Normally I post this after the impacted show for the week to explain a certain booking decision. Didn’t need to wait this time so figured I’d get it over and done with. I promise the next post in here will be the week 6 episode of Raw.

Ring Of Honor and All Alite Wrestling contracted wrestler Anthony Henry has been suspended for 30 days for violating the companies wellness policy. No further information has been provided at this time; however company reps claim that this is the exception to the rule, and there is not a culture of drugs of any sort within the Tony Khan led organisation.

Booking Challenge Week #6​

ROH was hit this week, and I was really nervous as there are a lot of big shows where plans could be ruined this weekend. To make matters worse, the scenario I received was that a wrestler violated the wellness policy. I placed all members of the ROH roster into a random list generator, and Anthony Henry is the name that was chosen. Thankfully for me, I had no plans for Henry therefore I don’t have to change anything I’ve already got planned for ROH this week. Lucky me.

Week 1 Booking Challenge – NXT – Book a tag team best of seven series – In Progress with Briggs and Inamura vs. The High Ryze

Week 2 Booking Challenge – NXT – Book two top starts to join forces – Jasper Troy and Trick Williams are now a unit.

Week 3 Booking Challenge – NXT – Turn a random heel wrestler to a babyface – Brooks Jensen turned face by saving his former friend Josh Briggs, and his new tag team partner, Yoshiki Inamura from an attack by The High Ryze.

Week 4 Booking Challenge – AEW – A heel trash talks and causes a legend to return for a match – Kyle Fletcher ran down Washington and Washington wrestlers, leading to Bryan Danielson coming to the aid of his hometown and returning.

Week 5 Booking Challenge - SD - A babyface tries to set a heel on a better path by teaming up. Randy Orton teamed up with Carmelo Hayes to stop the angry youngster from being destroyed by The Wyatt Sicks.

Week 6 Booking Challenge – ROH – Wrestler suspended 30 days for violating the wellness policy – Anthony Henry who was not being used, therefore no plans changed.

The show started with some words from everybody’s favourite faction, The Vision. The fearless leader of the group, Seth Rollins was completely focused on his match at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend with LA Knight. Rollins referred to Knight as a miniscule hurdle which he’ll run down this weekend, before yet again focusing on his main objective, reclaiming the World Heavyweight Championship. “By the end of Summerslam, the vision is clear, I will be the World Heavyweight Champion again. No chump with a big mouth like LA Knight is going to stop me. He’s not in my league, he’s out of my element, and I’m so sure of it that I actually invited LA Knight to come face to face with me tonight on Raw”. The fans were excited by that prospect, until Rollins stated that Knight must know the words Seth was speaking are the truth as well, because Knight decided against showing up tonight. “It turns out LA Knight is running scared… YEAH”! The fans didn’t appreciate the mocking tone of Rollins, as The Vision all laughed together, until the titantron came to life. We then see what was really happening, as LA Knight was in the parking lot, however he was being apprehended by police and unable to get inside the arena. Inside the ring, Paul Heyman held up his phone and claimed that “with my connections, one phone call can change the world”. With that, Seth, Heyman and Bronson Reed left…

Leaving Bron Breakker to have his own moment in the ring. Bron spoke about how this was the end for Goldberg, and whilst even Goldberg knew it was his retirement match, he would not be going out as he envisioned in a blaze of glory. Speaking of Goldberg’s career, The Berg claimed Bron was a liar, but Breakker wanted to prove that everything he said about Goldberg last week was the truth, by inviting Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner into the ring. Bron asked his dad and uncle to talk about how Goldberg was. Rick talked about how he helped Goldberg when he was a rookie, but Goldberg was selfish and never returned the favour. Scott thought about his answer a little more, “Goldberg was always a jealous son of a bitch when it came to the Big Bad Booty Daddy, and Steiner math says he’s getting his ass kicked on Saturday”. Bron thanked his elders for their time, however things didn’t finish there, with Goldberg joining them inside the ring. Goldberg looked no nonsense, so Bron charged at him, but The Berg sidestepped Breakker and threw him from the ring. It was then like Groundhog Day on Goldberg’s final ever Raw appearance, as he ran through two old WCW nemesis’, Spearing them both through the ring. The Berg stood tall, telling Bron “no more words”, ready for the challenge that is Bron Breakker in less than a week…

