- Roman Reigns with nuclear heat after this because he will forever be the man who retired Daniel Bryan and retained his WWE Universal Championship...Bryan is done he's gone from WWE and now that he is, what is next for Roman Reigns? Who does he face for the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam in the main event? No doubt Reigns main events at SummerSlam on Night 2

- Team Kick becoming the new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions dethroning Sasha Banks & Bayley as champions and they were the longest reigning WWE Women's Tag Team Champions ever...since the inception of those titles they have held it the longest...but now that Dakota & Tegan are champions again...it begs the question of if The Bloodline ie. Naomi & Nia Jax call their shot at those titles for SummerSlam?

- Jacob Fatu...is there anyone who can beat him for that WWE United States Championship? I mean Fatu has been on an absolute tear just destroying anyone and everyone who comes his way...he's like the resident monster here on the blue brand and he's been undefeated so again is there anyone who can beat him for that title?

- Tommaso Ciampa again the roll he's been on he has either beaten former World champions on this brand or he's beaten former champions period and he beats another in Chad Gable...so it begs the question of if Ciampa goes after the WWE United States Championship which means Fatu? Or he goes after the WWE Universal Championship which means The Tribal Chief? Either way that puts Ciampa right in The Bloodline's crosshairs

- Tribal Chief doesn't just have a target on his back but Roman also has to worry about being cashed in on by Mr Money in the Bank Keith Lee who still has that Money in the Bank briefcase and can cash in on Roman at any time...and Lee & Dijakovic beating The War Raiders at least has to put them in the conversation for the WWE Tag Team Championship

- Roman isn't happy with Jey...I figured Roman would crash out...he always crashes out whenever his Bloodline loses matches or anyone tries to calm him down or put him in check like Heyman...Jey did lose to McIntyre and I can imagine Drew is going to target Roman as well and they have history because of Hell in a Cell and McIntyre nearly ending Roman's career

- Swerve Strickland vs Samoa Joe at SummerSlam no doubt happens on Night 1 of SummerSlam

- John Cena beating LA Knight no doubt has to put him in the conversation in regards to Roman's WWE Universal Championship but Edge returning and costing LA Knight his match against Cena...and Cena taking full advantage of Edge's distraction...well Knight had it coming to him as well as Edge's attack on him post match and Edge almost hitting a Conchairto on LA but him barely escaping...I see Edge/LA Knight at SummerSlam

- Becky Lynch returning just in time for SummerSlam...WOW...THE MAN IS BACK!!!! I thought she was done...I didn't think she was ever coming back especially after having her daughter but Becky back and returning post match just as Shayna Baszler becomes the new WWE Women's Champion beating Tay Conti and Becky cleaning house of the MMA Horsewomen is a major statement

- Becky on her 1st night back gets a title match at SummerSlam...makes sense...Becky never lost her Championship and she had to surrender it because of her pregnancy so she was never beaten for that title. It makes sense why she would jump the line ahead of everyone else but then again Tay Conti is entitled to a rematch no I mean rematch clause and all being that she is the former champion and lost her title. Not to mention Charlotte Flair who also wants the title. Shayna Baszler with a huge target on her back...I would make it a Fatal 4 Way for the Championship at SummerSlam but that's just me. Because it showcases the top 4 women of the brand.

- The Mysterios retaining their WWE Tag Team Championship beating Otis & Tucker...that wasn't even the story but what was...was post match seeing Tucker viciously attack Otis and turn heel on him leaving Otis laying...I guess Heavy Machinery is no more

Post-Worlds End News update:

Becky Lynch’s return!

In one of the most shocking moments of last night’s PPV, we saw the return of The Man Becky Lynch, and she made her intentions clear, calling out Shayna Baszler for a WWE Women’s title match at Summerslam in the main event for Night 2. Becky has been out of WWE for over a year while she has been giving birth to her baby girl, Roux. The reason for bringing her to SmackDown Live was a request from Fox, as they wanted a big star as the face of the Women’s division on their show, and the planned top face, Ronda Rousey, is currently out with her own pregnancy, freeing up the slot for Becky Lynch to return to SmackDown!

Daniel Bryan is leaving the company!

After the PPV started with the fans being on top of the world, it ended with the fans having their hearts broken when Roman Reigns ended the WWE career of Daniel Bryan! Bryan’s contract expires next week, and he is expected to be heading to AEW to join them after the company missed out on signing Adam Cole. WWE was trying to convince him to stay, even giving him a Royal Rumble and WrestleMania main event victory, but Bryan had already had his heart set on trying something new. It remains to be seen who will fill the gap in the SmackDown main event picture!

Rumours of the company going up for sale

Lastly, we have heard rumours that Vince McMahon might be putting the WWE up for sale. This comes as a shock to a lot of people who thought it would be inherited by his children Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon but we have heard that the company are looking to make a bunch of “budget cuts” in the coming weeks. Bryan leaving has likely saved some people being cut as that is a huge contract off the books but more names could be in danger in the coming months.

TKO sale is happening and I can see the Vince scandal happening in this diary as well. Nick Khan and Triple H will take over WWE in this diary.

Bryan is going to AEW and now that he is, Alpha Academy has a huge void left

So Becky Lynch to Smackdown gives their Women's division even more star power making it stacked

Monday Night Raw Recap
July 19th 2021
Indianapolis, Indiana
Bankers Life Fieldhouse

HOUSE OF MEMORIES - P!ATD

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Monday Night Raw starts with Rhea Ripley making her way out with a big smile on her face after having retained her Women’s Universal title in the main event of last week’s Raw against Piper Niven. She gets into the ring and says no matter what people throw at her, she remains on top of the division. She holds the title proudly in the air before placing it on her shoulder. She tells the crowd that she has had enough distraction from Deonna Purrazzo and Piper Niven, so now it is time to focus on Summerslam... so she calls out BIANCA BELAIR!

She doesn’t have to wait too long as the E.S.T Bianca Belair makes her way out, getting a huge pop rivalling the one the Women’s Universal Champion had gotten. She wastes no time asking for a microphone and joins Rhea Ripley inside the ring as the two powerhouses come face to face! Belair congratulates the champion on getting it done before saying she is owed a thank you for her assist in taking care of Deonna Purrazzo. There is a slight smile on the face of Ripley, but she shakes her head.

Ripley says she didn’t need any help and she didn’t want any help. Ripley makes it clear that she could handle both members of Cerebrum Et Vires by herself, but if Belair wants to think she did something, she can hold onto that. Belair looks very annoyed but bites her tongue, saying Ripley can think she can take on the world, but there is one person she can’t handle: the E.S.T. Ripley chuckles in response and reminds Bianca that she was the woman she beat back in NXT to become NXT Women’s Champion.

Belair nods and says that’s exactly why she was so happy to end up on Monday Night Raw in the draft. Ripley looks confused as Belair walks around the ring and tells the fans that when she won Queen of the Ring, there was only one champion she needed to beat, and it was her, poking Ripley in the chest. The champion says if Belair touches her again, she'd better get ready for a fight, but the Queen puts her hands up, saying she isn’t looking to fight Ripley tonight… she wants her to be at 100% at Summerslam.

Belair says she already beat the new WWE Women’s Champion, Shayna Baszler, when she became queen, but she has never beaten Rhea Ripley, and she knows she can. Ripley tilts her head, saying why is that and Belair says she is the E.S.T. for a reason, always getting better, always working harder, always fighting to make it to the top of the WWE. She says she is better than she ever was and dares Rhea Ripley to watch her later tonight to see how much better she truly is!

When we return from the commercial break, we cut to the inside of Wade Barrett’s office as the Raw commissioner looks at the camera. He wants to start by congratulating Team Kick on becoming the WWE Women’s tag team champions last night and saying he was always a fan of the team when they were on Monday Night Raw. He says, however, as the commissioner for Monday Night Raw, he selfishly wants one of his tag teams to hold the tag team titles, and it’s been a while since any of his superstars have been able to challenge for the belts.

He has spoken with commissioners William Regal and Shawn Michaels, who agreed to have the tag titles defended in a TLC match with two teams from each brand. He says tomorrow’s NXT will feature two qualifying matches, but his focus is on Raw’s qualifiers. He confirms Riott Squad vs. Blissmoon tonight will be the first Raw qualifier, and adds Shawn Michaels will announce another co-branded match on SmackDown, ending the segment.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Match 1: The Ungovernables (Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo) w/Zelina Vega vs The Bar wThe Miz

Match summary:
The Bar enters the match out of sync, each arriving separately. Sheamus remains furious with Cesaro for costing him the Intercontinental title two weeks ago. The Ungovernables, led by Zelina Vega, follow her instructions as the cousins nod to each other. Early on, The Bar's power lets them dominate the Cruiserweights with ease!

We soon see the issues between The Bar become a problem as they start to bicker and make mistakes, allowing Angel Garza to take advantage, isolating Sheamus in their corner as The Ungovernables start to work him over with rapid tags in the corner. As the match reaches the closing stages, Sheamus escapes the corner and makes the hot tag, allowing Cesaro to run wild like only he can, sending the Cruiserweights flying around the ring before he connects with a RICOLA BOMB TO HUMBERTO! Sheamus, meanwhile, hits the BROUGE KICK to take care of Angel and give The Bar the win!

Winners via pinfall: The Bar (10:38)

The crowd cheers, but The Bar is still far from happy after the match. Zelina Vega checks on her clients and leads them to the back, allowing them to lick their wounds after a disappointing loss tonight. We can see Sheamus and Cesaro in the middle of the ring bickering with each other, leading to The Miz to slide back inside the ring between them and trying to keep them from fighting as we cut to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, the commentary team says that one of their cameramen was taken earlier tonight and we now know why! The camera cuts to show Randy Orton standing in front of a house! The Viper has a sinister smirk on his face before showing the outside of a house, telling the camera that he did give Steve a warning, but the rattlesnake didn’t listen to his warnings. We see Randy Orton breaking into the house before telling the cameraman to follow him inside or else!

We see him going inside and we can see photos of not just Stone Cold Steve Austin over the years but also family members. We see Randy Orton with a baseball bat in hand and starts to smash the photos on the side and trashes the house. Randy finishes his destructive spree, saying Austin must not be home, so he is going to issue an ultimatum to him. He needs to get back to his ranch in the next 30 minutes or… Randy Orton pulls out a lighter… he will burn this whole place down!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The commentary team is in shock as he confirms officials backstage are contacting Stone Cold Steven Austin and the police to try to stop the Viper, but wonders if either of them will make it in time! We then hear the music for The Grizzled Young Veterans as they slowly walk onto the entrance ramp, joined by Trent Seven. The British trio gets loud boos from the crowd as Seven starts by mocking the crowd and tells everyone it is about time the GYV got the shot they were due, a shot at the World tag team titles!

He says that for too long, they were stuck dealing with his former allies British Strong Style, so the tag team division was robbed of the best team in the world being on top. Gibson takes the microphone and starts to do his usual spiel about how they were soon to be number 1 in England, Europe, NXT UK, NXT and now Monday Night Raw. The boos get even louder as Gibson winds up the fans like no one else truly can. He is about to carry on when they are interrupted by The Street Profits!

The crowd goes wild, cheering for the popular duo as they make their way out with the World Tag Team titles around their waist, whilst holding a red cup in one hand and microphones in their other hands. Montez Ford says they were backstage and all they could hear was Zack talking and talking and talking… as Dawkins adds and talking. Montez asks if he is ever going to let his partner James speak! James Drake steps forward annoyed, saying he will speak when he wants to.

He says every word Zack said is the truth, they are the best tag team in the world today and they will soon have the titles to prove it! Angelo Dawkins quips back that they can try to take them, but they are ready for the smoke. Zack shakes his head, saying they can talk all they want about being ready for the smoke, but until they step into the ring with the GYV, they don’t know what they are on about. Montez would challenge either of them to a match and Gibson would accept the challenge for next week’s Raw!

Match 2: Summerslam qualifying match: The Riott Squad vs Blissmoon

Match summary:
Both teams come into this match determined to be the ones that walk out with the chance to enter the TLC match at Summerslam. Ruby Riott starts the match against Alexa Bliss and whilst both teams are familiar enough with each other to work as a team, it is clear that the Riott Squad is much more in sync during this match. It frustrated Ember Moon especially, but she manages to take control of the match when Liv Morgan is tagged back in!

Ember Moon is happy to taunt and anger the fans as the match goes on, with her and Bliss working well to keep her isolated as we head into the closing stages of the match, with Bliss cutting off a hot tag attempt by pulling Ruby off the ring apron! However in the chaos, we hear the music for MICKIE JAMES! Ember Moon distracted by this, sends Alexa Bliss to confront her on the entrance ramp… LIV MORGAN USES THE DISTRACTION TO ROLL UP EMBER MOON FOR THE WIN!

Winners via pinfall: The Riott Squad (8:23)

The fans cheer loudly as Alexa Bliss realizes what is going on too late. The Riott Squad are the ones who are now going to Summerslam! Ember Moon throws a tantrum as the commentary team points out that it is the 2nd Liv Morgan has pinned Ember Moon in the last couple of months. Mickie James meanwhile, at the top of the entrance ramp, smirks as the first hour comes to a close.

When we return from the commercial break, the commentary team says we are being told we are going to cut back to Stone Cold Steve Austin’s ranch and we can see Randy Orton standing there with a lighter and a sickening smirk on his face. He tells the cameraman he gave Stone Cold 30 minutes and he ain’t shown up so it is time to burn it all down! Orton grabs a gas can and starts to pour it on the truck next to them before SETTING IT ON FIRE!

Randy then looks at the property but before much more can happen, we see a car pull up… IT’S STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN! The rattlesnake gets out of the car and sprints at the Viper Randy Orton knocking his can of petrol to the ground before BATTERING HIM WITH A SERIES OF HARD PUNCHES TO THE HEAD! Austin is rightfully furious as the two men brawl on the ground before a swarm of police officers appear on the scene restraining both men before we cut to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we can see The New Day backstage in their locker room hanging out with each other. Kofi Kingston looks deep in thought whilst Xavier Woods is working out before Big E gets off the phone, turning to the rest of The New Day. He says he has spoken to Ilja and given him his best wishes before saying Dragunov wished them luck in kicking the Church’s asses tonight. Woods nods, saying Nathan Frazer robbed him of his rematch with Ilja and now he will avenge him, taking back the Cruiserweight title.

Big E says tonight he will prove to Seth that the title doesn’t need saving and it is where it belongs: within The New Day! Kofi stands up and walks to his close friend, putting his hand on both of their shoulders, saying that he gets a chance to avenge a loss from 2 years ago, referencing when Karrion Kross beat him at WrestleMania 36. He says he was always grateful to Big E for defending his honour after, but Kofi needs to prove to himself he hasn’t lost a step.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before the next match, the commentary team confirms they will give an update on Austin and Orton once they have one from the police. Both men have been taken into custody and Wade Barrett is on the phone to discuss what will happen next!

Match 3: The Ungovernables (Andrade Cien Almas and Shinsuke Nakamura) w/Zelina Vega vs SCRYPTS and Leon Ruff

Match summary:
SCRYPTS and Leon Ruff come into this match looking to cause an upset against the current Intercontinental Champion, Andrade Cien Almas and a former Royal Rumble winner, Shinsuke Nakamura. The two cruiserweights do their best to cause an upset, but they are outclassed by Nakamura and Andrade throughout the short match. In the end, Andrade takes care of Leon Ruff with a SPINNING BACK ELBOW before Andrade follows up with a HAMMERLOCK DDT on SCRYPTS for the win!

Winners via pinfall: The Ungovernables (3:14)

The Ungovernables get to their feet, soaking in the boos from the live crowd. Afterward, Shinsuke acting in a totally disrespectful manner, kicks the Cruiserweights out of the ring. Zelina Vega then enters with a microphone, firing up her clients by declaring she'll continue securing the opportunities they deserve and that The Bar simply got lucky tonight. Andrade takes the microphone, stating, "The Bar fight among themselves, but no matter who wins, they will all lose to Andrade." He holds his Intercontinental title proudly in the air as we cut to a commercial break.

