Commentary Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore

Obi Femi stands in the ring

Obi Femi: “I am the Ruler… and I am the winner of the John Cena Last Opponent Tournament.
And John… this is the worst possible outcome for you.
But for me?
This is perfect.
Because now… I get to decide how your story ends.
You talk about respect… loyalty… legacy…
I’m going to make sure you don’t even get the chance to say goodbye.
At Saturday Night’s Main Event… I don’t just beat you—
I end you.
I will leave you laid out… carried away on a stretcher…
And when you’re gone?
That ‘Hustle, Loyalty, Respect’ era…
is gone forever.
Because this…
This is the beginning of the Ruler Era.
I am not the future…
I am the end of yours.”
Obi Femi drops the mic and smirks, slowly raising his arms as the crowd boos

Paul Heyman (calm, intrigued):

“Ohhh… Austin Theory…”
(smirks, steps closer)
You’re not just waiting… are you?”
(Theory pauses)
“You’re ‘The Vision’, aren’t you?
So why wait for AJ Styles…
when you can ruin AJ Styles?”
(Breakker cracks his knuckles, Sami watches closely)
Paul Heyman (quiet, dangerous):
“Go out there… make it about you.
Remind everyone exactly why no one should cross The Vision.”
Austin Theory (grinning):
…Yeah. I like that.”
“Tonight… I take my moment.”
Theory walks off confidently
Heyman smirks as the camera lingers

Then—

“Two weeks in a row…
No sign of CM Punk.
Ever since WarGames… when I pinned you.
You disappeared.
So here’s the question everybody’s asking—
January 5th…
Are you gonna defend that World Heavyweight Championship against me?
Or are you gonna do what you always do…

WWE SmackDown – 12 December 2025

1719074254432.png

Commentary: Michael Cole & Corey Graves
Nick Aldis:“I listened to Cody Rhodes’ request to lift Drew McIntyre’s ban… and I gave it serious consideration. I even spoke to Drew personally.
But here’s the truth—Drew McIntyre didn’t just want his ban lifted… he wanted control. Conditions, demands… things that compromise the integrity of this show.
And when I refused… Drew accused me of holding him back. Of stopping him from becoming Undisputed Champion.
Let me make one thing very clear—
I don’t care who you are… I don’t care how dominant you’ve been…
This show is built on fairness.
And until Drew McIntyre is willing to play by those rules…
His ban… stays in place.”

Cody Rhodes’ music hits
Cody walks to the ring, serious, focused.
Cody Rhodes: “You know what I wanna talk about?
Drew McIntyre.
Still banned. Still not here.
Drew… stop being difficult and let’s do this the right way. Let’s have that match.”
(Crowd reacts)
“You keep talking about this ‘new era’…
So go on—explain it to me.
Because from where I’m standing… this era is doing just fine.”
Cody holds up the title)
“I’ve been up since 5AM this morning—media, appearances… and yeah, I even took time to visit some sick kids.
That’s what a champion does.
So tell me… what’s Drew McIntyre been doing?
Sitting at home?
Posting on X?
Making demands he knows he’s never gonna get?”
(Crowd booing Drew)
And you think that’s the future?
I don’t.”
Interrupting Music
Ricky Saints comes to the ring, confident.
Ricky Saints: Cody… why are you wasting your time talking about Drew McIntyre?
Because standing right in front of you… is your future.”
Crowd reacts)
“I’m the NXT Champion now.
And that means tomorrow night at Saturday Night Main Event…
It’s you… versus me.
A match we’ve been waiting for since 2012.
Mentor… versus student.”
Steps closer)
So maybe—just maybe—
you should stop worrying about Drew…
And start worrying about me.”
Cody smiles.
Cody Rhodes: You’ve come a long way since 2012… and I mean that. I’m proud of you.
You went to NXT… you proved yourself… and now you’ve got gold.”
Crowd cheers)
“But tomorrow night?
I’m not your mentor anymore.
I’m the Undisputed Champion…
And I’m gonna kick your ass.”
Cody drops the mic.
Face-off
Intense staredown
Cody exits the ring
Ricky Saints stays… smiling… then starts laughing.

Drops Tama Tonga
Sends him over the top rope
Crowd pops
Carmelo helps Dragunov to his feet
Quick stare between them… respect, but tension

Jevon Evans is walking backstage when he’s stopped by The Miz, who looks him up and down, confused.
The Miz: “Hold on… hold on… I need to understand something.
What exactly qualifies you to compete at Saturday Night’s Main Event?
An event celebrating John Cena’s final run…”
Miz smirks)
“You weren’t even born when Cena made his debut.
I’ve been in this business as long as you’ve been alive…
And I don’t even get booked.
So tell me—what makes Jevon Evans better than The Miz?”
Jevon steps forward, unfazed.
Jevon Evans: “That’s easy.
I’m not living off what I did 10 years ago…
I’m what’s next.”
Crowd reaction)
“You wanna talk about relevance?
This is 2025.
And I’m the future of this company.”
Steps closer)
But hey… if you need a match tonight to remind yourself who you used to be…
I’ll give you one.
And I’ll show you exactly why I’m on Saturday Night’s Main Event… and you’re not.”
Miz smiles, but it’s that dangerous, annoyed smile.
The Miz: “Oh, I’d love that.
Because when I’m done with you…
You won’t be going anywhere near Saturday Night’s Main Event.”
Face-off
Tension
No physicality—just intensity

The screen glitches… lights dim
Bo Dallas appears, sitting in a rocking chair… slowly creaking back and forth.
Bo Dallas (calm, eerie): “Solo…
You said my family is dead.”
(Slight smile)
Those are harsh words…
But they don’t hurt me.”
Leans forward)
“What hurts… is truth.”
“See… you call yourself a leader…
But you’re a broken man.
Your brothers—Jey… Jimmy… they’ve walked away from you.”
“Roman took your Ula Fala…
And even Jacob… sees you for what you are.”
You surround yourself with outcasts…
And you pretend that makes you strong.”
Shakes head slowly)
It doesn’t.”
Bo pauses… rocking stops.
“This might come as a shock to you…
But we run Friday Night SmackDown now.”
(Holds up the titles)
“We are the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.”
“So if you really believe your family is stronger than ours…
Come find us.”
Screen cuts to black

“We’re not fighting on your time…
We’re fighting on our time.”
“Next week—
MFT vs Wyatt Sicks…
For the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.”
Solo steps forward, intense:
And when it’s over…
This won’t be your show anymore.”

