I will say nowadays when a celebrity gets involved, there's so much of a higher chance they don't suck lmao I'm assuming it's bc almost all of them are all fans and it's like a collaboration not just them being thrown money to do something they don't care about. And it's like they all appreciate the art of the game so much more too, they wanna take a crazy bump most of the time, just look at that machine gun Kelly loser even.

From the outside it's seemed crazy excessive this year even for mania tho lol just the sheer amount builds up even if they're individually good in their roles bc it's just too much of your average screentime on the show

Also depends on the celeb:

Ishowspeed stuff in a goofy midcard angle = good

jelly Roll and pat mcafee in a cody vs orton feud = bad

I mean yeah I was at Summerslam last year when Jelly Roll got splashed through the table by Logan Paul and it was quite a thing to witness im ngl.

It still takes away from the business imo. I know it’s fake and I know we all know it’s fake but I still believe in trying to make it look real to preserve the integrity lol.

I know nothing about the dude but he's friends with logan Paul so I don't have a good impression, but he's hilarious in the clips I see, funniest dude to watch get beaten up. I respect it

Edit that was about speed lol forgot to specify

So here's the thing.

Logan Paul is not a celebrity performer. He's a WWE Superstar at this point and to say otherwise is disingenuous. McAfee has been with WWE for over 6 years now. While the 2 are famous outside of WWE they don't belong in the celebrity involvement aspect.

Speed and Jelly are the 2 celebs we're talking about. Jelly has been absolutely incredible in the builds. He's real good on the mic. In-ring he's fine for a celebrity. Speed who knows. Dude is athletic so figure the in-ring with be adequate and he's been pretty decent so far with what they've done with him outside of the bell.

WrestleMania 1's main event had an actor in the match, a baseball manager as ring announcer, a whatever the hell Liberace was as a timekeeper, a musician as a manager (who was incredibly involved in the buildup). So I don't see the issue with celebrity involvement at WrestleMania, even in main events.

In a perfect world, I would have had Cody/Randy at the Rumble as Face/Face, with Cody going over clean. The then the McAfee involvement and the heel turn works better. But they needed to give Drew a title run so that's what they did.

It’s fine if the matches are throwaways but I hate when they get involved in main event feuds. Like Travis Scott getting involved in Rock/Cena/Cody was horrible and I don’t wanna see Cody and Jelly Roll vs Randy Orton and Pat McAfee.

Cody vs Randy shouldn’t have celebrity involvement.

Lol that would be far from the worst thing people have said about him on this site.

I’m probably in the minority here but I liked it. Very heavy Britney vibes which I mess with.
