xWo Profile 011 | Victor Vain (General Manager of Revenge)
“The Architect of Chaos”
Age:
49
Height: 6’0”
Hometown: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Victor Vain doesn’t run Revenge. He orchestrates it. Once considered one of the most innovative and unpredictable wrestlers of his generation, Victor built a career spanning decades, continents, and countless reinventions. From technical prodigy to arrogant superstar to controversial icon, he constantly evolved while staying ahead of the industry. He headlined arenas, won world championships across multiple promotions, and became known for his sharp mind as much as his in-ring ability. When injuries finally forced him to step away from the ring, many believed his influence would fade. Instead, he returned with more power than ever before. Now the General Manager of Revenge, Victor Vain hopes to shape the future of the brand with the same creativity and unpredictability that defined his career.

YOU PROBABLY THINK THIS PRESS CONFERENCE IS ABOUT YOU!

Victor Vain would call for a press conference ahead of the first event that the newly founded Xtreme Wrestling Organization would be putting on that would also be the premier episode of Revenge which was the chosen brand of the company's weekly show. It had been confirmed that the show would air on Monday Night's, but that although the first episode would be scheduled to run for 60 minutes without advertisements at this time and would be made available for viewing live on YouTube, there was a particular desire that the show should be treated as a main event feature and not supplementary content. Vain would begin the event by announcing the very first match that would take place.

.|- Victor Vain -|.
"Revenge is more than just a fairytale concept for me. Revenge is a project by which I can build a dynasty in my own image and show the world that I truly am the smartest man to ever sit in the gorilla position. That is why there is no need to overinflate the roster, and only bring talent when it is needed. There is no need to put money in people's wallets if they aren't actively competing so whilst the program remains an hour weekly, we may only need a dozen or so workers to make up the roster. I have already conceived a number of faceoffs that are perfectly suited to acting as buildup towards what will be xWo's first special event in a month's time: Chained In. But we can talk more about that in the week's to come, as my main focus right now is to announce the two men that will make history when they go toe-to-toe in the first ever match that will take place and no doubt go down in the record books. Now I feel that the big men deserve a chance to be given the spotlight from the get go, and so that is why that our first contest will be Alex Crusade and Michael Saint. Two men who walk to very different roads of life. And the important difference between lawful good and lawful evil. The match will be fought under a 20-minute time limit, and I certainly hope that the fans are treated to a fitting spectacle because I can promise everyone now that if the match is a disappointment I have problem cycling both of them out for more capable talent."

A promotion match card banner would appear on a mega screen behind Victor before the Revenge General Manager would speaking again.

"Now if you want to get people to take a seat and turn up to events, then you need to offer them something that is going to get them through the doors. So I can't think of something that is going to help attract people to either turn up to the show in person or watch the livestream than a rivalry that already exists. And I have never known a rivalry that is stronger than one that exists between two brothers and that is why when I signed Lance and Mike - the Maus Brothers rather than playing happy families and suggesting they team up I had a much better idea. Maus versus Maus. A regular singles match isn't going to cut the mustard, especially when Xtreme is the first name in our company's name. So that is exactly what we are going to provide. An Xtreme Rules Match. Nothing is off the table, there will be no limits and there will be no time limit. The match will not end until one of them is pinned, taps out or is knocked the fuck out. And to add some extra motivation to the stipulation, whichever of the Maus Brothers wins will be involved in the match at Chained In to crown the inaugural Evo-Division Championship. If that isn't a selling point than I don't know what is."

A second promotion match card banner would appear on a mega screen behind Victor before the Revenge General Manager would speaking again.

"And how will we close the night? Well that is simple. With something fast and explosive. With an international sensation from Mexico taking on a future superstar from Japan. I am of course talking about having 'Doctor Fashion' Delfino Suzuki make his American in-ring debut against one of the most tenacious luchador currently in North America Kai Santana. Depending on how long the match between the Maus Brothers last, will determine how long the match between Suzuki and Santana will last. If we run out of time, then we simply will run out of time and perhaps a rematch will be on the cards. But that isn't just what we have booked for this coming Monday, as we have a number of signings to reveal with talent that haven't yet been announced making their on-screen debuts. So if you have any sense either turn up to the show this Monday in Chicago or tune in live on YouTube. I promise it will be worth your while"

I like the simple format, the easy to read nature of things, and the structure approach to the build up.