Saturday Night’s Main Event

December 13, 2025

Commentary: Michael Cole & Wade Barrett

Stephanie McMahon appears on screen

Stephanie McMahon:

“Tonight… is a sad night for WWE.

Last night, the world watched John Cena stand in that ring… and for a moment, it felt like his career—his legacy—was hanging by a thread.

But I want to take you back… to late 2002.

My father was actually considering releasing him.

He hadn’t become a superstar yet… he was just another young talent trying to survive.

Then one night, I heard him rapping backstage.

There was something different about him… something special.

I told him, ‘Go show my dad.’

He did… and the rest is history.

That moment didn’t just save a career… it created the greatest of all time.

So John… after everything you’ve given to this business…

I truly hope you get the ending you deserve.

And when you step into the ring with Obi Femi…

I hope you remind the world… exactly who you are.”

They stand tall together as the segment ends

Kurt Angle appears on screen

Kurt Angle:

“In 2002… I issued an open challenge.

And a young rookie stepped up.

That rookie… was John Cena.

He pushed me to my limit that night.

Yeah, I won… but everybody watching knew something special had just happened.

A star was born.

And look at what you became, John…

A 17-time World Champion. One of the greatest to ever step inside that ring.

Honestly? I don’t think we’ll ever see anyone break your record.

So whatever happens next… just know this—

You’ve already cemented your legacy… as one of the all-time greats.”

Rhea Ripley vs Sol Ruca

The match is competitive early, but Rhea Ripley begins to take control with her power and aggression.

Sol Ruca fights from underneath, refusing to stay down and showing resilience against the dominant Ripley.

“2002… OVW.

That’s where it started.

Me and John Cena… we were the future. Two guys hungry to take over this business.

We both went on to have careers people will talk about forever.

I respect what we did in that ring.

So John… if this is it…

Go out there, handle your business… and beat Obi Femi.

Do it for them.”

Rob Van Dam appears on screen

Rob Van Dam:

“I remember the night you walked into my house… ECW.

The crowd didn’t want you there. They booed you out of the building.

But you stood your ground.

We fought for the WWE Championship… and yeah, I beat you that night.

But you earned my respect.

Not everyone could survive a night like that… but you did.”

Sheamus appears on screen

Sheamus:

“When I first came into this company… I was a nobody.

And somehow… I beat John Cena for the WWE Championship.

Truth is—I wasn’t ready.

But you know who helped me become ready?

John Cena.

You took me under your wing… you pushed me… you believed in me.

That’s something I’ll never forget.

You’ve always had my respect… and you always will.

You’re not just a legend…

You’re a lifelong friend.”

CM Punk appears on screen

CM Punk:

“When I came up from ECW to the main roster… I felt overlooked.

Meanwhile, John Cena was the guy.

I’ll be honest—I didn’t like it.

I thought you were the chosen one. The company guy. The golden boy.

But then we stepped into the ring together…

And you earned my respect.

Because no matter what anyone says… you showed up, every night, and you delivered.

So yeah… WWE’s losing a massive star.

And replacing John Cena?

That’s not happening.”

The Rock appears on screen

The Rock:

“The Rock’s not gonna lie…

He couldn’t stand John Cena.

You ran your mouth, you called The Rock out… said he walked away from WWE to become a movie star.

And yeah… that didn’t sit right with The Rock.

But then something happened…

The Rock got to know you.

And he realised—you weren’t just talking… you were carrying this company on your back.

Week after week. Year after year.

We went to war… and somewhere along the way… we became brothers.

So John…

Enjoy your retirement.

And before you go—

Go out there… and lay the smackdown on Obi Femi.”

But there was one man who pushed for me to be a main event player here… and that was John Cena.

We had some great matches… matches people are always going to remember.

And I’ll never forget what you did for me.

You always had my respect… and you always will.

You’re not just a rival…

You’re my friend.

Have a good retirement, John.”

Cody Rhodes appears on screen

Cody Rhodes:

“When I came back to WWE… it was so we could have that match together.

It wasn’t easy… but it happened.

And in that match, you made history against me… becoming a 17-time World Champion.

I hope I can build a legacy that even comes close to yours.

But now… the moment is here.

Your final match.

Go out there… and give these fans a night they will never forget.”

Obi Femi vs John Cena

The main event is physical from the opening bell, with Cena using experience and resilience, while Obi Femi relies on raw power and aggression.

Bron Breakker interrupts.

Bron Breakker:

“I don’t give a damn about this masked man. I want to know—is CM Punk here tonight?”

CM Punk comes to the ring, laughing

CM Punk:

“I’ve been accused of hiding from Bron Breakker…

I haven’t heard that much bullshit in a long time.

The reason I haven’t been here for two weeks? I’ve been resting.

Something a man in my position can do… a level you haven’t reached yet, Bron.

You’re not famous because you’re great…

You’re famous because you’re Rick Steiner’s son… or Paul Heyman’s latest project.

You only beat me because of that masked man.

And when I find out who he is… you’re both getting it.

Paul’s really got you believing you can beat CM Punk?

That just makes you a dumbass.

That’s Paul’s job—hype people up… right before they fall.

But if you’re serious…

I will defend my World Heavyweight Championship against you on January 5th.

And when I’m done with you…

Five years from now, people will ask—

I want to thank you for what you have done in this company over the last 25 years.

I hope you enjoy your retirement.

Let’s talk about Finn Bálor.

I want to thank Rhea Ripley for helping me beat Rusev and Lana last week on SmackDown.

It felt like old times, Rhea. Hopefully we can do this again in the future.

In 2026, I hope to win the Royal Rumble and headline WrestleMania.”

Rusev’s music hits

Lana comes out.

Lana:
“Finn, you’re pathetic. You had Rhea fighting your battles.

