DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE PRESENTS
xztMSseegLCbaPMuTWFm87.jpg
GORDON: ESCAPE FROM ARKHAM
Our next entry into this third chapter of the DC Extended Universe would be a highly anticipated television special entitled Escape from Arkham. Believed to have been both loosely inspired by the Arkham Asylum game and also the movie Lockout. This special promised to be very much an action thriller. To open we would see our main character of this story Jim Gordon (Brian Cranston) in a sit down meeting with Gotham City mayor Marion Grange (Carla Gugino). This would be a very hush hush, covert meeting as the pair continued to discuss the status of Gotham City. One noted improvement with this television special was the noted expansion of some of the lesser featured characters from the Batman movie series. Marion Grange being one of them as while she had always been shown to be a no nonsense woman who called it as she saw it. We'd see a different side to Marion, one who was feeling the stress and weight of the city. Citing all the changes both positive and negative over Gotham in the past two years from the fall of both the Maroni and Falcone Crime family, the horrific scarring of Harvey Dent, the death of officials such as Gillian Loeb, the exposition of Howard Branden and his corrupt cops, the rise of the Batman and of course the all out mob war in the ensuing fall out. Grange says that in order to get Gotham right, they need to investigate the asylum if Gordon believes it is worth looking into.

Calling Gordon the true hope of the city in even it's most darkest and dire times. Marion would ask what drew Gordon's attention to the asylum. Gordon in turn would mention that there was a lot of questionable names and faces who were believed to be incarcerated back on the street who in his words were under the watch of Alyce Sinner (Rainey Qualley), an asylum doctor. Gordon would also reference the Port Orsegwo Jane Doe (Olivia Cheng) incident which saw Jeremiah Arkham (David Dastmalchian) conveniently lose a notorious killer in a crime ridden environment. Citing that what some might put down as bad luck or incompetence he has started to ponder as something a little more daunting like a tactical strike of anarchy. Gordon said he just couldn't shake the feeling that there was something amiss here. Remarking that he has a plan but knows they need help. It would be then that Gordon would introduce Marion Grange to their team for this private task force. The team would be comprised of Barbara Gordon (Jane Levy), Sarah Essen (Jennifer Carpenter), Jason Bard (Sam Claflin) and Harvey Bullock (Marc Addy). This would also provide viewers with a long awaited scene between Harvey Bullock and Jim Gordon. The pair of course having a noted dynamic across many DC iterations and this being no different as while the pair would needle one another and at times bring out the worst in one another with their arguments, it was clear there was a wealth of respect and trust between the duo.

These scenes would also provide some needed depth to some more supporting characters from the Catwoman and Batman sagas. As we would see a transformation firstly when it came to Sarah Essen. Now no longer a lacking in experience and confidence rookie detective from Year One. Instead we would see a confident detective who was unafraid to voice her opinions and what she had seen during the Battle for Gotham and the Arkham inmates. Seemingly sharing Gordon's suspicious Sarah made it clear that while she may not agree with Jim's idea that she does agree there is validity to being suspicious about Arkham. Jason Bard meanwhile would also see further character development as while still the brash figure, he was in fact a highly intelligent and sharp officer who was very well connected in the force. As the group began to talk about a plan for this investigation, it was Gordon who finally told everyone what he had only previously told Essen. Gordon wanted to launch an undercover operation and knowing the risks of it he insisted on being the one to do so. This would be met with a mixed response from all those involved with Bullock saying there is no way the asylum will hire him as a guard. In response to this it is Essen who reveals Gordon's plan isn't to go in as a guard but instead as an inmate.

This is further met with more mixed responses as while Harvey Bullock switched to believing this was a good idea as no one would worry about someone so low on the totem pole. Both Barbara Gordon and Jason Bard remarked that Gordon wouldn't have much in the way of protection if he went in as a inmate. Despite this in a show of trust for Gordon Marion Grange would agree to put all efforts she could behind the plan and despite the hesitancy of some of the team. Gordon would remain indignant that he would be doing this plan with or without them. Despite being unhappy with his stubbornness the group would begin to come together with a plan. This began with the decision to not only have Gordon go in under a disguise with the help of Bard's connections who specialized in prosthesis and disguises while Barbara Gordon with the help of Harvey Bullock would put together a biography for Gordon's new inmate cover which would be Matches Malone. Wanting more allies to ensure Gordon the upmost protection as possible, Marion Grange would ask them to broaden their horizons and expand their group. The first of which would be a veteran officer by the name of Dan Foley (Martin Short). While dismissed by Bullock quickly as a cop who more covets an easy life and someone too nice to be on the service.

It was Sarah Essen who would vouch for Foley calling him one of the good ones. While Foley at first may have been a little hesitant to be involved in something so covert and risky, he would prove that while more an overly cautious cop who was well aware of the risks of his profession. That deep down Dan Foley was in fact one of the good ones as he agreed to assist in anyway that he could. The second new recruit would be a very unpopular one among the officers but this one was personally requested by Grange and it was detective Mackenzie Bock (Russell Hornsby). Branded by Bullock as a rat and several of the other officers as a truly selfish individual. Bock was also someone who had come into conflict previously with Gordon yet despite this Jim did believe that Bock was one of the good ones. Which is what Gordon said to Bock when he read him the riot act at what was at risk here. In turn Bock would prove himself to be quite respectful and willing to do what he could to help in an effort to clean up the street. Yet despite his willingness to work with the team, Bock's attitude and past would rub many of the team the wrong way with him and Bullock in particular coming into conflict. Realizing that they didn't just need a backstory but also more details on Matches Malone, Jason Bard would reach out to his girlfriend Vicki Vale (Sophia Bush). During this chat we would learn that Jack Ryder was still in hospital while also that Vale was now a chief journalist for the Gotham Gazette.

Promising Vale an exclusive story if she would help them. Vicki would in turn with permission and thanks to her status help doctor some events in the Malone backstory to tie in with previously documented crimes in Gotham City. At the same time we also see Sarah Essen meet up with her friend and ex lover Chase Meridian (Crystal Reed). While things may have been a little complicated in the pair's relationship, we would see why this pair shared such a bond as they were both idealists who truly saw the good in others and would look to help in any way possible. Despite having misgivings about helping this mission and putting her reputation at stake, Chase Meridian as a highly successful criminal psychologist would agree to eventually write and doctor some case notes on Matches Malone. On top of this Meridian with some experience of the Asylum would begin to tell of some potential friends on the inside who could be trusted. At the same time Vicki Vale would swear to do some investigations of her own and see if she could help in her own way and together as a team they would draft up a bio of Matches Malone as a chemically unstable gun for hire with mental and psychological trauma.