After the commercial break, Piper Niven angrily paces the room, still furious about losing her chance last week to Rhea Ripley for the Women’s Universal title. Deonna Purrazzo enters, smiling, which makes Piper snap. Piper tells her to wipe the smile off her face, causing Deonna to back away. Purrazzo starts to say she knows last week was a disappointment, but Piper picks her up and pins her against the wall.

Deonna is noticeably nervous as Piper makes it clear that Deonna promised her that when this team formed, it would lead to her winning gold. Deonna gulps and says she still has a way for both of them to win gold, but she needs to trust her. Piper puts her down as Deonna explains she has got them a tag team match later in the show and if they win, they will get a Summerslam qualifier next week. Piper takes a moment to think about it, but makes it clear that if she and Deonna don’t win, she will make Deonna pay.

Match 4: Kevin Owens vs Matt Martel w/Chase Parker

Match summary:
Kevin Owens comes into this match, ready for a fight, but seems shocked when Ever-Rise makes their way out alone. Only Matt Martel is dressed for action and when he enters the ring, he is very happy to trash-talk Owens. This proves to be a bad idea with Kevin dominating the majority of the match and tossing the cruiserweight around with ease, hitting him with the STUNNER for the victory!

Winner via pinfall: Kevin Owens (4:00)

Kevin Owens gets to his feet, having picked up a rather comprehensive victory on tonight’s Raw. He is wary and sees Chase Parker looking like he is going to enter the ring… BUT IT IS A DISTRACTION THAT ALLOWS MUSTAFA ALI TO CLOCK HIM WITH A SUPERKICK FROM BEHIND! Owens falls to the mat as Mustafa Ali lays into him a series of punches. Owens tries to fight back but the beat down soon turns into a 3 on 1 mugging with Ever-Rise hitting a DUAL IMPLANT DDT INTO A 054 FROM ALI!

The crowd loudly boos as Kevin Owens is laid out on the ring floor and Ali asks for his henchmen to grab him a microphone. Mustafa Ali bends down and tells Kevin Owens that he started this when he powerbombed him onto the ring apron, a move that could have cost him his career. Ali says he is willing to fight dirty and one day these people will see that he is making a better Monday Night Raw before promising to prove his point at Summerslam making Owens and Ali’s collision official!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut to Aleister Black sitting inside of a dark room with a serious look on his face and the light showing the half of his face that is burned for all to see! Aleister says some people have called his actions wrong and say he is falling down a dark path. We see this cut with clips of Black and Owens arguing before cutting back to Black with Mercy the Buzzard hovering in the background. Black says he let the light take too much of his soul and he needed to remember his own darkness; with the words no man is truly good and no man is truly evil echoing in the background.

He says he went to hell and couldn’t survive, showing clips of him losing to Seth Rollins inside of Hell in a Cell, truly breaking him. He gets to his feet, saying Bray can talk about joining him in the darkness, but what he needs to do to break the darkness is destroy Bray Wyatt. Black says he knows he needs to start with the black sheep of the family, the monster among men Braun Strowman. He tells the camera that last week was the start and he will hunt down Bray Wyatt and his family until he slays them all!

When we return from the commercial break, we cut to inside Wade Barrett's office, where we see Sheamus and Cesaro arguing whilst The Miz tries to keep them both calm. It doesn’t work as both are at each other’s throats, saying they should be the one to fight Andrade at Summerslam. Wade Barrett says there is an easy way to settle this and says next week on Raw, they will fight in a number one contender’s match with the winner fighting Andrade Cien Almas at Summerslam!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to Mickie James sitting in a hallway with a slight smirk on her face and she says it felt good to finally get the upper hand on Blissmoon. She says she has stopped acting on emotion and started using her veteran experience. She tells us that she has spoken to Wade Barrett and she is challenging the pair of them to a tag team match at Summerslam. Mickie promises to tell the fans and Blissmoon who her tag team partner will be next week!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The O.C. makes their way out getting loud boos from the crowd, with Adam Cole leading Jordan Devlin, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows to the ring. He gets into the ring and tells the crowd that it is time for story time with Adam Cole, which gets a positive mixed reaction as the former NXT Champion paces around the ring looking at the live crowd. He says that when he came to Monday Night Raw, he came for one reason and that was to lead the O.C. to the top in honour of his friend Finn Balor!

The crowd boos, but he says that Finn Balor was the leader that the O.C. needed to get them back to the heights they had before, not the leader from the past, AJ Styles! The crowd cheers loudly for AJ Styles, which gets an annoyed look from Adam Cole, who mocks the fans, saying they really can’t let go of the past. He says AJ Styles was great, hell he was “phenomenal” back when he was on top. Cole says his time has passed and he blames AJ Styles for not winning the Championship scramble.

He says Styles was more focused on stopping Cole than winning and it cost them both. Adam says he tried to be a better person and move on, but AJ won’t let him, so instead he is challenging him to a match at Summerslam! The crowd reacts loudly and we don’t have to wait too long as AJ Styles makes his way out, joined by his friend in recent times, Big Cass! AJ Styles has a microphone in hand and tells Adam Cole he is glad he finally stopped being a coward, saying he accepts the challenge and will see him at Summerslam!

The crowd loudly cheers as Adam Cole cuts him off, saying he has issued this challenge because it is time for him to move on from AJ. Cole says he came into the O.C. to avenge Finn Balor and when he beats AJ in the middle of this ring, he will prove it is time for the O.C. to move forward, showing Styles is part of their past. AJ shakes his head, saying that when he beats Cole in the middle of the ring, he will set his eyes on the WWE title whilst Finn Balor is sitting on his sofa watching at home!

Match 5: Bianca Belair vs KiLynn King w/Shotzi Blackheart

Match summary:
Rhea Ripley comes out to start the 3rd hour and takes a seat at the commentary desk. Shotzi Blackheart is at ringside as Belair, early on in the match, goes face-to-face with KiLynn King as the powerhouse looks to intimidate her, but it doesn’t work. Ripley's commentary says that Belair’s refusal to back down is admirable, but it will get her into trouble. Early on in the match, Belair takes control, annoying KiLynn King, and it takes interference from Shotzi Blackheart to turn the tide of this match.

KiLynn King dominates the match and overpowers Bianca Belair, something that we have rarely seen happen to the E.S.T ever since she came to Raw and SmackDown from NXT. Ripley says this match shows how Belair might approach a match with her, and she can right now see the tactics Belair will bring to take her down. Bianca Belair is hard to keep down and is in total control, but Shotzi looks to make her presence felt… RIPLEY LEAVES COMMENTARY AND WIPES HER OUT WITH A RIPTIDE! Belair meanwhile, powers up King and connects with the K.O.D to pick up another victory!

Winner via pinfall: Bianca Belair (7:06)

Bianca Belair gets to her feet and celebrates the victory before locking eyes with Rhea Ripley outside the ring. She climbs onto the ring apron and points at the laid out Shotzi Blackheart, smirking that Belair can thank her. The E.S.T remains in the ring staring down Rhea Ripley as Raw goes to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we cut to Mark Andrews, who is hanging out backstage, and he says he wants to talk about someone he used to respect from the UK independent scene: Nathan Frazer! He says he saw when Nathan was first breaking through and doing things no one else was doing in the UK. He says he was a nice kid who would hang out with his friend Axiom, tagging together and having matches that would impress the whole of the UK.

Mark says Nathan has changed ever since Rollins got in his ears and got his claws into him, seeing a young superstar he can manipulate into a puppet for his goals. Andrews says the way Nathan took out Ilja Dragunov doesn’t sit right with him, and therefore, he is issuing a challenge to the new Cruiserweight champion. He tells Frazer to put his title on the line next week, show that he still has the old Frazer in there, and prove he is a worthy champion.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut to the ring but are interrupted by the theme song for the Firefly Funhouse! Inside the Funhouse, we can see Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman standing in the middle of the room in Mr Rodgers-style jumpers, waving at the camera with a creepy smile on their faces. Bray tells everyone at home that last week he showed Kevin Owens why you should always be polite and show respect to those around you, with the camera flashing to show The Fiend’s face before cutting back to Bray’s creepy smile.

Bray then says one person who hasn’t learned to be polite is Aleister Black, with the fake creepy smile from Braun fading to a scowl for a few seconds before he smiles again. Braun says Aleister has been listening to too many horror stories, but he will gladly help set him on the right path. Rambling Rabbit runs onto the set and starts to panic, saying they can’t unleash the monster and that he needs to stay locked away! Braun responds, though by grabbing the rabbit AND TEARS HIM APART to end the segment!

Match 6: Cerebrum et Vires vs The Twisted Sisters

Match summary:
The commentary team confirms that both teams enter this match eager to impress Wade Barrett and earn a spot in next week’s qualifying match for Summerslam. The Twisted Sisters show more aggression throughout, with Isla Dawn especially looking desperate for a win. However, Deonna uses her smarts to outwit their opponents, setting up Piper to dominate with her power before Deonna locks Isla Dawn in the VENUS DE MILO for the victory.

Winners via submission: Cerebrum et Vires (5:01)

Cerebrum et Vires get to their feet with smiles on their faces, having likely made a good impression on Wade Barrett with the victory tonight. Outside the ring, we can see Nikki with a smaller smile than usual and a furious Isla Dawn, kicking the mat in frustration at another loss.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to the interior of a church. Nathan Frazer, Karrion Kross, and Scarlett Bordeaux kneel in front of a pew, awaiting their leader, Seth Rollins. Rollins strides onto the stage, arms outstretched and a cocky grin on his face, before pausing to address his disciples. He remarks that last week, Nathan demonstrated the power of his teachings and has now saved the Cruiserweight title. Frazer beams, his new title wrapped around his waist.

Seth Rollins says we are now closing in on Summerslam, where he himself will save one more title: the WWE title! He proclaims that Big E is a man who preaches the power of positivity, but these fans don’t need that; they need hate. Rollins bangs his fist on the podium in front of him and says that when he tried to do the same, he was hated by the fans they turned on him. Now it is time for them to feel God’s wrath and in tonight’s main event, they show the New Day how it will all end for them!

Karrion Kross stands and addresses Rollins: "Thanks for your words, as always. But Kofi, if you're seeking redemption from years ago, you’ll find no salvation—only the devil in the ring." Nathan Frazer chimes in: "My god and devil taught me: to get gold, I have to hurt people. Gran Metalik, Ilja Dragunov—if Mark Andrews wants next, I’ll put my title on the line next week."

Match 7: British Strong Style vs Riddick Moss and The Brian Kendrick

Match summary:
British Strong Style comes into this match looking to get back on track after the loss to GYV. Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate work well together, whilst Riddick Moss seems to be trying out Brian Kendrick as a tag team partner ever since the release of his former partner, Mojo Rawley. In the end however, Pete Dunne hits Brian Kendrick with the BITTER END whilst Tyler Bate keeps Riddick Moss out of the ring, giving the team the victory.

Winners via pinfall: British Strong Style (5:09)

British Strong Style get to their feet and celebrate the victory with Tyler Bate having a smile on his face. Pete Dunne has a serious look on his face as the commentary team wonders what is next.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to the backstage area to see K2 standing backstage with their own red cups in hand, hanging by some kegs backstage, having a good time. Kayden Carter and Katana Chance both have smiles on their faces. They say the last few weeks, they have been partying hard and working harder to make it to the top of the women’s division. Katana says she saw what Cerebrum Et Vires did earlier tonight and calls them a good team, but not on their level. Kayden says next week they will beat them and earn a spot at Summerslam, ending the promo saying where else would they be but the biggest party of the summer!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to the backstage area and can see Blissmoon pacing up and down, furious. Mrs Money in the Bank, Ember Moon, throws the briefcase to the ground, screaming how dare Mickie James get involved in their match. Alexa Bliss watches with a slightly unimpressed look on her face at her friend’s tantrum. Alexa says Mickie made the biggest mistake of her career, carrying on this war, but now they have the chance to destroy her at Summerslam. Ember Moon asks her who Alexa Bliss thinks is teaming with Mickie. Bliss says no one in the locker room likes her, so Mickie is all talk, and it will be a handicap match at Summerslam!

When we return from the final commercial break of the evening, we cut to the commentary team as Michael Cole tells us that they have just received an update on Randy Orton and Stone Cold Steven Austin. It has been confirmed that Austin is not pressing charges and says he would rather kick Orton’s ass himself, and he agrees to fight him at Summerslam! The crowd goes wild with Michael Cole appearing on next week’s Raw; however, there will be no physical contact between the two men, or the match at Summerslam will be cancelled!

Michael Cole also adds that the match at Summerslam, given the nature of the hostility, won’t be a regular singles match; instead, it will be a No Holds Barred match! The crowd is hyped up as Michael Cole also confirms that K2 versus Cerebrum Et Vires will take place next week for a spot in the TLC match at Summerslam! Lastly, they also confirm next week’s Raw main event will be Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair teaming up to take on the Blackhearted Witches!

Main event: The New Day vs The Church of Seth Rollins w/Scarlett Bordeaux

Match summary:
Both trios come into this match looking to prove who is superior, but Rollins at the start stays on the ring apron, allowing his disciples to wrestle the majority of the early stages of this encounter. The New Day, being a more cohesive unit, allows them to take control in the early stage, and this forces the self-proclaimed God Seth Rollins to step into the ring to turn things around for his team, isolating Xavier Woods in the Church’s corner of the ring.

Nathan Frazer, when he enters the ring, shows off a lot of his new viciousness as well and lays into him, even targeting the legs as the commentary team speculates that he might be looking to injure a potential challenger to the Cruiserweight title. As the match starts to reach its climax, Woods finally breaks free and makes the hot tag to bring Big E back into the match! The WWE Champion goes wild and lays into everyone, using his power moves to dominate, even tossing Seth Rollins around with ease!

Big E looks like he's about to win as he slams down Seth Rollins with the BOOTY DROP! Big E covers. 1, 2—Frazer saves it! Woods jumps in, and both cruiserweights crash outside. Big E tags in Kofi Kingston. They set up for THE MIDNIGHT HOUR! Big E gets Seth on his shoulder. KROSS CROTCHES KOFI ON THE TOP ROPE; SETH SLIPS OUT FROM BIG E! Seth hits a RIPCORD KNEE that sends Big E to the floor. He then delivers a CURB STOMP to a rising Kofi! Seth covers while Kross holds Big E, letting the Church claim victory!

Winners via pinfall: The Church of Seth Rollins (15:14)

Karrion Kross lets go of Big E after getting the job done, whilst outside the ring, we see Nathan Frazer leave his brawl with Woods. The Church all head into the ring whilst Big E checks on his friend Kofi Kingston. Seth Rollins and the Church tease a further attack on the New Day but instead, Seth warns Big E that his end is coming soon as Raw comes to a close.

- Cesaro vs Sheamus in a #1 Contenders Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship and whoever wins faces Andrade Cien Almas at SummerSlam with that title on the line...yeah one of them is bound to turn heel on the other one especially if they lose or I can see Andrade getting involved in their match and he attacks both men and he ends up in a Triple Threat Match with the WWE Intercontinental Championship being on the line.

- Randy Orton vs Stone Cold Steve Austin in a First Time Ever Match...this is a dream Match a clash of generations...2 of perhaps the greatest stars of all time going at it and it isn't in just any regular match but No Holds Barred which means anything goes

- Team Kick having to defend their newly won WWE Women's Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam and in a TLC Match can you imagine?