You’re in dreamland. You won’t win the Royal Rumble and you won’t make WrestleMania.”

Rusev attacks Finn Bálor.

Backstage Interview

Byron Saxton interviews Nick Aldis.

Byron Saxton:
“What are your thoughts on Cody Rhodes’ actions at the Performance Centre?”

Nick Aldis:
“This rivalry between Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes has been very stressful to deal with.

I thought dealing with Drew’s demands and sneaky attacks was bad enough.

Now Cody has made my job very difficult.”

Nick Aldis walks off.

Wyatt Sicks Video

Bo Dallas appears on screen, rocking on a chair with the Wyatt Sicks.

Bo Dallas:

I am going to guide my family to victory over yours tonight.

Freaks will dominate the Samoans.”

Bo Dallas laughs.

Cody Rhodes’ music hits

Cody Rhodes comes to the ring looking serious.

Cody Rhodes:
“Since 2012, I have wanted to wrestle my good friend Ricky Saints in WWE.

I had that opportunity at Saturday Night Main Event.

I wanted to give the audience a classic, but Drew McIntyre spoiled it.

I heard Drew was training at the Performance Centre, so I paid him a visit.

This is what happens when Nick Aldis refuses to lift Drew McIntyre’s ban.”

Nick Aldis appears

Nick Aldis:
“Cody, I told you Drew has been making crazy demands behind the scenes to lift his ban, and I wasn’t doing it.
You went behind my back and sorted it out yourself.
That’s not how things work on SmackDown.”

Cody Rhodes:
“The WWE Universe wants you to lift Drew’s ban.
They want a proper winner in our feud.
You’re making things difficult for me and Drew.”
Nick Aldis:
“I’m going to do what’s right for SmackDown.
And for your actions, you are fined one week’s wages.”
Cody Rhodes:
“I’m not bothered.
I’ll keep doing this until I get my match with Drew McIntyre.”
Cody drops the mic and leaves.
Nick Aldis looks angry.

Backstage segment

Logan Paul is standing backstage, pacing slightly. Paul Heyman approaches him, looking intrigued.

Paul Heyman:

Logan… I have to admit, I’m confused.

Why the mask?

And why… are you helping The Vision?

Logan Paul:

(confident, irritated)

You wanna know why? I’m sick of the disrespect.

People like us built this place into what it is right now.

I’m the reason we’re on Netflix… my name is on the damn ring mat…

and what do I get? Nothing. No World Heavyweight Championship. No recognition.

Meanwhile, CM Punk runs his mouth on podcasts, trashes us…

and gets rewarded for it.

(shakes head)

Guys like AJ Styles keep stealing the spotlight—

while the future gets ignored.

I’m talking about Bron Breakker…

Sami Zayn…

Austin Theory…

They should be leading this company.

(pauses, smirks)

So yeah… if working with The Vision is what it takes to fix WWE—

then that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.

Heyman slowly smiles, clearly intrigued by what he’s hearing.

Rhea Ripley vs Asuka

After a hard-hitting back-and-forth match, Asuka locks in the Asuka Lock, but Rhea powers out. Rhea counters a strike, hits the Riptide, and pins Asuka for the win.

Rhea Ripley stands tall as the crowd reacts.

RAW – Locker Room Segment (The Vision)

Sami Zayn: I don’t like this. We don’t even know if we can trust Logan Paul. This isn’t some influencer group—this is our vision.

Paul Heyman: Sami… Logan Paul is the biggest mainstream star in this company. A man who has been denied his rightful place at the top.
While people like AJ Styles and CM Punk cling to the spotlight…
Logan Paul represents the future.
Tonight—you team with Logan Paul.
You face CM Punk and AJ Styles.
If you win… Logan Paul joins The Vision.
If you lose… he’s out.
(Paul Heyman leaves the room)
Sami Zayn: This is a mistake…
Bron Breakker:No… this is pressure. Either he proves himself—or he’s gone.
Austin Theory:
Guess we’ll find out if your boy Logan’s actually worth the hype.
(Sami looks frustrated as the tension builds)

Jevon Evans vs JD McDonagh
JD McDonagh targets the arm early, trying to slow Evans down. Jevon fights back with speed, hitting quick strikes and high-impact offense.
JD goes for a finisher, but Evans counters, hits a fast-paced combination, and connects with his finisher to pin JD McDonagh for the win.
Jevon Evans celebrates as the crowd reacts to the impressive victory.

Cathy Kelley interviews Bronson Reed and Randy Orton
Cathy Kelley: How do you both feel about defending your Raw Tag Team Championships against The Usos next week on Monday Night Raw?
Randy Orton: You know, Cathy… as my good friend Ric Flair used to say—

to be the best, you’ve got to beat the best.

And The Usos? They’ve been the standard for a long time…

but standards fall when they step in the ring with us.

Bronson Reed: I don’t care who it is.

I’m ready for any team that wants to fight us.

And beating a team like The Usos… that’s not just a win—that’s a career highlight.

We’re not giving up these titles.

Bron Breakker appears on screen

Bron Breakker: Finally… CM Punk comes out of hiding.

You said I’ll be forgotten in five years…

Punk, you won’t even last five weeks after what I do to you.

January 5… I’m not just beating you.

I’m finishing you.

One… two… three.

And when it’s over, you won’t be remembered as a legend…

you’ll be remembered as the guy who got ended by Bron Breakker.

You don’t understand what you’re stepping into.

Bron

Sami Zayn is in the locker room. Logan Paul walks in.

Sami Zayn:

Tonight, you listen to me in that ring.

If you follow my plan, we beat CM Punk and AJ Styles… and then you earn your place in The Vision.

Logan Paul:

(laughs, cocky)

Listen to you?

I’m the biggest star on this roster.

And Sami… I don’t need to earn anything.

I’m already part of The Vision.

Logan smirks and walks off.

Sami Zayn:

(under his breath, frustrated)

This is going to be a problem…

Obi Femi walks cockily to the ring.

Obi Femi:

Life is good… because I have retired John Cena.

I’ve upset R-Truth, Sheamus, and AJ Styles… all because they couldn’t accept that their “hero” is gone.