Later on in the night, we opened to a new scene which showed a handcuffed LA Knight sitting in the back of a police car. Knight looked furious as Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman came over to poke fun at Knight. Heyman mockingly scalded Knight, telling him “that’s what happens when you break a restraining order.” Seth cackled some more, informing Heyman that he truly is a genius. The two continued to celebrate their handiwork, with Seth dancing and making faces through the car window, until the police officers carted a furious LA Knight away…

In the final bit of The Vision news for the night, Bronson Reed defeated Penta. They went at it for a little over five minutes, but Reed was just to powerful, eventually literally squashing Penta with the Tsunami…

A video package played relatively early on in the night, showing the separation of Judgment Day last week. The women rolled through to Smackdown, leaving the men on Raw, with Dom Mysterio to be the leader, according to the ladies…

It was a less crowded version of the clubhouse this week, and would be moving forward for Judgment Day. With Finn Balor and JD McDonagh relaxing on the couches, the WWE Intercontinental Champion Dom Mysterio stood in the centre of the room. Having his chest puffed out, it looked like Dom was taking this leadership gig seriously. He told the interested JD and the clearly less interested Balor that this was an adjustment period for their group, as they are basically a new version now. “As the designated leader of the new Judgment Day, I want us to make a signal of intent on my first night in charge”. McDonagh was all ears, but Finn looked downright offended that Dom was trying to play himself off as the leader of the group. Dom further pushes that they need to be on the same page which means they need to listen to what he says, which drew a scoff from Balor. Dom questioned Finn, wondering “what’s your problem”, and Finn jumped to his feet aggressively. McDonagh looked concerned, getting between the two, but before anything else could happen, Sami Zayn unexpectedly barged into the Judgment Day clubhouse. All of Judgment Day looked genuinely confused as Sami went off at them for ruining his stuff. “You think you can sneak on into my locker room, graffiti my stuff to make a point on your first night without the girls, and there’d be no consequences? Well, an ASS KICKING is your consequence”. The group remained confused, refusing to admit to anything, as Sami then mentioned going to speak to Adam Pearce about a match tonight before leaving…

Sami Zayn stayed true to his word, eventually finding his way into the office of Raw General Manager Adam Pearce. This time Sami had some of his defaced gear with him, and he showed Pearce bits of his clothes which had references to “Judgment Day” and “Dirty Dom” spraypainted on. Pearce asked Sami what he wanted, to which Sami confirmed he wanted all of JD in a match tonight. Pearce agreed and booked a six man, to which Sami chuckled, as he mentioned “on my way here, I bumped into the perfect partners for this. Thanks Adam” …

Right before the now confirmed main event, the Judgment Day faction also paid Adam Pearce a visit. They swore black and blue that somebody had set them up, and they had nothing to do with the vandalism of Sami Zayn’s property. Dom made it clear, “somebody is setting us up here, Pearce”. Pearce pondered it for a moment, before stating that whilst it may be the case, the proof heavily pointed to the fact that Judgment Day indeed did do it. “In a position of power here on Monday Night Raw, all I can do is go off the current information available. What that means is that right now, you three look guilty, so you better go get ready, you’re up next.”. Judgment Day were irate as they left the room, with Finn drawing a dirty look from Dom after he told him, “great leadership” …

In the main event of the evening, the dream team of Sami Zayn, AJ Styles and Roman Reigns defeated Judgment Day. In a solid main event that went thirteen minutes, all hell broke loose at the end, allowing Roman to run through McDonagh with the Spear to pick up the victory…

Ivy Nile and Scarlett stood in the ring, ever the makeshift team, ready to attempt to qualify for a shot at the WWE Womens Tag Team Championship. Suddenly, Adam Pearce appeared on the titantron, announcing that he had pulled some strings to get a legendary duo to join forces and chase the title shot at Evolution…

Lita and Trish Stratus defeated Ivy Nile and Scarlett to qualify for Evolution. They went at it for approx. seven minutes with Lita catching Scarlett with a Moonsault for the win…

After the match, Lita and Trish Stratus celebrated their impressive victory, knowing they were going to Evolution to compete for the tag titles. Their celebration was cut short as Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley entered the ring. Having already qualified for Evolution, Iyo and Rhea stared the legendary duo down, respectful smirks on everybody’s faces. With Iyo and Rhea looking aligned, we then saw a shot of Asuka watching on in the back, looking utterly irate at the situation at hand…