With this plan now fully underway, Gordon in his disguise would be arrested by Mackenzie Bock and processed. During the charging as Matches Malone and thanks to a previously written psychological profile, it was soon determined that Matches should undergo treatment at the Asylum. To arrange the transport of Gordon under this guise would be Harvey Bullock as well as two Arkham security guards by the name of Emily Parker (Alona Tal) and Phil Cho (Reggie Lee). They would be accompanied by a doctor of the asylum by the name of Byron Meredith (Cory Michael Smith). As we'd learn from some flashbacks Emily Parker was a budding police detective in her own right who had sadly come short thanks to the previous administration. However she would covertly be called for a meeting by Marion Grange who made her aware of the arrangement and the promise that should she keep a close eye on Gordon then the door would be reopened for her with the GCPD. This was in stark contrast to Phil Cho who was very much just a guard in the job for the pay check and benefits. Meredith meanwhile was referred to by Meridian as a clout chaser, while harmless and not someone to be worried about. His want for being famed and so on would leave him as a risk to divulge information making him a risk to involve.

During his transport to the Asylum, Gordon would find that he wasn't alone in this transit. As not only was Jane Doe (Olivia Cheng) being returned to the asylum but also a mysterious individual known as Mortimer Kadaver (Sam Spruell) who simply stared into the distance without a word. On arrival to the asylum where this group would be escorted from the vans we would meet Aaron Cash (Roger Cross). A veteran guard with a former military background, Cash had again been described by Meridian as a noble and honest individual who in no way would be a good fit for this covert operation. Honest to a fault, Cash was very much someone more driven to fix the issues with the Asylum from the inside. Cash would also be shown to have a fairly good relationship with both Parker and Cho while he'd quickly form a respectful bond with Bullock. By Cash's side would be an asylum orderly known as Kiana Barnes (Frances Root Dodson) who was shown to be a meek and mild mannered woman who was lacking in confidence. During this induction Gordon would finally meet the head guard of the Asylum and one of the names he knew to be wary of.

This was Lyle Bolton (Michael Madsen), a former police detective who had been kicked off the force for many complaints of candor and excessive force. Bolton was someone who Gordon himself had come into conflict with and he was far from Harvey Bullock's friend either as the two grizzled individuals locked eyes and traded insults. Along with Lyle Bolton would be Arkham's warden Quincy Sharp (John C Reilly). To the outside world, Sharp may have been a charismatic and charming figure but Meridian again would warn Gordon ahead of time that this was a slimy figure who only served his own intentions. After introducing himself and jokingly introducing everyone to the asylum, Sharp would say it was time to have the new patients undergo so evaluations. Gordon for his evaluation would be given a doctor by the name of Roy Westerman (Robert Aramayo). While Westerman may have portrayed himself as a hot shot with a too cool for school vibe as he had the guards excuse themselves bar Emily Parker. We'd soon learn that Westerman was in fact the ally and friend that Meridian spoke of. Calling this plan ballsy and brave but also incredibly stupid. Westerman says that they will do all they can to watch out for him but warn him that he will also need to watch his back.

Planning a weekly check in with his patient. Roy Westerman says that he and Parker have plans to keep Gordon in contact with his team. This includes a burner phone which Parker and Roy will split between them but can't have him hold due to random searches. Westerman would also warn Gordon that he has put himself in a shark tank and that at the very top is Quincy Sharp who while able to play himself as a charming and charismatic figure. The reality however of the situation is Sharp has little interest in rehabilitation or patient situation. Instead he is quite happy to see the patients destroy themselves and each other. This is why people like Bolton have jobs as they are no more than abusive thugs with badges and authority. Over the course of the next few days Gordon would very much be kept in captivity. During his talks with Westerman we would see Westerman say he was not a fan of this method of isolation as he believed it spurred on and increased the aggression of patients. He also warned Gordon that some of the other doctors coveted his case as of how straightforward the profile was. During these conversations we would learn more about the Asylum and it's owner Amadeus Arkham (Anthony Hopkins). Westerman would say that true to form with this asylum, Amadeus was not how he appeared and while he may have seemed like a kindly and frail old man, the truth was anything further.

Branding Amadeus as cruel and ruthless with many quickly finding themselves victims of Amadeus' abuse. Westerman would reveal that his recent target was Kiana Barnes who was kind to a fault and sought only acceptance. Westerman would during these discussions also state that Jeremiah would get the brunt of his father's wrath. Saying that Jeremiah is very much the meek figure he portrays himself who has been brow beaten since one. As Gordon would soon learn Jeremiah's closest ally was in fact Alyce Sinner (Rainey Qualley). Branding her a wolf in sheeps clothing who was akin to a symbiote in how she latched on to others. Conversing with Parker and Westerman, Gordon would share his suspicions that Sinner was releasing criminals into the wild during conflict for gain. Nodding his head Westerman would then follow with the reveal that Jeremiah Arkham is the one who approves these releases and it has seen a lot of questions being raised as to how Jane Doe was released. In response to this Gordon suggests talking to Jane Doe but Westerman would reveal that she had been put on a private wing and that's where he'd suggest that Gordon go. Yet Gordon would insist on seeing it all and that's why he wants to go into gen pop.

This comment would be met with a mixed reaction by Gordon's team when Westerman relayed the news. Seeing this as Gordon being put even more at risk. Notably it would be Barbara as well as Marion Grange and Dan Foley who voiced their concerns while Sarah Essen, Jason Bard, Mackenzie Bock and Harvey Bullock saw credence. However to get a lay of the land in regards to what Gordon would be dealing with, they would ask Chase Meridian to profile the inmates currently housed in the general population of the wing Gordon would be planted in. Westerman in turn would also begin to advise Gordon on those to be careful of and be wary of. We would then be met with clips and comic montages of this eclectic group of criminals being housed in this wing. The first would be the highly dangerous and unstable brute known as Aaron Helzinger/Amygdala (Joseph Gatt). Who as Chase and Roy would reveal was the victim of a botched surgery leaving him with a diminished brain capacity making him prone to violence. The second criminal profiled would be Paul Decker/Crazy Quilt (Frank Whaley). A one time criminal mastermind known for elaborate heists, Decker would sadly be left blind when he was double crossed by his own crew. In an effort to recover Decker would construct a helmet to bring back his vision but this would steadily sap his sanity driving him insane.

While Helzinger and Decker were two characters who could be sympathized with. The next character was not the case in Daedlus Boch/Doodle Bug (Chris Rock). A once highly celebrated and prolific street artist who was reminiscent of Banksy. This was until we came to learn that Boch's ritualistic paintings were in fact painted out of the blood of his murder victims. A devout satanist who believed that blood brought him powers, Boch was described as one of Arkham's most dangerous and a new patient in Sinner's care. Another patient under the care of Alyce Sinner would be Frank Weston/Film Freak (Freddie Prinze Jr). A former stunt man and budding actor who's lack of success would lead to him suffering a psychotic break as he believed himself to be the villains he was portraying and started carrying out their crimes before his incarceration. Another name for Gordon to be aware of was Lunkhead (Jamal Duff), an imposing mindless brute who for most part was docile. What made Lunkhead dangerous was just how easily manipulated he was by others to act as a missile of sorts.

