Thoughts on the Olympics

With these Olympics behind us, it makes me wonder and post a few questions.....
First off, why does Phelps get crowned the greatest Olympian ever? Sure, he is the most dominant swimmer and all, but he also gets to compete for what 8 or so medals in one Olympics? How fair is that? Shouldn't "swimming" be classified as a team sport? Have all these several events and the best TEAM time win? Then all the USA swimmers can get a medal.... ONE medal... you know.. like the OTHER TEAM SPORTS!!!!

I'm feeling that you shouldn't have it one way for one sport and a different way for other sports. With swimming's logic, the USA women s soccer team should have gotten credit for a gold medal for EACH player on the team.

Am I alone in thinking this way?

Don't really care that much to see if one person or a team gets it honestly. As long as our country gets it then it's fine by me..even though I don't even watch the Olympics to begin with :haha:

Not really my expertise, I didn't watch any Olympics apart from 25 minutes of a football game. But I'm with Farooq as long as the country gets it, I'm fine with it.

Don't see the point of the olympics.. when we had sports day the whole world could come for free
