A special graphic aired to open the show, paying tribute to the recently deceased, UMAGA.

1780003989017.png

Once the graphic fades away, we continue with our unusual cold opening. We cut inside WWE Headquarters, where sitting inside an office, wearing a power suit like only she can, is STEPHANIE MCMAHON. Steph is all business tonight, taking a moment to clear her throat, before speaking.

Stephanie McMahon: Last week, we saw a heinous act by Mike Knox when he viciously attacked Raw’s General Manager Mike Adamle. Due to injuries sustained during the attack, Mike Adamle is unable to take the helm of Raw this week. I want to implore people not to panic in the absence of a GM and to behave as you would at any other time.

There’s a stern tone in her voice, and a warning look in her eyes. She’s trying to keep the Raw roster in check tonight.

Stephanie McMahon: The show will go on, and things will roll along as always. We’ve got a stacked show planned for everybody including a main event that I can now announce which will see Cody Rhodes versus Shawn Michaels!!!

With her trademark smirk on full display after the match announcement, the pre-taped segment comes to an end, as Raw transitions to its usual opening…

WWE Monday Night Raw
December 7th, 2009
Dallas, Texas

Our first scene of the show proper picks once the show returns from commercials after the first match. Dressed in his wrestling gear, a furrow in his brow, TRIPLE H has his ear to his cell phone. He listens intently, not looking overly pleased, before finally responding.

Triple H: Listen, Steph, I get it. I really do. I’ll try and keep order, but when I put these tights on, I’m one of the boys. Nobody here listens to me besides Shawn.

We can assume the conversation continues, but that’s all we hear. Hunter continues to pace around his locker room, as the scene cuts away…

We’re now at the interview set where the fabulous KELLY KELLY is standing by.

Kelly Kelly: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time… He is the WWE Intercontinental Champion… CM PUNK!!!

The crowd inside the arena pops big, as the WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION CM PUNK appears in shot. Despite Kelly’s smiles, there’s no polite or courteous nod from Punk tonight, he looks in the zone.

Kelly Kelly: Thank you for your time, Punk. Your schedule as champion has been gruelling, you’ve racked up defence after defence, but I can’t help but think this one tonight against Mr. Kennedy might be different. It’s a little more emotional charged, what are your thoughts?

Punk nods in agreement, still looking deadly serious.

CM Punk: I take pride in my schedule because with Randy Orton being the WWE Champion, we needed at least one fighting champion on this show. And barring three weeks, which were a red herring of sorts, I’ve been Intercontinental Champion for the last seven months. It has been a hell of a ride and I’m not ready for it to be over. As for Kennedy, the time for talking is over. He will finally get what’s coming to him tonight.

On that note, Punk leaves, as Kelly sends us back to ringside for the next match…

After the next match, we see JOHN MORRISON standing by a production crate in the back, dresses for action.

John Morrison: I’ve got the opportunity of a lifetime to qualify as number thirty for the Royal Rumble this Sunday at Armageddon. Before we get there, I’ve got Triple H and Vladimir Koslov in a Triple Threat tonight. People think nobody can beat Koslov, but I’ve made a career out of proving people wrong. Nobody thought I could make it as a singles wrestler, hell, only a few months ago, nobody thought I could beat Randy Orton at Summerslam and become WWE Champion. I proved everyone wrong there and I will again tonight.

Morrison continues to show intensity, staring deeply into the camera until the show heads to a break…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Returning from the break, we get a video package…

WWE ARMAGEDDON

DECEMBER 13TH, 2009
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

AT&T CENTRE

***

We’re just about to kick off our WWE Intercontinental Championship match, but before we do, MICHAEL COLE and JERRY ‘THE KING’ LAWLER have an announcement at ringside. The main event of the Umaga Tribute show this Friday night on Smackdown is now official. It will be a match between Umaga’s greatest rival this year, Smackdown’s Chris Hero and Umaga’s all time greatest rival, Raw’s John Cena…

Match Three
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
CM Punk (c) defends against Mr. Kennedy

Despite the clear hatred between these two for months now, both men remain calm and composed, until the referee calls for the bell. Once the match officially starts, Punk throws caution to the wind, simply running at Kennedy and mauling him. Punk goes to town with elbows and kicks, targeting body and head, before unleashing some hard chops, reddening the chest of Kennedy.

All Kennedy can do is cover up, completely overwhelmed and attempting to weather the storm. With Kennedy shelling up defensively, Punk pulls out some European Uppercuts, doing more damage to his challenger. Kennedy backs into the corner, where Punk continues to land right hands, until Kennedy slumps into a seated position. The IC Champ doesn’t relent, continuing with stomps to the chest, followed by vicious, repeated stomps to the head and face.

Much to the dismay of the crowd, the referee has no choice but to pull Punk away from Kennedy. The referee threatens a disqualification but the fired up Punk doesn’t engage, instead manoeuvring around the ref. Punk approaches Kennedy again, who is trying to get to his feet, and Kennedy sneaks a thumb to the eye from nowhere! It’s not a respectable move but it’s effective, with Punk forced to blindly rub at his eyes.

Eyes filled with fury, now it’s Kennedy’s turn to lay in the offense, going to town with heaps of punches and a ton of clubbing forearms. Punk doesn’t have an answer for it, just staggering across the ring, until Kennedy throws Punk through the middle ropes and to the outside. Ignoring the referee, Kennedy heads outside after Punk, picking him up, landing a few more punches… AND THEN KENNEDY WHIPS PUNK SHOULDER FIRST INTO THE STEEL RING STEPS!!!

As Punk remains down on the floor after the collision, Kennedy rolls back in and then back outside the ring. This breaks the referee’s count and allows Kennedy to slowly bring Punk up outside the ring, and hook him up… KENNEDY SUPLEXES PUNK ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR!!!

The fans groan as Punk yelps upon impact. There are protective mats there, but they are extremely thin. After landing quite the big move, Kennedy urgently brings Punk up and rolls him back inside the ring. Kennedy follows Punk back inside… KENNEDY HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! PUNK GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

There’s no loss of focus from Kennedy despite the near fall; he knows what is at stake tonight. Instead, Kennedy continues to dominate, wearing Punk down before applying a Reverse Chinlock! Kennedy has it expertly applied, and Punk starts to fade but then fires up, working his way back to his feet. After landing a few elbows to Kennedy’s gut, Punk shoves Kennedy off of him, sending Kennedy bumping face first into the top turnbuckle.

Kennedy continues to lean against the corner, facing outside the ring, when Punk runs at him… CORNER KNEE STRIKE TO THE BACK OF KENNEDY’S HEAD!!!

Kennedy stumbles out of the corner now, leaning against the ropes to keep his footing. Punk notices this and sprints in Kennedy’s direction again… PUNK CLOTHESLINES HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Starting to get beaten up a little, Kennedy takes a few moments to push himself to his feet. Once he’s up, inside the ring, Punk bounces off the ropes, building some momentum… TOPE SUICIDA TAKES OUT KENNEDY!!!

As usual, the risky, exciting move gets a big pop from the fans. Punk gets up, acknowledging them, getting fired up. Feeling the emotion from the crowd, and being firmly in control, Punk plays to the fans as we cut to a break.

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

When we return from the break, the battle rages on. Punk bounces off the ropes, building up a head of steam… BUT KENNEDY CATCHES HIM AND HOT SHOTS HIM ONTO THE TOP ROPE!!!

Punk crashes down to the canvas, coughing, as he grabs at his throat. The IC Champ is clearly struggling to catch his breath, and with a devious grin, Kennedy goes on the attack. KK has his heat period now, working over Punk, focusing on the head and neck area. Not only were these the areas impacted by the Hot Shot, but these are also the body parts that the Mic Check will impact.

Of course, Kennedy isn’t afraid to cheat either to further inflict damage on Punk. The referee starts to catch on, but then a frustrated Kennedy signals to the back, and TED DIBIASE struts down to ringside. The fans don’t like it, reacting negatively, and with good reason, as DiBiase cheap shots Punk a few times. When he’s not throwing blows, he’s distracting the referee so Kennedy can continue to bend the rules.

It’s a brutal match for Punk until eventually, Kennedy sends him crashing into the corner. KK follows in after Punk, picking up speed… CORNER CLOTHESLINE!!!

NO!!! PUNK SIDESTEPS IT!!!

Kennedy crashes into the corner and then Punk immediately grabs him in a headlock… BULLDOG OUT OF THE CORNER!!!

The fans start cheering loudly, as this could be the turning point, both men remaining down. DiBiase is one of the only people in the building encouraging Kennedy, as both men slowly struggle to their feet. Once they are up, they meet in the centre of the ring, where Punk is faster, starting to land his deadly body kicks to rock KK. The kicks cause Kennedy to back into the corner, grabbing at his ribs. Punk takes a few steps back and then runs at Kennedy… CORNER KNEE!!!

NO!!! KENNEDY CATCHES THE KNEE…

AND TURNS IT INTO A MODIFIED BACK BODY DROP OVER THE TOP ROPE!!!

BUT PUNK HOLDS ONTO THE TOP ROPE…

LANDING ON HIS FEET ON THE APRON!!!

PUNK IMMEDIATELY NAILS KENNEDY WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE HEAD!!!

Kennedy staggers out of the corner, somehow remaining on his feet… UNTIL A SPRINGBOARD FLYING CLOTHESLINE FINALLY TAKES HIM DOWN!!!

PUNK HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! KENNEDY GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

Not resting on his laurels, Punk wipes the sweat from his head, exhausted, but he remains on task. The champion hoists Kennedy to his feet, and then lifts him onto his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

NO!!! KENNEDY RAKES THE EYES…

ALLOWING HIM TO WRIGGLE DOWN PUNK’S BACK…

KENNEDY GETS A SCHOOL BOY PIN…

GRABBING THE TIGHTS IN THE PROCESS…1…2…NO!!! PUNK JUST ESCAPES!!!

After the flash pin, both men bounce to their feet… KENNEDY CATCHES PUNK WITH A SPINEBUSTER!!!

KENNEDY WITH THE PIN…1…2…NO!!! PUNK JUST ROLLS A SHOULDER OFF THE CANVAS!!!

Full of arrogance as he gets back to his feet, Kennedy dusts his hands together, signalling to the fans that this is about to be over. Kennedy pulls Punk to his feet… MIC CHECK!!!

NO!!! PUNK SNATCHES AN INSIDE CRADLE…1…2…NO!!! THIS TIME KENNEDY JUST ESCAPES THE FLASH PIN!!!

Again, both men scramble to their feet… WHERE PUNK MEETS KENNEDY WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE TEMPLE!!!

Kennedy drops like he has been shot, but Punk isn’t finished. He drags Kennedy back up, lifting him up on his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

NO!!! DIBIASE STEPS ONTO THE APRON!!!

Seeing this, Punk drops Kennedy off of him, instead noticing DiBiase. Punk heads over to the apron, and DiBiase is busy distracting the referee, meaning Punk grabs DiBiase, dragging him over the top rope and onto his shoulders… PUNK NAILS DIBIASE WITH THE GO TO SLEEP!!!