The World Tag Team Champions The New Day are interviewed in the back and asked what’s next for them and their titles. They talk about how they have literally defeated everybody in their paths, and having cleaned out the division, they are unsure what’s next for them. What they do know, is that they are going to be tag champions for a long time to come. As they went to leave the interview set, they happened to walk past Penta. The masked luchador paused, staring down the tag champs. No words are spoken but tension was in the air, until Penta kept on walking, having a match to compete in later on in the night…

After suffering a brutal defeat to Bronson Reed, Penta limped back through the curtain, grimacing as he did so. Just past the Gorilla Position, waiting to greet him were The New Day. Much like their confrontation earlier in the night, there were no words, although Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods did laugh at Penta for losing. They then left the scene, leaving an angry Penta to contemplate the disrespect that had just taken place…

Another interview took place during the night, this one belonging to Natalya. The veteran had been announced as a participant in the Battle Royal at Evolution this Sunday, and Jackie Redmond wanted her thoughts. Nattie talked about how she had been in this company for a long time, and she’d normally smile and say she’s happy for the opportunity. “But the opportunity isn’t enough anymore. I’m tired of failing, I’m putting that part of my career behind me. I’m as hungry as ever, and at Evolution, I’ll prove it to the world”. Jackie looked slightly shocked at the aggressive nature of Natalya before sending us back to ringside…

This wasn’t the only discussion around the Evolution Battle Royal on the show. Recently called up from NXT, Stephanie Vaquer cut a promo inside the ring where she made her intentions clear. Just like her time in NXT, she wasn’t going to take long to become a champion, so she was going to win the Battle Royal at Evolution. Vaquer was interrupted by another semi recent NXT graduate when Lyra Valkyria appeared. Both women were all smiles, the respect clear, but Lyra also made it very clear that she planned on winning. “For those that don’t know, I’ve got to pull some referee duty at Evolution for Bayley and Becky… Thanks Adam Pearce… But there’s no way I’m letting the second all women’s Premium Live Event go ahead without me competing. I’ll be winning the Battle Royal and then I’ll get my rightful opportunity at MY Womens Intercontinental Championship AND the World Championship”. Vaquer vehemently disagreed and the two started to bicker, until everybody popped for the surprise arrival of Nikki Bella. The twin got a huge pop as she recapped how long it had been since she was in a WWE match. She also talked about her history and how she’s a big match player and it doesn’t get any bigger than Evolution. “I’ll show both of you, and everybody else in that Battle Royal what it means to be fearless”. The three all disagreed with each other, but the stage was set, there are so many women, even some not featured tonight, that desperately want to win the Battle Royal…

After failing to get his hands on Logan Paul last week, the World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso was once again on the hunt for Logan this week. Walking with a purpose, Jey asked several members of the backstage crew, but seemingly nobody had seen Logan. This is when Jey would be approached by Karrion Kross, who put a calming hand on Uso, who immediately swatted it away. Kross snickered at the defiant action before declaring that he came in peace. He came to give Jey some free advice. “You’re cracking under the pressure, champ. You’re letting yourself be consumed by hate, and if you keep doing that, it’s going to cloud your judgment, and you’re going to lose that title”. Jey tried to maintain his composure as he openly admitted that he does hate Logan Paul. “But my emotions will fuel me, not hurt me. I’ll channel them into SMASHING Logan Paul, uce, but if I can’t find that coward right now, I need an emotional release, and I think I know just the way”. Kross looked intrigued until Jey socked him with a right hand. The brawl was on between the two until security and agents were able to break it up…

A match was made based on the above confrontation and Jey Uso defeated Karrion Kross via disqualification. Eight minutes in, Jey looked well and truly on top, climbing up for his Splash from the top rope, when Logan Paul appeared and pushed Jey off the top. This was blatantly done in front of the referee, who had no choice but to call for the bell…

After the match, the fans deliver a tremendous amount of heat, as Logan Paul lined up Jey Uso, and knocked him unconscious with the brass knuckles. As Karrion Kross faded into the background, Logan grabbed the World Title and raised it above his head. To some, the image of Logan as World Champ might be scary given his background, but this visual could well become reality this weekend…

Gunther defeated Sheamus. After nine of the hardest hitting minutes you would see, Gunther was able to put Sheamus to sleep with the Sleeper Hold. Whilst celebrating, Gunther wore an arrogant smirk whilst wondering out loud, “where’s the retaliation, AJ”?...