Also in the general population was Humphry Dumpler/Humpty Dumpty (Craig Ricci Shaynak). While a well meaning and kind hearted person by nature. Dumpler in many ways was reminiscent of Lennie from it's Mice and Men thanks to his lack of awareness of his own strength which had unfortunately seen him kill several people. One of the rare harmless patients of the asylum would be Tucker Long/Junkyard Dog (Fred Koehler). More a petty criminal who has never really committed violent acts, Tucker Long thanks to his schizophrenia was institutionalized. However this would be one of the rare few when Westerman then warned Gordon of two noted serial killers to avoid in the asylum. The first of which would be a mute serial killer named Camila Ortin/The Mime noted for removing the vocal chords of her victim while the other was a name which rang a bell for Sarah Essen in Martin Hawkins/Mad-Dog (Sebastien Foucan) who was a dangerous and highly aggressive killer as well as a noted serial rapist. The next patient of note would be Tallyman II (Erik Stocklin). A follower of the original Tallyman, it is believed this follower was his loyal student who looked to continue his legacy. The final three additions would be the already introduced Mortimer Kadaver as well as dangerous killer and pyromaniac Garfield Lynns/Firefly (Shawn Hatosy). The last name would be one of curiosity to Gordon in Mortimer Drake/The Cavalier (Matt Mullins). While he may act as a man of honor this was a vicious mob hitman who we'd learn was personally brought to Arkham by Sinner.

While he may have been warned about the threat of the other inmates he would be sharing the floor with in general population. It would turn out Gordon's first big threat hadn't been mentioned as it was in fact a member of staff. This staff member was William Petit (Callum Keith Rennie). A former SWAT team member who Gordon quickly identified as one of Branden's crew, we'd learn that Petit was an astute officer who knew to quit before the net around Branden and his team tightened. However in this new position Petit would show himself to be a brutal bully who abused his power at any point. In many ways Petit was seen as a loose cannon by the more subtle approach of Bolton. Yet Bolton did enjoy watching Petit work and shielded him when others like Cash would confront him. As Gordon under his Matches Malone guise looked to settle into the general population, we'd see Petit begin to focus on Gordon as he couldn't scratch an itch that he knew him from somewhere. At first Petit would be subtle with his maliciousness towards Gordon, but gradually we'd see his brutality culminate with a vicious beating of Gordon. This came close to breaking his prosthesis and we'd see Gordon beaten on the ground before Aaron Cash stepped in. Westerman in turn would be forced to make a call while he insisted that Parker keep watch of Malone.

As Matches Malone was laid up in the medbay with Kiana tending to his wounds. He would catch Cash in a conversation and asked Aaron what led to him working in the asylum. Surprisingly candid, Cash would talk of his battles with alcohol following the service which cost him several opportunities to get employment. He would reveal that he came into this job sober and bright eyed with the intention of purely focusing on the good. However he has come to realize that perhaps the good he hoped would be in this asylum wasn't quite there. Stepping in on the meeting, Roy Westerman would thank Cash for checking on his patient before he'd ask him to keep a watch on Matches. Despite being unsure as to why, Cash agrees to help and keep an eye. Emily Parker meanwhile would reach out to Marion Grange in regards to what happened. This confession of Gordon taking a beating would not sit well with the team as Sarah Essen spoke of pulling Gordon. This would be until Dan Foley on hearing it was William Petit had a plan. While this plan would not sit fully well with Mackenzie Bock it would remove Petit from the board. This would put in motion by Harvey Bullock going to a bar which Petit was known to frequent.

Bullock in turn would get to bait and antagonize Petit which would draw a response from Petit as the two took the fight outside. Here Bullock would defeat Petit in a short fight after which Petit looked to pull a gun only to be arrested by Bard and Foley. This would very much remove Petit from the field of play as with his arrest, his termination would be administered from Arkham Asylum. On his return back to general population Gordon would find himself now under the watchful eyes of Lyle Bolton. He would also find as he started to circulate gen pop that he'd have to deal with the dynamics. This included the tightrope walk past the likes of Amygdala, Lunkhead, Humpty Dumpty and the Mime all of whom were quick to anger and lash out in violent fashion. He would also have to be careful of the dangerous Doodlebug, Mad Dog and Firefly all of whom were highly versed in violence as well albeit more for the enjoyment and pleasure of it. In fact the only people Gordon managed to make conversation with albeit to different successes were Crazy Quilt, Film Freak, Junkyard Dog and Tallyman II. While Quilt at times could make sense thanks to the self imposed damage he was for most of the time a rambling mess. Film Freak meanwhile was an ego centric, self consumed individual who only spoke of himself. Junkyard Dog was a trembling mess also who sadly was scared of every passing move which would put him in constant harms way and the crosshairs of others. While Tayllman II showing a lot different side of personality to the original in gone was the humming and sing along and in it's place was a boastful sadism.

The one standout though would be Mortimer Drake. Unlike the others it was clear Drake didn't belong in the asylum and should be in prison. This was a well read and intelligent criminal who had been placed in here due to his connections to the mob and he was assigned Sinner as his physician. As we'd learn during these meetings Alyce would provide Drake with a phone for which he would be kept in the loop regarding the goings on at Gotham City. Seeing Drake as a potential means of information, Gordon would look to reach him only to find Drake with little interest in dealing with what he deemed a lowly fish. Seeming a need to prove himself as someone worth Drake's time Gordon would have to earn his respect. It wouldn't take long for Gordon to find a way when he saw Hawkins set his sights on Kiana Barnes. Confronting Mad Dog, Gordon would orchestrate a fight between the pair which ended when Gordon managed to break the leg of Mad Dog. This would put him in the infirmary before it was deemed that Mad Dog was too much of a threat and would be kept in isolation. It seemed the words of isolation would send a chill down everyone's spine and this is where Drake finally bridged the gap as he applauded Matches Malone for sending Hawkins to the dark. When asked why everyone was so scared of that part of the asylum, Drake would answer casually that this was where you face your fears.

From here we'd see Drake begin to boastfully tell Gordon that he is the rare untouchable in this location. As he quickly motioned towards Junkyard Dog who skulked through the asylum and branded him pathetic. Drake said it was only a matter of time before he was killed. Calling what Malone did as right to remove that animal from the general population. Drake would also warn Gordon that now he had a lot more eyes on him with Lyle Bolton being interested in him. Bolton as it seemed had taken a vested interest in Malone since the arrest of Petit being in time with Malone's assault. It would seem however with the constant talk of Matches Malone that more people were taking a vested interest. One of which would be Hugo Strange (Stanley Tucci), a senior Arkham doctor who Chase described as having a stellar reputation despite not being the most friendly of individuals. Hugo Strange would use his position to go over Roy's head to have an evaluation with Matches Malone. During the conversation we'd see Hugo Strange quickly drop the professional guise as he remarked that he knows Matches Malone is a fake. Saying he knows a fake report when he sees one, Hugo says he has expected for a long time that the GCPD would eventually begin to take note of the rot ongoing here. However he didn't expect the police commissioner to be the one to go under. Knowing his identity has been exposed Gordon would drop the pretense as well and ask what's next.

Strange would say that to fix this rot which has seeped in. One must go from the very bottom all the way to the top. However he would be willing to lend some advice should the mayor agree to give him the promotion he rightfully deserves. Albeit with some hesitation, this would be agreed upon by Marion Grange meaning that Gordon would have a powerful ally who would vouch for him but even still Lyle Bolton remained on his back. While Bolton may have remained strong, the same could not be said for William Petit as with CCTV not only showing him throw the first punch and drawing his weapon but also the prospect of going to jail or the asylum. Petit would demand a deal be put in place for his cooperation. With the police seemingly breathing down the asylum's neck, it seemed that the pressure would cause Jeremiah Arkham to confront his father once and for all. Despite his sickness and ailing health Amadeus Arkham was still a fiercely independent and proud individual who was quick to blast his inept, pathetic son for putting them under fire. Demanding his father step aside and let him assume control, Jeremiah's demands were met with laughter from his father who just once more called him a pathetic child still hiding in the cupboard from the boogeymen. As it looked like Amadeus would continue to demean his son however, his health would begin to fail him as he collapsed to a knee. Jeremiah would smirk sadistically as he revealed he'd swapped his father's medication and watch coldly as Amadeus collapsed from a fatal heart attack.

As we'd soon find however this was more than just a son lashing out against his father. This was a targeted attack by the combined effort of Quincy Sharp, Jeremiah Arkham, Lyle Bolton and Alyce Sinner to assume complete authority of the asylum. Thanks to this power play we would very much begin to see a brutal outlook begin to take over the Asylum. As not only would Quincy Sharp begin to abuse his power but Lyle Bolton would begin to cruelly torment the prisoners in an effort to bolster their worst traits. This in turn would make them more amenable to Alyce Sinner's game plan. Tragically as we'd find Mortimer Drake's prediction was correct as we'd find that Junkyard Dog would be murdered by Doodlebug as per his latest mural. Seeing the chaos and the carnage in the asylum reaching a boiling point Aaron Cash would say that they need to do something and take the asylum back. It would be then that Roy Westerman would confide in Aaron Cash the truth in regards to Matches Malone. While far from happy to be pulled into this situation, Aaron Cash would tell Westerman that they needed help before everyone in this asylum tore one another apart.

Seeing that his plans have opposition Lyle Bolton would elect to put all the criminals in gen pop together this included Mad Dog and Jane Doe who had both been freed from captivity. However showing there was machinations even he wasn't truly aware of or that no one was, a steadily more unstable Jeremiah Arkham acting on his own accord had armed several of the criminals. This would lead to the general population becoming a battle field which the guards could not contain and saw several orderlies including Kiana Barnes put at risk. Despite his selfish nature Byron Meredith and the lazy Phil Cho would help get Kiana to safety while we'd see Emily Parker and Aaron Cash help many of the guards get to safety while some staff members would tragically lose their lives in the carnage. Showing his deeply cowardly nature underneath his powerful exterior Quincy Sharp would barricade himself in his office while Lyle Bolton looked to armor up and rally his troops. During all this chaos Hugo Strange would further prove his intellect as he brokered a deal with Mortimer Drake and Garfield Lynns. In return for them protecting him, he would take them to a back exit where they could make their escape. This however would not be before Lynns lit a fire which caught ablaze in the asylum. As Strange made his escape he would again prove his wily intelligence as he let these two criminals escape before contacting the GCPD to further notify them of the carnage.

With the GCPD task force looking to breach the asylum and the blaze spreading. Lyle Bolton would look to command his officers to join him in the field as he said now was the time for lethal force. Stepping up Aaron Cash would decree he had enough of being involved in this war. Bolton would fire Cash but in response Aaron would punch Bolton before taking a gun and promising to get everyone out to safety. He would be joined by Parker, Cho, Westerman, Barnes and Meredith as they looked to leave. In the process both Parker and Cash swore they would return for Gordon but for now he would have to survive. As Gordon looked to navigate the gen pop he would see mayhem abound. The brash and loud Film Freak becoming the latest victim of having his throat cut out by the Mime. Yet just as quick as she had claimed a life, the mime would also be struck down with her own weapon by Jane Doe who in turn began to paint her face with the mimes own smeared paint. Crazy Quilt meanwhile would be another tragic victim of the Asylum along with Tallyman II of the villainous Doodlebug. Humpty Dumpty and Lunkhead would also have their lives tragically claimed by a shocking source as Mortimer Kadaver who through this whole series had remained quiet but kept his eyes locked ahead struck down both with ease. Just as it looked like Mad Dog would confront Matches Malone for a rematch from earlier he would have his neck snapped by Kadaver.

It would be then for the first time that Kadaver spoke in haunting fashion as Gordon removed his prosthesis hoping to reach Kadaver and make him step down. Kadaver however made it clear that he had little interest in sparing anyone. Instead all he was here to do was kill. A brutal fight between the pair would follow as Kadaver relished in taunting Gordon that he couldn't feel pain. This mean Gordon's attempts to disable and disarm Kadaver would prove fruitless as Kadaver had little issue relocating joints or snapping broken bones back into place. While Aaron Cash and Emily Parker led the GCPD into the building we would see Gordon be forced to slam Kadaver across an upsidedown metal table impaling him on the table leg. As Kadaver bled out with a look of contentment on his face we would see Doodlebug shot and killed by GCPD officers while Jane Doe would be arrested. Several other patients would be captured or killed in the chaos while Barbara reconciled with her father. A stunned Lyle Bolton meanwhile would stumble through the corridoor only to come face to face with Amygdala. Looking to assert authority over the mindless Amgydala, Bolton wouldn't count on Amygdala remembering his taunts and we'd see him in turn proceed to slam Bolton head first against the wall multiple times over until his neck snapped.

With the GCPD now aware of the corruption and also looking to seize those responsible. We would quickly see Alyce Sinner show where she stood as she blindsided a young deputy and swiped their gun. This however was not to escape as despite Sarah Essen's attempts to talk her around, we would see Alyce Sinner shoot herself dead. Quincy Sharp and Jeremiah Arkham however would both be taken in with Quincy Sharp looking to make a deal in an effort to save himself. In the fallout from the Asylum raid and a manhunt being issued for the escaped inmates. We would see Hugo Strange as per his arrangement with the mayor now installed as the new head of Arkham Asylum. In one of his first acts as the head he would promote Aaron Cash to his new chief of security and ask him to carry out any and all background checks on stuff both present and future. This includes the soon to arrive Harleen Quinzell. We would also learn in the aftermath of Hugo Strange's takeover that Jeremiah Arkham following a psychiatric evaluation would be deemed criminally insane and would be one of the Asylum's newest residents.