DiBiase is only semi-conscious now, the fans cheering loudly. His fallen body is in the way, so the referee gets on his knees, slowly rolling DiBiase underneath the bottom rope. As this is happening, Punk turns his attention back to Kennedy… KENNEDY CREAMS PUNK WITH A BRASS KNUCKLES COVERED RIGHT HAND!!!

It’s all behind the referee’s back. Punk drops to the canvas, he probably is unconscious. Kennedy quickly shoves the knuckles back into his tights. The referee turns around after discarding DiBiase, not suspecting a thing… AND KENNEDY HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Mr. Kennedy @ 16:40

WE HAVE A NEW WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION!!! There’s a stunned silence initially, as an elated Kennedy gets back to his feet. After a few moments, the referee is back in the ring with the title, and Kennedy rudely yanks the title from the referee’s hands. As Kennedy begins to celebrate, the result sinks in for the fans, and they give a MASSIVE amount of heat for the injustice here tonight.

Kennedy doesn’t care though. With Punk still being unconscious, Kennedy is able to enjoy his moment. He then rolls to the outside, assists DiBiase in getting to his feet, and then the dastardly duo heads up the ramp…

The show now cuts to inside a locker room, where SHAWN MICHAELS stands, having just performed some stretching ahead of the main event later tonight.

Shawn Michaels: I’ve had a lot on my mind lately. Questioning my return, whether I did it for the right reasons, but all that went away the moment Mike Adamle announced the match or this Sunday at Armageddon. Ya’ see, in a Steel Cage, you’re all alone which means nobody can help Orton.

There’s a glint in Shawn’s eyes at the thought of having uninterrupted access to the WWE Champion.

Shawn Michaels: I can’t wait to roll into my hometown of San Antonio, Texas this weekend and take care of business. Last week proved that I can hit Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere. The match could be fast, and I could hit it one minute in, or the match could be gruelling, and I could hit it twenty minutes in. Hell, it could be more then that, but here’s one thing I know for sure. When I hit it, I will be the WWE Champion and for Randy Orton, it’s all over but the crying.

Michaels sounds like he’s ready for his WWE Title shot this Sunday, as he goes back to preparing for tonight’s main event…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Returning from the break, a still dazed and staggering yet infuriated CM PUNK roughly grabs a camera man, telling him to get him on the air.

CM Punk: Things between me and Kennedy aren’t ending like that. I don’t give a shit who makes the decisions with Adamle gone, here’s what’s going to happen. At Armageddon this Sunday, I’m using my rematch clause on Kennedy. No questions asked, that’s it.

Still disgusted in how things went down tonight, Punk simply shakes his head, before walking away from the most likely petrified camera man…

After defeating John Morrison and Triple H in a Triple Threat Match in seven minutes, VLADIMIR KOSLOV celebrates. Or he less celebrates and more just stands tall in the centre of the ring. Our cameras then cut backstage to show BATISTA and REY MYSTERIO sitting together, watching the imposing Koslov on a monitor. In a different area in the back, we see JOHN CENA doing the same thing, watching intensely.

Finally, we cut to another backstage area where CHRIS JERICHO is keeping an eye on Koslov. As Jericho watches, WWE CHAMPION RANDY ORTON walks passed and pats Jericho on the back. The backstage vision then disappears, and we get another shot of Koslov standing tall as the show heads to commercials.

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

The show returns with a video package…

At ringside, on commentary, MICHAEL COLE and JERRY ‘THE KING’ LAWLER expand on the announced Smackdown Spectacular. They hype the three versus three versus tag match between all the brands. According to Cole, negotiations for the match were going on before Adamle was injured. Work was being done behind the scenes, and the team Adamle has assembled is truly extraordinary, but unfortunately for the GM, he never got a chance to announce it.

They have the pleasure of announcing the team now though, as Adamle has been in contact with the board. The Raw GM’s chosen team to lead Raw to victory consists of CM Punk, John Cena, and shockingly, their third, Vladimir Koslov!!!...

After a segment in which we’re not featuring in this BTB, we get a split screen. On one side of the screen, it shows CODY RHODES walking in a hallway, with RANDY ORTON only a step behind. It can only be assumed they are heading towards the gorilla position, whilst on the other screen, similarly SHAWN MICHAELS is making his way towards the entrance. IT’S CODY VS. MICHAELS NEXT!!!

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Before the main event, we have one final video package…

Match Five

Cody Rhodes w/Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels

Michaels is cagey as the bell rings, circling the ring but ensuring Orton is behaving himself at ringside before engaging Cody. They surprisingly start with some old school grappling, taking things down to the mat to see who the better amateur wrestler was. Things are relatively even on the mat, but once they get back to their feet, Cody wrings Michaels’ arm and looks to apply a Hammer Lock and a standing Key Lock!

Continuing to try and jostle for position, Michaels doesn’t accept his left arm in peril. Instead, he steps to the side, allowing himself the right angle to land stinging chops to Cody’s chest. He follows up with a few right hands, showing Cody he can still do damage with his free arm. Eventually, Cody is forced to release grip to block some of Shawn’s strikes, but then Michaels cleverly locks in a Side Headlock instead.

Michaels keeps the hold on tight, with Cody trying to push him off, and also trying to pro Shawn’s grip apart to no success. As Michaels keeps readjusting to apply further pressure, Cody ends up simply backing Michaels into the corner. Because they end up in the corner amongst the ropes, the referee calls for a break. Michaels releases his Side Headlock, but Cody pounces with a cheap knee to the gut, not adhering to a clean break.