There was one other interview which took place throughout the night. After taking care of everybody he has faced so far, including Penta and Sheamus, Rusev was asked about what’s next. Rusev talked about how there’s also this talk about how he is a bully, but he does that because nobody is able to stop him. “Everybody who has stepped up to me has not been MAN enough to stop me. They say Rusev is a bully who needs to be stopped, well my door is open, I’m waiting for the next person to step up, so I can squash them into the ground”. With that, it seemed Rusev was well and truly on the lookout for his next conquest…

The six man tag was supposed to be the end of the night, but instead the cameras quickly cut to a loading are in the back. Bayley and WWE Womens Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch were in the middle of an intense brawl, neither able to wait for their match this Sunday at Evolution. They travelled throughout the backstage area, continuing to trade blows, until Lyra Valkyria and a bunch of road agents look to break it up. Eventually they succeed with Lyra keeping one arm across Becky’s chest, and then encouraging Bayley to stay away… when Becky snatches Lyra and gives her a Manhandle Slam onto a production crate!!! Lyra collapsed in agony, grabbing her back, as Becky shrugged, stating “oops, sorry ref”. The former champion and Special Guest Referee might not even be able to be the referee after this, and Becky especially, but even Bayley might be happy with that. With a view of EMT’s and Bayley checking on Lyra, the show faded to black…

Great to be able to follow this again. I think we are further away this time around that I shouldn't get your booking and the real WWE booking confused, but I still think out loud that Seth never won MITB this past summer lol

Love the beginning with LA Knight being arrested, I wonder if that "one phone call can change the world" line from Paul Heyman is hinting at something down the line or not. The Seth/LA feud is heating up and really no complaints about it at all. Seth looks strong, while LA having to overcome the bullshit sets him up nicely.

Cracked up at the Breakker promo. I hope he destroys The Berg at SNME, and then you catapult him into the title picture.

Poor Penta. Squashed by Big Bronson...I was going to say you could probably use Penta better than fodder, and then you are about to book a Lucha Bros reunion against New Day so I don't even have to eat my words lol Excited to see what happens there. I know Fenix is on SD but hey, guys randomly bounce from show to show irl so why not?

As a weekly Raw watcher, I'm numb to tension between Dom and Finn since they've been teasing it for about two years now. Hopefully you do what WWE hasn't yet and pull the trigger on a big time feud between the two.

Lita and Trish is a nice surprise, the Evolution card is taking shape. Everything in the Women's division seems to be clicking for you right now.

It's strange to say that the Jey/Logan program seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle. I feel like its something you just have to plow your way through until we get to the good stuff in Jey's title reign.

Gunther looks strong, as does Rusev. AJ, Sami and Roman were always going over. Everything moves forward.

Well, I'm glad to see this back. I'm still not sure how you find the time to book so many different btb's and they all hit all the time. You know you're the GOAT so I don't even have to say it. Looking forward to the next show on here, which I'm pretty sure is NXT? Either way, I'll be waiting for it!

We opened up the show with some wrestling again this week as Ricky Saints defeated Charlie Dempsey. Dempsey had the other members of the No Quarter Catch Crew, Tavion Heights and Wren Sinclair; however they were all in agreement for them to not interfere. Despite a tremendous effort from Dempsey, he fell to Saints and the Roshambo after twelve minutes…