The Ruler Era has begun.

Some people can’t handle change… but I don’t care.

AJ Styles’s music hits.

AJ walks to the ring and stands face-to-face with Obi Femi.

Staredown.

Obi Femi smirks… then slowly backs away, laughing.

AJ Styles looks frustrated in the ring

Commercial Break

AJ Styles & CM Punk vs Logan Paul & Sami Zayn

Late in the match, chaos breaks down.

Logan Paul capitalises on the chaos, hitting a sudden strike and pinning AJ Styles for the win.

Logan Paul and Sami Zayn continue the assault on AJ Styles after the bell.

CM Punk fights back—GTS to Logan Paul… GTS to Sami Zayn!

The crowd erupts—

BUT Bron Breakker storms in and SPEARS CM Punk!

Bron Breakker stands over Punk and slowly lifts the World Heavyweight Championship above his head.

Raw goes off the air.

Nick Aldis’ Office

Cody Rhodes walks in, serious and focused.

Cody Rhodes:

“I want Drew McIntyre for my Undisputed WWE Championship. When do I get him?”

Nick Aldis:

“I spoke to Drew McIntyre this week. And your attack at the Performance Center? It changed things.”

Cody listens, arms folded.

Nick Aldis:

“Drew’s dropped all his demands. But there’s one condition.”

Cody Rhodes:

“Say it.”

Nick Aldis:

“If Drew walks out tonight… and apologises to everyone he’s taken out—staff, officials, superstars—he gets his title match.”

Cody doesn’t look convinced.

Cody Rhodes:

“That’s it?”

Nick Aldis (firm):

“No. If he does… he gets his shot at your Undisputed WWE Championship.”

Pause.

Nick Aldis (measured):

“And he chooses the stipulation.”

Cody’s expression tightens.

Cody Rhodes:

“You’re giving him control?”

Nick Aldis:

“I’m giving him an opportunity. What he does with it is up to him.”

Cody stares for a moment, then nods slightly before walking out.

Street Fight

R-Truth vs The Miz

No rules, no count-outs—anything goes.

The match quickly spills to the outside as R-Truth brings the fight early, using kendo sticks and throwing The Miz into the barricade. Miz fights back, launching Truth into the steel steps and grabbing a chair to take control.

Back in the ring, chaos continues. Miz sets up for a Skull Crushing Finale onto a chair—but Truth escapes at the last second.

R-Truth fires back with quick strikes, hits a jumping clothesline, and follows up with a Lie Detector.

1… 2… 3!

R-Truth pinfalls The Miz for the win.

R-Truth celebrates, hyping up the crowd, while The Miz rolls out of the ring frustrated

Carmelo Hayes approaches Ilja Dragunov, who has the United States Championship over his shoulder.

Ilja Dragunov:

“Carmelo… you have my respect. You stood with me against Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa. You fought like a warrior. Tell me… how can I repay you?”

Carmelo smirks slightly.

Carmelo Hayes:

“Oh, I’m gonna keep it real simple…”

He looks directly at the United States Championship.

Carmelo Hayes:

“I want that. And I want it tonight.”

Ilja doesn’t respond straight away. He studies Carmelo, intense.

Ilja Dragunov:

“You do not ask for a favour… you ask for war.”

Pause.

Ilja Dragunov (firm):

“I accept.”

They step closer, face-to-face, tension rising.

Carmelo Hayes (quiet confidence):

“Then let’s see if you can keep up.”

They stare each other down as the moment hangs.

Drew McIntyre is walking through the arena when he’s stopped by Cathy Kelley.

Cathy Kelley:

“Drew, earlier tonight, it was announced that if you apologise to everyone you’ve hurt… you’ll get a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship. The question is—will you do it?”

Drew pauses… then starts to laugh.

Drew McIntyre:

“An apology?”

He shakes his head, smirking.

Drew McIntyre:

“You’ll just have to stay tuned… won’t you?”

Drew stares for a second longer, then walks off smiling as Cathy watches on

Rusev appears on screen alongside Lana.

Rusev:

“Finn Bálor thinks this is over… that he moved on from me.”

Rusev shakes his head.

Rusev:

“Wrong mindset.”

He leans closer to the camera, more intense.

Rusev:

“You’re not winning the Royal Rumble. You’re not headlining WrestleMania. Not in 2026… not ever… not while I decide otherwise.”

Pause.

Rusev (cold):

“This isn’t finished. I decide when it’s finished.”

Rusev and Lana smirk before laughing as the screen fades.

Nick Aldis’ Office

Nick Aldis is sitting in his office with Trick Williams.

Nick Aldis:

“I see your NXT contract is up soon. What are your plans next?”

Trick Williams smiles, relaxed but confident.

Trick Williams:

“I go where the best deal is. Could be Raw… could be SmackDown… could be anywhere. TNA, AEW—doesn’t matter.”

“I’m the hottest free agent in the world right now. I’m just listening.”

Suddenly the door swings open.

Cody Rhodes walks in, serious and focused.

Cody Rhodes:

“Drew’s here. I want to know—has he apologised yet?”

Trick Williams looks annoyed at the interruption.

Trick Williams:

“Who do you think you are, interrupting Trick Williams’ business?”

He steps closer to Cody.

Trick Williams:

“You better hope I don’t end up on SmackDown… because I’d take that championship off you just for the disrespect.”

Stare down.

Trick shakes his head, then walks out.

Nick Aldis exhales, turning to Cody.

Nick Aldis:

“Your situation will be resolved tonight. Now, please leave my office.”

Cody stares at Aldis, clearly frustrated, then slowly exits.

Solo Sikoa appears on screen, calm but intense.

Solo Sikoa:

“Bo Dallas says I’m recruiting outcasts for MFT?”

He shakes his head.

Solo Sikoa:

“Wrong.”

“MFT is not a group of outsiders… it’s blood. Family. Loyalty.”

His tone sharpens.

Solo Sikoa:

“And the so-called ‘Wyatt Sicks’… they’re nothing like us. Just lost souls being manipulated.”

“Bo Dallas didn’t build them… he brainwashed them.”

