Not sure if this has been posted before..

Anyways i was thinking about this yesterday who do u like better The Rock or Austin. I always looked at them basically as the same person as a kid. Sure Austin beat The Rock 2 out of three times during WrestleMania but still. Who do you guys favor more Rock or Austin?

edit- forgot to add poll :(

The Rock was better, but Austin will always be the shit. They were unique in their own ways. I was just watching that One Night Stand 2005 with Austin at the end, it was awesome, lol. It seems Austin is respected WAY more for who he is, pretty much everyone likes him. But, I also watched the 2008 ceremony induction.. still pisses me off that even though it's obvious The Rock misses the business he won't ever make an appearance. After watching that, there's no quesion about how good he is.. after 3 lines the entire arena was chanting his name, even Cena was like wow, wtf? He's still the best.

it reminds me of how pathetic the product is today. the entire show doesnt get half the reaction that rock or austin used to get just by grabbing the mic.

I've always liked The Rock more, always will. He's one of the first guys I can remember truly being a favorite of mine.

I love that years Hall of Fame so much because of The Rocks speech. When he talked about the guys he's never wrestled before like Cena, and Rey, I wanted to see him come back more then ever before.

Plus he was just damn funny throughout the whole thing.

I don't think it's a matter of the product being pathetic, but more of Stone Cold and The Rock just being too damn awesome and nobody being on their level as of now.

I was having a conversation with my friend about that the other day. No one draws those kind of reactions anymore. The loudest pops we hear is for someone returning off an injury...or making a return after a long break. Rock and Austin would get that kind of response every time they walked into the ring. Even Cena doesn't come close to that kind of shit. I think a lot of it also has to do with the age group who's cheering for most of the bigger faces. I don't think a bunch of 10 years olds are going to be quite as rowdy or make quite as much noise as a bunch of 20-30 year old drunk people..lol.

why dont you go ahead and blame the crowd while you're at it? austin and rock weren't the only ones who got cheers back then.

I dont blame the crowd, in fact I partially agree with you, its just that I don't blame the game being exactly worse, but the players not being as good as they once were. Besides, the only guys who arent still wrestling that were wrestling back in the day are those two (maybe Mick Foley since he's in exile now)

first you say its the players' fault cuz they're not as good as they once were..............then you say we got the same wrestlers except rock, austin and foley which means its not their fault. hello contradictions...

just end this, agree with me and blame the writers and the new direction.

I disagree with you, I think it's an issue of them just being just bad, tbh. Even Orton I think just sounds awkward on the mic, kinda like Joe, like hes trying so hard and he has a fucking robotic monotonous voice (he was much better in Evolution when he was just cocky and seemed more confident, same with Batista). Triple H as a face is gay, even HBK. Neither of those guys were Austin or Rock and never will be. Seriously, I know you'll agree, but when you hear Edge and Jericho talk on the mic it's a tooling to anyone they're talking with or anyone in the vicinity for the remainder of the show.. the guys just sound leagues ahead of ANYONE they talk with, they're both amazing and fucking legends. Jericho did the same thing when he was face as well, just shows how good that guy is. Also, look at guys like Foley who were also the shit on the mic and complemented heels like Triple H well. Even on TNA, he still seems better than most of the guys in the WWE, I just don't think the WWE would give him time to do shit later in his career like this, which is sad because he's still damn good. Angle use to be another of whom I'd say was one of the best at the time of his debut, was absolutely amazing heel.. then he just went downhill I think slowly, dunno if it was the drugs or not but his voice changed and he started sounded like a 50+ year old Flair. =/

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention there's one guy who's always had the potential to be damn good, he flows like no other new guy on the mic and that's MVP. But too bad about what's been happening with him, I always said he'd be the closest thing to The Rock if anyone.

Reminisces over Jericho & Flair guesting on 'The VIP Lounge' whilst MVP was still heel.... :sigh:
