Post-Mania News & Notes
The post-mania episode of Monday Night RAW will see several future shaping announcements. Rumors abound that the promised announcements will address the presentation of the company’s weekly episodic television. Word going around backstage is that the company is laser focused on promoting both RAW and Smackdown as completely separate entities going forward. In regard to the futures of co-branded championships such as the Cruiserweight and Women’s Tag Team Championships is not clear. Switching to the recently crowned double women’s champion Becky Lynch©, she is expected to appear on both brands while maintaining possession of both of her championships.
Brock Lesnar has reportedly concluded his current run with the company which makes sense. Given that he just lost the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35 to Seth Rollins in one-on-one action. While the “Beast Incarnate” has departed the company, his advocate that being Paul Heyman will be sticking around for the foreseeable future. However, it is unclear at this point in time in what capacity he will be used in either onscreen or behind the scenes.
WrestleMania 35 was the last pay per view presented by the company un the chaotic judgment of WWE Chairman Vincent Kennedy McMahon. With it being revealed that he will be stepping back from the day to day running of the company going forward. It is highly speculated that his children Shane and Stephanie will be taking on additional roles as a result.
The likes of Luke Harper, Sasha Banks and the pair of Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson (The Revival). Have all reportedly asked for their releases from the company due to being unhappy with their presentation. All have been denied with the company stating that it would be a loss of epic proportions if they did walk away.
Beth Phoenix returned to the ring at WrestleMania 35 in an unsuccessful attempt to claim the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. She is going to be appearing more often post-mania, with her joining Divas of Doom tag team partner Natalya on Monday Night RAW.
The company has shocked both their sponsors as well as the WWE Universe with this next bit of news. WWE has decided to bring their business deal with the Saudi Arabian government to a rather abrupt conclusion. Due to them not really being successes with the WWE Universe or its other business relationships.
Both Sheamus and Nia Jax have been struck down by the injury bug coming out of WrestleMania 35. With the former reportedly dealing with long term back injuries, with no timeline for his return to the ring. Whereas for the latter she has unfortunately suffered not one but two injuries in regard to her ACL’s given the severity of the injuries she like Sheamus doesn’t have a timeline for her return.
Finally, the likes of Dean Ambrose, Goldust and Lars Sullivan have all departed from the company. Unlike the other requested releases these have come about as each of the above’s current deals have reached their end. While effort was made to keep the likes of Ambrose and Goldust the two sides ultimately failed to come to terms with a new deal. This cannot be said for the third man of the trio that being Sullivan, while his deal did expire there was no attempt to retain him as a WWE Superstar. Due to a combination of backstage behavioural antics as well as personal problems.
