Resident Evil: Requiem

I have finally gotten through Resident Evil 9, and just some very quick thoughts.

The plot twist near the end of the game that Grace was an orphan adopted by Spencer attempts to recontextualize his whole character as someone who was repentant in his actions, but that seemingly contradicts what the last moments of his life were, which was a put down of Albert Wesker, reveling in the fact that he got to reveal his last secret to his personal puppet. Obviously it would make sense though that Spencer would leave behind one last gift for the world, and that gift would be a cure for all the shit he's responsible for, just as one last "fuck you" to Wesker especially.

I don't think Elpis and Grace redeem Spencer though, he's largely an absolute monster and perhaps the worst person in all of human history in the RE-Verse, and him having a soft spot for a baby girl isn't gonna save him from the weight of his responsibility.

The gameplay was amazing, no notes, awesome stuff.

Yeah i think it was more of spencer not wanting ppl to control his shit than really feeling regret. They said he had dementia towards the end so he probably just thought the girl was cute

Also i think this might be the most expensive game ever for me. I preordered on ps5 and thought i cancelled it to get it on switch 2 but apparently didnt so i have both versions. I turned on my xbox tonight to find out i preordered the deluxe edition on there. Looks like about $230 all together

I really enjoyed her as a character.

Beat it again last night without any heals or collecting blood so i got enough points for infinite ammo. I bought graces gun from the shop and some leon guns too but sadly for leons you still have to buy them from the supply box.

I guess its not a huge deal because ive just been using the reqiuem with infinite ammo on everything so far.

I really enjoyed her as a character.

I am legit wondering if she's on the spectrum? Stuttering, awkward interactions with others including her mom, struggling with eye contact, talking to herself a lot etc.
Can't think of any other game that featured that type of character except Horizon.

Certainly couldn't be she's just a naturally introverted person who's a coward thrown into a fucking batshit situation against her will and made to actually fight to survive or anything. Kinda like how most people would actually react in her situation.

Not entirely a fan of how the game retcons Spencer and James Marcus's relationship too, changing it to where Marcus was being paid off by the fuckin illuminati, making Spencer justified in murdering Marcus.

Just finished my third run on ps5 and unlocked Speed Demon trophy. I have basically all of the unlocks except the inifinite ammo for the rocket launcher and the only way i can get it with the points i have left would be to finish insanity mode.

I'm also missing one freaking raccoon and i really didn't want to have to look it up but I think i got all but 3 on my first try and found 2 on my 2nd attempt and i didn't see/hear shit this last time.