As this series would begin to wrap itself up James Gordon would meet with Marion Grange while we'd see a montage of clips. Troubled from his experiences Gordon wished that could have gone differently but Crane remarked that despite some harsh choices, the rot in the asylum had been cleaned. Pausing however Gordon would hesitate to answer as he thought of Quincy Sharp. While William Petit with the little knowledge he knew, may have now been trapped in Blackgate. However before then he'd need an evaluation, which would be carried out by an arkham doctor who led the confinement wing and who to this point had very much stayed in the shadows. This would be doctor Jonathan Crane (Zachary Quinto) and on seeing Crane, Quincy could only barely contain his fear. During later scenes we would see a trembling Sharp also brought to the asylum as all he could say over and over again was the word Scarecrow. In his office meanwhile Hugo Strange would praise Dr. Crane as he says that the Asylum is now under their watch. In the closing moment of this miniseries Gordon would contemplate to Marion did they truly cleanse the asylum or did they eliminate one threat so that a bigger one could take it's place.

HARLEY QUINN DC CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT

Following the end of Escape from Arkham. A tease was shown for the character of Dr. Harleen Quinzell making her arrival to the DC Extended Universe. A popular character first brought to life in Batman the animated series. It was said in a similar fashion to Karen Fukuhara who will be reprising her role as Katana, producers were eager to work with Margot but sadly due to timing and scheduling conflicts there would be no reprisal of the role.

Unfortunately as producers began to look into just who could play their iteration of Harley Quinn, A few names would quickly be ruled out despite being believed to be strong fits for the role. As both Margaret Qualley and Samara Weaving were already cast in roles as part of the DCEU already. A few names we do know who underwent meetings and talks for the role were Emmy Rossum, Jodie Comer, Mia Goth and Amanda Seyfried before it seemed that writers had settled on Ella Purnell. While Purnell was said to have truly delivered a great audition, it was said a decision was made late in the process to offer Ella an alternate role which they felt she was a more suitable fit for.

DC CONFIRMS NEW CASTINGS

Following the recent outlining of chapter ten. A series of new character led pieces have been confirmed introducing some new characters to the DC Extended Universe. An on stage announcement soon followed at a recent DCEU fan expo where five new casting announcements have been made. The first of which is for the character of Rip Hunter who will receive his own solo film as part of Chapter Ten. This of course will not be the first time Rip Hunter has been brought into live action with Arthur Darvill memorably portraying the character as part of the Arrowverse's Legends of Tomorrow. While writers and producers were said to be fans of Darvill and his performance. The prospect of bringing him back was not one of consideration, instead writers have elected to go with a lot different of a take on the character in comparison to the one he portrayed. It is said that the selection process for Hunter was very much a select one with only a few names believed to have been auditioned. One confirmed name was Mindhunter star Jonathan Groff, who we now know will be playing a different role in the DCEU. It can be confirmed that the actor playing Rip Hunter, will be no stranger to the superhero genre. As Smallville actor Justin Hartley will be bringing Rip Hunter to the big screen.

200.gif

A curious origin film has also been confirmed for this chapter. As it will focus on the story of Cassandra Cain. With the League of Assassins being established gradually in the DC Extended Universe. We do know that plans are in motion for them to be further established by the time this film comes around. Not only do we know that the League will feature strongly in this film but they will heavily feature in other DC projects. For the casting of Cassandra Cain we know directors were looking for an actress who could truly deliver an emotionally starved performance with minimal speech. One name who was quickly met with was Miya Cech but after deliberation we can confirm Seo Hyn Ahn will be bringing Cassandra Cain to the big screen. A big part of her story will be her relationship with her father David Cain. For the role of David, writers wanted an actor capable of blending natural charisma, calm authority and the ability to smile while being emotionally cold. Based on this profile, there was only one actor that writers felt could achieve this and selected Timothy Omundson to portray David Cain.

f993b7050390a9c47847896345df5389.gif

We would then follow with the story of Carrie Kelley. A popular DC figure and member of the Batman family. The Carrie Kelley story is described as an optimistic tale which will tell of a woman inspired by Batman who felt a fearless if slightly reckless need to follow in his footsteps. While we can now confirm that Wes Bentley will appear in this story as Bruce Wayne/Batman. For the casting process of this character we know writers wanted someone who could hold attention and sell the defiance and conviction of the character. Rumors did indicate for a time that this role was in fact offered to stranger things star Millie Bobby Brown but due to scheduling conflicts these talks didn't last for long. We can confirm now that playing the role of Carrie Kelley will be actress McKenna Grace.

source.gif

The final casting announced in this series of introductions would be for the character of Mia Dearden. Set to make her arrival in the Roy Harper (Jacob Bertrand) miniseries. This will serve as the introduction for a character who has been described as a true survivor, who is defensive as well as compassionate. A quick witted and fiercely loyal individual, we know that writers wanted someone who could truly bring the survival instincts of Mia Dearden to life. It is believed that unlike many of the casting processes for the DC Extended Universe. There was no varied casting process or originally chosen names dropping out. Instead we know that only one actress was positioned for this role and accepted it following discussions. So we can confirm that Wednesday star Emma Myers will play Mia Dearden.

As one of the most anticipated entries in the DC Extended Universe so far, this film would serve as the DCEU debut of Supergirl. Played by the multi award nominated actress Saoirse Ronan. This film boasted perhaps one of the most packed cast lists and group of characters. Adding to the anticipation for this movie would be that it was a direct continuation from the end of Superman II. This would show Kara's pod crashing just outside of Metropolis and Clark (Matt Bomer) rushing to the scene. This of course would be the exact end of Bizarro World and we'd see what happened next but not from Clark's perspective instead we'd see it from Kara. Waking up in a state of confusion and overwhelmed by this new, foreign world and the bright sun. Kara would lash out and attack the first person that crossed her path this being Clark. Recognizing that she was like him and had the same powers he did, Clark would attempt to reach Kara. While Kara would refuse to listen to him she would soon come to a halt on seeing the crest on his chest.

Recognizing this crest as Kryptonian. Kara would stop as she began to ask questions in regards to where this was and it would be here that Kara came to realize this was in fact her cousin. Clark in turn would recognize Kara from his family tree and he promised to bring her somewhere where they could talk without distraction. This of course would be the Fortress of Solitude and it would be here that Clark told Kara his story to put her at ease. In turn as Kara began to feel more comfortable she would tell her side of Krypton's destruction having been old enough to remember. This would serve as an origin for Kara and be a great nod to Smallville with the casting of her parents in what was a fun nostalgic look back. The daughter of Alura In Ze (Kristin Kreuk) and Zor El (Tom Welling). Her mother as we'd learn was a Kryptonian Scientist while her father was a Kryptonian architect and builder. Zor El in many ways would be the total opposite from his brother Jor El. While Jor El looked to prevent Krypton's destruction amidst it's uprising. Zor El would be a little more pragmatic and look instead to save what of Krypton he could. With the help of his wife they would construct a done to salvage part of Krypton known as Argo City.

However while Argo City would be a salvation to some of Krypton's population. It would as we'd learn only be a short term fix in the grand scheme of things. Yet it would as we'd learn provide Zor El and Alura to raise Kara and look into alternate methods to save their home. When Kara would begin to reach the age befitting a series of Kryptonian trials to find her purpose. Her parents out of love and their pride for their daughter would provide Kara a specially designed suit of Armor. This would as we'd learn have an ulterior meaning also as when Kara would first try on the suit. We would soon find a built in sedative in the suit would knock Kara out. As Kara would begin to stir her last memories in her haze would be her father apologizing as he said that they could not save Argo City in time from a series of upcoming meteor showers. But that they could offer Kara the same chance her cousin was as they put her in a pod with plans to send her to earth. However during the meteor shower Kara's pod would be knocked of course and drift in space. For reasons unknown to her she would experience slowed aging in this time meaning that her former baby cousin was no in fact her elder.