Cody is able to take over the match with all the air driven out of his opponent. Cody focuses in on the head and neck area of Michaels, which the commentary team immediately links to the Cross Rhodes. Michaels shows his resilience though, not staying down for to long, and fighting back with a mix of punches and chops. Shawn’s right hands stagger Cody, and he ends up leaning against the ropes to keep his footing.

Seeing this, Michaels runs towards Cody… CLOTHESLINE OVER THE TOP ROPE!!!

NO!!! CODY DROPS DOWN AND LOW BRIDGES MICHAELS, SENDING HIM TUMBLING OVER THE TOP AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

The referee doesn’t want Cody to follow Michaels to the outside. Cody half heartedly attempts to get around the referee, which is enough to distract the ref. With the referee distracted, Orton picks up Shawn on the outside… ORTON WHIPS SHAWN SHOULDER FIRST INTO THE RING STEPS!!!

Before the referee can turn around, Orton heads back to the opposite side of ringside. Despite the fans giving major heat, the ref doesn’t notice anything. With Cody in the ring, and Michaels in trouble on the outside, we cut to our final break of the evening…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

When we return from the break, not much has changes since prior. The impressive, youngster Cody is still in control of Michaels, continuing his targeted attack on the head and neck area. After softening up Michaels more but not being able to put him away, at the instruction of Orton on the outside… CODY APPLIED THE ORTONLOCK!!!

Cody put as much pressure as possible into the hold, really squeezing. As this is happening, Orton is barking instructions on the outside, “SPIN AROUND WITH IT, YOU’LL GET MORE LEVERAGE ON THE OTHER SIDE”! Cody does what he’s told, but again, he’s unable to put Shawn away. Eventually Michaels works to his feet, and he’s able to break free after landing some elbows to Cody’s gut.

Once free, Shawn tees off with right hands, when out of desperation, Cody grabs Michaels and whips him into the ropes… MICHAELS COMES BACK WITH THE FLYING FOREARM!!!

Both men remain down, Orton slapping the canvas, demanding Cody get to his feet. Neither man really moves… AND THEN SHAWN KIPS UP!!!

The fans explode with a big pop, as Michaels starts to feel it. He brings Cody up and just peppers him with right hands, pinballing the youngster around the ring. Sensing trouble, ORTON GETS ONTO THE APRON TO CAUSE A DISTRACTION!!!

BUT SHAWN IS QUICK TO KNOCK ORTON OFF THE APRON WITH A RIGHT HAND!!!

The momentary distraction was enough though, as Michaels turns back to Cody. Cody meets him with a kick to the stomach… FOLLOWED BY A BIG DDT!!!

CODY HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! SHAWN KICKS OUT!!!

Knowing he can’t waste anytime here, Cody doesn’t get frustrated. Instead, he drags Shawn right back up and gets him in position for the next big move… DEAD END RHODES!!!

NO!!! SHAWN FLIPS OUT, LANDING BEHIND CODY!!!

Cody has his head on a swivel, quickly turning… RIGHT INTO SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

SHAWN GETS THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Shawn Michaels @ 12:53

The fans are happy, as Michaels is victorious just like last week. Full of confidence, Michaels jives a little like it’s the 90’s, celebrating his hard fought victory. On the outside of the ring, a furious Randy Orton gestures towards the back, imploring for somebody to come to ringside. After doing this, Orton slithers into the ring… AND THE WWE CHAMPION ATTACKS MICHAELS FROM BEHIND!!!

The celebration is over for Michaels, as Orton goes on the attack. Heat fills the arena and it only gets worse as CHRIS JERICHO, MR. KENNEDY and TED DIBIASE run down to join Orton. It’s a four on one now, with Michaels in serious trouble…

UNTIL REY MYSTERIO SLIDES INTO THE RING!!!

Rey Rey immediately attacks Jericho, hammering away at him with right hands. Jericho falls to the canvas and Mysterio bends over to pick him up… ONLY FOR KENNEDY TO DROP MYSTERIO WITH A KNEE LIFT!!!

With a devious smirk, Jericho and Kennedy pick up the mask man and they throw him outside of the ring. The beatdown continues on Michaels, until the fans chirp up yet again…

BECAUSE BATISTA AND JOHN MORRISON ENTER THE RING TOGETHER!!!

The unsuspecting DiBiase is the first to turn towards them due to the crowd noise… BATISTA RUNS THROUGH DIBIASE WITH A SPEAR!!!

MORRISON RUNS AT JERICHO… TACKLING HIM… AND THE TWO MEN SPILL THROUGH THE MIDDLE ROPES AND TO THE OUTSIDE…

AS A RECOVERED CODY SNEAKS FROM BEHIND AND GETS A LOW BLOW ON BATISTA!!!

‘The Animal’ drops to his knees in pain, eyes wide, and it looks like things might only get worse…

WITH VLADIMIR KOSLOV NOW STORMING DOWN THE RAMP!!!

Koslov steps into the ring but before he can lay a hand on anybody… KOSLOV IS CLOBBERED FROM BEHIND…

BY TRIPLE H!!!

Triple H is out to help his DX buddy, and he and Koslov start brawling in the ring. There is chaos inside the ring, but also outside where Morrison and Jericho continue to brawl… UNTIL KENNEDY KICKS MORRISON IN THE NUTS FROM BEHIND!!!

Morrison drops to the floor now, but before Jericho can capitalize, he’s thrown out of the way… AND KENNEDY IS TACKLED TO THE FLOOR…

BY CM PUNK!!!