Solo leans in closer.

Solo Sikoa:

“You got lucky last time you faced MFT.”

“But next time… it won’t be luck that decides it.”

“I’ve got the whole world in my hands now.”

Solo smirks, then lets out a mocking laugh, echoing the eerie tone of Bray Wyatt before the screen fades.

United States Championship Match

Ilja Dragunov (c) vs Carmelo Hayes

The match is hard-hitting from the start—Ilja brings brutal strikes and relentless pressure, while Melo counters with speed, agility, and sharp counters.

Ilja nearly retains after a devastating powerbomb, but Carmelo kicks out at the last second, shocking the crowd.

Melo begins to shift momentum, landing a series of fast strikes and a springboard attack that finally slows Ilja down.

Ilja fights back with intensity, but Carmelo catches him mid-charge and hits his finisher.

1… 2… 3!

Carmelo Hayes wins and becomes the new United States Champion.

After the match, both men are exhausted. Ilja Dragunov slowly gets back to his feet and offers a handshake.

Carmelo hesitates… then accepts.

They shake hands in the centre of the ring as respect is shown between them.

Melo then raises the United States Championship and celebrates his victory as Ilja exits the ring to a respectful ovation.

Commercial Break

Carmelo Hayes is with Cathy Kelley, still recovering from his title win.

Cathy Kelley:

“Carmelo, you just became the new United States Champion. How does it feel?”

Carmelo starts to answer—

He is suddenly BLINDSIDED from behind.

Kit Wilson attacks Carmelo Hayes!

Kit stomps on Carmelo and grabs the United States Championship from nearby.

Kit Wilson:

“This is what I’m coming for.”

He holds the title up for a moment… then looks at Carmelo and simply drops it onto him.

Cathy Kelley backs away, clearly nervous, as Kit leans down and stares at Carmelo.

Kit then walks off without saying another word.

Carmelo is left down as Cathy checks on him, shaken.

Drew McIntyre is in the ring, looking serious.

Nick Aldis and the referee Drew previously attacked are also in the ring.

Nick Aldis:

“Drew, things between you and Cody Rhodes have gotten out of hand. You were given an opportunity tonight to fix that.”

“If you deliver on what you promised… you will receive an Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes.”

“And you will choose the stipulation.”

Drew nods slowly.

Drew McIntyre:

“You’re right, Nick… it has gotten out of hand.”

“I want to say this clearly… I do feel bad for my actions.”

He turns to the referee.

Drew McIntyre:

“I’m sorry for what I did to you. I hope I didn’t cause you any lasting harm.”

Drew extends his hand.

The referee hesitates… then shakes it.

Nick Aldis nods, satisfied.

Nick Aldis:

“Drew McIntyre… you can be the man people want you to be when you choose to be.”

“You’ve got your match. Just name the time and place. And remember—stipulation is yours.”

Drew smiles slightly.

Drew McIntyre:

“One more thing.”

He looks at the referee.

Drew McIntyre:

“If you ever cost me another opportunity at becoming Undisputed WWE Champion… I will end your career.”

The referee looks shaken.

Suddenly—

Cody Rhodes’s music hits!

Cody storms to the ring and steps face-to-face with Drew.

Drew McIntyre (smirking):

“Good to see you, Cody. The New Era is coming.”

They stare each other down.

Drew McIntyre:

“I want this in Germany. I want a cage match.”

“When I’m done with you… your father will be disappointed in you.”

“You’ll wish you stayed as Stardust.”

Cody snaps—he hits a Cody Cutter out of nowhere!

Drew rolls out of the ring.

Nick Aldis looks stunned as Cody stands tall, fired up.

SmackDown fades out

29 December 2025

Commentary: Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett

Opening Segment – The Vision and CM Punk

Logan Paul, Austin Theory, Bron Breakker, Sami Zayn and Paul Heyman are standing in the ring.

Paul Heyman:

“Ladies and gentlemen… let me introduce the newest member of The Vision… Logan Paul!”

The crowd boos loudly as Logan Paul smiles and plays to the audience.

Logan Paul:

“It is an honour, Wiseman, to join The Vision. We are the future of this company. And speaking of the future, let’s talk about the next World Heavyweight Champion… Bron Breakker.”

Bron Breakker mocks the crowd.

CM Punk’s music hits.

CM Punk stands on the stage.

CM Punk:

“Logan, I speak for the entire WWE Universe when I say… please shut the hell up.”

Logan Paul looks furious.

CM Punk:

“Now, I want to speak to Bron alone. Can his lackeys please leave the ring?”

The Vision members look at one another.

Bron Breakker:

“Guys, I’ll catch up with you later.”

The Vision leaves the ring.

CM Punk enters the ring.

Bron Breakker:

“Punk, you’re underestimating me when you say people will be asking what happens to me in five years.

Seth Freakin’ Rollins and Paul Heyman handpicked me to become the star of The Vision.

I stepped up, and then I did what was necessary to take The Vision forward.

I threw Seth Freakin’ Rollins out of the very group he created.

The plan was always to come after the World Heavyweight Championship, but we never expected to move that plan forward for another two years.

We decided the time was now.

We’re ahead of schedule.

And I’m progressing quicker than anybody expected.”

CM Punk:

“I don’t doubt you’ve progressed since joining The Vision. But this match isn’t going to be as easy as you think, Bron.

I was away from this company for ten years.

It took me two years to win this championship.

At SummerSlam, I beat Gunther to become World Heavyweight Champion.

That was one of the greatest feelings of my life.

Then Seth Rollins cashed in Money in the Bank, and I lost my title.

That feeling was horrible.

My goal was to get this championship back.

And I did.

So understand something, Bron…

I am not prepared to let this title go for anybody.”

Punk and Bron Breakker stare each other down.

CM Punk slowly exits the ring.

Bron Breakker laughs.

Backstage Interview – Obi Femi

Jackie Redmond stands backstage with Obi Femi.

Jackie Redmond:

“Obi, how do you feel about the negative reaction from the WWE Universe after retiring John Cena?”

Obi Femi laughs.

Obi Femi:

“I love that I’ve caused this much outrage.

