordan with a series of elbow strikes, Davenport backs up and begins to line up Jordan for a stomp. However before Davenport can do this, Mariah May hits the ring! To cheers from the crowd May connects with several punches to Davenport and a big forearm strike which sends Davenport stumbling to the floor. A livid Davenport backs up the ramp while May waves her on. |
~ DRAGONS ~ The cameras then take us to the locker room area where Ilja Dragunov is standing by. Dragunov is a humble but confident figure as he talks about his bout with Kassius Ohno at Showcase X. Saying this is a match he has long coveted as he knows Ohno's skill and capabilities. Calling this the kind of fight with honor he has truly longed for, Ilja Dragunov makes it clear that this bout will bring the best out of him and he is confident that following this battle he will leave Showcase X as the brand new Commonwealth Champion. |
~ MY MOMENT ~ A special backstage interview is then played and it features Joanna Rose standing by along with Simon Miller. Miller is overjoyed and unable to contain his excitement at competing as part of the Worlds Collide Gauntlet match. Saying that he is a lifelong fan of the business who is living proof about how you are never too old to achieve your dreams. Admitting that he knows he is a major underdog in this bout, however this only spurs him on and now he will enter the worlds collide gauntlet match knowing that he has nothing to lose and everything to gain! |
MATCH #8: FANS REVENGE MATCH (Referee: Chris Sharpe) TRENT SEVEN VS. MILLIE MCKENZIE The next match would be the third and final Pick your Poison match as Trent Seven battled former stablemate Millie McKenzie in a lumberjack match where several fans were positioned at ringside with leather straps. Despite having a size advantage we'd see quickly Trent would be caught off guard by an aggressive Millie. This would cause Seven to dip out the ring only to be lashed by several of the fans. This would be the story of the bout as when Millie left the ring she wasn't hit once but it seemed everyone was longing to take a piece of Seven. As the bout wore on we'd see Seven try and steal a belt from one of the fans at ringside. While the official tried to break this up Millie would look to hit a German suplex on Trent only for him to throw her into the ring post. From here Seven rolled up McKenzie with a handful of tights and feet on the bottom rope for good measure to steal the win. Shepherd: And the winner of the match Trent Seven! The crowd erupts into boos as the announcement is made and a smirking Seven rolls out to the floor. While Seven celebrates his win at ringside, in the ring a livid Millie McKenzie rolls to her knees and shouts to him that this isn't over. |
~ WISH GRANTED ~ Ahead of the main event, our cameras show Anthony Ogogo in his office prepping things for the WWE UK Championship contract signing. As he continues his work, Ogogo is surprised when walking into his office is Mariah May. May is fired up still from her earlier exchange with Blair Davenport earlier this evening, saying to Ogogo that something needs to be done about Davenport. Ogogo nods his head admitting that even he has been disgusted by her antics since coming to the WWE UK Brand. May then follows by demanding a match with her next week, in response to this Ogogo nods his head and grants her the match for next week. |
~ THE TECHNICAL SAVAGE ~ Cameron Grimes will be at Showcase X! |
MAIN EVENT: BRITISH BULLDOG TAG TEAM CLASSIC (Senior Official: THOMAS SCARBOROUGH) MAFIA BELLA (GIULIA AND THEKLA) VS. THE HOUSE OF COUTURE (LANA AUSTIN AND NINA SAMUELS) W/ELIZA ALEXANDER For the main event of the evening we would see our second British Bulldog Tag Team Classic semi final match as Mafia Bella took on the House of Couture. This would be a match of two halves as in the early going we had a fairly even back and forth tag team match. Yet as the bout wore on we saw Thekla's submission ability as well as Giulia's striking begin to make a difference. In response to this, The House of Couture would begin to take more short cuts and cheap shots when and if they could. This would prove a difference maker as Eliza Alexander struck Giulia with a bicycle knee from behind. This in turn would allow Lana Austin and Nina Samuels to finish Thekla with the touch of couture (gory bomb/diving cutter) combination. Shepherd: And the winners of the match The House of Couture! The crowd boos as the announcement is made and the House of Couture begin to celebrate their victory. As the duo of Nina and Lana stand tall in the ring, they are soon joined by Eliza Alexander who raises their arm proud in victory to more jeers. |
~ SIGNING ~ The cameras then take us to the General Manager's office for the contract signing of the WWE UK Championship match. With security in the room and Anthony Ogogo watching everything over we see this closed door affair only have Spike Trivet and Joe Hendry in the room also. Their eyes locked on one another and neither man is saying a word in what is uncharacteristic for the pair. After signing the contract first the champion storms out of the GM's office swinging the door wide open as he does so. An unimpressed Joe shakes his head and proceeds to do the same before turning to Ogogo. With a majority of the security escorting Spike out the room, Hendry shakes hands with Ogogo who nods to excuse the remaining guards. Hendry then goes to leave the room but on opening the door he is tackled by Ridge Holland. Before a stunned Ogogo can react Holland tries for a powerbomb on the office floor on Joe but Joe pops out and instead drives Holland through Ogogo's desk with a Hendry Bottom! The Show then comes to a close with Joe standing over Holland telling him he is coming for his boss. |