- I wonder if Paul Heyman The Wise Man tries to maneuver Nia Jax & Naomi into the TLC Match making sure The Bloodline gets added into that match? I can see it per Roman Reigns

- Rhea Ripley vs Bianca Belair for the WWE Women's Universal Championship at SummerSlam is the main event I'm looking forward to

I thought the Rhea/Belair stuff was pretty solid on the latest Raw. I've enjoyed the typical face/face build, with Belair having Ripley's back as she finished her, erm, unfinished business. Now Ripley getting to help Belair tonight is a nice switch around. The promo between these two was fine as well, I liked the play on their NXT history, and honestly, this is two big names who have never wrestled before on the main roster in this BTB, and in real life as far as I know. It makes this match feel huge, so kudos on booking it, and as I said, the build so far, including the latest show, has been good.

I was really disappointed we didn't get Orton/Austin at Mania but that's EWR for you I guess. I'm glad you've circled back to this one for Summerslam because it's a huge, not overdone in BTB, match. Whilst the threatening to burn somebody's house down has always felt a bit hokey in wrestling for me, I am glad we'll see more of these two next week, and looking forward to seeing how this progresses. Feud build around Austin as the special ref has been good up until now. Not much to say about the women's tag stuff, typical multi person throw away match. I could go for the Riott Squad winning tbh.

I've enjoyed the IC title build as well. Andrade taking the title off Kofi was unexpected, but I haven't minded The Ungovernables looking strong again. Cesaro has long term issues with Andrade, and Sheamus is still chasing that first title, so both have legitimate reasons to win. Looking forward to seeing who ends up getting the shot, as well as what character development goes down for the person who misses out. I mean, you could go for a Triple Threat, but meh, would prefer somebody to miss out for character impact. Assuming it might be Sheamus. Anyway, The Bar reunion for one night to nicely build the tension between the two worked well.

Grizzled Young Vets felt like the perfect challengers for these titles after coming out on top of their feud with British Strong Style. Segment here to get the ball rolling between them was fine enough. I have to admit, Raw looks very different since I last dropped some feedback. Expected New Day to have this, long dominant reign, but instead Kofi and Woods have already lost their belts. The decline genuinely has me torn on whether Big E retains against Seth or not, but the heels looking strong as the other New Day members continue to fail worked on this show. Creates further doubt, at least in my mind.

Cole/AJ is there and logically makes sense, but honestly just feels like a generic faction based mid card feud. I guess that's what it is, but yeah, as a reader, there's nothing wrong with it per se, but isn't overly exciting either. Love that you're giving this version of Ali's character a run in this BTB, and I think the booking so far has been very sound. The way Ali's character changed due to Owens' Powerbomb on the apron, and the way it lead to him targeting Sami first as Kevin's friend, brilliant stuff honestly. This is probably the highlight of what I've missed, and looking forward to the inevitable Owens/Ali showdown. A good choice for Ali's lackeys to so well done on that.

The Mickie/BlissMoon stuff has been built for awhile now, and I fully expect Mickie to call on a Trish Stratus or somebody from that era to be her partner. A solid episode of Raw here, things are building nicely in general.

SmackDown Live
July 23rd 2021
Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Fiserv Forum

Smackdown Live starts with its signature cold open, and we can see SHAWN MICHAELS sitting at his desk with a serious look on his face. He says World’s End was a mixed show for him. Shawn says we got to see the return of The Man Becky Lynch to SmackDown Live, and now has the Summerslam Night 2 main event sorted out. But at World’s End, someone he had helped train and get into this business was forced to retire in Daniel Bryan. Shawn Michaels sighs before saying that the show, however, must always go on.

Shawn says he has several announcements and starts by confirming a co-brand match for Summerslam, a new concept the commissioners came together to create called The House Always Wins. Shawn Michaels confirms this new match starts with 2 men in the ring, with wrestlers entering at random intervals until there is a maximum of 21 men in the ring! Shawn says it is a maximum of 21 because the match ends when the first pinfall or submission takes place!

Shawn says there will be a pool of 10 Raw superstars, 10 SmackDown superstars and a wildcard NXT superstar. They will all be given a number and join the match at that moment, with the winner getting a future WWE or Universal title shot! Now speaking of Summerslam, there is one spot from SmackDown left in the Women’s tag team titles TLC match and he thinks there are 4 teams worthy of fighting for that spot. He confirms there will be a fatal 4-way next week between Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection, Medusa Complex, The Bloodline and Emma & Toni Storm for the final spot joining the new champions Team Kick.

Shawn Michaels then says we now need to find out who is going to fight Roman Reigns for the Universal title at Summerslam! He says he has 6 men who he feels are potentially worth so has made a 6-pack challenge between: Drew McIntyre, Jacob Fatu, Jinder Mahal, John Cena, Rey Mysterio and Tommaso Ciampa! He then thanks the fans for listening to him before confirming Charlotte Flair versus Becky Lynch will be starting the show!

MAYHEM – HALESTORM
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*ALL HAIL THE QUEEN*

CHARLOTTE FLAIR
makes her way out after the usual opening video with a scowl on her face. Corey Graves officially welcomes us to the show as they hype up the opening match, saying we have seen these two women collide on several occasions, with them all being classics. Beth Phoenix adds it will be a real test for The Man Becky Lynch as she returns to the ring tonight. Charlotte is shown waiting in the ring before we hear…

*CELTIC INVASION*

BECKY LYNCH’S THEME MUSIC!
The crowd goes insane as the former Women’s Champion walks onto the SmackDown stage for the first time in over 2 years! Corey Graves says we saw the return of Becky Lynch at World’s End and in typical Becky fashion, she didn’t waste any time, immediately calling out Shayna Baszler for Summerslam. Beth Phoenix reminds us that Becky never lost her Women’s Universal title, giving it up due to her pregnancy so in her mind, she is first in line to get to kick Shayna’s ass! Becky steps into the ring with Charlotte as both women trash-talk each other before the referee calls for the bell, getting this huge opening match underway!

Match 1: Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch

Match summary:
There is no love lost between these old rivals as they spend the first few minutes of the match jaw-jacking with each other before Charlotte throws the first punch, sending Becky backward! Becky though, is known to be able to handle herself in a brawl and fires back, taking control of the match even forcing a retreat from an angry Charlotte Flair. The Queen recomposes herself before stepping back into the ring as both women battle again, but Charlotte manages to take control by targeting Becky’s right leg!

Becky struggles with the submissions done by Charlotte but she is familiar with them, so she starts to find a way out before sending Charlotte around the ring and targeting the arm of Charlotte to step up for the DIS-ARM-HER! Becky keeps in control and the crowd gets behind her, happy to see the top star of the Women’s division back in action. Both women are evenly matched as the commentary team tells us we are heading to a commercial break, but not to go anywhere!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we return from the commercial break, we can see Charlotte Flair is back in control and really tries to increase the damage done to the right leg of Becky Lynch by locking in a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK AROUND THE RING POST! Loud boos from the crowd, but the commentary team says Charlotte is looking to prove why she should be going to Summerslam to fight Shayna Baszler. Becky, meanwhile, is in pain but fights through it, not wanting to lose to Charlotte Flair!

In the closing stages of the match, Charlotte Flair looks to set up for the FIGURE EIGHT LEGLOCK… BUT BECKY FIGHTS WITH EVERYTHING SHE HAS TO GET OUT OF IT! Charlotte gets sent back as Becky now tries to get her in position for the DIS-ARM-HER… BUT CHARLOTTE FIGHTS OUT OF IT! Both women are familiar with each other and know each other’s signature submissions, but as Charlotte looks to grab Becky for NATURAL SELECTION SHE LOSES GRIP DUE TO THE DAMAGE TO HER ARM AND BECKY HITS MAN DOWN (manhandle slam)! Becky hooks the leg and picks up the win!

Winner via pinfall: Becky Lynch (15:50)

Becky Lynch gets to her feet and whilst she struggles a bit at first, she has a big smile on her face as she fires up the live crowd! Corey Graves says she struggled a bit, but Becky has shown tonight that there is very little ring rust going into Summerslam! Beth Phoenix says Becky will have to be at her best to beat Shayna Baszler, but she hopes she kicks the champion’s ass! Charlotte Flair outside the ring, looks furious but starts to head towards the back when…

*LOYALTY IS EVERYTHING*

SHAYNA BASZLER STORMS OUT ONTO THE ENTRANCE RAMP!
She has the Women’s Universal title around her waist and a scowl as she looks directly at Becky Lynch inside the ring! Charlotte Flair and Shayna Baszler have a little stare down when they meet on the entrance ramp, but the Queen walks off, leaving Shayna to her business. Noticeably for once, there is no MMA Horsewomen backing up Shayna Baszler as she slides into the ring… STARTING TO BRAWL WITH BECKY LYNCH!

The two women hate each other and they show it as they batter the hell out of one another here! Becky struggles a bit due to having just wrestled a 15-minute match with Shayna, taking control and she teases going for the KIRIFUDA CLUTCH… BUT BECKY FIGHTS OUT OF IT LOOKING TO GO FOR MAN DOWN… BUT SHAYNA FIGHTS OUT OF IT! Both are still brawling until a swarm of security runs down and finally looks to bring this brawl to an end, getting loud boos from the crowd! Both women are held apart as SmackDown goes to a commercial break.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we return from the commercial break, we can see security is still trying to keep SHAYNA BASZLER and BECKY LYNCH apart as they take them through the backstage area! Shayna shouts she is going to send Becky to the hospital, but Becky refuses to back down, saying you don’t have what it takes… AND BREAKS FREE AS SHE CLOBBERS SHAYNA WITH SEVERAL FISTS TO THE HEAD! The security grabs hold of Becky as they try to get it under control before we cut elsewhere backstage.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to KAYLA BRAXTON backstage, ready for an interview and we can see her guest at this time is DREW MCINTYRE! The Sinister Scotsman has a slight smile on his face, asking how he is feeling after his match with Jey Uso at World’s End. Drew gives a little bit of a chuckle and says Jey Uso tried to step up to him, tried to step up to his level, but he will never come close to his level whilst he sits up Roman’s thumb. Drew says if Jey had fought him fair and square, he might have had a chance, but Drew grew up in Scotland.

He tells Kayla that he had to fight in bars sometimes due to people trying to attack him to make a name for themselves, but he always knew how to handle himself in those situations, hence why he knows how to handle Roman Reigns. Kayla Braxton brings up his history with Roman, including Drew winning his first WWE title from Roman in WrestleMania 36’s main event. Drew nods, saying he brought an end to one of Roman’s reign of terror; he will do it again by winning tonight and walks off, ending the interview.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut elsewhere backstage as we can see THE HURT BUSINESS hanging out backstage. SAMOA JOE looks focused as he is warming up ahead of his match later on tonight against AR Fox. CEDRIC ALEXANDER and SHELTON BENJAMIN are talking to MVP when the door opens up as BOBBY LASHLEY and LIO RUSH enter the room. There is some tension as the duo enters the room, but MVP puts his hands up, looking to calm everyone down, saying he invited them into the room to talk business.

Lio Rush says they have made it clear they are not re-joining the Hurt Business, but MVP shakes his head, saying that’s not why he called them in here. Bobby looks suspect, but MVP says just because they are not part of the Hurt Business doesn’t mean they can’t be allies when they have mutual enemies. Bobby seems suspicious but accepts the handshake of MVP before Lio Rush also shakes his hand. MVP says he is glad they accepted because he had a word with Shawn Michaels and got both of them in the pool for the House always wins match at Summerslam!

Bobby looks suspicious and asks why he would do that when one of his other clients would likely want into the match. MVP says Joe has his sole focus on making Swerve Strickland pay for what he did to him, whilst Shelton and Cedric are focused on becoming tag team champions once again. Shelton and Cedric nod, backing up that segment with Cedric even saying he plans to give Swerve the ass kicking he has deserved for a while. Samoa Joe at this point, slowly walks over to the group with a scowl on his face.

He tells Cedric that tonight he won’t be getting involved, but he tells Cedric to make sure he doesn’t hurt Swerve too much. He wants Swerve to get a taste of what is going to happen to him before Joe ends his little run to the top and brings him back down to earth. Samoa Joe then turns to Bobby Lashley as the two giants come face to face with neither man wanting to back down. Joe says once he has destroyed Swerve, he will be back after the Universal title and if either Lashley or Rush wins at Summerslam, he is coming for them next too.

*WON’T LET GO*

CEDRIC ALEXANDER
walks out after the commercial break with MVP. MVP joins the commentary desk. Corey Graves welcomes MVP, asking why he is at the desk. MVP replies that Shawn Michaels has banned everyone from ringside, including managers, but the commentary desk is allowed. He wants to ensure Price Nana doesn’t interfere. Beth Phoenix adds that Nana often tries to circumvent stipulations.

*BIG PRESSURE*

SWERVE STRICKLAND
makes his way out, getting loud boos from the crowd and he is standing next to PRINCE NANA as they walk to the ring, staring down Cedric Alexander. Prince Nana makes his way onto the commentary desk and noticeably sits on the opposite side of the booth to MVP. Corey welcomes him to the commentary desk, with Prince Nana saying it will be good for the fans to hear from someone who knows how to make money. MVP shouts back at that, with Beth wondering if they will be bickering the whole match. Inside the ring, both Cedric and Swerve circle the ring as the referee rings the bell to get this match underway!

Match 2: Swerve Strickland vs Cedric Alexander

Match summary:
Cedric comes into this match as the more aggressive one, still angry about the way Swerve Strickland betrayed The Hurt Business. Swerve Strickland though, keeps his composure during the match and starts to slowly wear down the high-flier across the ring from him. On the commentary desk, we can hear Nana and MVP putting their clients over whilst bickering with MVP telling Nana that Swerve made the biggest mistake of his career when he pissed off Samoa Joe.

As the match continues, Swerve targets Cedric’s back methodically, preventing him from landing the LUMBAR CHECK. Swerve stays relentless. Nana claims this ruthlessness will take Swerve to the top of WWE, while MVP says it’s why he brought Swerve into the Hurt Business but insists Swerve is too self-focused to work with others and will eventually betray everyone in the Mogul Embassy. Ultimately, Swerve Strickland puts away Cedric Alexander with a house call, followed by a SWERVE STOMP.

Winner via pinfall: Swerve Strickland (7:24)

Swerve rises with a sinister smile, soaking in boos from the crowd as Nana applauds on commentary. The commentary team credits Swerve, with MVP saying he’s a good wrestler but will soon learn how much he messed up when Joe gets his hands on him at Summerslam. Swerve and Nana head up the entrance ramp, celebrating the victory before we cut to the backstage area.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We see JINDER MAHAL walking through the backstage area, joined by VEER and SHANKY flanking him on either side, cutting an imposing presence as a trio. They are stopped by BYRON SAXTON who asks why these two men have joined Jinder Mahal on SmackDown Live. Jinder speaks for them, saying they have grown up watching the Maharaja in India and are huge fans of him. Shanky says watching Jinder was an inspiration to him in India and got him into wrestling.

Veer meanwhile, says Jinder came to India personally and told him he had what it took to achieve greatness; he is here to fulfil that promise! Jinder says these two men will be future tag team champions and they will start their tear through SmackDown with Killian Dain and Drake Maverick next week! Bryon then brings up the main event with Jinder, saying it has been too long without him as a World Champion and tonight he will earn his place at Summerslam, where he will dethrone the Tribal Chief!

*HEAD OF THE TABLE*

The 2nd hour of SmackDown Live starts with ROMAN REIGNS making his way out and the heat for him is nuclear! He is not alone, joined by the rest of THE BLOODLINE: JACOB FATU, JEY USO, NAOMI, NIA JAX and PAUL HEYMAN! Roman has a smug smile on his face, with Paul and Jacob smiling too. Naomi and Jey Uso, meanwhile, look a little more nervous with Nia Jax having a stoic look on her face as they get ready to enter the ring. Corey and Beth both wonder how much gloating Roman is going to do, having ended the WWE career of Daniel Bryan at World’s End!

The Bloodline stands in the ring with Roman Reigns standing front and centre as he lets the crowd rain down heat on him. He takes a minute to let the crowd carry on booing him before raising his microphone to speak. He says two words: Acknowledge me, which further winds up the live crowd and brings an even bigger smile to his face. He says these fans can mourn for Daniel Bryan all they want, but they need to accept that SmackDown Live is now run by the Tribal Chief!

The crowd shockingly do not accept this, but Roman says last night proved that Daniel Bryan was never on his level and that the fans should never have rejected him. Roman says they need to acknowledge him, but the fans refuse to and this starts to anger Roman, leading Paul Heyman to tell the fans you are angering your Tribal Chief, which does nothing to quell the boos. Jey Uso takes the microphone and tells the crowd to show respect to the Chief, but Roman just glares at him before taking the microphone back!

Roman tells him that Jey Uso didn’t show respect to the chief when he let Drew get closer to his Universal title and scolds him for his failure at World’s End! Jey looks downcast as Roman praises the rest of the group for getting their jobs done, giving Naomi a nod of approval and bringing a slight smile to her face. Roman then looks at Fatu, and for the first time since he debuted, there is a slight tension there. He tells Fatu the job he has to do tonight and Jacob nods before Roman turns to the fans, telling them whoever wins tonight will suffer the same fate as Daniel Bryan!

When we return from the commercial break, we can see ALPHA ACADEMY in their training room backstage, but now it is just three of them: CHAD GABLE, BUDDY MURPHY, and DANIEL GARCIA! None of them looks to be in a good mood, having suffered not only losses last night but the end of their friend and mentor’s career. Garcia speaks first, saying he can’t believe Bryan’s career is over and blames himself for not being able to do more for one of his heroes.

Buddy puts an arm around the young kid’s shoulder and reassures him, saying Bryan wanted to fight Roman alone. Chad nods, staying quiet for the moment, as Buddy says that last night he was this close to taking the United States title from Jacob Fatu and he knows he can beat the Samoan Werewolf. Gable says he has only one person in his sights, and he is even further away after losing at World’s End: Roman Reigns. Chad gets to his feet and says not only did he remove Bryan from WWE, but Angle as well!

Chad says they need to avenge those they have lost and says he spoke to Shawn Michaels earlier tonight, getting them all potential spots in the House always wins match at Summerslam! Murphy and Garcia nod, saying the goal is to make sure one of them wins, but Gable makes it clear to the other two, " May the best man win because he will stop at nothing to get his shot at Roman Reigns! Murphy nods understanding, though Garcia shakes his head a little less sure.

Chad says they need to start racking up wins, and they can’t let anything stop them! Chad looks to Buddy and says he has arranged a tag team match for them against Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher next week to get them back on the right track, prompting a nod from Murphy. Gable then looks to Daniel Garcia, saying he knows that Garcia will be a future champion because Bryan and Angle said as much. He knows that Daniel wants to go after the Bloodline, so he gets him a match with Jey Uso next week. Garcia nods, saying he will start there for Bryan!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*COMMANDER*

AR FOX
makes his way out, getting boos from the crowd, joined by PRINCE NANA as they walk to the ring. Nana once again heads to the commentary desk, taking a seat as he says it is time to watch the future show up the past! Corey Graves counters, saying underestimating Samoa Joe is a big mistake, and AR Fox might find himself in over his head if he ain’t careful. Beth Phoenix says Samoa Joe will take great pleasure in making an example of AR Fox ahead of his collision with Swerve Strickland at Summerslam!

*COLISEUM CLASH*

SAMOA JOE
marches out, getting loud cheers from the crowd and we even get a “JOE JOE JOE” chant as he walks towards the ring with MVP by his side. MVP heads to the commentary desk, saying it is a pleasure to be back with Corey and Beth before making a snide remark about Prince Nana. Corey says Joe looks to shake off some ring rust after nearly 2 months out of action. Beth Phoenix says I would not want to be the person Joe is looking to get back into form against. Joe glares at AR Fox as the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

Match 3: Samoa Joe vs AR Fox

Match summary:
AR Fox starts the match at a fast pace, catching Samoa Joe off-guard to the delight of Prince Nana on the commentary desk. Samoa Joe only needs one lariat to wipe out AR Fox and takes back control of the match! He stays in control of the match, tossing AR Fox around and wearing down the Cruiserweight, shouting to Swerve to ask if he is watching! AR Fox makes a fight back before heading to the top rope, ready to dive onto Joe… BUT JOE WALKS AWAY LEADING TO FOX CRASHING AND BURNING! Joe scoops up AR Fox off the mat and locks in the COQUINA CLUTCH! AR Fox is dragged to the mat and quickly taps out, giving Joe the win!

Winner via submission: Samoa Joe (5:18)

Samoa Joe keeps hold of AR Fox for a few extra seconds, his anger at the Mogul Embassy clear, before dumping the Cruiserweight on the mat. At the commentary desk, MVP gets to his feet and applauds Samoa Joe, while Prince Nana is furious and claims Joe got lucky. Corey and Beth highlight both Joe's power and his ability to capitalize on AR Fox's single mistake to end the match. In the ring, Samoa Joe watches AR Fox get back up and QUICKLY SCOOPS HIM UP PLANTING HIM WITH THE MUSCLEBUSTER FOR GOOD MEASURE. The crowd erupts in cheers as Joe smirks, telling Nana to send a message to Swerve before the show cuts to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we can see KEITH LEE chatting to his tag team partner DOMINIK DIJAKOVIC backstage when they are interrupted by KAYLA BRAXTON looking for an interview with them. Keith nods as they are asked for their thought on Daniel Bryan’s retirement and what Roman Reigns had to say earlier tonight. Keith Lee says Daniel Bryan is a legend of the business and a big reason people like them got a chance in WWE from Ring of Honour. Dijakovic says he was a worthy champion and they will keep fighting the Bloodline in his honour!

Kayla asks him about his Money in the Bank briefcase and if that changes how he plans to cash it in. Keith looks at it, saying he was hoping to fight a worthy champion in Daniel Bryan, but he might have to change those plans and bring an end to Roman’s reign of terror sooner rather than later. Kayla asks when that will be, but they are interrupted by THE WAR RAIDERS! ERIK and IVAR standing face-to-face with the duo, asking what they want… TOMMASO CIAMPA AND TIMOTHY THATCHER ATTACK THEM FROM BEHIND!

All 4 men lay a beatdown on the hoss tag team as they try to fight back, but the numbers game is too much for them to overcome! Ciampa issues instructions as he gets The War Raiders to lift him up as they SLAM KEITH LEE ONTO A PRODUCTION CRATE BACK FIRST! Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher pick up Dominik Dijakovic, hitting him with a DUAL POWERBOMB! Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic are laid out on the floor as Ciampa turns to Thatcher and says whilst this pay is nice, taking the Universal title at Summerslam will be even nicer as we cut elsewhere backstage.

*BLOW*

TUCKER KNIGHT
walks out, getting huge boos from the live crowd, wearing a suit and looking remorseful as he heads to the ring. Corey Graves notes the WWE universe has long had issues with Tucker’s actions, especially after he turned on Otis following their tag team title loss at World’s End. Beth Phoenix adds she expected Otis to snap first, given Tucker’s behavior leading up to the match.

Tucker Knight gets into the ring and lets the boos settle down for a moment before addressing the fans in a mocking tone, saying he is sick of pretending to care what they think about his actions. The crowd boos and insults him even more, but Tucker ignores them, saying he spent months trying to get Otis to see sense, to see what was important. He shakes his head as he paces around the ring, saying before Mandy, they were 2-time tag team champions and one of the best teams in the company!

Tucker says he lost two months of his career due to The Usos taking him out of action, and instead of Otis focusing on getting payback, he was too busy flirting with Mandy Rose! The crowd cheers for Mandy, with a lot of the fans loving the partnership between the two of them, but this seems to wind up Tucker even further! He says relationships are not for the workplace. Otis should have been working to avenge him. Tucker shakes his head before carrying on with months of anger on his face.

Tucker says if Otis put his romance to the side and focused on doing whatever it takes to become tag team champions one more time, I would have been happy, but instead Otis didn’t focus on doing what was needed. Tucker shakes his head, saying Otis was trying to be a goody two-shoes. Tucker makes it clear he dropped the deadweight last night and is planning to make it to the top on his own. The crowd boos him, but Tucker says he is moving on past Otis and won’t be dealing with him any longer…

*HEAVY*

OTIS DOZOVIC RUNS OUT ONTO THE ENTRANCE RAMP AND HE DOESN’T LOOK HAPPY!
The crowd cheers loudly as he sprints to the ring, looking to get his hands on his former best friend! Tucker Knight though, wants no part of Otis Dozovic and leaves the ring fleeing towards the backstage area, leaving Otis standing in the ring looking furious. Corey Graves says Tucker Knight might think he is done with Otis Dozovic, but his former tag team partner clearly disagrees! Beth Phoenix says she has never seen Otis this angry and wonders what will happen next as we cut to a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, we can see TUCKER KNIGHT storming through the back when MANDY ROSE comes face to face with him and confronts her boyfriend’s former tag team partner. Mandy asks Tucker what is wrong with him. Tucker scoffs at that statement and looks to walk past, but Mandy blocks the path, refusing to let Tucker get past her. She points at him and says he is the reason for Heavy Machinery falling apart, calling Otis a good man who tried to see the good in him.

Tucker says Otis was too focused on a cheap slut rather than their friendship, saying that is what ended their tag team! Mandy Rose is furious at that insult and responds with a SLAP TO TUCKER’S FACE! Tucker grabs his face and looks at Mandy with a menacing look… OTIS CLOBBERS HIM FROM BEHIND! Otis lays into Tucker with hard strikes, shouting that he doesn’t get to talk about her that way! He gets pulled off by Mandy Rose who says he is not worth it, as a furious Tucker Knight retreats and runs away for now.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut elsewhere backstage as REY MYSTERIO is shown warming up ahead of the main event with his son DOMINIK MYSTERIO watching. Both men have their WWE tag team titles around their waist as BYRON SAXTON approaches them, looking for an interview with the pair. He congratulates them on retaining their tag team titles last night, getting a thank you from them before asking Rey how he is feeling going into tonight’s main event with a chance to earn a Universal title shot at Summerslam!

Rey smiles and says it has been two years since he held the Universal title in Mexico and he has wanted to win it again ever since. He turns to his son, saying that becoming Universal Champion while a champion with his son would make him even happier. Dominik says he is always proud of his dad and promises to have his back tonight in case anyone outside the match tries to get involved, wanting it to be a fair fight. Rey thanks his son and The Mysterios leave, ending the interview.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*HERE TO SHOW THE WORLD*

DOLPH ZIGGLER
walks out onto the entrance ramp, getting boos from the live crowd, flanked by his bodyguard OMOS as always, to whom he can be seen giving instructions. Corey Graves says Ziggler comes into this match looking to get back on form after a rough year since losing the Cruiserweight title to Mustafa Ali on Raw. Beth Phoenix says her husband is familiar with Dolph Ziggler, bringing up the rivalry, as the first time Ziggler won the World title, albeit under controversial circumstances.

*METALINGUS*

EDGE
makes his way out, getting a loud pop from the live crowd. He doesn’t smile too much though, focused on business as he looks to get back in the win column after a few weeks on the shelf thanks to L.A. Knight. Beth Phoenix says Dolph Ziggler might find himself in over his head as Edge is looking to send a message to Knight. Corey Graves says Edge’s anger might give Ziggler something to take advantage of in this match. Edge is inside the ring and the referee calls for the bell to get this match underway!

Match 4: Edge vs Dolph Ziggler w/OMOS

Match summary:
Edge is aggressive right from the start and Ziggler struggles to deal with this, rolling out of the ring to recover and using OMOS to protect himself. Edge is smart enough not to mess with the bodyguard heading back inside the ring as he waits for Ziggler to re-enter the ring. Ziggler comes into the ring to regroup and does gain an edge for a bit, but Edge doesn’t let him out of the ring from this moment on. He takes control and even knocks OMOS off the ring apron as he tries to enter before finishing off Ziggler with a SPEAR to pick up the win on his return to SmackDown Live!

Winner via pinfall: Edge (4:09)

Edge gets to his feet, but there is no smile on his face. OMOS outside the ring looks at Edge, but the Rated R superstar wastes no time grabbing a steel chair from the outside, threatening OMOS with it if he tries anything. Beth says her husband is smart enough not to try to fight the giant without a weapon to hand. Corey says Edge wrote the book on all the tricks you can do to win a match in an underhanded way, so he was ready for anything Ziggler and OMOS might want to try.

OMOS instead grabs hold of Dolph Ziggler, grabbing him before carrying him towards the backstage area. Edge once they clear out, asks for a microphone from a staff member outside the ring and is given one, keeping the steel chair in one of his hands. Edge says he is calling out L.A. Knight to this ring right now! Edge paces around the ring saying taking him out is one thing, but you don’t insult a man’s wife! He tells Knight to get out of here, or he will come find him…

*WELCOME TO LA*

L.A. KNIGHT MAKES HIS WAY OUT WITH A MICROPHONE IN HAND!
The crowd boos as the cocky superstar stands at the top of the entrance ramp, as Edge tells him to stop stalling and get down to this ring right now! L.A. Knight shakes his head, saying nuh uh and tells Edge he must be a total dummy if he thinks he is going to step into the same ring as a man holding a steel chair! He walks around the top of the entrance ramp and makes it clear he is not going to fight Edge tonight, getting loud boos from the live crowd!

Edge calls him a coward and says he is going to come up there to fight him right now. L.A. says Edge doesn’t want to do that because not only will he break his neck one more time… which gets loud boos from the crowd, cutting him off for the moment! Edge is ready to step through the ropes, but L.A. says he will only agree to fight Edge at Summerslam! Knight makes it clear that as a megastar, he deserves to defeat Edge on the big stage and he’ll see him there, bringing the promo to an end as SmackDown goes to a commercial break.

They both laugh and walk away elsewhere as we cut elsewhere backstage…

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To see TAYNARA CONTI leaving Shawn Michaels’s office, not looking too happy when she is stopped for an interview by KAYLA BRAXTON! She asked what Conti was talking to Shawn Michaels about and the former WWE Women’s Champion says she was asking when she would be able to get a chance to win back. Conti is clutching her right arm as Kayla asks when she will get her chance and Conti says Shawn has said I am in consideration, but any title shots will be after Summerslam.

Kayla is about to carry on the interview when CHARLOTTE FLAIR comes into the shot interrupting them, shouting that Conti should be at the back of the line after her loss to Shayna Baszler! Conti fires back at the 9-time Women’s Champion, saying then so is she after losing to Becky Lynch early tonight. Charlotte doesn’t like that saying no matter how many times she loses, she is always at the front of the line because she is a Flair and has won more titles than Conti could ever dream of, calling her win at WrestleMania a fluke!

Charlotte carries on and reminds Conti that she has never defeated her in singles action. Conti looks angry and fed up, coming off losing her WWE Women’s title whilst having an injured arm, saying she will correct that right now… CLOCKING CHARLOTTE WITH A SUPERKICK TO THE JAW! Taynara Conti turns back to Kayla, making it clear she will fight anyone to get another shot at the WWE Women’s title, even Queens. Conti walks over to the fallen Charlotte Flair who is clutching her jaw, looking furious.

TEAM KICK
makes their way out to the ring, getting loud cheers from the crowd as the new WWE Women’s Tag team champions show off their title belts with smiles on their faces. DAKOTA KAI is limping slightly due to the damage she took during the street fight at World’s End. TEGAN NOX is also feeling the effects of the war since Sunday, but slaps hands with the fans, looking to fire them up on the way to the ring. Corey Graves says Team Kick proved themselves as one of the best tag teams in WWE, ending the longest ever reign by any Women’s tag team by defeating the Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection.