Wanting to help Kara as much as he could knowing exactly how overwhelming this is but acknowledging his work as a superhero may limit just how much help he can be. Yet he did have other ideas in mind to further aid his cousin. While Clark and Kara continued to talk we'd be introduced to another key part of the story. This would be thanks to a government operation funded and run by businessman and billionaire Simon Tycho (Kevin Alejandro). Very much reminiscent of an Elon Musk like figure who was obsessed with aliens and space. It seemed what truly appealed to Tycho was Kryptonians and their properties. Yet Tycho would know fully well thanks to his notoriety, he would not be able to make a move against Superman. Aiding Tycho in his work would be his team of staff including Jacobs (Marshall Allman), Miss Thorn (Kelly Overton) and former soldier Tom Smythe (Grant Bowler). Shown very quickly to have his own wants and needs despite working with the government in the clean up and containment of this alien vessel. Simon Tycho would say in confidence to his staff that he believed this alien was as good as his. Meanwhile continuing to look to make the best life for Kara, Clark would first introduce her to Jonathan (Steve Carrell) and Martha Kent (Laura Linney).

Recognizing Kara's angst and feeling of loss which makes her situation vastly different from Clark who couldn't remember his life before. It would be Martha Kent who first reached out to Kara as she said that Kara would need a support system to overcome her trauma. On top of this, Kara would need help truly assimilating to humanity having only lived as a Kryptonian before. Kara while respectful to the Kents was shown to be moody, hesitant and resistant in the face of humanity. She was also taken aback by Jonathan Kent and Martha's willingness to greet her as family. Knowing that they was older and perhaps unable to give Kara the true care and support full time she needed. They had reached out to a trusted pair of friends from National City, this would be Eliza Danvers (Carrie Preston) and her husband Jeremiah (James Tupper). Along with being trusted friends who were also aware of Clark and his upbringing, on top of this both thanks to their careers in the government were very much aware of how to keep Kara hidden. Eliza would be a former DEO operative with a vested knowledge of their practices and systems while Jeremiah in his continued work with the government managed to keep his ears open for knowledge on Kara.

At the same time their daughter Alex Danvers (Amelia Rose Blaire) was a budding agent having not long succeeded in becoming a police detective. While Jeremiah and Eliza would greet Kara warmly, things between Alex and Kara were tense with some resistance being met on both sides. However in time we'd see thanks to the urging of Clark that Kara looked to build some bridges with her sister. Despite her lack of understanding humanity Kara did show some willing in reaching out and soon her and Alex while not close would begin to form some mutual respect. With Clark checking in as much as he could, Clark would also introduce Kara to Lois Lane (Allison Brie). It would be Lois who first implored Kara to find a life on earth and not just live in shelter. To find things which interest her and help her find her place. While this would see Kara begin to try and find her place in the world, at the same time we'd see Simon Tycho meet in private with his silent partner. This would be another Kryptonian who has hidden himself on earth since General Zod made his arrival. Once a loyal soldier of Zod who was swayed on earth by Jax Ur, we'd learn that Fer Goer (Eric Johnson) no longer saw Earth as a chance to restore Krypton but instead saw it as a chance of evolution for his species with himself at the top of the kingdom. In turn he'd align himself with a power hungry Tycho promising to make him powerful and godlike in return.

With the villains having a little more establishment we'd move back to Kara and her attempts to settle on earth. While Kara's anger had subsided and we'd see despite her great losses Kara begin to return to her more bubbly self. Yet even as Kara began to see the light thanks in part of Clark's presence in her life as well as the love shown by the Danvers feeling, Kara despite being encouraged by Lois Lane struggled to determine what would be the next step in her life. Yet soon Kara would find a mentor figure in one of the Danvers neighbors. This would be Ida Berkowitz (Fiona Shaw), a former school teacher and landlady. It wouldn't take long for Ida thanks to her drive and intelligence to remind Kara of her own mother. With this close bond it was Ida who encouraged Kara to pursue higher learning. As Kara began to consider her studies, she would notably be more happier seemingly having found a purpose in her life. Spending her time with Ida, Kara would also encounter Ida's tenant John Ostrander (Luke Grimes). Unlike many who Kara had encountered Ostrander was a loner and wished to keep to himself. While some may have perceived him as a drunk it was Kara who recognized like her, he had experienced great loss.

During a conversation with Ostrander, Kara would speak of her loss albeit while keeping her origin secret. Ostrander would in turn talk about how he was a widower and struggling to find his place in this world with this loss. As the two continued to talk Ostrander would find for the first time someone who understood what he was going through. Spurred on by Ida, Kara would sit in on some lectures as she looked to find a topic which truly caught her attention. Kara would soon be noticed by one lecturer by the name of Cheryl Dellarye (Cassidy Freeman) and her boyfriend Daryll Simmons (Aaron Ashmore). While this pair would greatly welcome Kara with Cheryl wanting to help her find her way. It would be Daryll who for the first time would express Anti Alien sentiments in regards to Superman. This would be a first for Kara who until this time had only seen human kindness, yet she would be undaunted by this as Ida taught her the true fact of humanity. Everyone had their secrets and imperfections and that Simmons was someone with his own insecurities. Kara meanwhile in her further acts of developing humanity would with the help of Ida introduce Johnny Ostrander to a fellow neighbor Joan Raymond (Anna Camp).

While these two would be polar opposites with Joan being warm and friendly. We'd soon learn like Johnny, she had experienced great loss and the two would quickly share a bond as they grew closer. This would further improve Kara's attitude on seeing what happens when she tried to make a difference. Adding to Kara's attempts and successes in humanity and earth would be her relationship with Alex Danvers. As while at first things between the pair were hostile, we'd see a slow bond form between the two with Kara finally knowing what it was like to have a sister. Yet as Kara's personal life began to grow we'd see Simon Tycho and Fer Goer begin to make a plan to draw out the alien. Saying if she was anything like Superman she would want to help, this is why Fer Goer began to plan an attack on Nation City in the hopes it would spur her into action. As Simon's influence continued to grow Jeremiah Danvers was not thrilled to see Simon Tycho and his people gaining more government influence.