Punk mounts Kennedy and just punches away at him, really releasing some of his frustration after being screwed out of the IC Title earlier. The fans only get even more excited too, AS JOHN CENA JOINS THE FRAY!!!

Cena slides into the ring, only for Orton to IMMEDIATELY bail to the outside. The cowardice from Orton gets boos from the fans, as Jericho decides to attack Cena in the ring. The two men exchange right hands, and Cena gets the advantage, before simply throwing Jericho outside the ring. On the outside, Cody drags Punk off of Kennedy, and instead of continuing to fight, Kennedy climbs the barricade and looks to escape through the crowd.

Punk manages to shrug Cody off, drilling him with a hard kick, and then Punk enters the crowd, going after Kennedy. Back inside of the ring, Cena has backed DiBiase against the ropes… CENA CLOTHESLINES DIBIASE OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Suddenly, it’s pandemonium. The noise is deafening as Koslov has gotten rid of Triple H, and now CENA AND KOSLOV GO NOSE TO NOSE!!! This has been building for awhile now, and the two explode, trading haymakers… UNTIL THEY GET IN A MODIFIED TACKLE… BOTH MEN TUMBLING TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

They don’t stop though, continuing to brawl on the outside. With things really getting out of control now, a bucket load of referees and WWE officials run down to try and control the fight. Our cameras now quickly cut to in the audience, where Punk is trying to catch Kennedy… WHEN PUNK GETS ATTACKED OUT OF NOWHERE…

FROM
MIKE KNOX!!!

This allows Kennedy to keep running away, disappearing from sight completely. Knox and Punk are now engaged in a heated brawl, fighting back down through the crowd and to the ringside area. With Cena distracted, Orton sneakily slides back into the ring, perfect timing to see Triple H working to his feet after being dropped by Koslov… RKO TO TRIPLE H!!!

Cena and Koslov haven’t stopped brawling, despite the best effort from so many people to stop it. They’ve started to move up the ramp now, whilst at ringside, Knox and Punk trade blows in front of the announce table… UNTIL KNOX THROUGH PUNK ONTO THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!!!

Punk’s flailing body takes out Cole and Lawler, basically ending any commentary for the night. More security comes from the back now, and agents like Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko, Pat Patterson, Tony Garea and Gerald Brisco are out to try and assist. Cena and Koslov are slowly dragged apart, as are Knox and Punk… UNTIL PUNK LEAPS OFF THE ANNOUNCE TABLE, RIGHT BACK ONTO KNOX!!!

Amongst all the chaos, Orton has managed to make it to the timekeeper’s table, where he grabs his WWE Championship. Orton walks around ringside, carefully, looking to leave… BUT CENA SPOTS HIM AND STARTS WALKING TOWARDS ORTON!!! Orton freaks out and backpedals, sliding back into the ring for a reprieve. Cena looks to follow him in… BUT NOW KNOX ATTACKS CENA!!!

The brawl is back on, as Punk breaks free and runs down to join in and attack Knox, so then Koslov gets back involved, attacking Cena and Punk! Outside the ring, carnage continues, these men all showing their hatred for each other prior to Armageddon. Inside the ring, Orton stood alone with the title… BUT THEN TURNED INTO SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

Michaels has recovered and now Orton is out cold. A smirking Michaels picks up the WWE Title, and amongst the carnage, Michaels holds the WWE Championship, perhaps a sign of things to come, as the show fades to black…

This ones a bit of a side quest so thought I'd get it out of the way. 'Mags is arguably my favourite big man of all time, if not just behind Vader. I guess this is my awkward way of paying some respect. At the same time, used this opportunity to get a Cena/Hero match written, which for some reason is an itch I've had since I started this BTB.

Anyway, Armageddon is the next show. I'll eventually post a predictions contest so none yet please. I've probably got a news post that I need to do beforehand.

WWE Smackdown – Umaga Tribute Show
December 11th, 2009
Houston, Texas

It has been an emotional show, everybody paying tribute to their much loved, fallen comrade. Before the main event, we get a pre-taped segment, showing a sombre
JOHN CENA, sitting in a studio chair.

John Cena: Looking back on it, me and Umaga had one of the greatest rivalries of this decade.

Cena pauses for a moment, putting a hand on his chest.

John Cena: My body can still feel some of the things that we went through together. That fire, getting through that together, it builds a bond and it builds respect. Man, we shed blood together and had some epic battles.

He shakes his head, reminiscing on the good times.

John Cena: One thing you could count on with Umaga, it didn’t matter what was going on in his life or how he felt. Every time he got in the ring, he performed. He gave it one hundred percent.

Another pause, Cena’s clearly emotional here.

John Cena: I’ve fought a lot of people in that ring, but Umaga displayed more heart and passion than any of my opponents.

That’s a big compliment.

John Cena: Umaga’s legacy is his family, but from his WWE family, the way the man conducted himself, we can all learn a lesson from Umaga. As a matter of fact, I challenge all of the WWE Superstars including myself, and everyone at home to live their life with that much heart and passion.

One more pause. This hasn’t been easy for Cena.

John Cena: I respected and loved Umaga and I’ll miss him every day. I said before he always gave it his all, well tonight, on his tribute show, I’ll give my all in his honour…

The segment now fades away, and Chris Hero gets the chance to cut a similar promo, but I won’t be writing that one…

Before the main event starts, our Smackdown commentary team talk about how this match will act as a preview for the tri brand three versus three versus three match on next week’s Smackdown Spectacular. Cena will be representing Raw, whilst Hero will be representing Smackdown…

Match Five
Chris Hero vs. John Cena

It’s a big first time ever match, but due to the nature of the show, it’s a respectful one as well. Both men share a handshake, donning their black arm bands for Umaga, getting a big ovation from the crowd. The two remain nose to nose though, the tension slowly growing between the two, until Cena busts out the “YOU CAN’T SEE ME”, and HERO QUICKLY RESPONDS WITH A HUGE FOREARM TO CENA’S JAW!!!

The shot catches Cena off guard so Hero keeps going, backing him up by laying into him with more forearm strikes to the head. Dazed and stunned, Cena eventually drops to the canvas, where Hero stomps on him a few times… HERO THEN LANDS A DIVING KNEE TO THE HEAD!!!

HERO WITH THE LATERAL PRESS…1…2…NO!!! CENA KICKS OUT!!!

Cleverly, Hero grabs a hold of Cena’s head and neck, so when Cena tries to hurry to his feet… HERO IMMEDIATELY LOCKS IN A CRAVAT!!!

He uses the Cravat for leverage more than anything, dragging Cena’s head down so he can connect with a few knees to the head. Suddenly, Cena comes to life though, spinning out of the Cravat, breaking Hero’s grip and then teeing off with some big right hands. Cena backs Hero against the ropes now, before whipping him into the opposite ropes, but Hero doesn’t return, instead hanging onto the top rope.

With a smirk, Hero now shoots the “YOU CAN’T SEE ME” right back at Cena. The Raw star shakes his head and runs at Hero… HERO DUCKS HIS HEAD AND BACK BODY DROPS CENA OVER THE TOP ROPE AND OUT TO THE FLOOR!!!

It’s a nasty bump from Cena, and much to the dismay of the referee, Hero rolls out after his opponent. The fans are murmuring, wonder if Cena is okay after he landed with a splat. Hero pays that no attention though, instead helping Cena up… ONLY TO WHIP HIM SHOULDER FIRST INTO THE RING STEPS!!!

The noise is like a car accident, and with Cena in trouble and Hero surprisingly dominant, we cut to our final break of the evening…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

We come back from the break, and Cena remains in a lot of trouble. During the break, Hero has started dissecting Cena’s left knee, and it has taken it’s toll. Now that we are back to live action, Hero drags Cena towards the rope and places Cena’s leg and knee on the bottom rope. Hero jumps up high in the air and lands with all his weight Cena’s bad knee.

Before Cena can do anything except grab his leg in agony, Hero rolls him onto his stomach… HERO LOCKS IN THE HANGMAN’S CLUTCH!!!

Hero cranks the hell out of the hold, really trying to force Cena to submit. To his credit, Cena lets out a shrill scream of pain, but holds on. Staying true to his word, Cena doesn’t submit and instead, he manages to reach the ropes. Much to the delight of the referee, Hero immediately breaks the hold. He then drags Cena towards the centre of the ring, away from the ropes… HERO HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! CENA KICKS OUT AGAIN!!!

Relentless is the best way to describe Hero, because as Cena goes to sit up, HERO GOES RIGHT BACK TO THE CRAVAT!!!

Much like earlier, as they reach their feet, Hero uses the hold to bring Cena’s head down, so he can repeatedly knee Cena in the head. This time Cena can’t escape… AND HERO TAKES HIM DOWN WITH A CRAVAT NECKBREAKER!!!

HERO WITH THE COVER…1…2…NO!!! SHOULDER UP BY CENA THIS TIME!!!

This time as he gets to his feet, after wiping hair from his eyes, Hero opts to give Cena some space. Hero steps away, stalking Cena, and when Cena pushes to his feet… ROLLING YAKUZA KICK FROM HERO!!!

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY A HUGE FOREARM STRIKE TO THE JAW!!!

Cena’s body loses all control and falls to the canvas; he may be unconscious. Hero doesn’t waste any time, HERO WITH THE COVER…1…2…NO!!! CENA JUST GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

The fans pop in shock at the resilience of Cena, and even Hero looks surprised. Again, Hero is primed and ready, waiting for Cena to struggle to his feet and when he does… YAKUZA KICK!!!

NO!!! CENA CATCHES THE LEG…

AND NAILS A BLUE THUNDER DRIVER!!!

After being down for a few moments, an exhausted CENA DRAPES AN ARM OVER HERO’S CHEST…1…2…NO!!! NOW HERO GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

Despite the near fall, there’s no follow up action right away. Instead, both men remain down, feeling the effects of the match so far. Once they do work to their feet, Cena is first up, although his clearly hobbling on his battered left knee. Cena still fights through it, heading towards Hero… HERO TAKES OUT CENA’S BAD KNEE WITH A DROPKICK OUT OF NOWHERE!!!

Cena groans and moans on the canvas again… AND HERO SYNCHS IN THE HANGMAN’S CLUTCH AGAIN!!!

Cena crawls frantically to the ropes as Hero applies as much torque as possible. For the second time of the night in the hold, Cena manages to find his way to the ropes. Cena holds on for dear life, and yet again, Hero respectfully adheres to a clean break. He then helps Cena back to his feet, but Cena shrugs Hero off, and starts hammering away on here with right hands.

With a surge of adrenaline going through his body, Cena is able to pick up some form of pace with his damaged leg. After a few more right hands, Cena bounces off the ropes… DIVING SHOULDERBLOCK!!!

The man who likes to be known as ‘The Champ’ is fired up now, but still takes a moment to adjust the knee pad on his injury. Hero gets back to a seated position, looking to work to his feet. Cena runs at Hero from behind… THROWBACK!!!

