Extreme Rules in April- Lame, I see why they're doing it but the whole Extreme Rules concept is kind of a cop out. Backlash was just fine and usually has as good if not better match quality than Wrestlemania.
I could maybe get behind an extreme rules ppv if they still had a hardcore title. Rig the story lines where only extreme action can be taken to settle things down. But the company doesn't HAVE anything even approaching that level, and their most "Extreme" wrestler hopped ship.
Wild Card in May- Sounds cool but who knows how they'll screw this up.
I take Wild Card to mean "We got no fucking clue" and that this is one of those PPVS they are going to play by ear. Sure the name sounds cool, but I think it is more geared to blow smoke in our direction while they scrape for anything they can get. Because looking deeper into the name, it doesn't promise shit. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if its main theme is a whole PPV dedicated to that scramble bullshit they do.
Fatal Four Way in June- No comment.
I hate fatal four way matches, over the top rope matches, and most any shit ton of people in the ring at one time crap. I mean sure, with more people in the ring at once, it disguises half the mistakes in the ring that most of the guys make, while at the same time being a giant clusterfuck with absolutely NO purpose behind it.
Money in the Bank in July- I actually like this, here's how I see it happening after this year. Throughout the night every match is a Qualifier for the MITB Main Event. Simple as that but this year is intriguing if the WM MITB Winner still has the briefcase that would possibly give us two MITB Briefcase holders at the same time. There are some nice possibilities to that in itself.
Have one $ITB winner cash in after a title match, only to have him win and then the OTHER $ITB winner cash in on him? Why not just set up a match between them any way? I think the WWE is just doing that (if that is what they are doing) to leave themselves two aces in the hole. Why have only one monkey wrench to throw into things when you can have TWO? On the serious side of things, it diminishes the worth of actually winning a $ITB match. Why not have two kings of the ring?
Thanks for getting my hopes up.
Just trying to bring some sunshine to your life, bro.
That's exactly what I was thinking now. People bitch about the gimmick changes, but it's basically Vince admitting he doesn't have the star power for just normal PPVs with well-thought, interesting feuds. He's creating a catch to order the PPV, which is a good idea, imo, with what they have to work with. But obviously, if the product didn't suck, this wouldn't be necessary.
So basically, the more 'interesting' the matches or PPVs are created to be, the less we should notice that the guys IN the matches suck balls? Gotcha.