People can cry all they want about John Cena.

The truth is simple.

I did what nobody else could do.

I ended John Cena’s career.”

R-Truth walks into the shot.

R-Truth:

“I don’t like the attitude you got when it comes to John Cena.

Cena gave everything to this business.

So tonight, I challenge you to a match!”

Obi Femi smirks.

Obi Femi:

“If you want to join John in the retirement home, I’ll gladly help you.”

Obi walks away.

R-Truth looks unhappy.

Match 1 – Obi Femi vs. R-Truth

Obi Femi defeats R-Truth by pinfall.

R-Truth struggles to get back to his feet while Obi Femi celebrates his victory.

Locker Room Segment – The Usos

Jey Uso sits quietly in the locker room.

Jimmy Uso walks in.

Jimmy Uso:

“I know 2025 didn’t go the way you wanted, Uce.

I know you didn’t achieve your dream of becoming World Champion.

But your time is coming.

And tonight, we win gold together again.”

Jey Uso stands up.

Jey Uso:

“2025 hasn’t gone how I wanted it to, Uce.

But tonight, we end the year by becoming Raw Tag Team Champions.

YEET!”

Jimmy Uso smiles.

Jimmy Uso:

“That’s the spirit.

We’re doing this, Uce!”

The Usos bump fists.

Locker Room Segment – Logan Paul and Sami Zayn

Logan Paul is preparing for his match when Sami Zayn approaches him.

Sami Zayn:

“Logan, I got it wrong about you last week.

I’m delighted you joined The Vision.

You’re going to be a huge asset to this group.”

Logan Paul smiles.

Logan Paul:

“That means a lot to me.

I’ve got AJ Styles tonight.

Would you like to be at ringside with me?”

Sami Zayn nods.

Sami Zayn:

“It would be an honour.”

Logan smiles.

Match 2 – AJ Styles vs. Logan Paul (with Sami Zayn)

Logan Paul defeats AJ Styles by pinfall.

After the match, Logan Paul and Sami Zayn attack AJ Styles.

Damian Priest’s music hits.

Damian Priest runs to the ring.

Logan Paul and Sami Zayn quickly retreat.

Damian Priest stands tall and stares them down.

Special Appearance

Trick Williams is shown sitting in the audience, watching the action closely.

Main Event – Raw Tag Team Championship Match

Bronson Reed and Randy Orton (c) vs. The Usos

After a hard-fought match, Jey Uso pins Bronson Reed.

The Usos win the Raw Tag Team Championships.

Jimmy and Jey celebrate together in the ring as the crowd erupts.

Raw goes off the air with The Usos holding the championships high above their heads

Friday, 2 January 2026

Commentary: Michael Cole and Corey Graves

The Miz is in the ring.

The Miz:

“In 2025, we finally got rid of the monster known as John Cena.

I enjoyed watching him leave the arena on a stretcher.

Obi Femi, you did a special job destroying John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

My favourite moment of 2025.

In 2025, I wanted to make me and Carmelo Hayes the best tag team WWE has ever produced.

Carmelo, you disrespected me and rejected my offer.

Instead, you decided to go solo and win the United States Championship.

Carmelo, you don’t know a good opportunity when it’s in front of you.

I would’ve made you a legend in this business with my knowledge.”

Randy Orton’s music hits.

Randy Orton walks to the ring looking serious.

Randy Orton:

“In 2025, I was Raw Tag Team Champion with Bronson Reed.

We ended 2025 by losing our titles to The Usos.

So what’s next for Randy Orton?

A solo run. And I’m starting it by signing with Friday Night SmackDown.

Let’s give you the first RKO of 2026.”

The Miz:

“Please, not me!”

Randy Orton hits The Miz with an RKO.

Randy Orton stands tall and celebrates with the fans while The Miz lies motionless in the ring.

Commercial Break Ends.

Cody Rhodes is shown walking backstage with the Undisputed WWE Championship over his shoulder.

Randy Orton stops Cody Rhodes.

Randy Orton:

“I signed with Friday Night SmackDown to come after your championship.

I’m coming for the winner of Cody Rhodes vs Drew McIntyre.

I don’t care if you’re standing there as champion or not.

All I care about is breaking John Cena’s record.”

Randy Orton walks off.

Cody Rhodes looks nervous as he watches Randy leave.

Matt Cardona vs Johnny Gargano

Winner: Matt Cardona by pinfall.

Cathy Kelley interviews Finn Bálor.

Cathy Kelley:

“How do you feel about facing Rusev in an Ambulance Match tonight?”

Finn Bálor:

“Rusev, our rivalry ends tonight. You’ve put me through hell over the past few months.

By the end of the night, you’ll be in a hospital bed… and I’ll be the winner of our rivalry.”

Finn Bálor smirks.

Bo Dallas appears on the screen.

Bo Dallas:

“Solo Sikoa, you accused me of brainwashing lost souls.

Wrong again.

They are my fireflies, and I have millions of followers around the world.

Something you don’t have.

Your blood may be at your side, but their eyes will soon be opened when they realise what demon you are.

In 2026, I plan to destroy MFT for good.”

Bo Dallas laughs eerily before disappearing.

LA Knight comes to the ring.

LA Knight:

“My goal in 2025 was to become World Champion. I failed that goal.

In 2026, the goal is the same: to win a world title .

Yeah!”

Trick Williams’ music hits.

Trick Williams walks to the ring with swagger.

Trick Williams:

“I’m here to announce some big news.

I’ve signed with SmackDown.

I am the biggest acquisition SmackDown has made in its history.

I had a lot of offers.

Shawn Michaels begged me to stay in NXT, but I already achieved everything there.

TNA begged me to join.

AEW wanted me, but I’m not a washed-up has-been like LA Knight, so I wasn’t going there.

SmackDown paid top dollar to sign me.

I will be Undisputed Champion within two years.

And I won’t be out here crying to the WWE Universe about my failures like LA Knight.

That’s not what Trick Williams is about.”

LA Knight:

“That’s enough! You’ve done nothing on this roster and you think you’re some big shot.

Looks like it’s your first night here, so I’ll let you off… but next time will be a different story.

Yeah!”

LA Knight drops the mic and walks away.

Trick Williams stares him down.

Carmelo Hayes is backstage.

Ilja Dragunov approaches Carmelo Hayes.

Ilja Dragunov:

“I am glad I lost my United States Championship to someone like you. I am proud of how far you’ve come.

Please keep the United States Championship Open Challenge going.”

Carmelo Hayes:

“Of course I will. I’m happy to fight anyone for my championship.”

Ilja Dragunov smiles and walks off.

The Miz appears looking frustrated.

Carmelo Hayes:

“Best thing I ever did was walk away from The Miz.”

Carmelo Hayes raises the United States Championship and walks off.

Trick Williams is walking backstage, looking cocky.

Rey Mysterio stops him.

Rey Mysterio:

“I would drop the attitude. It won’t get you to the top.”

Trick Williams laughs.

Trick Williams:

“Rey Mysterio, this is no longer the glory days.

If you want to face a big superstar like me, I’ll give you a match next week.”

Rey Mysterio:

“I’d love to beat some respect into you.”

Trick Williams slaps Rey Mysterio.

United States Championship Open Challenge

Carmelo Hayes (c) vs Kit Wilson

Winner and still United States Champion: Carmelo Hayes.

Tama Tonga is backstage.

Shinsuke Nakamura approaches him.

Shinsuke Nakamura:

“Tama, my old friend… stop wasting your time with MFT.

Do something positive around here.

I know your true potential. I faced you in Japan.”

Solo Sikoa appears.

Solo Sikoa:

“You got something to say, Shinsuke?”

Shinsuke remains silent.

Solo Sikoa:

“Thought so.”

Shinsuke Nakamura walks away, annoyed.

Solo Sikoa:

“Next week, MFT will face Wyatt Sicks in a four-on-four match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

Tama… we’re winning those titles. I promise you.”

Solo smiles.

Opening Segment

Randy Orton is standing in the ring when the music of Trick Williams hits.

Trick Williams struts to the ring with his trademark swagger.

Trick Williams:

“Randy, drop this fantasy that you’re going to be World Champion again. Nick Aldis paid top dollar to bring Trick Willy to SmackDown. He’s going to make sure his investment pays off. He’s not going to risk his money by giving someone like Randy Orton an opportunity. Maybe you should just go to All Elite Wrestling, where all of WWE’s has-beens go!”

Randy Orton:

“You remind me of myself when I was younger—stupid and not knowing any better. Luckily, I grew up and learned respect in this business. I hope you do the same. It looks like WWE NXT or TNA Wrestlingnever taught you any manners. I’d be happy to teach you some respect right here in this ring!”

Trick Williams laughs.

Trick Williams:

“I’m already better than you! I’m earning a bigger paycheck than you, and I’m going to stop you from breaking John Cena’s record. I’d give you an opportunity tonight, but another has-been has tried to steal my spotlight, and I’m going to teach him a lesson later tonight. That has-been is Rey Mysterio!”

Finn Bálor:

“I’ve entered the Royal Rumble, and I plan to win it. Then I’m going to headline WrestleMania against Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Championship.”

Drew McIntyre interrupts.

Drew McIntyre:

“Finn, I need to correct you there. You won’t be headlining WrestleMania with Cody, because a new era begins tonight, and I will be WWE Undisputed Champion by the end of this show.”

“It doesn’t matter to me if I end up facing you, because I’ve already beaten you once at WrestleMania—and I’d be happy to do it again.”

Finn Bálor walks away, leaving Drew McIntyre glaring in frustration.

PSD Bank Dome, Düsseldorf, Germany

AJ Styles arrives in the arena.

Kurt Angle stops him.

Kurt Angle: AJ, I’ve come all the way to Germany just to speak to you. You’re an old friend, and so is John Cena. I was John Cena’s first opponent here in WWE. I wanted him to be my last opponent, but Vince McMahon had different ideas. I’m proud of you for standing up to Oba Femi after he trashed John Cena. Get the win for John and the WWE Universe tonight.

AJ Styles: Tonight is about getting justice for John Cena and taking Obi Femi out for good.

AJ Styles walks off.

Kurt Angle smiles.

Judgment Day Clubhouse

Santos Escobar is playing on a PlayStation 5.

Liv Morgan walks in, looks around unimpressed.

Liv Morgan: What are you doing?

Santos Escobar: Just chilling out.

Liv’s expression tightens.

Liv Morgan: JD’s injured. Dom’s injured. Braun’s not here tonight. That leaves me… and you. And right now, I’m looking at a guy playing video games instead of stepping up.

She steps closer.

Liv Morgan: I don’t need passengers. I need someone who proves they belong in this group.

Santos pauses, thinking.

Santos Escobar: …You want me to step up? I’ll step up.

He turns off the console and stands.

Santos walks out. Liv watches him go, a small satisfied smile forming.

Triple H’s Office

Paul Heyman: You demanded I come to your office.

Triple H: I saw what happened. Bron Breakker lost his World Heavyweight Championship match with CM Punk. And I want one thing made very clear—he will accept that loss. No attitude. No excuses. And absolutely no attacking any of our superstars tonight. If he does, there will be consequences.

Heyman narrows his eyes.

Paul Heyman: You’re blaming me for what Bron Breakker does?

Triple H: I’m not blaming anyone. I’m warning you both. This company doesn’t run on chaos. It runs on order. And right now, you’re both walking a fine line.

A pause.

Triple H: You’ve been warned. Now leave my office.

Heyman stares him down… then slowly exits, clearly frustrated.

CM Punk comes to the ring.

CM Punk: I told you all—Bron Breakker was going to be a tough fight. And I’m not letting go of this World Heavyweight Championship easily.

I was also shocked watching my friend Cody Rhodes lose the WWE Undisputed Championship. Cody… I feel for you.

But I know you’ll bounce back. Win the Royal Rumble, and I’ll see you at WrestleMania. That’s a long road, though… and there are a lot of obstacles between now and then.

Santos Escobar’s music hits.

Santos Escobar walks to the ring.

CM Punk looks confused.