Beth Phoenix says the damage at World’s End explains why we haven’t seen the Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection since their loss. While the new champions aren’t cleared, they want to celebrate with the fans tonight. Team Kick stand in the ring, titles around their waists, microphones ready. Dakota goes first: “We’ll keep this short—we’re not here to talk.” Tegan Nox grins and adds: “We’re here to kick ass!”

The crowd cheers. Kai smiles at her tag team partner. Kai: "We already know our first defense will be against five other teams in a TLC match at Summerslam. Bring it on." Nox: "All the teams who've qualified are worthy competitors—and the four who fight next week on SmackDown, too." Kai: "No matter the challenge, we'll fight together and fight to keep these titles." Their short promo ends.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just before we go to the final commercial break of the evening, we can see JOHN CENA walking through the back, ready to head to the ring when he is stopped for an interview by BYRON SAXTON! He asks John Cena for his thoughts on what happened to Daniel Bryan, mentioning his history with the superstar over the years. Cena looks solemn before answering and says he has a ton of respect for Bryan, saying he fought like no one else in that ring and the business is worse off for him being retired.

John Cena says he knows his own end is coming sooner rather than later, but he knows that he wants to handle it with the same grace and dignity that Bryan did before his chapter was closed for him. Cena says he wants to go on his own terms. Byron asks if that includes winning his 17th World title and Cena nods. He says tonight he is going to go out there and beat the other 5 men to make sure he gets the chance to avenge Bryan and end Roman’s reign of terror.

When we return from the final commercial break of the night, Corey Graves and Beth Phoenix confirm that next week’s SmackDown Live, we will see Heavy Machinery implode as Tucker Knight takes on Otis Dozovic in singles action. Both speculate on the match before we hear the entrance for:

*SHER (LION)*

JINDER MAHAL!
The former WWE Champion marches out, getting loud boos from the live crowd and noticeably, he is not alone as he is flanked by VEER and SHANKY! Corey Graves says the last time Jinder got into World title contention, it was in a match like this with the help of two allies at ringside. Beth Phoenix quips that his help last time was a lot smaller, calling Veer and Shanky massive athletes as they stand in the ring.

*NO ONE WILL SURVIVE*

TOMMASO CIAMPA
makes his way out with a sickening smile, getting louder boos than Jinder and like the Maharaja, he is not alone as TIMOTHY THATCHER walks to the ring with him. Corey says Ciampa wants to replace the goldie he lost when he was banished from NXT, thanks to Johnny Gargano. Beth says not only that, but the best way to earn money for his family is to become Universal Champion and take the Tribal Chief’s power!

*BROKEN DREAMS*

DREW MCINTYRE
slowly walks out onto the entrance ramp next and he is alone, showing no fear of the men in the ring. He glares at Ciampa and Jinder, two men he has had a history with over the last couple of years. Corey Graves says Drew McIntyre wants to become a World champion one more time, with Beth Phoenix reminding us of the fact that the last time Drew became a World champion was by defeating Roman Reigns.

*BOOYAKA 619*

REY MYSTERIO
makes his way out, showing off his WWE tag team title, before being joined by his son DOMINIK MYSTERIO who also lifts his own WWE tag team title, before they head ringside. Corey Graves says Rey Mysterio just under 2 years ago, won the Universal title, holding it for less than a day. Tonight, he wants to earn the chance to win it back. Beth Phoenix says Dominik Mysterio is at ringside to help his dad due to the numbers game already growing outside the ring!

*ENEMY*

JACOB FATU
walks out next, cutting an imposing presence as he lifts his United States title into the air. He is noticeably all by himself with no other members of the Bloodline backing him up. Corey Graves wonders if Roman Reigns is scared of Jacob Fatu and the possibility of facing him at Summerslam. Beth Phoenix says she can’t blame him, as Fatu is yet to be pinned or submitted since coming to SmackDown Live, wondering who can stop him in this match.

*THE TIME IS NOW*

JOHN CENA
makes his way out, getting a loud pop from the fans before throwing his hat and shirt into the crowd with a smile on his face. He then looks serious before sprinting to the ring and entering the lion’s den. Corey Graves says John Cena is still chasing that historic 17th World title run and tonight he has the chance to earn a shot against Roman Reigns. Beth Phoenix says it will be a chaotic match and Cena’s age plus veteran experience might give him the edge. All 6 men are in the ring before the referee calls for the bell to get this underway!

Main event: 6-pack challenge number one contender’s match: Drew McIntyre vs Jacob Fatu vs Jinder Mahal w/Veer and Shanky vs John Cena vs Rey Mysterio w/Dominik Mysterio vs Tommaso Ciampa w/Timothy Thatcher

Match summary:
The match is a chaotic affair with all 6 men knowing what is at stake as they try to earn a Universal title match at Summerslam. The match in the first 5 minutes sees lots of different pairings fighting in the ring but most noticeably, it seems Jacob Fatu is focused on attacking John Cena, whilst not really making an attempt to make a cover or pick up the win. Ciampa meanwhile, seems to be trying to pick his spots, whilst Jinder, Drew and Rey look to fight in the ring for the most part, all wanting that shot at Summerslam more than anything.

As the match heads towards the middle stages, we get the first big beat of the match with Cena finally having enough of Fatu trying to keep him out of the match and hits him with an AA THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE! John Cena starts to take control of the match and actually turns back the years, looking like he might be about to win, but TIMOTHY THATCHER GETS INVOLVED TO PULL HIM OFF THE COVER! The crowd loudly boos, but they soon turn to cheers as KEITH LEE AND DOMINIK DIJAKOVIC RUN OUT!

Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic both look furious as Dijakovic gets to the ring, attacking Timothy Thatcher whilst Keith Lee grabs hold of Ciampa and sends him into the barricade! He slams him with a CLOTHESLINE SENDING HIM INTO THE CROWD LEADING TO CIAMPA AND THATCHER BRAWLING TO THE BACK WITH KEITH LEE AND DIJAKOVIC! Back inside the ring, it is now down to 5 men, but John Cena is face-to-face with Jinder Mahal… VEER AND SHANKY slide into the ring… DREW MCINTYRE AND REY MYSTERIO SLIDE IN TO BACK HIM UP!

The faces fight 3 on 3 with John Cena and Drew McIntyre removing Veer and Shanky from the ring before Rey sets Jinder Mahal up on the ropes, hitting the 619… FATU GRABS HIM FROM THE RING APRON AND POWERBOMBS HIM ONTO THE FLOOR! Loud boos from the crowd as the Samoa Werewolf gets up but turns around, charging straight for Cena again, crashing into him throwing the barricade! Jacob Fatu has taken out Cena and slowly gets to his feet… CLAYMORE TO KEEP HIM DOWN! Drew heads back to the ring, where Jinder tries to grab hold of him… BUT DREW FIGHTS HIM OFF AND HITS ANOTHER CLAYMORE! Drew makes the cover 1 2 3 Drew McIntyre is going to Summerslam!

Winner via pinfall: Drew McIntyre (15:49)

The crowd loudly cheers as we can see the wreckage around the ringside area, but it is Drew McIntyre who remains standing, now with a Universal title match at Summerslam. Corey Graves and Beth Phoenix put him over on commentary, once again reminding us he has defeated Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 36 as SmackDown Live fades to black.

- Roman Reigns & Drew McIntyre have history...a long history and if anyone remembers that infamous Hell in a Cell match in this diary where Roman got thrown off the Cell and nearly had his career ended by McIntyre...and now McIntyre wins a #1 Contenders 6 Pack Challenge to get this opportunity at Roman...imagine

- Definitely can't wait until LA Knight/Edge at SummerSlam

- The House Always Wins...is this the equivalent of an AEW Casino Gauntlet type match? Whoever wins gets a future WWE or WWE Universal Championship match...I love the concept

- Keith Lee still has that briefcase let's not forget he can cash in on either Champion not just his brand's Champion...he could decide to cash in on Seth Rollins should Rollins win the championship

Match 1: Number one contender’s match for Summerslam: Cesaro vs Sheamus w/The Miz

Match summary:
Monday Night Raw starts with the number one contender’s match for the Intercontinental title, with Cesaro and Sheamus both looking to earn their spot at Summerslam! In the first minute, we see both men looking at each other, having had several matches with one another over the years, and very aware of what their opponent can do in the ring. Cesaro from here makes the first move as both men fire off hard strikes, but neither gains the edge in the first 5 minutes.

It turns into a brawl with both men throwing everything they have at each other, but both men know each other’s game inside out, so they trade counters and battle for control in the middle of the ring. The Miz outside the ring gives advice to Sheamus, but the Celtic Warrior noticeably doesn’t really listen to the Miz, focusing on how he would get stuff done, which noticeably seems to annoy the Miz a little bit outside the ring. Sheamus has Cesaro in a submission, working over his back as Raw goes to its first commercial break.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Returning from the break, Cesaro escapes the submission and attacks Sheamus's lower back, aiming to slow his power moves and set up for the SHARPSHOOTER. As the match nears 20 minutes, Sheamus realizes he might be in trouble, especially with his history of back issues.

He gets to the bottom rope, and Miz has a discussion with him, with Sheamus this time seeming to take the advice on board. Cesaro charges in looking to go back on the attack, BUT SHEAMUS CATCHES HIM WITH A RAKE TO THE EYE! The crowd gives a mixed reaction, and the referee tells Sheamus off, but it allows him back into the match as he connects with an IRISH CURSE BACKBREAKER and starts to dominate Cesaro in the middle of the ring!

The Swiss Superman is in a ton of pain as we hear an announcement from ringside, and it is confirmed that there are 5 minutes remaining in this match! Both men realize they need to step up the pace, and they start throwing bombs at each other, trying to knock each other down, leading to a spot where both men HEADBUTT EACH OTHER AND FALL TO THE MAT! They both end up in corners of the ring as Miz speaks to Sheamus again and even offers to give him a weapon… BUT SHEAMUS SAYS NO!

Sheamus charges in looking for the BROUGE KICK… BUT CESARO IS READY FOR IT AND SLAMS HIM DOWN WITH A RICOLA BOMB! Cesaro makes the cover 1 2 Sheamus kicks out! Cesaro then signals to the crowd and grabs hold of Sheamus before taking him for a CESARO SWING! He spins him around 10 times before transitioning into a SHARPSHOOTER! He wrenches back on the hold, knowing his former tag team partner’s back issues, but the Celtic Warrior refuses to give up on the Intercontinental title!

He crawls to the ropes as the clock is ticking down and is so close to the bottom rope… MIZ PUSHES IT FORWARD TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR SHEAMUS TO REACH! Sheamus grabs hold of the bottom rope, but the referee also sees this and tells off The Miz! Cesaro is also furious and grabs Miz by his suit jacket, distracting him as Sheamus rolls to the other corner of the ring and lines up CESARO… BROUGE KICK! A loud mixed reaction from the live crowd as Sheamus moves Cesaro back to the middle of the ring… 1 2 CESARO KICKS OUT!

The crowd goes wild and Sheamus looks to be in shock as it is announced that there is one minute remaining in this match. Miz is shouting to Sheamus looking to offer him help, but the Celtic Warrior ignores him and lines up Cesaro, waiting for him to rise to go for another BROUGE KICK… BUT CESARO AVOIDS IT! Sheamus turns back around into SWISS DEATH! Cesaro makes the cover 1 2 Sheamus kicks out! Cesaro wastes no time trying to scoop up Sheamus…. BUT HE FIGHTS OUT OF IT AND THEY BRAWL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING AS TIME RUNS OUT!

Winner: Draw (30:00)

The crowd boos, wanting to see this match carry on, but Sheamus and Cesaro have run out of time! This doesn’t stop them from brawling with each other in the middle of the ring, as the referee and Miz try to keep the pair apart from each other. As they are arguing in the ring about who should go to Summerslam, they are interrupted by Intercontinental Champion Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega! The crowd loudly boos as Andrade has a smug smirk on his face!

He shows off the Intercontinental title and mocks the pair of them, saying tonight has proved that neither man is worthy of a shot at his title. Sheamus and Cesaro have fully stopped fighting at this point, ready to charge at Andrade and ready for revenge. He carries on taunting them, but soon they are interrupted by Raw Commissioner Wade Barrett! Wade says he watched the match and Andrade is wrong, saying he has decided that at Summerslam it will be a TRIPLE THREAT MATCH! Andrade is furious whilst the crowd loudly cheers, and we get a stare down between Cesaro and Sheamus.

When we return from the commercial break, we see Wade Barrett walking through the backstage area as Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega follow after him, clearly furious. The rest of The Ungovernables (Shinsuke Nakamura, Angel Garza, Humberto Carrillo and Aliyah) also join Zelina but Wade Barrett refuses to back down. Andrade Cien Almas ends up storming off, furious with Zelina saying this match should not be happening. Wade tells Zelina she can disagree with his decision, but it is final!

Wade then tells Zelina that he is willing to give her a bone and show he isn’t biased against her, agreeing to put Shinsuke Nakamura and Angel Garza in the pool for the House always wins match at Summerslam! The two men have a smile and nod, happy with the chance to earn a future WWE title match. Humberto Carrillo looks annoyed and asks what about him. Zelina looks at Wade Barrett and says he will consider him for future opportunities, depending on how he does against Xavier Woods later tonight!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut back to the ring as Kevin Owens makes his way out, getting loud cheers from the fans. He steps into the ring with a serious look on his face and says at Summerslam, he gets a match with someone who has been too cowardly to confront him one-on-one about his problems: Mustafa Ali! Kevin walks around the ring and actually tells the fans he gets why he was angry; hell he would have had no problem with Ali if he came after him directly, but Mustafa didn’t do that!

Owens says instead of being like a coward, Ali chose to attack someone who had no part in his actions and targeted his best friend, Sami Zayn. Kevin carries on his rant, saying Sami Zayn is not to pay for his sins and that he will never accept someone using his best friend to try to make a point to him! Kevin says he has never been a hard man to find and is calling Mustafa Ali to come speak to him like a man right now. The crowd loudly cheers but once again, Ali instead would appear on the titantron in front of a podium with a smug smirk surrounded by Ever-Rise!

Mustafa Ali says he is not a man who makes demands and waivers on his principles because it has become popular to do so. He says Kevin Owens was on SmackDown and he was not allowed to chase after him to do what was right, so he dealt with the root cause of the problem: Sami Zayn. The crowd boos, but Ali shakes his head saying that since this has begun, people have excused the actions of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who is the worst offender for it!

The crowd loudly boos, but Ali says that Sami pretends to be this moral person, always excusing Kevin Owens for his actions, but has never stopped him from doing them. Ali says if he had his way, there would be no room for this hypocrisy, so he started with Sami Zayn and at Summerslam, he will show why Kevin Owens needs to be removed from the WWE. Kevin Owens challenges him to come to this ring right now and why wait for Summerslam, but Ali shakes his head again.

Mustafa Ali says he wants his message to be broadcast on the big stage, wanting everyone who tunes in for a party to see that it is time for the right path to be followed and he will make Raw great again! Matt Martel, at this point, steps forward and says if Owens wants a fight, they can see him next week. Chase Parker tells Kevin to find a partner, bringing a smirk to his face as Owens says there is only one man in mind and confirms Sami Zayn will return next week, ending the promo!

Match 2: Summerslam qualifying match: Cerebrum et Vires vs K2

Match summary:
Both teams come into this match feeling confident as they look to advance to Summerslam and have a chance to become the WWE Women’s tag team champions. K2 catches Cerebrum Et Vires off-guard with their high-flying skills and tag team moves, but Deonna makes sure to use the power of Piper Niven to turn the tide. Deonna during the rest of the match, would damage their limbs and in the end, Piper Niven would finish off Kayden Carter with the SCOT DROP whilst Deonna keeps Katana Chance tied up!

Winner via pinfall: Cerebrum et Vires (6:54)

The duo gets to their feet with a smile on their face and even the more recently subdued Piper Niven has a smile, one step closer to her goal of holding tag team gold. The commentary team puts over the duo's balance of power and brains, which could prove vital going into a TLC match as Raw goes on a commercial break.

