WWE Raw
April 7th - 2014

The show opens to a deafening roar, with a cold open.

“YES! YES! YES!”

Daniel Bryan walks out, both titles over his shoulders, visibly emotional. He pauses on the stage, soaking it in, before making his way to the ring as the crowd continues chanting in unison.

Bryan grabs a mic, pacing slightly, overwhelmed.

Daniel Bryan:
“Last night… was supposed to be impossible.”

Crowd chants “YES!”

“They told me I wasn’t the guy. That I wasn’t big enough… strong enough… marketable enough…”

Bryan shakes his head.

“But you never stopped believing. And because of that…”

Raises the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

“We changed the WWE… forever.”

Huge reaction.

“I am not standing here alone. This—this belongs to all of us!”

Crowd explodes.

Suddenly…

“Ladies and gentlemen…”

Boos erupt as Paul Heyman walks onto the stage, clapping slowly.

Paul Heyman:
“Congratulations, Daniel Bryan. Truly inspiring… a miracle story for people who enjoy miracles.”

He smirks.

“But last night wasn’t about you.”

Crowd boos loudly.

“It was about my client… Brock Lesnar… conquering The Streak.

Heat intensifies.

“You may have had your moment… but I define history. I shape the future.”

He leans forward.

“And the future… belongs to Paul Heyman Guys.

Crowd buzzes.

“I have signed FOUR new clients… men who will dominate this industry.”

Pause.

“And the first… is your opponent tonight.”

He gestures to the stage.

CHRISTIAN… CAGE!

Christian Cage walks out to a massive reaction. He stands beside Heyman, staring at Bryan.

Paul Heyman:
“Main event. Non-title. Your fairy tale… begins to crumble tonight.”

Bryan nods, fired up, raising the titles as Christian smirks back.

Match #1
Tag Team Match
The Wyatt Family (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan) vs John Cena and Rey Mysterio

The bell rings and the crowd is buzzing as Rey Mysterio starts against Luke Harper. Rey immediately uses his speed advantage—ducking a clothesline, hitting quick leg kicks, and bouncing off the ropes into a springboard crossbody for a quick one-count. Harper pops up unfazed and levels Rey with a massive back elbow, shifting momentum instantly.

Harper drags Rey to the corner and tags in Erick Rowan. Rowan enters and imposes his size, throwing heavy clubbing blows to Rey’s back. He lifts Rey into a bear hug, squeezing the air out of him. Rey fights back with elbows to the head, slips free, and hits a dropkick to Rowan’s knee. Rowan stumbles, but quickly recovers and flattens Rey with a spinning heel kick. Near fall.

Rowan keeps Rey grounded and tags Harper back in. The Wyatts isolate Rey in their corner, cutting the ring in half. Harper lands a brutal big boot, followed by a senton splash for a two-count. The crowd rallies behind Rey as Harper slows things down with a chinlock, grinding him into the mat. Rey starts to fight back—punches, kicks, breaks free—he dives toward his corner— Harper grabs the leg! Rey kicks him off, springboards!

HOT TAG TO JOHN CENA!

Cena explodes into the match, taking Harper down with shoulder tackles. He knocks Rowan off the apron, then hits the spinning side slam on Harper.

“You can’t see me!”

Five Knuckle Shuffle connects! Cena lifts Harper for the Attitude Adjustment— Rowan storms in and breaks it up! Cena drops Harper and goes after Rowan, sending him to the outside. Chaos builds as all four men get involved. Rey flies through the ropes with a suicide dive onto Rowan, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Back in the ring, Rey tags back in. Cena hits an AA on Harper—but rolls to the outside with Rowan before Rey can capitalize! Rey sets up, measuring Harper—

619 connects!

The crowd erupts as Rey climbs to the top rope. Rey steadies himself on the top rope—

The lights flicker.

A hush falls over the arena.

Bray Wyatt appears in his signature stance on the stage, lantern in hand, laughing eerily.

Rey is distracted, looking toward the stage— He leaps— Harper catches him mid-air—

DISCUS CLOTHESLINE!

Rey is turned inside out. Harper hooks the leg.

1… 2… 3.

Winners – The Wyatt Family – 9:39

Harper and Rowan stand tall in the ring as Bray Wyatt slowly lowers the lantern on the stage, smiling.

On the outside, John Cena stares a hole through Wyatt, frustration building as the Wyatts once again outmaneuver him.

The message is clear—this is far from over.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The camera cuts backstage to the office of Triple H. The room is quiet, dimly lit, with the sound of the arena faint in the background. Triple H stands behind his desk, sleeves rolled up, watching a replay on the monitor—Daniel Bryan celebrating his championship victory from the night before.

Triple H exhales slowly, clearly not pleased.

Suddenly—

BANG!

The office door swings open violently as Batista storms in, followed closely by Randy Orton. Both men are still dressed to compete, visibly furious.*

Batista:
“This is garbage. Absolute garbage!”

Triple H doesn’t turn around immediately.

Randy Orton:
“You’re just going to sit there and watch that like it’s acceptable?”

Triple H slowly turns, calm but stern.

Triple H:
“You two done?”

Batista steps forward, slamming his hands on the desk.

Batista:
“No, I’m not done! I didn’t come back to WWE to get screwed out of the biggest moment of my career. That title should be mine.”

Randy Orton:
“And I was never pinned one-on-one. That makes me the rightful number one contender.”

Triple H leans back slightly, unimpressed.

Triple H:
“You both had your shot… at WrestleMania 30… on the biggest stage there is.”

He steps around the desk, walking slowly toward them.

“And the result?”

He looks at each of them.

“You lost.”

Batista scoffs. Orton clenches his jaw.

Batista:
“That was a fluke. You know it.”

Randy Orton:
“He doesn’t belong at the top.”

Triple H tilts his head slightly, almost amused.

Triple H:
“No… what I know… is that neither of you adapted. And Daniel Bryan did.”

Brief silence. Tension fills the room.

Triple H pauses… then smirks slightly.

“But…”

Batista and Orton glance at each other.

“I’m a fair man. And I believe in opportunity.”

Batista straightens up.

Batista:
“Finally.”

Randy Orton:
“About time.”

Triple H:
“I’ve secured you both a championship match… tonight.”

Now both men are fully invested.

Batista:
“Good.”

Randy Orton:
“That’s what we’re talking about.”

Triple H raises a finger, stopping them.

Triple H:
“Oh, don’t get ahead of yourselves.”

He steps closer, lowering his voice slightly.

“Because the championships you’ll be competing for…”

“…are the WWE Tag Team Championships.”

Silence.

Batista’s face drops instantly. Orton blinks, confused.

Batista:
“You’re kidding.”

Randy Orton:
“…You can’t be serious.”

Triple H:
“You two versus The Usos… tonight.”

Batista paces angrily.

Batista:
“I’m not teaming with him.”

Orton turns immediately.

Randy Orton:
“Funny. I was about to say the same thing.”

Triple H lets the tension simmer, then steps between them.

Triple H:
“That right there? That’s your problem.”

He points between them.

“You’re too busy worrying about each other… instead of doing what it takes to stay on top.”

He crosses his arms.

“You want back in the title picture? You want another shot at Daniel Bryan?”

They both look at him, listening.

“Then prove to me… you can work together. Prove you’re still worth the investment.”

Batista shakes his head, frustrated.

Batista:
“This is a waste of time.”

Triple H:
“No… this is an opportunity.”

He leans in slightly.

“Win tonight… become champions… and maybe—maybe—we revisit the conversation about Daniel Bryan.”

Orton considers it. Batista exhales sharply.

Randy Orton:
(to Batista)
“We do this… we win… then we handle Bryan.”

Batista looks at him, still annoyed… but nods slightly.

Batista:
“Fine.”

Triple H smirks, satisfied.

Triple H:
“Good. Then get out there… and don’t embarrass me.”

Batista and Orton turn and walk out, tension still thick between them.

Triple H watches them leave… then glances back at the monitor showing Bryan celebrating.

His smirk fades slightly.

Fade out.

Match #2
Non Title Match
AJ Lee vs Emma

The bell rings and Emma immediately starts dancing, trying to get inside AJ’s head. AJ tilts her head, studying her, before suddenly lunging forward with a sharp forearm that drops Emma to the mat. AJ pounces, mounting Emma with a flurry of strikes, showing a much more aggressive edge than usual.