Santos Escobar: I’m not here for nostalgia. I’m not here for anyone else’s story. I’m here for my opportunity. And I believe I deserve a shot at your World Heavyweight Championship.

CM Punk smirks.

CM Punk: You know what’s funny? You only started showing up like this after Liv Morgan told you to stop playing video games.

I remember when Rey Mysterio called you the future of this business. I remember when you helped LA Knight beat Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship.

That was impressive.

Now look at you… talking big because someone told you to.

Santos steps forward, serious.

Santos Escobar: This isn’t about the past. This isn’t about Judgment Day. This is about me. So I’ll ask you once more—next week, World Heavyweight Championship. You in?

A pause.

CM Punk nods.

CM Punk: I’m CM Punk. I don’t back down from anyone.

You’ve got your match.

They stare each other down as the crowd reacts.

“Tonight, a new era begins!

I was fired in 2014.

People knew what I was capable of, but they never wanted this new era back then.

I was The Chosen One.

I went around the world to prove WWE wrong for firing me.

And guess what? I proved everyone wrong!

They begged me to come back.

I became WWE NXT Champion.

I dominated NXT, and they had no choice but to bring me back to the main roster.

I won the Royal Rumble and headlined WrestleMania when there were no fans.

I won the world title, but celebrating without fans sucked.

After that, The Bloodline, CM Punk, Finn Bálor, Cody Rhodes, and even the referees tried to screw me over.

Because they don’t want Drew McIntyre to be the star of the show.

Cody Rhodes:

“Tonight is a sad night for WWE.

Drew McIntyre now has my WWE Undisputed Championship.

Drew says he isn’t giving me a rematch.

Well, I have a different opinion on that.

I am entering the Royal Rumble, and I am going to win.

And at WrestleMania, I will stop the new era.

But first, let’s talk about the man who helped Drew McIntyre win the title.

Jacob Fatu.

Your anger got the better of you.

You attacked Drew McIntyre.

Commentary: Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore

LA Knight is in the ring.

LA Knight: “I set myself a goal for 2026… to win the WWE Undisputed Championship!

Tomorrow, I compete in a Number One Contender’s Fatal Four-Way Match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

If I beat three other men, I become the Number One Contender for the WWE Undisputed Championship at the Royal Rumble… YEAH!!”

Trick Williams’ music hits.

Trick Williams walks to the ring with swagger.

Trick Williams: “Spoiler alert for tomorrow’s Fatal Four-Way Match… LA Knight will not beat Trick Williams, yeah!

Nick Aldis spent a lot of money bringing me to SmackDown. He wants Trick Willy headlining WrestleMania, not some Attitude Era wannabe.”

LA Knight: “Trick, you’re full of confidence, but you’re just putting pressure on yourself.

When you fail against LA Knight, you’re gonna look like a fool… YEAH!!”

Trick Williams looks annoyed with LA Knight.

Finn Bálor’s music hits.

Finn Bálor walks down to the ring, clearly annoyed with Trick Williams.

Finn Bálor: “Trick, you need to learn some respect. The way you speak to experienced wrestlers like myself and LA Knight is shocking.

You’re still a rookie, and you’ve got a long way to go before you become a WrestleMania main eventer!”

Trick Williams looks furious.

Trick Williams suddenly smashes LA Knight in the face with the microphone!

Trick then starts beating down Finn Bálor.

Carmelo Hayes smiles.

Carmelo Hayes: “Sounds good to me.”

Ilja Dragunov walks off.

The Miz enters the room looking frustrated.

The Miz: “You gave up our tag team to fight punks like Ilja Dragunov? What a wasted opportunity.”

Suddenly, Jacob Fatu storms into the room.

Cody Rhodes: “Michael… please leave the room. I want to speak to Jacob in private.”

Michael Cole nervously leaves the room.

Jacob Fatu: “My beef wasn’t with you. It was with Drew McIntyre! Unfortunately, the cage broke when I threw him through it. A freak accident. I’m not the reason you lost your championship.

But if you got a problem with the Samoan Werewolf… I’m happy to solve it in the ring!”

Cody Rhodes: “Jacob, you’ve got some anger issues. That’s probably why you’ve been in jail before. If you don’t control yourself soon, I’m confident you’ll end up there again.”

Jacob Fatu: “I’m the Samoan Werewolf. I handle my consequences. I can handle jail… not like Cody Rhodes!”

Cody Rhodes: “Not a very smart thing to say. Think about your kids. I’d never do that to my family.”

Jacob Fatu: “Don’t you dare mention my family!”

Jacob Fatu explodes with rage and crushes Cody Rhodes through a table with a massive Samoan Drop!

Nick Aldis is in his office when AJ Styles walks in.

Nick Aldis: “AJ, you’re an old friend… do you really want to put your career on the line against Oba Femi? This could end dangerously, and I don’t want you getting hurt.”

AJ Styles: “I want justice for what Oba Femi did to John Cena. I’m willing to put my career up for grabs. If I lose, at least I go out being a hero.”

Nick Aldis shakes his head.

Shinsuke Nakamura walks into the office.

Shinsuke Nakamura: “You’re a dumbass, AJ!”

AJ Styles: “What?”

Shinsuke Nakamura: “AJ Styles is a dumbass for putting his career on the line against Oba Femi. Career suicide!”

Drew McIntyre stands in the ring, smiling while holding the WWE Undisputed Championship.

Drew McIntyre: “Jacob… this wasn’t a freak accident me winning the WWE Undisputed Championship.

The New Era was meant to happen.

Cody, I will make sure you don’t win the Royal Rumble. You’d be killing this company if you headline another WrestleMania.

Tomorrow night… Fatal Four-Way Number One Contender Match for my WWE Undisputed Championship.”

Drew paces around the ring, looking confident.

Drew McIntyre: “Let’s talk about who’s in the match.

Trick Williams… I like your swagger and arrogance. You remind me of a young Drew McIntyre. But you’re not winning my title.

Finn Bálor… I’ve already beaten him.

Randy Orton… that’s been done.

The man trying to break John Cena’s record… which will never happen.

And LA Knight… the man I hate the most. The man who was once my friend… and turned on me.”