When we return from the commercial break, Seth Rollins makes his way out, leading the Church of Seth Rollins to the ring with a smug smirk on his face. He gets into the middle of the ring with his disciples: Nathan Frazer, Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux kneeling in front of him as he gets ready to address the live crowd. The crowd is booing him, which brings a smile to Seth's face as he soaks in the hatred from the fans and seems to enjoy it before getting ready to speak.

Seth says last week showed the power of the Church and why he will be saving the WWE title at Summerslam! He has a smug look on his face and says that Big E believes in the power of friendship, that with your friends' help, you can overcome anything. Seth shakes his head and says that friendship leaves you open. It leaves you weak and makes you realize that you need to be a leader, showing everyone the way to the top. He walks over, coming to Natha Frazer and puts a hand on his shoulder smiling.

Seth tells the fans that his youngest disciple Nathan, has shown the world the power of his teachings as Frazer lifts up the Cruiserweight title with a smug smirk on his face. Seth showed Nathan how to be a star, training him from the ground up and now he runs the Cruiserweight division. Seth walks over to Karrion Kross and says his devil has shown the wrath of what happens when you stand in the way of God. Kross nods as Seth confirms he will be entering the House always wins match and when he walks out with the win, he will be going after Roman’s Universal title, getting a mixed reaction from the live crowd.

Seth is about to carry on, but they are soon interrupted by The New Day making their way out. Kofi Kingston speaks first and says last week he realized that he needs to exercise something he didn’t deal with 2 years ago. Karrion Kross smirks in the ring as Kofi brings up his loss at WrestleMania 36. Kofi says he knows he can beat Kross and prove that the self-proclaimed devil isn’t better than him. Karrion Kross gets to his feet, borrowing the microphone for the moment.

Kross says Kofi is too positive to do what needs to be done and he will gladly crush him next week. Kofi however, shakes his head saying next week he will win and then go on to the House always wins match, looking for the chance to get revenge on Roman Reigns for taking his World title two years ago. The crowd is behind Kofi, who seems fired up before he passes the microphone to WWE Champion Big E! Big E says Seth can talk about being this saviour, but he is just a con artist.

Seth chuckles in response to this statement, but Big E doubles down on his statement. He says Nathan Frazer won the Cruiserweight title because of his skills. Nathan seems unsure how to respond, but Big E carries on saying Frazer was always talented and Seth scooped in to manipulate him into doing his bidding; to give Seth the edge he needed to get back to the top. Seth says he doesn’t need anyone to get to the top, getting a slight look from Scarlett Bordeaux that he doesn’t see.

Seth says he brought these men into the church to be his disciples and guide them to the top, saying he will even prove it by fighting alone if he needs to when the time comes. Xavier Woods says how about Nathan also proves himself and fights alone later tonight. Nathan Frazer asks for the microphone and tells Woods he will gladly take down Mark Andrews alone, promising to show Woods what a real Cruiserweight Champion looks like. There is tension between the two groups, but Seth leads his followers to the back whilst Humberto Carrillo comes out for the next match!

Match 3: Humberto Carrillo w/Zelina Vega vs Xavier Woods w/The New Day

Match summary:
When we return from the commercial break, the match erupts into action, and the commentary team observes that Kofi and Big E hover at ringside, refusing to trust Zelina to keep her distance. Humberto attacks with more aggression as he aims to impress Wade Barrett and secure a spot in the House always wins match at Summerslam. Xavier Woods, however, draws on his outstanding form from the past year and fells Humberto Carrillo with LIMIT BREAK to seize a victory on Monday Night Raw!

Winner via pinfall: Xavier Woods (8:11)

The crowd cheers loudly as Xavier Woods gets back to his feet with a smile on his face, joined inside the ring by the rest of The New Day, who celebrate with him. The commentary team puts over Xavier Woods's performance and says it might have put him in contention for a future Cruiserweight title shot. The New Day carries on their celebrations in the ring before we cut elsewhere backstage.

We see the Blackhearted Witches hanging out backstage as Cathy Kelley approaches them, looking to get a few words. She asks Shotzi how they feel knowing they are facing the two women in Summerslam’s night 1 main event and Shotzi has a scowl, saying it should be going to them instead of getting a nod from KiLynn King. KiLynn says when they step into the ring for tonight’s main event, they get to prove they belong and when they win, they want a future Women’s Universal title shot!

When we return from the commercial break, Bianca Belair sits across from Michael Cole. Michael thanks her for coming. Belair appreciates the chance to talk. He praises her Queen of the Ring win from a couple of months ago. Belair calls it her greatest achievement so far and highlights the strength of the Women’s division in 2021. Michael jokes about her not wearing a crown; Belair replies that's not her style and she'd rather make her own robe.

Michael Cole says this might not be known by the WWE Universe, but Bianca makes all of her own ring gear. She nods, saying she has always had the attitude of if you want something done right, do it yourself and when you have that mindset, you need to make sure you are the best at everything. Michael Cole puts over her time in NXT and the fact that she kept breaking the records in every track event: speed, power, endurance before calling her almost the perfect athlete.

Belair chuckles and thanks Michael, but makes it clear she doesn’t think she is perfect. She tells Michael that the moment you think you have reached perfection, you stop improving, you stop trying to get better and she has a mountain she has to climb standing her way: Rhea Ripley. Michael Cole nods, saying Rhea Ripley is currently the Women’s Universal Champion and stands atop the Raw Women’s division; however Belair has faced her before in NXT.

Belair nods and says Ripley was the person who ended her NXT Women’s Champion run. She takes a moment, sighing, and says that loss hurts, I mean, any loss does hurt. She takes a moment, saying Rhea Ripley is coming in like a storm, and that defeating her makes her realize she needs to regroup and get back on track. Belair says losing to Ripley and Charlotte at the Takeover before WrestleMania made up her mind, she needed to head to Raw and SmackDown, waiting for Ripley there so she could prove why she is the E.S.T!

Michael Cole says she had one hell of a run on SmackDown, going undefeated until she ran into Asuka. Belair nods and says it was a sign that she still had work to do to make it to the top. Belair says that loss meant going back to the gym for even longer and working on finding a way to defeat her… but then she came face to face with Rhea Ripley in the Royal Rumble! Belair says in that moment she kind of knew it wasn’t just Asuka she had to defeat to be the B.E.S.T!

Michael Cole says that when she won Queen of the Ring, there was never any doubt about which champion she wanted to fight at Summerslam. Bianca shakes her head and says even if she ended up on SmackDown, she would have demanded being traded to Raw to get this match. Belair wraps up the interview by looking at Michael Cole, telling him that she needs to beat Rhea Ripley at Summerslam. Michael Cole nods and thanks her for her time before we cut elsewhere backstage.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We see The O.C. hanging out in their locker room backstage, and Adam Cole is standing in front of the group with a slightly cocky smirk on his face. Jordan Devlin, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows are sitting behind him as Cole says it is time for story time with Adam Cole and pulls out a book with the title “The Career of AJ Styles”. Adam starts by saying that AJ Styles started in WCW, with clips shown of his time in the dying days of the company, with Cole saying that the company died shortly after.

Cole quips, " Maybe that’s unrelated, before moving on to AJ Styles touring all over America before settling down in TNA. Adam Cole says AJ tried to make it the top company in America as the face of it, but he failed. Cole turns to the rest of the O.C. and says, " Maybe if it were him, TNA would have made it. He chuckles to himself before saying AJ was then offered fair pay, but the greedy self-proclaimed Phenomenal One overvalued himself, so he left TNA to go to Japan.

Adam Cole gives AJ credit, saying he made a name for himself, joined the biggest group in Japan, as we see stills of his time in the Bullet Club… with Adam Cole commenting that it was from Finn Balor’s hard work getting a nod from Luke Gallows in the background. Cole then says he was soon run out of Japan by some elite friends of his, prompting a smug smirk from Cole before saying AJ Styles came to the WWE, as we see his debut in the Royal Rumble!

Adam Cole says AJ stayed out of NXT because he knew if he had to fight to get to Raw, he would fail. Cole says AJ has had a good career, two world titles and two United States titles, showing he is good, but says AJ only made it due to having the power of the O.C. at his back. Cole says now they have ditched the dead weight and AJ is on his own, floundering. Adam says Big Cass is still by your side, but soon he will see sense and go out on his own, wondering who AJ Styles is when there is no one backing him up?

Match 4: Cruiserweight title match: Nathan Frazer © w/Karrion Kross and Seth Rollins vs Mark Andrews

Match summary:
The commentary team notes that, coming into this match, Nathan Frazer might be showing no remorse for injuring Ilja Dragunov, but he will need to be careful if the Mad Russian comes looking for him. Mark Andrews comes into this match knowing this is the biggest opportunity of his singles career so far and he catches Nathan Frazer off-guard, forcing him to the outside of the ring, where he talks to his leader, Seth Rollins and Karrion Kross for advice.

Nathan Frazer, once he gets back into the ring, starts to get more aggressive and nastier, targeting the left leg of Mark Andrews. The commentary team wonders if he is trying to injure Mark Andrews in the same way he has injured Ilja Dragunov and Gran Metalik in recent weeks. In the closing stages of the match, Andrews is too slow, hitting FALL TO PIECES allowing Frazer to avoid it before running the ropes and connecting with a CURB STOMP for the victory!

Winner via pinfall and still Cruiserweight Champion: Nathan Frazer (7:03)

The crowd loudly boos after the bell, but Nathan Frazer manages to keep his Cruiserweight title in his first-ever defence. Seth Rollins and Karrion Kross join him inside the ring to celebrate the victory tonight. Mark Andrews is struggling in pain on the mat, but The Church doesn’t care as they all START TO ATTACK MARK ANDREWS! The commentary team wonders if this is Seth sending a message to the New Day going into Summerslam. The beatdown looks like it is about to carry on when…

BRITISH STRONG STYLE RUNS OUT FIRST, FOLLOWED BY THE NEW DAY!
All five men sprint to the ring, ready to fight off the Church of Seth Rollins. Their opponents look to their leader, who signals for them to escape, and they flee through the crowd. Xavier Woods and Tyler Bate check on Mark Andrews, while Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Pete Dunne stay in the ring, making it clear they are far from done with the Church as Raw goes to commercial break.

The 3rd hour of Monday Night Raw starts with Stone Cold Steve Austin making his way out, getting a huge pop from the fans. He goes through his normal entrance to the delight of the live crowd and poses on each turnbuckle before grabbing a microphone and heading back to the middle of the ring. He plays to the crowd, going through his usual spiel as he gets them hyped up before getting down to business, as he wants to talk about one man: Randy Orton!

Austin looks furious as he looks at the fans before saying that in all his years in the business, there were many stupid sons of a bitches, but none of them were stupid enough to break into his home! Austin says Orton is luckily there was no family there at the time because it means Austin is just going to beat the shit out of him at Summerslam! The crowd cheers as Austin makes it clear that he considers himself retired and didn’t want another match, but Orton forced him to step into the ring one last time.

Austin says that by breaking into his home, he did something worse than when he punted him in the skull. Something worse than breaking into his home, something worse than breaking his belongings, including his truck. Austin shakes his head and tells the fans Orton challenged his pride! Austin says Orton knew that if Stone Cold didn’t step into the ring with him at Summerslam, he would be able to call him a coward. Stone Cold refuses to allow someone like Orton to get away with it!

At this point, Randy Orton slowly walks out onto the stage with a smirk on his face and tells Stone Cold that he wasn’t challenging his pride; he was making sure he could get the pound of flesh he was owed. Austin glares at him as Orton confirms both men have been banned from physical contact with one another, which is the only thing saving Austin from having his skull kicked in! Orton says he was robbed of the chance to destroy the legend of Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The crowd loudly boos Randy Orton, who paces around slowly at the top of the entrance ramp, not phased by it for a second. He tells Stone Cold that the match at Summerslam is what was owed to him at WrestleMania and it is time for him to end the ultimate legend in WWE. Stone Cold remains defiant in the ring and tells Orton that greater men have tried to. Stone Cold finishes the promo, saying at Summerslam he will cut the head off the Viper and that’s the bottom line because Stone Cold said so!

AJ stands and fist bumps Cass before turning toward the camera.

AJ says Adam Cole is obsessed with his past, whilst AJ is obsessed with his future! Styles says he heard Adam Cole recapping his career, and all he could think as Cole was listing it was how truly Phenomenal he is! AJ Styles says that for all of the talk from Cole, he paved the way to the WWE and Adam Cole just followed in his footsteps. AJ says he has spoken to Wade Barrett and next week, both men will take part in a pick your poison challenge, with AJ promising to bring Adam’s past back to haunt him!

Match 5: Montez Ford w/Angelo Dawkins vs Zack Gibson w/James Drake and Trent Seven

Match summary:
Montez Ford comes into this match with a fast pace, catching Zack Gibson out and even forcing him to the outside of the ring. The crowd cheers for Montez whilst James Drake and Trent Seven discuss a game plan with the Scouser outside the ring. Gibson gets back into the match and using a distraction from his allies at ringside, turns the match by targeting the right leg of Montez! From there, Gibson starts to grind down and work over Ford. In the closing stages of the match, just when Montez is coming back, TRENT TRIPS HIM UP! Ford turns to confront them BUT GIBSON ROLLS HIM UP TO STEAL THE WIN!

Winner via pinfall: Zack Gibson (8:58)

Gibson gets to his feet with a smug smirk, whilst Montez Ford looks angry with how his rival stole the win, but he doesn’t get much of a chance to do anything about it as TRENT SEVEN AND JAMES DRAKE ATTACK HIM FROM BEHIND! The boos ring out from the live crowd, but Angelo Dawkins grabs hold of a steel chair and SLIDES INTO THE RING THREATENING THE TRIO FORCING THEM OUT OF THE RING AND UP THE ENTRANCE RAMP! When we return from the commercial break, we cut to another sit-down interview as Michael Cole sits across the room from Women’s Universal Champion Rhea Ripley. Michael thanks her for agreeing to this interview, getting a smile and a nod from the Women’s Champion. She nods, saying it is her pleasure and as a champion, she has a duty to be a representative. Michael Cole starts the interview off by saying Ripley has had one hell of a rise since joining the WWE and being a part of NXT UK.

Michael Cole would bring up her start in WWE as a rookie in the Mae Young Classic before coming back in the 2nd year as a totally different woman. Rhea smiles, saying that when she came to the WWE, she wasn’t being herself, she was being someone else and that was her mistake. Ripley says after losing to Dakota Kai in the 2nd round and seeing Kai being true to who she was, she went home and made a promise to herself that she was always going to be herself.

Michael Cole says it was a much more successful go the 2nd time around with Ripley making it to the semi-final before losing to Iyo Sky. Ripley looks a bit annoyed at the name drop, but turns to a smile and says Iyo Sky is one of the best wrestlers in the world. She says that the tournament showed her how to win. Michael Cole would mention that shortly after, Rhea Ripley would head to NXT UK and become the first NXT UK Women’s Champion.

Ripley says Toni Storm is one of the best wrestlers in the world and it took her all to defeat her to become champion before saying she expects big things from the rockstar on SmackDown Live. Michael Cole says Ripley would soon leave NXT UK after losing her title to Toni Storm and make an immediate impact on NXT, going right after Bianca Belair. This brings a smile to the face of Rhea Ripley, who says she didn’t want to wait around any longer and wanted to get to the top of NXT, so she went after the best of the best down there.

Michael Cole says Bianca Belair was coming off beating Dakota Kai and being very cocky, prompting a nod from Ripley. She smirks, telling Michael Cole that Belair used to be a lot cockier and it was a lot of fun knocking her off her perch. Michael comments that Belair doesn’t lack confidence, but Ripley shakes her head, saying there is a difference, prompting a head tilt from Michael Cole. The champion tells Cole that she never lacks confidence but also never underestimates anyone.