Getting back to his feet, Cena raises his arms above his head, meaning he’s thinking of finishing this. He stalks his prey, waiting for Hero to get up, and when he does, Cena props him onto his shoulders… FU!!!

NO!!! CENA CRUMBLES AND DROPS HERO AS HIS KNEE GIVES OUT!!!

This allows Hero to drop down behind Cena. After ignoring his injury and getting back up, Cena turns to face Hero… HERO TWIRLS… ROLLING ELBOW!!!

NO!!! CENA DUCKS IT AND SCOOPS HERO ONTO HIS SHOULDERS…

FU CONNECTS!!!

CENA WITH THE PIN…1…2…NO!!! HERO SOMEHOW GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

The pop is huge from the unsuspecting crowd, and Cena’s mouth is wide open in shock. Cena gets back to his feet, picking up his jaw off the floor, but he seems a little uncertain to what’s next. He takes a moment to confirm with the referee whether he’s certain of the count, and the referee is steadfast on the fact it was only a two count. Gritting his teeth, Cena hobbles back over to Hero, slowly pulling his lifeless body back to his feet.

Once Hero is on his feet, he comes back to life, shrugging Cena off and shoving him away… AND THEN HERO CONNECTS WITH THE ROLLING ELBOW!!!

The blow sends Cena stumbling backwards, and he falls through the ropes and to the outside. The exhaustion kicks in after the desperation move, and whilst Cena’s down on the floor, Hero has collapsed inside of the ring as well. Seeing both men down and not really moving, the referee has no choice but to start their count… 1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…

HERO IS STILL DOWN!!!

CENA HAS STARTED TO STIR AND LOOKS LIKE HE’LL MAKE HIS FEET…

…9…

CENA TRIES TO LUNGE FOR THE RING APRON AND GET BACK INTO THE RING…

BUT HIS KNEE GIVES OUT AND HE FALLS BACK TO THE FLOOR…

10!!!

Can you believe it? It’s a Double Count Out!!!

Draw @ 13:17
The bell rings and whilst normally this type of ending would probably get crapped all over, not today. The fans give a standing ovation for the display, as Cena slowly rolls into the ring, pain etched all over his face. Both physical and emotional. Hero is back up to now, also looking worse for wear. They meet in the centre of the ring, just like at the beginning of the match. They are both almost breaking, clearly distraught, and they share a huge, as the fans continue to cheer them on.

The emotional is clear for all to see as they eventually break the embrace, and Cena gets himself a mic.

John Cena: Being out here, at Umaga’s tribute show, it just makes everything feel more real. I’m going to miss Umaga, so much, and I know everyone else will too.

Big pop from the crowd as Hero nods in agreement.

John Cena: What me and Chris did here tonight was follow the example Umaga set night in and night out. We busted our asses in remembrance of him. We did this to honour Umaga and so did everyone else who competed tonight.

Another respectful round of applause from the fans.

John Cena: Umaga touched every single one of us in one way or another and will live on in our and his families hearts. No one will ever forget him. One more time, let’s give it up and pay some respect to Umaga!

Cheers followed by a deafening “UMAGA” chant hit, as Hero and Cena celebrate their fallen comrade as the show comes to an end…

END OF SHOW

Finally all caught up since my last post on here...and holy shit, you are clicking literally everywhere right now! It truly felt like binge watching a great tv show for me just now as I read through the past couple of shows. Your booking of everything is so chaotic (in a great way) that I really have no idea where things are headed, simply because you keep making sharp turns in different directions that have me saying "holy shit, how come I didn't see that coming?" which is obviously kudos to you for being the goat lol

Some points while they are still fresh in my head:

That Raw ending was INSANE! You know I love to end a show in the same fashion, so once Rey came out, I was hoping for the rest of the cavalry of faces to come out and you did not disappoint. So much fun to read, such a blast to picture that all in my head while reading. Really nicely done.

Ken Kennedy NEEDED to win the IC title after the buildup. I am glad you pulled the trigger on an episode of Raw rather than a PPV, since this feud is now refreshed and should be very exciting seeing Punk chase after the title.

Kozslov looks like an absolute beast right now. And you somehow managed to make me invest in Mike Knox lol Two guys that in a span of a few short weeks you've turned them into legit threats. Loved Knox taking Adamle's head off, too.

One thing I have noticed is your lack of using HHH for anything really meaningful right now. Not sure if that is by design or not. Is he lying in the weeds, waiting to take out HBK at Armageddon for getting the opportunities while he is relegated to cheerleader? So many possibilities with the H man right now that I think you will go, but my track record with predicting this project isn't the best so I'll just shut up and read lol Just something I picked up on while reading.

Not sure where you're going to take Batista, but I like that he is kind of in a holding pattern right now and really needs to do something to outshine the rest of this absolutely loaded roster.

Great touch with the tribute to Umaga. I'm right there with you man, he was one of my favorite wrestlers, period. Glad to see you give Chris Hero a spin, and NOT LOSE to John Cena. Holy shit! I really wonder what is going on with SD when you post these snippets, they are great. The best thing about this project is at any time you can say "yeah, by the way, Chris Hero is about to de-throne JBL for the World title on SD" and make us all wonder the possibilities of you booking SD for real haha

All in all, I'm glad I am caught up. Armageddon should be a blast. Keep doing your thing, you are hitting on literally every segment/storyline right now!

Appreciate the love as always, BT. Just another quick update here from me, although is likely I'll post predictions content shortly as well because I can't stay away...