Emma rolls out of the ring to regroup, clutching her jaw. AJ leans over the ropes, laughing and waving mockingly. Emma re-enters cautiously, but surprises AJ with a quick roll-up!

1…2—kickout!

Emma builds momentum—arm drag, followed by another, then a dropkick that sends AJ into the corner. The crowd gets behind Emma as she hits a running crossbody in the corner. Emma keeps control, pulling AJ into position and briefly locking in the Emma Lock!

AJ panics, crawling desperately—she reaches the ropes and forces the break. Emma pulls her back to the center, but AJ rakes the eyes behind the referee’s view, immediately halting Emma’s momentum. AJ capitalizes, snapping Emma down with a neckbreaker before stalking her prey. Emma tries to get to her feet—

AJ grabs her and spikes her with a quick DDT! AJ wastes no time, grabbing Emma’s arms and trapping her—

BLACK WIDOW!

Emma screams in pain, trying to reach the ropes, but she’s trapped dead center. After a few seconds of struggle—

She taps out!

Winner – AJ Lee – 3:10

AJ refuses to release the hold immediately, cranking back even after the bell rings. The referee tries to intervene—finally, AJ lets go and slowly rises to her feet.

She’s grinning… almost unhinged.

The referee hands her the WWE Divas Championship.

AJ hugs it tightly, skipping around the ring, laughing to herself.

AJ Lee:
(shouting)
“I told you! I beat them all! There’s nobody left!”

She climbs the turnbuckle, holding the title high—

Suddenly… new music hits.

The crowd buzzes in confusion… then curiosity.

AJ stops mid-celebration.

Standing on the stage is PAIGE!!!

The crowd is going nuts as Paige slowly walks out, emotionless, eyes locked on AJ.

AJ’s expression shifts instantly—no more laughter.

Just intensity.

Paige steps onto the apron… then into the ring.

The two women stand face-to-face.

No words.

AJ tilts her head, gripping her title tighter.

Paige doesn’t flinch.

AJ slowly raises the championship between them, holding it high like a challenge.

Paige smirks slightly.

The tension is thick.

Champion vs challenger.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The screen fades to black.

A low, distorted version of “Break the Walls Down” begins to play softly in the background.

Music builds louder.

“I’ve been watching…”

Match #3
Non Title Match
Jack Swagger vs Big E

The bell rings and Swagger immediately circles, looking for an opening. Big E stands his ground, confident. Swagger shoots in for a takedown, but Big E powers him up and shoves him across the ring.

Swagger regroups with Zeb Coulter barking instructions from ringside. They lock up again—Swagger slips behind into a waistlock, but Big E counters with a powerful hip toss that sends Swagger rolling. Swagger shifts strategy, targeting the leg. He lands a chop block to Big E’s knee, dropping the champion to one leg. Swagger follows up with stomps and wraps the leg around the ring post, drawing boos.

Back inside, Swagger locks in a kneebar, wrenching back hard. Big E grimaces, trying to power out as the crowd rallies behind him. Big E begins to fight back, using his strength to drag Swagger off the mat. He breaks free with a kick to the midsection, then explodes with a series of belly-to-belly suplexes—one after another!

The crowd comes alive as Big E fires up. He charges and hits the running splash on the apron, knocking Swagger to the floor before rolling him back in. Big E sets for the finish, but Swagger counters, grabbing the leg again and locking in the Patriot Lock!

Big E is trapped center ring! The crowd claps rhythmically as Big E powers through the pain—he turns his body, rolling forward and sending Swagger crashing into the turnbuckle.

Swagger stumbles out, dazed.

Big E wastes no time—

He scoops Swagger up—

BIG ENDING!

1… 2… 3!

Winner – Big E – 6:78

Big E gets to his feet, clutching his knee but holding his championship high.

Zeb Coulter checks on Swagger—

Suddenly—

Cesaro storms down to the ring.

The crowd erupts as Cesaro slides in—

European Uppercut to Big E!

Big E collapses instantly.

Swagger tries to stand—

Another uppercut drops him!

Cesaro grabs Swagger—

NEUTRALIZER!

Swagger is out cold.

Cesaro turns his attention back to Big E, lifting him up—

Second NEUTRALIZER!

The crowd is stunned as Cesaro stands tall over both men.

Cue the music.