Belair used to think there was no one close to her and she even took that attitude to SmackDown Live when she first left NXT. Michael Cole says against Asuka, and Ripley nods. Rhea says there is a reason Asuka proclaims no one is ready for Asuka and that is due to her mindset. Ripley says Asuka gets into people’s heads, making them respond in two ways. They either doubt they can beat her or they get too focused on beating her and make mistakes.

Michael Cole says this brings him back to Summerslam and he asks Rhea Ripley if she feels Bianca Belair might be too in her own head about beating her. Ripley nods, saying that Belair wants to beat her and senses she is a little too determined to defeat her in the ring. Ripley holds the title up, saying she stands atop the division and she has no plans to start losing to Belair, now making it clear she has her scouted and is ready for the E.S.T at Summerslam!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut back to the ring as Blissmoon makes their way out with scowls on their faces. Ember Moon makes sure to show off the Money in the Bank briefcase as she makes her way down the entrance ramp, taunting the fans in the crowd. Both women get into the ring with microphones in their hands, ready to address the live crowd. Ember Moon starts the promo by reminding Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair that everyone fighting for the Women’s Universal title is just a placeholder until she chooses to take back her spot at the top!

The crowd loudly boos, but Ember Moon doesn’t care as she lets Alexa Bliss take over the promo, and she says they have been patiently waiting all night to find out who would be stupid enough to team with Mickie James at Summerslam! She says she is sick of waiting and that she wants to get this charade over with! They demand that Mickie James make her way out here right now to confirm that Summerslam is going to be a handicap match!

Mickie James comes out with a microphone in hand and has a big smile on her face, whilst the crowd gives her a decent reaction. She takes a moment to stand on the top of the entrance ramp and says Blissmoon is partly right. Mickie confirms there is not a woman in the Raw, SmackDown, NXT, or NXT UK locker room she would trust to team with her at Summerslam. Bliss acts cocky, telling Ember Moon off-mic she told her that Mickie wouldn’t find anyone, but Mickie says instead she looked to her past as…

TRISH STARTUS MAKES HER WAY OUT! The pop from the live crowd is huge as the legend of the women’s division stands next to her old rival as they share a nod before looking at Blissmoon in the ring, who are stunned! The pair of legends don’t waste any time, however and sprint to the ring as they charge at Blissmoon, catching them off-guard as they lay into both of them with hard strikes. The heels end up falling out of the ring to the outside and the legends stand tall as we cut to a commercial break.

Match 6: Aleister Black vs Braun Strowman

Match summary:
Aleister Black comes into this match with that black scar around his eye getting even bigger, whilst Braun Strowman walks to the ring in his old black sheep mask from his early days in the Wyatts. This match ends up being an all-out war with Aleister Black throwing whatever kicks, strikes, and submissions he can at the Monster Among Men, but he struggles to keep Braun Strowman down, who keeps rising up like a horror movie villain.

As the match carries on, Aleister’s strikes get more aggressive and vicious, with him even resorting to scratching at Braun’s eyes when in the grasp of the monster. In the closing stages, when Black is desperately trying to escape a RUNNING POWERSLAM… HE PULLS THE TURNBUCKLE PAD OFF! He slips out and Braun charges forward, headbutting the exposed turnbuckle… BLACK MASS… BRAUN FALLS INTO THE ROPES AND BOUNCES BACK FOR A SECOND BLACK MASS! Aleister Black makes the cover 1 2 3 Black wins!

Winner via pinfall: Aleister Black (6:32)

Aleister Black stands, expression cold and blank. The referee raises his arm and the crowd reacts mixedly, but BRAUN STROWMAN SLOWLY RISES… DROPKICK FROM ALEISTER BLACK! Black drops him, eyes locked, shouting for him to rise… BLACK MASS! Braun collapses after the third and isn’t moving… BUT ALEISTER BLACK ISN’T DONE!

He rolls to the outside of the ring and grabs a steel chair. He slides back inside, looking at the monster among men with a cool, dark look in his eyes. He lays into him with a steel chair on the mat, keeping him down! Braun isn’t moving. Aleister Black isn’t done. He heads to the corner of the ring, places the steel chair around Braun Strowman's head and neck, and climbs to the top rope… diving off, pilmanizing the neck of Braun Strowman!

The crowd loudly cheers as Black looks at Braun Strowman down on the mat, not moving and seems to show no remorse for destroying the Monster Among Men here. The lights then soon go out and THE FIEND APPEARS AT THE TOP OF THE ENTRANCE RAMP! The monster stands at the top of the entrance ramp as Aleister Black gets ready for a fight, but instead, the monster just stands there staring at Aleister Black, confusing the former World Champion, and confusing the commentary team as we cut elsewhere.

Main event: Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair vs Blackhearted Witches

Match summary:
Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair come into this match not on the same page early on. The Blackhearted Witches use that to take advantage and control the match, with King using her power whilst Shotzi uses her speed to wear down Rhea Ripley in the corner of the ring and struggles due to the damage she is still suffering in her right arm after Deonna Purrazzo's attack at the Great American Bash. Ripley, though, fights through the pain and breaks through, making the tag to bring Bianca Belair back into the match!

Belair is on fire and starts to take control of the match, easily overpowering both of the witches, including a fun spot where she hurls Shotzi Blackheart at KiLynn King. In the closing stages of the match, Belair doesn’t look to be in any trouble, but Rhea Ripley tags herself back into the match! Belair looks annoyed but focuses on making sure Kilynn King is taken care of! Rhea Ripley, meanwhile, grabs hold of Shotzi Blackheart and slams her down with the RIPTIDE giving her team the victory!

Winners via pinfall: Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair (8:19)

The crowd cheers loudly as the two top women on Monday Night Raw come out on top, but it is very clear there is still tension between them. The referee brings the Women’s Universal title to Rhea Ripley, but Bianca Belair takes it for a moment, angering Rhea Ripley. SmackDown Live Recap

July 30th 2021
St. Paul, Minnesota

Xcel Centre

SmackDown Live starts with the signature cold open, as we see the Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection arriving at the arena in a bad mood. Sasha Banks starts the promo by saying Team Kick pulled off the miracle of a lifetime when they took their tag team titles. Bayley then takes over and says Shawn Michaels is biased against them because they should be getting a two-vs-two rematch, but instead have to qualify for a 6-team ladder match. Sasha Banks follows by saying it doesn’t matter because they are the greatest team in WWE history, and they’re taking back their titles at Summerslam!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MAYHEM – HALESTORM
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SmackDown Live starts officially with the Man Becky Lynch marching to the ring with a microphone in hand and a determined look on her face. She paces around the ring, fired up, and says that when she was sitting at home with her little girl, she was thinking about what she was going to do the moment she got back. She says it is always fun to kick Charlotte’s ass, but honestly, she has been doing that for years, and it’s getting a bit boring, which gets a few laughs from the crowd.

Becky says she knew that Charlotte was always going to stick her nose in where it didn’t belong like she always does, but now she has sent her to the back of the line; it is time to get to why she came back: to take the WWE Women’s title from Shayna Baszler! The crowd boos loudly for the mention of the WWE Women’s Champion and Becky makes it clear that she hates her too. Becky says she wanted her pound of flesh from Shayna, but then she did something so horrible it made Becky hate her more than anyone else… she made her feel sorry for Ronda Rousey!

Becky walks around shaking her head and tells the crowd that she hates the little weirdo, but even she didn’t like what Shayna and the MMA Horsewomen did to her! She hates Ronda on a personal level and always will, but to attack a newly pregnant mum is a different kind of evil. Becky says watching at home, she knew it didn’t matter the brand; once she was cleared to come back, she was going to kick Shayna's ass and now she gets to take the WWE Women’s title from her too!

This brings out Shayna Baszler, flanked by the rest of the MMA Horsewomen and she has a scowl on her face. Shayna says Becky pretending to care about Ronda Rousey is cute, but what she did to her former best friend was a mercy killing. The crowd loudly boos, but Shayna said Ronda had gotten soft and it was shown by her starting a family. Ronda had forgotten what they had come to the WWE to do, so she got rid of the dead weight. Shayna says Ronda has outlived her purpose and now it was her time on top, showing off her WWE Women’s title.

Shayna says Becky went away and they made it to the top… Becky cuts her off, pointing out what happened when they fought the rest of the 4 Horsewomen. Shayna scoffs and says that they have improved since then, whilst they are no longer united and Becky is alone, dropping the microphone as she heads to the ring with the rest of the MMA Horsewomen getting ready to surround the ring, but Becky remains unfazed, saying she isn’t stupid enough to not bring any back up…

FIRE AND DESIRE MAKE THEIR WAY OUT! Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville get a pretty decent reaction from the live crowd thanks to Mandy’s recent romance with Otis Dozovic and they make sure to have kendo sticks in hand as they attack the MMA Horsewomen, sending them retreating up the entrance ramp. Shayna and the group back away, wanting no part of this now the numbers are even before Shawn Michaels comes out making a trios match between the group official for the main event!

When we return from the commercial break, we see John Cena on a film set with a serious look on his face. He says last week was his chance to get back to the top, get back into contention for the Universal title and get number 17. He shakes his head, saying during the whole match it felt like there was one man standing in his way, almost like he was told to stop me at all costs: Jacob Fatu. Cena says he gets why Roman Reigns was scared, but he has never seen someone so tough be someone else’s little bitch!

John Cena says he has seen lackeys before, but he has never seen one with as much potential as Jacob Fatu wasting it being someone else’s lackey. Cena says he has been fighting to get number 17, but the United States title is a title that has meant the world to him over the years and to see it being held by someone doing what Fatu does isn’t something he can abide by, so he is killing two birds with one stone because he is challenging Jacob Fatu for the United States title. And once he is done with him, Roman Reigns is next!

Match 1: Killian Dain and Drake Maverick vs Veer and Shanky

Match summary:
Killian Dain and Drake Maverick come into this match looking for revenge after the events of World’s End. Veer and Shanky though, have serious scowls on their face whilst Jinder Mahal hypes them up on commentary. He also adds that he is in the potential entrant pool for the House Always Wins match at Summerslam. In the ring, Drake Maverick is dominated by the larger opponent but makes the hot tag to Killian Dain… WHO IS CUT OFF AND OVERWHELMED BY THE GIANTS! Both men grab hold of Killian Dain by the throat and lift him up, hitting a DUAL CHOKESLAM for the debut victory!

Winners via pinfall: Veer and Shanky (4:50)

The boos ring out from the live crowd whilst Jinder Mahal on commentary obnoxiously applauds his newest allies. He leaves the commentary desk, heading into the ring and gives them instructions to carry on the beatdown, which they do to the popular unlikely duo. Drake and Dain try to fight back against the numbers game, but it is too much for them and they are left lying in the ring. Jinder Mahal, Veer and Shanky stand tall in the middle of the ring as we cut elsewhere backstage.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We then cut to a video package showing Bronson Reed from NXT in action on the 3rd brand and his time as North American Champion. We then hear from Bronson Reed, who confirms that both Wade Barrett and Shawn Michaels are looking to bring him to Raw and SmackDown! He promises to bring a tsunami to whichever brand he ends up on and everyone better watch out if he sees them in the House Always Wins match!

When we return from the commercial break, we can see Shawn Michaels sitting in his office with the WWE tag team champions Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio joining him in the office. He thanks them for coming and both say it was their pleasure, bringing a smile to Shawn’s face. Shawn says both men have been ready for their next challengers and he wanted the champion to hear how he was going to decide first hand. He confirmed next on SmackDown it will be The Hurt Business vs Dynasty to crown the number one contender for Summerslam.

Rey and Dom are both happy with that announcement, saying they are happy to take on all challengers before all 3 men are interrupted by Jinder Mahal walking into the room with Veer and Shanky. He asks if everyone saw what Veer and Shanky did tonight, with an annoyed Michaels quipping yes, hence why he has had to send Dain and Drake to a hospital. Jinder says that is what happens when you step to them, but Dom shows no fear and challenges the pair to a match next week. Rey steps in, saying he agrees leading to Shawn signing the match for next week’s show.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut elsewhere backstage as Jeff Jarrett and Heath Slater are hanging out with each other, sharing a laugh before turning to the camera and asking if people really thought they would lower themselves to fight wannabe rockstars. Jarrett says the beating they gave the Rockstars last week was a warning and if the pair of them are smart, they will stay out of their way whilst Jarrett leads Slater to success.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut back to the ring for the 2nd match of the night, but we don’t even get it underway as Tucker Knight attacks Otis from behind before the bell can even ring! The crowd loudly boos as Tucker Knight beats down on his former tag team partner and best friend before sending him into the steel steps with a hard thud! Tucker Knight doesn’t stop there as he gets some room before hitting a CANNONBALL SENTON CRUSHING OTIS DOZOVIC ON THE STEEL STEPS!

The crowd is giving Tucker Knight a whole bunch of heat, but he doesn’t give a damn as he grabs the steel steps that have been dislodged whilst security comes down to the ring trying to stop him… BUT TUCKER KNIGHT KNOCKS THEM DOWN WITH THE STEEL STEPS! Otis tries to get back to his feet, but Tucker runs through him with a shot from the steel steps! He falls down to the floor as Tucker puts down the steel steps, but then has an idea!

Tucker Knight grabs hold of Otis Dozovic, lifts him off the ring floor into the air and grabs hold of him HITTING A POWERSLAM ONTO THE STEEL STEPS! Otis isn’t moving as the crowd boos this heinous attack from Tucker Knight. We see MANDY ROSE run out from the back to check on Otis, but Tucker Knight walks away from the wreckage he has left his former tag team partner in as he laughs to himself whilst we cut to a commercial break.

Match 2: Alpha Academy: (Chad Gable and Buddy Murphy) vs Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher

Match summary:
When we return from the commercial break and during the entrances for this match, we get an update from the commentary team that Otis Dozovic has been taken to a local medical facility due to the injuries sustained in the attack by Tucker Knight. They also confirm that Mandy Rose has stayed in the building for tonight’s main event, but their sources say she is not doing well and is very distressed due to the attack on her boyfriend by his former tag team partner.

In-ring action-wise, the recent wars between the two groups lead this to being a very aggressive match, with Gable especially showing an aggression we have not seen in years from the former United States Champion. Ciampa and Thatcher look to take advantage of his anger, with them looking to grind down and hurt both members of Alpha Academy, but both teams are fairly evenly matched as the match starts to reach the closing stages.

Chad Gable and Timothy Thatcher are the legal men in the ring when we hear the music for Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic, who make their way out onto the entrance ramp, getting the attention of Ciampa and Thatcher. This distraction is enough for Buddy Murphy to make sure Ciampa stays out of the ring and Gable hits the CHAOS THEORY SUPLEX! Gable doesn’t stop there, heading up top and diving off hitting a DIVING MOONSAULT to give Alpha Academy a much-needed victory!

Winners via pinfall: Alpha Academy (7:54)

The crowd loudly cheers as Alpha Academy gets back to their feet and celebrates a big victory on SmackDown Live tonight thanks to a well-timed distraction from Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic! Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher meanwhile, outside of the ring look furious, whilst Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic smirk at the top of the entrance ramp before we head elsewhere backstage.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut to the inside of the Bloodline locker room, with Roman Reigns sitting at the head of the table with a serious look on his face. We can see on one side of the table Jacob Fatu, Nia Jax and Paul Heyman, whilst on the other side of the table we have Jey Uso and Naomi. Roman says now is the time for the Bloodline to solidify their domination of SmackDown Live and make sure that everyone knows to acknowledge him. He turns to Jey Uso first, saying he has to make up for getting a nod from the former tag team champion.