News And Notes

On this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, CM Punk acknowledged that Raw General Manager Mike Adamle was unavailable due to injury. Based on that, he took initiative and announced that he would be chasing in his WWE Intercontinental Championship rematch against Mr. Kennedy at Armageddon this Sunday. Word has since come from the Stephanie McMahon herself, that the match will take place at Armageddon.

That’s not the only news Stephanie recently delivered. She has confirmed that there will be announcement at Armageddon this Sunday on pay per view regarding the future of Raw’s management. Whilst medium term, it’s expected that Mike Adamle will make a full recovery and return, but a short term solution is required whilst Adamle is in the hospital.

I think it's time HBK finally climbs back up the mountain. I fully expect either Batista ripping the cage door off and kicking Orton's ass, or I could be dead wrong and Orton retains after HHH turns on HBK. Either way, excited to see this play out.

Six Pack Challenge Match;
Winner is #30 in the Royal Rumble, Loser is #1:
Chris Jericho vs. John Cena vs. John Morrison vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Triple H vs. Vladimir Koslov
He is being booked as an absolute monster right now. No reason for him to stop now.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match:
Mr. Kennedy (c) defends against CM Punk
I think Punk gets screwed, puts this feud to bed, and finds his way back to the World title picture just in time for the road to WM...

Bonus Questions
The stipulation on which avenues are available to win in the WWE Championship Steel Cage match are yet to be confirmed. Will the winner score the victory via pinfall, submission or escaping the cage? Pinfall
Who will drop the fall in the Six Pack Challenge and enter the Royal Rumble as the #1 entrant? HHH- You are burying him for a reason right now
Will Batista make an appearance on this show? If so, will he do something minor or “do something impressive”? If answering yes to “do something impressive”, please predict what he will do. Yes, he rips the cage door off and ignites a feud with Randy Orton
What will Stephanie McMahon’s announcement be regarding the management of Raw whilst Mike Adamle is in the hospital? Celebrity GM? This is about to be 2010, we don't do that shit anymore! lol I think she is going to announce a replacement GM, yet I have no idea who it will be. Give us the "anonymous GM" please!

Nothing left to be said other than I fully expect this show to be a fucking banger! Best of luck writing!

WWE Championship - Steel Cage
Randy Orton (c) VS Shawn Michaels

My Prediction:
I think this could go either way, maybe HBK picks up the win, maybe Orton retains, all in all it's going to be one hell of a main event between the two men.

Six Pack Challenge - Winner is #30, Loser is #1
Chris Jericho VS John Cena VS John Morrison VS Rey Mysterio VS Triple H VS Vladimir Kozlov

My Prediction:
I am going to chose either Y2J or Kozlov with the latter begin a direct result of your current booking of him.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Mr Kennedy(c) VS Cm Punk

My Prediction:
I like both theses guys, Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut my gut says Kennedy is retaining.

Bonus Questions

My Predictions:
1.
If Orton retains I am thinking escape via cage door, If Michaels wins I reckon it could be either pinfall or submission.
2. I reckon either Morrison or HHH I just have a feeling that Jericho will be one of the last eliminated.
3. Do I think the Animal makes his presence known? I am kinda hoping he either rips the door off the cage, or somehow enters the fray to attack either man.
4. Finally, I would have to agree with BattleTank, I think we get either a celebrity GM or the Anonymous GM, I defo prefer the second option, I just think a mind like yours could make it damn awesome.

Orton retains here. Would make sense for HBK to move onto a feud with HHH, but don't think that's happening either. Ultimately, probably thinking Orton loses the title to Punk somehow. I don't know, you figure that out lol.

Six Pack Challenge Match;
Winner is #30 in the Royal Rumble, Loser is #1:

Chris Jericho vs. John Cena vs. John Morrison vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Triple H vs. Vladimir Koslov
For reasons already mentioned. Kozlov's getting the monster push, so he continues to get that push.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match:
Mr. Kennedy (c)
defends against CM Punk
Punk moves on from the IC title scene and moves into the WWE title scene. Simple as that.

Morrison's going to take the fall and enter at #1 and ALMOST win the Rumble
Will Batista make an appearance on this show? If so, will he do something minor or “do something impressive”? If answering yes to “do something impressive”, please predict what he will do. Going with no, he won't make an appearance lol
What will Stephanie McMahon’s announcement be regarding the management of Raw whilst Mike Adamle is in the hospital? Your news post did say Adamle's going to be back, so I guess someone in the short term is taking over. Perhaps a superstar rather than an authority figure

I think Batista either costs HBK, HHH or Punk. Hedging my bets on him costing HBK as he has been very heelish and this makes more sense to me out of the 3

Six Pack Challenge Match;
Winner is #30 in the Royal Rumble, Loser is #1:

Chris Jericho vs. John Cena vs. John Morrison vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Triple H vs. Vladimir Koslov
Vladmir at number 30 feels like a lock to tease him winning

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match:
Mr. Kennedy (c)
defends against CM Punk
Punk gets screwed here and goes on to win the rumble

Bonus Questions

The stipulation on which avenues are available to win in the WWE Championship Steel Cage match are yet to be confirmed. Will the winner score the victory via pinfall, submission or escaping the cage? Escaping the cage
Who will drop the fall in the Six Pack Challenge and enter the Royal Rumble as the #1 entrant? John Cena
Will Batista make an appearance on this show? If so, will he do something minor or “do something impressive”? If answering yes to “do something impressive”, please predict what he will do. Cost HBK the World title
What will Stephanie McMahon’s announcement be regarding the management of Raw whilst Mike Adamle is in the hospital? An interim general manager. Maybe Stone Cold?