Out walks Paul Heyman, clapping with a wide grin.

He enters the ring, standing beside Cesaro.

Paul Heyman:
“Ladies and gentlemen… allow me to introduce to you a man who represents the future of this industry… a man of unparalleled strength, discipline, and dominance…”

He gestures proudly toward Cesaro.

“THE SWISS SUPERMAN…”

Pause.

The newest Paul Heyman Guy… CESARO!

Heyman raises Cesaro’s arm as the crowd reacts loudly—half shocked, half impressed.

Cesaro stands tall over the fallen champion, sending a clear message:

A new force has arrived.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We then cut to a United States Championship graphic on the screen!

Michael Cole:
“Ladies and gentlemen, after the events of WrestleMania 30, it’s clear that Monday Night Raw is entering a new era. And with that… comes new opportunity.”

Crowd cheers.

“One of the most dominant champions in WWE today, Dean Ambrose, will defend his United States Championship at Extreme Rules…”

Mixed reaction.

“…but his challenger will not be handpicked.”

Crowd perks up.

“He will be earned.”

“Starting next week, an 8-Man Tournament will begin—and the winner will go on to face Dean Ambrose for the United States Championship at Extreme Rules!”

Crowd applauds loudly.

The bracket appears on the screen:
Kofi Kingston vs. Ryback
Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler
Bad News Barrett vs. Cody Rhodes
Luke Harper vs. Big Show

“Eight competitors. Four opening matches. And only one man will earn the right to challenge Dean Ambrose.”

He lowers the mic slightly, letting the moment breathe.

“At Extreme Rules… the United States Championship will be on the line against whoever survives this tournament.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Match #4
WWE Tag Team Championship
The Usos © vs Randy Orton and Batista

The bell rings and Jey Uso starts against Randy Orton. Jey comes out fast, using quick strikes and a deep arm drag to keep Orton off balance. Orton immediately slows things down, grounding Jey with a side headlock before tagging in Batista. Batista enters with intensity, shoving Jey down and flexing, but Jey pops back up and fires off a series of right hands. Batista cuts him off with a knee to the midsection and a hard whip into the corner. Early tension shows—Orton tags himself back in, clearly wanting control.

Batista glares.

Orton methodically works Jey, stomping him down and controlling the pace. He taunts Jimmy Uso on the apron before dropping a knee across Jey’s face. Jey fights back with a spinning kick and dives—

HOT TAG TO JIMMY USO!

Jimmy explodes into the match—clotheslines to Orton, a Samoan drop, then knocks Batista off the apron.

Jimmy keeps the pressure on, hitting a running hip attack in the corner. Jey re-enters and the Usos double-team Orton with a double superkick!

Orton tries to fight out but gets caught in a double backbreaker for another two-count. Orton finally creates separation with a backbreaker of his own and crawls— Hot tag to Batista!

Batista storms in—big clotheslines, a spinebuster to Jey, then another to Jimmy! The crowd reacts as Batista calls for the Batista Bomb— Orton tags himself in again! Batista snaps, shoving Orton hard.

Batista:
“What are you doing?!”

Orton fires back verbally. The tension explodes for a moment—

Jey rolls Orton up!

1…2… kickout!

Chaos breaks loose.

Jimmy flies off the top onto Batista on the outside!

Inside the ring, Jey goes for a superkick—Orton ducks!

Jey turns—

The crowd erupts.

Orton crawls to the cover—

1… 2… 3!

Winners – NEW WWE Tag Team Champions – Randy Orton and Batista – 14:33

Orton sits up, breathing heavily, a slight smirk forming. Batista slowly rolls into the ring, staring at Orton.

The referee hands them the tag titles.

They both grab a belt—

Pause.

They lock eyes.

Tension lingers… neither man fully trusting the other.

Finally, Batista nods slightly.

Orton smirks.

They raise the titles—but not together.

Just barely united.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The screen fades to black.

A low, echoing heartbeat begins to play.

…thump… …thump… …thump…

A flicker of static.

A dimly lit hallway appears. The camera slowly pushes forward, but no one is there.

Distorted Voice (whispering):
“You’ve been waiting for me…”

Quick flashes:

Empty arena seats

Voice (firm):
“I am here… to take over.”

The heartbeat suddenly stops.