Jey nods, saying yes chief and promises to defeat Daniel Bryan protégé Daniel Garcia, who gets no verbal answer from Roman, who looks to Nia Jax and Naomi next. He tells them that it will be a chaotic match, but he expects them to get themselves into the Summerslam match. Naomi nods whilst Nia Jax promises to make sure Naomi follows her lead, getting a dirty look from Naomi. Roman Reigns looks at Jacob Fatu and Paul Heyman nods to them, standing up before telling them it is time for the pair of them to attend some business.

We start the 2nd hour of SmackDown Live with Men’s Universal Champion Roman Reigns making his way out to the ring, joined by his Wiseman Paul Heyman and United States Champion Jacob Fatu. The crowd rains down heat on the Tribal Chief and the Bloodline as they walk to the ring, still furious about Roman Reigns banishing Daniel Bryan from the WWE. Once inside the ring, Roman Reigns starts his promo off in typical fashion as he tells the crowd to acknowledge me!

The crowd naturally doesn’t respond to it in a positive fashion and boos even louder. Paul Heyman tells the crowd to show respect to the chief, but Roman shakes his head, telling his Wiseman that he will let these people have their tears because Daniel Bryan is never coming back, further pissing off the fans. Roman has a smug smirk before ploughing on through the boos and telling the fans that he will address the next person who will be forced to acknowledge him, but first his right-hand man has something to say.

Jacob Fatu takes the microphone and looks at Roman Reigns, telling his Tribal Chief that he loves him before looking to address the fans booing loudly. He says he heard John Cena was calling him out, lifting his United States title into the air with a defiant look on his face. He calls John Cena a punk-ass Hollywood bitch who thinks he can turn up once a year and still run the place? Nah, this is Roman’s yard youknowwhatImean! Jacob Fatu makes it clear that he accepts Cena’s challenge for Summerslam!

The crowd gives a loud cheer, excited to see a blockbuster match signed for Summerslam, as Jacob passes the microphone back to Roman Reigns. He says that Jacob Fatu is going to take care of John Cena and send him running back to Hollywood, knowing that this is Roman’s yard! The crowd keeps booing, but before Roman can keep talking, Drew McIntyre interrupts him! The number one contender for the Universal title at Summerslam has a microphone in hand and stands at the top of the entrance ramp with a slight smile.

Drew says he was sitting in the back and listening to Roman talk, and he was wondering if Roman was ever going to shut the hell up. This gets huge cheers from the crowd as Roman glares at Drew, but the Sinister Scotsman makes it clear that he isn’t afraid of Roman Reigns. Drew reminds the fans that he dethroned Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36 and then a few weeks later threw him off Hell in a Cell. Roman in the ring clenches his fist, but Drew says that is proof that he is the one to end this reign of terror.

Drew already has proven he can defeat Roman Reigns, and that’s why Jacob Fatu was in the title match, to try to stop him and John Cena. Roman grips his Universal title a little bit tighter as Drew says he is scared of his past coming back to collect! Roman says he holds no fear and that he is the top star in the WWE, saying no one is capable of defeating him. Jacob signals for the microphone and challenges Drew to find out what awaits him and Cena at Summerslam next week! Drew smirks, saying he would ask Cena if he accepts, but he knows the answer, so we will see both of them next week!

When we return from the commercial break, we can see an angry Charlotte Flair backstage with a scowl on her face. She is stopped for an interview by Kayla Braxton, who asks Charlotte about the brawl she had last week on SmackDown Live with Taynara Conti. Charlotte says Taynara Conti had her 15 minutes of fame at the top of SmackDown come to an end and took it out on the Queen. Kayla points out that Charlotte interrupted Conti’s interview, which angers the 9-time champion.

Charlotte says she is the biggest star in the Women’s division and when she wants interview time she gets it. She points at Kayla Braxton, telling her that she should know this, but that gets an eye roll from the interviewer. Charlotte then makes it clear that Conti needs to be taught a lesson and is therefore issuing the challenge to fight her at Summerslam. Charlotte finishes, saying once she is taken care of, she is getting her 10th World title.

Match 3: Qualifying match for Summerslam: Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection vs Toni Storm and Emma vs Medusa Complex vs The Bloodline

Match summary:
Team Kick comes out to watch on commentary and see the final challengers for Summerslam. All 4 teams come into this match desperate to advance to Summerslam and get the chance to become WWE Women’s tag team champions. The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection looks to stay on the ring apron and pick their spots within this match whilst the other 3 teams wrestle the majority of the match.

Toni Storm and Emma impress the crowd, showing off their skills whilst Medusa Complex end up brawling into the crowd with The Bloodline! This leaves it as a 2 vs 2 match in the ring and Sasha Banks ends up brawling outside the ring with Toni Storm, leaving Bayley alone with Emma. The Aussie veteran tries to pull off an upset, but Bayley catches her with THE ROSEPLANT! She makes the cover and the Role Models advance to Summerslam!

Winners via pinfall: Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection (9:37)

The crowd boos, but the Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection don’t care as they get the victory, knowing they are one step closer to getting their WWE Women’s tag team titles back. Team Kick get up from the commentary desk and show off their tag team titles, leading to both teams trash-talking each other whilst we cut to a commercial break.

We then cut back to the ring as L.A. Knight makes his way out to the ring with a cocky smirk on his face and a microphone in hand as he starts to once again trash talk the fans as he heads down the entrance ramp. He gets into the ring, saying at Summerslam he gets to show the world what a real megastar looks like. He brings up World’s End, saying he would have beaten John Cena in the middle of the ring and would be the one fighting Jacob Fatu for the United States title… YEAH!

Knight says Edge is a relic of the past, just like John Cena and that’s why nowadays they get along so well. The crowd cheers for the Rated R Superstar during this promo, which further starts to annoy Knight in the ring. Knight says those dummies can cheer for him all they want, but they are going to cheer for a man soon to have a broken neck! Very loud boos from the crowd, but L.A. Knight says they can be dummies all they want, just like Edge’s wife Beth!

Beth looks angry on commentary, but L.A. Knight doesn’t give a damn, further taunting the commentator! He carries on mocking Beth and even says she will have to stay at home to look after Edge when he is done with him… EDGE COMES OUT AND IS FURIOUS! He sprints to the ring and looks to attack L.A. Knight, but the Megastar leaves the ring, once avoiding the Rated R Superstar. Edge looks on as Knight from the crowd makes it clear he will do this on his terms and wait till Summerslam to end Edge’s career!

When we return from the commercial break, Taynara Conti is shown sitting backstage with her friend and tag team partner Xia Li. Conti says it’s been a rough two weeks, but she is fighting to get back to the top. She tells the camera that she isn’t someone who is just handed title shots and chances due to her name or legacy in this company. She says that’s why she wasn’t just handed a rematch for the title she lost. We can see Conti wincing as her arm is in a ton of pain due to the damage done by Shayna Baszler during their World’s End match.

Conti says Charlotte got in her face and tried to take her time because that’s what Charlotte does. She takes everyone’s spotlight and hogs for herself. Conti smiles though saying she has found her opportunity to get back into the Women’s title picture. Taynara says she is accepting Charlotte’s challenge for Summerslam and when she beats her, she is coming back for the WWE Women’s title. Xia Li finishes the promo, calling the Queen disrespectful and challenges her to a match on SmackDown next week!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Match 4: Daniel Garcia vs Jey Uso

Match summary:
Jey Uso comes into this match fired up and almost seems kind of desperate to get the win after the tongue-lashing he got from Roman Reigns since his loss to Drew McIntyre at World’s End. The commentary team notes a win for Jey Uso might convince Shawn Michaels to give him a spot in the House Always Wins match, but as the encounter goes on, Garcia works over the right leg of Jey Uso, taking away all of his usual offence. Jey on instinct, looks for a tag and Garcia pounces, chop-blocking him before locking in a HEEL HOOK! Jey tries to escape but can’t and is forced to tap out!

Winner via submission: Daniel Garcia (6:58)

Garcia gets to his feet and celebrates the victory as he carries on his momentum ahead of being a potential entrant in the House Always Wins match at Summerslam. Meanwhile, Jey Uso sits on the ring apron, looking worried as another loss is going to piss off the Tribal Chief once again.

When we return from the commercial break, Kayla Braxton is standing with Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic, ready for an interview. Kayla brings up them costing Ciampa and Thatcher their tag team match earlier tonight with Alpha Academy. Keith nods, saying Ciampa wants to get involved with them and attack them at the behest of the Tribal Chief? He will say there is no easy money in life and everything has consequences. Keith confirms that he has spoken to Shawn Michaels and at Summerslam he will fight Tommaso Ciampa one on one!

Kayla asks why he is fighting Ciampa alone at Summerslam and Keith Lee smiles, lifting his Money in the Bank briefcase up, saying he already has his World title shot locked in, but at Summerslam Dominik Dijakovic is getting the chance to earn his! Dijakovic says he will throw his name into the hat and enter the House Always Wins match, saying he might beat Keith to take down Roman Reigns. The duo finishes off the promo by confirming next week they will be fighting Ciampa and Thatcher, saying once they are done with them, Roman won’t have much left protecting him!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We cut back to the ring with the contract on the table as Shawn Michaels stands with a microphone in hand, confirming they are going to be signing the contract to make Swerve Strickland versus Samoa Joe official for Summerslam. He first of all calls out Mogul Embassy to the ring, with Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana leading the way. AR Fox, Alexander Hammerstone and Richard Holliday follow behind them with the group cutting an imposing presence before even getting into the ring.

Shawn Michaels then brings out the Hurt Business next, with MVP walking to the ring with Samoa Joe, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin all in business suits with serious expressions on their faces. The two groups are now in the ring as Joe sits down with MVP and Swerve Strickland sits down with Prince Nana. Shawn asks both men to look through the contract, with Prince Nana taking it first and looking through it first, with Swerve nodding, but before they finish reading it, MVP interrupts them.

MVP says Joe wanted to add one more stipulation to the contract since we last went over it, getting an eyeroll from Prince Nana. Joe takes the microphone, saying he wants Swerve in that ring alone, no one else at ringside from The Hurt Business or Mogul Embassy. Prince Nana and Swerve have a few words with each other off-mic before Prince Nana confirms that the boss accepts… but Swerve takes the microphone, saying he wants it clear that Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley are also banned from ringside.

Swerve says he doesn’t trust MVP to not use the fact they are not part of The Hurt Business to their advantage. MVP chuckles and says he would have considered that, but Joe. Joe takes the microphone, pointing at Swerve and says this is what Swerve has wanted, but now he is looking to find the excuses ahead of the war he has started. Swerve stays silent as Joe makes it clear that Swerve was seen as the future; that’s going to be in the past when he is done with him.

Swerve says nothing and it is actually Richard Holliday who speaks next, saying Joe needs to understand that the consumers pointing at the crowd are looking for a new product and they are looking right at them, getting loud boos. Samoa Joe gets up, squaring up to Richard Holliday, intimidating him… BUT ALEXANDER HAMMERSTONE steps in between them as they glare at each other, with the two powerhouses ready to fight each other, leading to the rest staring each other down!

Shawn Michaels looks to keep the peace and tells them not to turn this into a fight right now. Neither man backs down, but both their managers convince them to back away; however, Hammerstone grabs the microphone, saying he will show Joe what will happen if he steps to him again when he steps into the ring with his partners and they will become tag team champions at Summerslam. Cedric shouts back that they’ll love wiping the smug smile off their faces, as the tension is clear in the ring before we cut to the final commercial break of the evening.

When we return from the commercial break, the commentary team confirms that Shawn Michaels has added Charlotte Flair versus Xia Li to next week’s card before we get the entrances for our main event. Mandy Rose is noticeably looking down and upset after what happened to her boyfriend Otis Dozovic, leading to Sonya Deville starting for the faces, whilst Marina Shafir starts for the MMA Horsewomen.

Main event: Becky Lynch and Fire and Desire vs The MMA Horsewomen

Match summary:
Sonya and Marina lock up early on in the match before Becky asks to step into the ring, dominating the MMA Horsewomen and putting the heels on the back foot. She is forced out and whilst her plus Sonya are on their A-Game, it is clear Mandy Rose’s mind is elsewhere the entire match. The MMA Horsewomen take advantage of that and use it to isolate her in their corner of the ring. Becky Lynch is noticeably annoyed on the ring apron with Shayna Baszler taunting the Man.

Mandy Rose stays alive, doing her best to fight back against the submissions and targeting of her limbs by the MMA Horsewomen, eventually making it to the corner of the ring and bringing Becky Lynch back into the match! She is on fire, taking down Natalya and Marina before coming face to face with Women’s WWE Champion Shayna Baszler! Shayna forces Becky backward and gets her on the back foot, which prompts Sonya Deville to come back into the match, tagging in!

Shayna thinking quickly, tags Natalya back into the match with Becky and Shayna both brawling to the outside of the ring! The crowd loudly cheers for the Man and it takes them away from the in-ring action, leaving it a 2 vs 2 battle inside the ropes. Sonya does her best to overcome Natalya, but the Queen of Harts manages to take her down to the mat and lock her in the SHARPSHOOTER! Mandy Rose tries to make the save, but Marina keeps her busy and Sonya is forced to tap out!

Winners via submission: The MMA Horsewomen (10:05)

The crowd boos loudly, but the MMA Horsewomen don’t care after picking up another victory on SmackDown Live as a unit. Natalya and Marina Shafir gloat in the ring, while Becky Lynch and Shayna Baszler keep brawling outside it. The other MMA Horsewomen then leave the ring, attack Becky Lynch, and leave the Man laid out, with Shayna Baszler standing tall to close SmackDown Live!

News Update:

More releases announced!

The budgets cuts within WWE have continued with the following names being released from the WWE:

  • Drake Maverick
  • Killian Dain
  • Kona Reeves
  • Leon Ruff

Noticeable Dain, Drake and Ruff were recent calls up to SmackDown and Raw with officials seeing it as a last chance for all 3 to impress/creative to find a use for them. We have heard however these are not the last names to be cut over the next few weeks.

Riddick Moss moves to SmackDown Live

In light of the recent budget cuts, a deal has been discussed where Riddick Moss has been moved to the blue brand, we will wait to see if this means a new push for the young superstar who has been stagnating on Monday Night Raw ever since his tag team partner Mojo Rawley was let go from WWE.

- Andrade Cien Almas' experience in Triple Threat Matches is not very good and he has to defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against both Sheamus & Cesaro...doesn't even have to be involved in the decision to lose his title...imagine that

- Adam Cole vs AJ Styles is a Dream Match for me so to see it happen at SummerSlam...I can't wait

- Shayna Baszler just won the title and now she is in major danger of losing the title especially now that she has to face Becky Lynch not just face her but facing The Man...The Man Always Comes Around and Becky never lost her title. She had to surrender it because she got pregnant but she's back now...but then Becky has to worry about MMA Horsewomen interference because you know Natalya and Shafir will get involved

- WWE Women's Tag Team Championship in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs match with multiple teams in 1 match..this match can steal the show if you ask me

- Charlotte Flair vs Tay Conti is another Dream Match that we get for SummerSlam and whoever wins that; basically puts themselves front of the line for a title shot at the WWE Women's Championship

- The greatest Dream Match just happens to be in No Holds Barred...clash of generations with Orton & Austin but it has become very personal very fast and honestly I can't wait

- Jacob Fatu this is his perhaps toughest title defense especially facing the GOAT the greatest of all time in John Cena with that WWE United States Championship on the line at SummerSlam...Cena is a first ballot WWE future Hall of Famer he's a Hollywood mega star now but if Jacob beats him that puts him over huge

Another couple of solid shows here on the road to Summerslam. I'm intrigued to see who else is getting cut from the roster. I assume it will be post Summerslam. Moss probably should have been on the cut list lol.

Loving your work man, only shocking name on the release list to me would be Killian Dain..........I just think WWE in general could have done more with him. I am sure you had your reasons, I second Stojy, in that I am interested to see who else winds up on the chopping block, I never really saw much in Riddick Moss either.