Not trusting Tycho or his staff having dealt with the slimy Jacobs and aloof Thorn. Confiding to his colleague Michael Harris (Tod Lowe) that something wasn't right about this. Jeremiah and his research into Tycho would find that Tycho had been working alongside Anthony Ivo (Michael Stuhlbarg). A prolific scientist known at times for his unscrupulous methods. Based on his personal fear of death, Ivo was a man obsessed with avoiding his own fate and strived to cheat it as much as he could. This is what led to Ivo studying with various genetics both human and alien alike as well cybernetics and other enhancements. Knowing he may not have any means to stop Simon Tycho, Jeremiah would confide to Michael in regards to his suspicions but unbeknownst to him Michael was very much on Tycho's pay roll. Selling his friend out for money it seemed even Michael was unsure of what his actions would lead to as later that very evening Jeremiah was led away by chief of security Tom Smythe. Despite showing some noted reluctance into what he had been tasked to do, Smythe would reveal to Danvers that he didn't want to do what he had to but Ivo and Tycho were holding his sister. Saying he can only make things quick and painless in a shocking moment Tom Smythe would shoot Jeremiah Danvers dead.

While this death and the body of Jeremiah would only be discovered a short time later. At the very same time however Fer Goer having managed to access Kara's pod and watch videos left to her by her family. Would know her story and origin. With this knowledge Fer Goer would not only attack National City but he'd proceed to live on camera begin to taunt Kara about Argo City. Despite Eliza's warnings that this was a trap, Kara would rush into battle to confront Fer Goer. Albeit reckless in her decision to rush after Fer Goer, Kara would manage to hold her own in battle with him. Unfortunately while Fer Goer had plans to take her to Simon Tycho's lab for a potential trap. He didn't count on Kara's one key difference to Superman. This being while Kara may have been learning what it was to be human. She didn't have the same level of humanity as her cousin. Unfortunately this meant during the battle several of the laser beams these two would fire off collided and hit the gas pipes in the building and thanks to several experiments and chemicals through the building this would trigger a bunch of explosions. In what was a shocking twist we would see in an instant Miss Thorn, Jacobs and Simon Tycho all killed instantly.

Continuing on this shocking trend of moments we would see Kara manage to break the neck of Fer Goer killing him in an instant before she'd rush into hiding as the DEO and other operations would arrive on the scene. In the fall out from this we'd learn that Tom Smythe on his deathbed from the explosions would tell all in a candid interview exposing Tycho and his people for crimes. Adding to this would be a tearful and distraught Michael Harris being consumed by his own guilt before committing suicide not before revealing his story and involvement in the death of Jeremiah Danvers. While we would have to wait briefly to see the shock from the Danvers family at the loss of one of their own. We would be introduced to two new power players in this film. Namely Lena Luthor (Madison Pettis) and Lauren Haley (Mekia Cox). Lena of course was the adopted sister of Lex Luthor and while at first we didn't get to learn much of who she was as a person she did very much say early on she was looking to restore and rebuild her families name. Haley meanwhile was a military general who as we'd learn was personally assigned to work alongside Tycho and his projects. Yet as she was very unhappy to learn she had been kept in the dark about his dealings with Anthony Ivo. Ivo being a disgraced scientist of whom both Lena and Haley were aware but not aware Tycho had been funding.

Having made his escape to a private location Ivo as we'd learn in his experiments had taken some captives. This included Tom's sister Siobhan Smythe (Rebecca Ferguson). Yet as we'd soon learn as smart as Ivo was and as ambitious as Tycho was and as driven as Fer Goer was. None of these powerful individuals were aware of the fact that they had all been played, manipulated and used by a being known as Indigo (Kaitlyn Dever). Indigo as we'd learn was just believed to be a computer program or a form of AI from an alien species by Fer Goer, Ivo and Tycho. A tool just to be utilized for their own designs and means. In truth however Indigo was a future based lifeform apart of the Brainiac program. One who had been trapped in a form of technological stasis until Ivo, Fer Goer and Tycho began using her systems as part of this research. In turn Indigo was able to grow and break free of her chains as she used Ivo and his ego to carry out experiments of his own design and assisted in activating Meta Human genes in what she deemed as a select few. This included Siobham Smythe who would turn into what she called a curse which haunted her family the Silver Banshee. As Siobhan began her monstrous transformation it would be then that Indigo revealed to Ivo that he was truly just a pawn in her game.

While Indigo used her machinery to construct a physical body for herself. Anthony Ivo would be attacked by Silver Banshee and horrifically clawed by Banshee leaving him wounded and heavily scarred. As we'd learn however it wasn't just Silver Banshee that Indigo had set her sights on. As we'd see flashbacks to the Kryptonian fight between Kara and Fer Goer. While many rushed to get away to safety one person that did not was a shock jock radio host known as Leslie Willis (Kaitlin Olson). A former employee of the Daily Planet who was fired for her expose style news and willingness to bend or break the truth for a good story. Since then she had been craving fame by any means necessary and this included being the first person on scene at the Kryptonian battlefield however she would put herself in harms way and wind up hospitalized as a result of the explosion. Yet as she awoke from being knocked out, Leslie would find herself capable of electric powers and promises by Indigo of her to reclaim her former glory. The final recruit would be Gayle Marsh (Ivanna Sakho). A troubled woman who was living in a homeless shelter having escaped an abusive relationship. This would be until Indigo played on her hard life and made her a promise that she would never be scared again as she turned her into the villain Psi.

With the rise of these powerful metahumans we would see the government and military in turn begin to converge on national city. This would include Alex Danvers who had finally reached her dream of working alongside the government and it would be here that she'd meet General Sam Lane (Clancy Brown) as well as his daughter Lucy Lane (Ali Cobrin). Alex would be concerned however as she realized a big part of this meeting was The Lane family pondering if this was in fact a new Kryptonian threat. As more bodies were uncovered from the accidents and through Smythe's testimony. This allowed the Danvers family the opportunity to finally grieve and memorialize Jeremiah Danvers. During this memorial service we would see Lucy Lane be a surprise guest as she looked to pay her respects to the family and offer her sympathies. Grieving at the loss of another family member Kara would be consumed with doubt, rage and self loathing. While Alex and Eliza would prove a big support from her this would get to her at the service as she rushed away to take a moment to herself. Devastated by the loss Kara would be met by a surprising figure in Lena Luthor. Apologizing to Kara for her loss, Lena would say that she knows what it is like to lose her family and to suffer. In a shocking moment Lena would then reveal that she knows Kara was the other Kryptonian who was in that battle.

While a stunned Kara could only listen Lena would say that she knows the isolating feeling of being adopted and having to settle into a new way of life. But from what she can tell Kara has a loving family here while Lena had to grow up with Lex as a brother and her cruel, cold parents. Yet ironically despite being looked down on and frequently demeaned by her brother she did what he never could do and that is learn both of Kara and who Superman was. Saying that she has no interest in retreading her families mistakes or problems and instead only wants to truly make a difference in this world. She says that she can see the same want to help from Kara. Calling her helping Kara as a means for redemption against whatever threat is facing this city, Lena leaves Kara with a lot to think about as she calls her National City's hope. Unsure of what to do next Kara would talk with Eliza Danvers who told her that just like her cousin she came to this earth wearing the symbol of hope and now it was her time to be just that. While Kara was spurred on by this talk we'd see Alex begin to struggle with her impartiality as Haley and Sam Lane seemed firmly on board of capturing this Kryptonian threat believing the rise in metas to be a targeted attack.