TEXT ON SCREEN:

They slowly tilt their head—

Cut to black.

Match #5
Non Title Match
Daniel Bryan vs Christian Cage

The bell rings and the crowd is electric. Bryan and Christian circle before locking up in a classic collar-and-elbow tie-up. Christian takes early control with a side headlock, but Bryan quickly counters into a hammerlock, transitioning seamlessly into a wristlock.

The two exchange holds in a technical showcase—reversals, counters, and escapes—neither man able to gain a clear advantage. The crowd applauds the chain wrestling. Bryan lands the first major strike—a stiff European uppercut—followed by a series of YES kicks to the chest. Christian bails to the outside to regroup. Back inside, Christian shifts the pace, targeting Bryan’s arm. He slams it against the turnbuckle and locks in a grounded armbar, trying to neutralize Bryan’s striking ability.

Bryan fights back with kicks to the midsection, breaking free, and hits a running dropkick in the corner. He follows with a top-rope hurricanrana for a near fall. Christian responds with a pendulum kick and a reverse DDT.

1…2… kickout!

Momentum swings back and forth as both men push the pace. Bryan ramps up the intensity—flying clothesline, kip-up, and the crowd erupts as he signals for the YES kicks again. Kick after kick lands—Christian catches the final one and spins Bryan into a sit-out powerbomb! Christian goes for the Killswitch—Bryan counters into a backslide

1…2…!

They scramble up—Bryan hits a German suplex! Both men are down as the crowd chants “THIS IS AWESOME!” Bryan climbs to the top rope!

DIVING HEADBUTT CONNECTS!

1…2… Christian kicks out!

Bryan immediately transitions—

YES LOCK APPLIED!

Christian struggles, clawing toward the ropes, inches away—

He almost gets there—

Suddenly—

Cesaro slides into the ring and attacks Bryan!

Winner – No Contest – 21:37

Cesaro unloads with brutal uppercuts, dropping Bryan repeatedly.

The crowd boos heavily—

Dolph Ziggler’s music hits!

Ziggler sprints to the ring!

He slides in—

Superkick to Cesaro?!

The crowd pops—

Ziggler turns…

…and SUPERKICKS BRYAN!

Massive boos.

Ziggler joins Cesaro, stomping Bryan down.

Christian re-enters the ring, and the three men viciously assault Bryan.

SIERRA. HOTEL. INDIA. ECHO. LIMA. DELTA.

Before anyone can react—

CRACK!
Chair shot to Rollins!

CRACK!
Ambrose goes down!

CRACK!
Reigns is dropped!

Bryan turns—

CRACK!
Bryan collapses!

The arena is in shock.

Cesaro, Ziggler, and Christian rush back into the ring, joining the attack. The four men stomp down Bryan and The Shield.

Then—

Paul Heyman walks down to the ring, smiling ear to ear.

He enters… and stands beside the masked man.

They shake hands.

The crowd buzzes.

Slowly… the masked man removes the black hood… then the mask…

IT’S AJ Styles!!!

THE PHENOMINAL ONE IS HERE!!

The crowd ERUPTS in shock—huge cheers—

…but as he stands beside Heyman…

…those cheers turn into loud boos.

Heyman stands proudly with his four new Paul Heyman Guys:
AJ Styles
Christian Cage

Dolph Ziggler

They stand tall over Daniel Bryan and The Shield, completely dominating the ring.

Heyman smirks as AJ Styles stands front and center.

Michael Cole:

I don’t know why, but when HHH said that Batista and Orton would get a Tag Title shot, I started laughing.

I actually don't mind the Batista/Orton pairing. I think it creates intrigue as to exactly what H will do with them now they managed to put their differences aside and become tag champs. Not sure I'm big on Heyman signing all of these guys at once. Obviously he's still got Brock, but Ziggler and Cesaro completely get overshadowed here, as opposed to helped. And even the return of Christian and the debut of AJ happening on the same show feels like to much, especially with people most likely forgetting Christian for the sake of AJ.

Oh and now we've got Jericho coming in next week to? A STACKED roster to say the least. You've managed to post a show a couple of times now, and whilst I don't agree with all the decisions, I do think there is potential here. Would love to see a second, third, fourth show from you to build on this now. Best of luck.