That being said, I would like the contextualising posts to actually introduce these characters and people to me rather than a blur of information that I can't really pull anything meaningful from. All the characters read like e-fed characters, as in they are all THE BEST, with all this extensive backstory, but I need a show not tell approach to get behind people, lest it feel like an infodump.

I liked the press conference though, again nicely formatted and an easy read, but typical convention has the Banner with the names above the write up, not below, which threw me for a minute, but that might just be me. I'd also like more show and not tell. The character bios and the press conference write ups feel like "YOU SHOULD CARE ABOUT THIS!" rather than presenting scenarios and occasions that show those attributes. It's a big storytelling issue for me when I am repeatedly told things, and not shown them, that I cannot form an emotional connection with that character. I appreciate that if we lived in the world you've built that we might know them, but as someone that doesnt exist in that world, I dont care about any of the guys you've presented to me so far.

Edit:

To clarify, as I think youve taken this badly. I want to care about the characters, they have interesting things that have happened, but they dont have agency yet for me to connect with them. Lots of info but nothing to hook me and say "this is my guy!". As I said, ive read every word and gave feedback because I like the concept and I like the approach, but this is constructive criticism for areas that I feel can be improved. You are welcome to ignore them.

Part One

The press conference featuring all six men that would begin with Alex Crusade and Michael Saint being escorted from behind the curtain by three xWo ring girls as both men would take seats behind a table in relative close proximity to each other and seems relatively patient and calm with reach other. As a barrage of questions would rattle off from members of the press, before finally some order would be put in place by a member of the media team as the first official question would be put forward to both men.

.|- Sean Ross Sapp -|.
"Both of you are no strangers to competing in the square circle, although by the official record you have never wrestled each other. I suppose what we all want to know is without any history between the two of you, how do you motivate yourself when there is no previous motivating you?"

.|- Alex Crusade -|.
"This is actually a really simple one to answer Sean. I am someone that has always been proud of being real. The person you see in the ring is the same person you see backstage. I am all about putting in the work when it counts and helping my community when I can. So when I step into the ring on Monday, I am not just doing this to make a name for myself, but I am acting as a vehicle and perhaps if I am able to make a good impression then perhaps a few more of my friends from back home will get a chance to become members of the XWO. I am not just here for me. I am here for the community."

.|- Michael Saint -|.
"My original answer was not what I am going to say now, because until this moment I didn't realize how much of a pussy Alex actually is. I joined the XWO because I want to make a statement and to test the future generation, but if this is what the future is putting forward then perhaps I need to switch my tact and put these losers in their place. When that bell rings I am here to fight, and I suddenly have become incredibly motivated to teach Alex about my gospel and give him a Desert Baptism before I knock out his teeth and flatline him with God's Touch. That is how I motivate myself. By hearing the words of weaker men who are not worthy to share the same ring space with me."

.|- Sean Ross Sapp -|.
"Do you have anything you want to say in response to those comments Alex?"

.|- Alex Crusade -|.

"If I am honest not really. Michael is just another old dog that needs putting down. I don't need to respond to his nonsense at this time, he will get a full response on Monday Night. I think the fans will be very happy with what I bring to the table."

Sean Ross Sapp sits down and a member of the media team points to the new member of the press, as Todd Martin would stand up and be given the microphone to ask the next question.

.|- Todd Martin -|.

"Michael, you have a history of destroying and decimating weaker opponents in a matter of minute when they don't match up with you. Do you think that this match is going to get anywhere closer to the 20 minute time limit or do you think this will be a short and quick affair?"

.|- Michael Saint -|.

"This is going to be short and sweet. The crusade is going to end before it even began. I have God on my side and he is going to guide me down the righteous path. Make sure you tune in to the stream right from the start, because if you take too long you might click on the link on YouTube and wonder why Alex Crusade is laying on his back with a dull and vacant look on his face with me standing tall with the referee raising my hand aloft. That is why you need to keep your eyes on the prize and the prize in this situation is me."

.|- Todd Martin -|.

"And do you have a retort for that Alex?"

Alex Crusade wouldn't show any interest in offering a verbal response and just shake his head, which would speak volumes and seemed to only enrage Michael Saint who would instantly turn to face Crusade.

