Last night RVD made his debut in TNA by getting a surprise quick victory over Sting. But after the match, Sting beat the living hell out of RVD with a baseball bat. Now it looks like Mr. Monday Night has some unfinished business with Sting.

I fucking marked when RVD made his debut. It was awesome to see the crowd go ape shit. One good way to get Sting over as a heel is to beat the hell out of one of the most over faces. So it looks like these two might just be in a feud. I definitely don't mind these guys feuding at all.

For once we do have a fresh feud. In fact I'm pretty sure that was their first time in a ring together. So it's really fresh. The only thing though is how Sting gets developed as a heel. In the past he has never been successful as a heel. Sure he was in the Main Event Mafia but he never got any heat. All the heat was coming from Angle. So it really depends on if he gets over as a heel right now.

Well what do you all see RVD doing? How long will this thing with Sting last? Is RVD going straight to the main event? Will he be placed in the X Division? Will he have feuds with no title involvement for the time being?

I don't know that they are going to have an RVD/Sting feud. It seems his beef is more with Hogan and used RVD's returning momentum to fuel his heel turn.

I did too, I've always liked RVD. But with all those shots RVD took TNA kind of gave him an out for not being on the show for however long and Stings main focus isn't RVD. Even though we like RVD, I doubt they are going to give him a run with Sting at this point.

Seems this is more WCW Sting than anything he has done in TNA. I was wondering if it were going to come to this as soon as Hogan and Bischoff took the reigns.

I think we should wait and see if RVD even puts in an appearance on next weeks Impact before speculating on what, if any, story lines they are developing for him.

I honestly can't stand Sting. I hoped that RVD would be up against someone else, like maybe help put a younger guy over or something, but Sting and his queer baseball bat need to fuck off because he's boring.

I figure they want to put RVD against a big name so people say OMG WOW AWESOME but I personally find it lame.

Sting needs to get rid of the face paint and become Steve Borden. It could be similar to Undertaker's role as the American Badass. I think Undertaker's feud with Flair was some of his best stuff ever.

Dumbest thing you've said yet.

It would also be something different besides the same old Sting.

^^^^ Agreed 100%

I have yet to see RVD on impact, its currently downloading. But i read the spoilers cause i could not wait no more. Sounds like a good show to me. And RVD in TNA is only good for TNA and not RVD.

The way they used RVD's momentum was a brilliant strategy on starting Sting out as a heel. Everybody wanted to see RVD on his first night on Impact triumphant but here Sting is beating the hell out of him with his baseball bat. I'm sure Hogan is not going to be too happy with Sting but is Hogan really going to go after Sting when everyone else wants to see him out of the ring?

Maybe. Maybe not. If RVD doesn't try to get some revenge it would make no sense. But after that, the whole thing between the two of them will probably be over. I don't know. I guess I was just excited that RVD is back and immediately thought they would have a feud after one incident. But now, I realize it's definitely way to soon to call now.

Definitely. But it's not a bad thing.

Well unlike Jeff Hardy he doesn't have any current legal issues. But obviously they might want to make him sell his beating.

I won't lie. I thought Sting's heel turn was pretty epic. But I've come to realize since he came to TNA, I'm a pretty damn big Sting fan.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

That's right.

First to address the face paint thing...
Sting's character is nowhere near as closed off as Taker's is. He acts like a normal person, and in fact does appear without the face paint quite often lately, especially in his MEM stint. The face paint is more just part of his "ring attire" now-a-days... nothing wrong with it at all.

Anyway, happy to see RVD though I can't imagine the amount of ring rust the guy probably has. I'm all for Sting/RVD, though I think we're more likely to get a Sting/Hogan or Sting/Abyss feud out of this. No doubt RVD will seek some sort of revenge though.

One complaint, although quite funny and it really drove home the heel thing hard... the bat shots were extremely excessive. RVD would literally be dead.

So he is just called RVD now in TNA or Rob Van Dam? Wasn't his name trademarked?

No, he owns the rights to his own name.
And when was he not called RVD? LOL

Undertaker acted like a normal person during his feud with Ric Flair. Sting doesn't need the face paint at all.

How is the face paint affecting anything though? It's not like it's an alteration of his character, it's just something he's become synonymous with.
