@Barry Poppins I'm getting the itch to play again, but I've been watching YouTube videos of guys with DLC. Which do you recommend I get first bc getting all is much too expensive?

Console is behind PC but most are out, I'm thinking the royal court is a must since it just feels like such a standard feature rn that I don't have yet

Out of all the DLC I'd probably recommend: Royal Court, Tours and Tournaments, Northern Lords and Wandering Nobles as must-haves

Roads to Power, Khans of the Steppe, and Wards and Wardens as decent additions

Legends of the Dead, Fate of Iberia, Legacy of Persia, and Friends & Foes is optional.

Its actually cheaper rn to get the chapter 1 pieces (Iberia, norther lords, royal court) individually than buy chapter 1 bc they're all on sale for PSN but then I can't get the probably very minor cosmetic pack that comes with the chapter since it's not purchaseable separately lol a dilemma

Wandering Nobles and Khans not even on console yet btw

Why do you like Northern Lords so much? It only really appealed to me bc I gravitate more towards the Norse/UK area of the game but otherwise seemed pretty minor

I think to try and get out of my comfort zone, the next game I start, whether I get any of these DLC or not will be a random ruler. Last time I tried it, I got a young Russian ruler with feuding siblings and it was great fun, I'd have never picked to play there otherwise

I was just wondering if I was missing something lol most likely I'll get either Chapter 1 by itself or the individual pieces so I'll get the pack regardless though

I'm looking to start a new campaign but randomized, gonna look around for some randomizers.

I was waiting to see if I stick with this game to post about it or not but my first character is probably finally gonna die soon and I'm satisfied with what he's accomplished and his succession so this might he a long term interesting game

I randomized and started as a county ruler in Fante which is as far south of the western part of Africa as you can be. Most everyone else around me also just had one county so I was able to form my duchy fairly quick and have managed to keep my army slightly ahead of the strongest around me to not lose any conflicts. I formed my kingdom of Akan not too long ago which will be inherited by my sole daughter due to the culture having female dominance (I have 5 sons lol that worked amazingly)

The only goal I really have other than see what shakes out (playing this deep in Africa is so unique so far) is to form the empire of Guinea which is my de jure but that's fucking huge and I imagine quite a few of the kingdoms form first for some added complications but if that all goes well I might just fuck around and unite Africa

But I knew this save was going to go well when one of the first things I did was a hunt and I slayed a lion single handedly

I guess my most immediate long term goal is reforming my religion as I have two holy sites already but the other 3 aren't exactly close and any of them will be a chore to get, just need to pick one i guess, will work towards that slightly and see if I get a character that can expedite it with skills

@Barry Poppins Google can't help me so maybe you can but why does my income go down when I raise my army yet I'm still tribal? I thought it just used prestige then, not gold to supply. It obviously uses some gold which logically makes sense but it just doesn't say it should be when I look at army maintence and stuff so idk why and it's quite annoying for my budgeting bc I keep forgetting

Maybe it's just bc I've gotten a couple hostages so far but I'm getting so much out of the wards DLC so far, phenomenal addition for minor things

If I remember correctly it's because certain MAAs cost money rather than prestige, plus levies will *always* cost money.