.|- Michael Saint -|.

"Do you think you are better than me Alex? You think you are above a veteran that has actually dedicated over two decades of his life to this sport?"

Alex Crusade would shake his head almost in disbelief and let out a slight chuckle before just placing his microphone down on the table and then just trotting off backstage leaving Michael Saint on his own. Saint would turn and just shrug his shoulder before cutting a promo of his own.

.|- Michael Saint -|.

"I am going to put everyone who is currently signed to the XWO in their place. I have decided it in this very moment. I won't be able to progress any further, until I have secured a victory over the nine other men that are currently working for this promotion. Whether they are a Heavyweight or part of the Evo-Division is irrelevant to me. And I am not a fool who thinks he is going to win every single match he competes in, but as God is my witness until I have claimed those nine victories my thirst for blood will not be quenched. This is the pilgrimage that I have begun, and I hope Victor Vain is listening and does the right thing and lets me keep my pilgrimage on track. Because anyone who is not currently on the list, is simply unworthy of my time and the effort that is attached to it. Alex Crusade is the first name on my list, so make sure you tune in to the show on Monday because I promise everyone it will be worth your while. I am going to break that loser's nose."

Michael then stands up and offers a bow towards the camera before walking off and is escorted backstage by the three ring girls. As the stage is cleared for the next portion of proceedings that will introduce the Maus Brothers.

Part Two

The second part of the press conference would continue with the Maus Brothers actually standing and talking amongst each other as they are led out to the table by three xWo ring girls with both Lance and Mike taking a seat at the table, and before any questions are put forward it is older brother Lance that starts speaking first.

1772032757686-0d1da737-56a0-4648-9085-9a525bda3a6e.png

.|- Lance Maus -|.
"Before any of your brats and losers start firing questions my way or my brothers way I am going to take a moment to speak first. I am a dog of war, and I respect the hustle of Victor Vain. This maniac clearly understands how to book a wrestling show, getting me to fight my brother on the very first night of Revenge is such a wild idea and yet I love it. And for added benefit and to get me and Mike to beat the crap out of each other, having a prize of a title shot being hung over head on our debut matches is wild. But I respect it, because as much as we have been getting on with each other in recent years, we have no problem beating the crap out of each other and putting on a good show. Don't you agree Mike?"

.|- Mike Maus -|.
"Yeah I am very much on the same level as Lance. We have been enjoying teaming up recently in the indies, and actually been on a bit of a run, but if Mr. Vain wants to it us against each other from the get go then so be it. I am game. If I have to smash a chair over my brother's head and then send him through a table to earn myself a title shot then so be it. Game respects game and I have no problem in showing fans new and older why the better brother, is this brother."

The facial expression that Lance is pulling it is clear that he doesn't actually agree with that particular final sentence from his younger sibling.

.|- Lance Maus -|.
"Now lets not get ahead of ourself Micky Mouse. I think everyone knows that I am and always have been the better brother, but I have no problem in letting you ride my coattails as I carry you on my shoulder. Your success has always stemmed from mine, but I am happy for you, even if you seem to have forgotten that I am the only reason you are even in the business. You just need to be humble bro! Stay humble!"
There was something playful about this level of banter, but it was certainly raising a little bit of heat between the two brothers and before a question could finally be put forward Mike would respond.

.|- Mike Maus -|.
"You know damn well that I don't tolerate people calling me Micky Mouse. We ain't in high school, and I don't put up with that stupid name."

.|- Lance Maus -|.
"I will call you whatever I want kid. If i want to remind the word why you will and have always been the backup then that is exactly what I am going to do. You are just a comedy bit, that you folks named you about Disney's Mouse. Except you are a lot uglier than that total chad. I think we are done here though folks. As If I start hitting Mike with anymore truth bombs, he is going to have a tantrum and start crying his eyes out and I don't want to embarrass him like that. "

.|- Mike Maus -|.
"Shut the fuck up bro!"

.|- Lance Maus -|.
"Make me."

.|- Mike Maus -|.
"Oh I will. I will do exactly that and I am going to make you look like a complete fool on YouTube this Monday. "

Before any more tensions rise, a member of the media team interjects to end this second portion of the press.