While Kara found her purpose we'd see Indigo's forces seemingly growing stronger. In particular the villainous Psi who's psionic abilities were steadily gong stronger by the day but because of her trauma, past and issues she'd struggle to contain and control them. Coldly recognizing Psi as a liability and no longer a soldier Indigo would send her out into the wild on what she thought was a mission but instead to test the capabilities of this new Kryptonian. While Kara donned the suit she wore from her arrival to earth we'd see Psi begin to go on a rampage through national city. Confronting Psi, Kara would be haunted by visions of her parents sacrifice, the destruction of Krypton and the death of Jeremiah Danvers. While her grief for a moment would nearly consume her Kara would soon be flooded with memories of Alex, Clark, Eliza and her new friends on earth. This would allow her to push through her trauma and not only stop Psi but also rescue several soldiers of Haley who had been corrupted by Psi and her gifts. While Psi would be taken in by the government we'd see this as a turning point for Haley who began to question her own opinions of the Kryptonian. National City meanwhile would begin to hail and praise the arrival of it's very own hero Supergirl.

With Psi defeated and Supergirl being the talk of the town. Indigo begin to recognize the threat of their enemy but in a surprise it was revealed she still had Kara's pod having rescued it from the tycho building. Indigo would use this to further study the Kryptonian but would be distracted from something in her own team. As while she may have accounted for Psi's instability. It appeared even Indigo couldn't comprehend the ego and fame hungry mindset that had consumed Leslie Willis. Livid that a powered individual would get the exposure she felt she rightly deserved. Leslie Willis under the moniker of Livewire would go public as she took the national city news team public and challenged Supergirl. Demanding the recognition she has always coveted we would see Willis' public showcase draw the attention of General Lane and Haley. While Lane remained convinced that this Supergirl was a threat it would be Haley who stepped up and said it was clear that Supergirl was trying to help. Coming at loggerheads, Haley would overrule Lane and make a plan for her military to stop and support Supergirl. Rushing onto the scene Kara would confront Willis and go to battle with her. Showing her growth as a hero not only would Kara not kill Willis but she'd also save several innocent lives as she managed to knock out Livewire.

Unfortunately as Haley and her unit looked to contain Willis, they would soon be over ruled and overhauled thanks to the appearance of Rick Flag (Jensen Ackles). Remarking that they would be taking Leslie Willis and Psi into their custody. Haley could only look on as a chained Willis was taken away by ARGUS. Slowly coming to see and become more aware of the humanity that Clark spoke of, Kara would meet with Lena Luthor who in a goodwill gesture designed her a costume similar to her rebirth attire. At the same time Lena would reveal that Tycho and Ivo's documents they recovered spoke of a much more dangerous threat this being Siobhan Smythe the still missing sister of Tom. Showing how bold she was willing to go with these soldiers Indigo's plan for Siobhan was simple to attack the military units in the city to show them how weak they was. Despite their earlier lack of trust this attack would have Sam Lane and General Haley putting their differences aside to save their soldiers. This included Sam Lane stepping in front of his daughter when it looked like Lucy Lane was to become a victim of Silver Banshee. With Lena communicating with her by a headset Kara would face off with the Silver Banshee and found herself reeling truly from the damaging sonic abilities which Banshee used every time Kara came close. It would be Kara who in a true display of her humanity who advised the soldiers all to lower their weapons. As Lena spoke to Kara of Siobhan's treatment and experimentation Kara begins to talk to Siobhan about the anger and rage she must be feeling.

For the first time Siobhan would show some strength and power as she managed to overcome the Banshee and revert to her human form. Breaking down into tears, Siobhan would be comforted by Kara as she looked to turn herself in. Arriving on the scene Lena Luthor would rush through and promise to do all she can to help her while in a big moment Lucy Lane would agree to also help in anyway she can. Nodding her head in agreement Lauren Haley would agree when Siobhan warned them of the biggest threat this would be Indigo. While the group was unsure what this meant finally Sam Lane would reveal some news which is Argus also captured a badly wounded Anthony Ivo and while he was in their captive he warned them of Indigo. As did Leslie Willis and Psi, on learning the truth of Indigo Lauren Haley would confront Sam Lane saying she knows he sees potential in weaponizing Indigo and controlling her but she needs to be destroyed. In turn Lena Luthor would say if she could be rehabilitated there was a lot of potential for her to help the world. It would be then however Indigo hijacked their feeds and she called for Supergirl to join her at Ivo's lab while revealing that she also had Kara's ship.

With Indigo's challenge, Supergirl would fly to the location even though Lena warned her that this was potentially a trap. Commenting that regardless she had to stop Indigo it was Lena who told everyone to trust Supergirl to make the right decision. The only person opposed to this was Sam Lane yet it would be Lucy Lane who ordered her father to stand down and trust her. Albeit with resistance Sam Lan would listen to reason while Kara appeared at the lab. Here Indigo would reveal she knew all about the Kryptonian species from her research but that as strong and powerful as they profess to be, she doesn't see a threat in Kara. A remorseless and cold being Indigo wasn't like the rest of Kara's opponents this was a pure machine who had constructed a suit making her capable of regeneration and reconstruction. Showing herself capable of being stronger than Kara and definitely smarter it was Indigo's thirst for knowledge which would be her downfall because as Kara crawled towards her pod. Indigo would try to insert her consciousness into the pod. Yet the one thing Indigo did not count on was this activating the last of the pod's defenses and the ships protection appearing in the form of Kara's father would heavily damage Indigo. This tragically would be at the cost of the program as Zor El could only tell Kara of his pride before vanishing. With her system badly damaged Indigo's physical body would then be destroyed by Kara, with her consciousness shutting down Indigo in an effort to save herself would try to download her brain into one of the computers only to be trapped in a virus remotely installed by Lena which allowed the military to show up and bind Indigo's consciousness in a faraday cage like program.

With Indigo defeated and destroyed this program would be handled by Lauren Haley who promised Kara that this would be buried with no chance of Indigo being freed. After thanking Kara for her service Haley would leave along with Lucy Lane as the military presence would finally leave National City. Lena Luthor meanwhile would promise Kara that she would always be on hand to help her in the future and help her settle into this heroic role. From here we'd learn that Alex Danvers had personally been hired by Lauren Haley to be apart of her military unit. Kara meanwhile would be met by Clark in the final scene of this movie. Apologizing for not being around due to having his own issues in Metropolis, Clark cannot hide his pride in what his cousin has done as he is thrilled to see that she has finally found her way. Thanking Clark for everything he has done for her, Kara at the close of this film would hover over National City looking down as she said to him that she'd lost everything but thanks to her cousin and several others she had found a new home, family and life!

You need to update the casting directory @Shade.
Thank you for the shout. I was behind on two and through that I noticed two duplicates. One is Emma Dumont. She will be playing a live action Chloe Sullivan but then I have her as the voice of Grail. That I am content to work with as there's been actors to do both in many franchises. The other I have amended was Numan Acar is Al Jabr in Etrigan's story and I'd made him Ulysess Hazard in Blackhawk. I have swiftly rectified that and subbed in Chad Michael Collins for the role.