After the match, Ricky Saints celebrated his hard fought victory, whilst an irritated Charlie Dempsey licked his wounds on the outside. Tavion Heights and Wren Sinclair went over to check on Dempsey; however Dempsey waved them away and stormed off. As the No Quarter Catch Crew headed to the back confused, Ricky Saints grabbed himself a microphone. Saints talked about how the scene is set, there isn’t much left to say and this weekend at The Great American Bash, he was going to do more than just beat Ethan Page. “I know this is being billed as the rubber match. I know this is being billed as an NXT North American Championship match, and those things are super important, but this weekend is SO MUCH MORE than that. Ethan Page is a smug, pompous ass who made this personal because he knows that I’m better than him. It’s time that boy learned a lesson, so I’m not just going to beat him and take his title, I’m going to HURT Ethan Page”. The fans cheered the intensity of Saints, however before he could wrap up his promo, loud clapping was heard. The big screen came alive and somewhere in what looks like a fancy skybox sits the NXT North American Champion Ethan Page. Page grabbed a napkin and fake wiped his eyes, telling Saints that what he was saying was really tugging at Page’s heart string, but he needed to correct Saints on something. “Ricky, you are a LIAR. You want to tell all these people that I made it personal, but YOU made it personal. This title on my shoulder is MY LIFE, and the moment you tried to take it, you tried to take my life away from me. HOW can that not be personal to me”? Page claimed that with the No Holds Barred stipulation, he would do anything to retain his title, and that’s the real reason why Page would beat Saints at Great American Bash. Saints vehemently disagreed, pointing at the fans around the arena and telling Page that they are his life and they are why he wrestles. “And my life wants me to be the NXT North American Champion. At Great American Bash, I’ll be the grim reaper, because I WILL take your life”. Despite not being in the same room together, the intensity and disdain between the two was obvious, as the scene came to an end…

After being distraught with his loss to start the show, Charlie Dempsey silently undid the tape from around his wrists in a locker room. The No Quarter Catch Crew were also inside the locker room, but Tavion Heights and Wren Sinclair knew better than to speak to Dempsey at the moment. The mood changed when Myles Borne walked into the room. Myles first addressed Dempsey, informing him that he put on a hell of a show and would have beaten nearly everybody else on the roster. He should be proud of himself. Dempsey wasn’t in the mood for compliments or comforting, choosing to ignore Borne. Borne then turned his attention towards Heights and Sinclair, offering them a friendly greeting which they returned. “Look Tavion, as much as not everybody in this room likes the idea, I know you’ve been eyeing off a singles run. I managed to speak to Ava earlier tonight and we’re going to have ourselves a little exhibition at Great American Bash. Myles Borne versus Tavion Heights… What do you say? Let’s see if you can capitalise on your shot like I did mine”. Heights smiled, happy with the move, sharing a hug with Borne and thanking him, before adding, “Well, let the best man win”. Even Wren clapped along excitedly, whilst a furious Dempsey, without a word, grabbed his belongings, barged passed them all without a word, and stormed out of the locker room…

In a locker room on his own, Ricky Saints cooled down after his win to open the show. Feeling confident ahead of his NXT NA Title shot at Great American Bash, Saints wore a smirk before he was greeted by Je’Von Evans. The bouncy youngster firstly apologised for the interruption. He understood that Saints needed to keep his body right for this weekend, but he wanted to wish Saints a congratulations. Saints thanked him, but suddenly, the smile on Evans’ face got a little bit wider. “I also want to wish you good luck. Not for your match with Ethan Page at Great American Bash, but for what comes next… Because if you win, I might be seeing you, and that NXT North American Championship real soon”. With another smirk, Evans left the room, leaving Saints to ponder just how complicated things may get if he wins the title this weekend…

Inside the women’s locker room, Zaria was moping around. She looked extremely distressed, as the camera panned out to reveal NXT Womens North American Champion Sol Ruca. Sol looked concerned at the inner turmoil her friend was facing, eventually speaking up and letting her know, “you know everything is okay right”? Zaria stopped pacing and looked her friend in the eye; emotion was written all over her face. Zaria disagreed, claiming that everything was not okay, because she couldn’t get the job done, which has now put her best friend in a tough spot. “I lost last week and because of that, not only is Izzi the number one contender, but she can cash in her match whenever she wants. That’s on me”. Sol walked over to Zaria, and she placed a calming hand on her shoulder. “I won this title by fighting for it, and I’ll keep it by fighting for it. You didn’t put me in a tough spot, I just need to do what champions should do, and that’s defend my title”. Zaria still didn’t look totally convinced so Ruca nudged her with her shoulder, playfully telling her to lighten up. “Besides, we need to worry about tonight. Yes, we’ve got Izzi and Tatum, and there’s a whole lot of drama there, but we need to put it all to the side. We win tonight and we qualify for a shot at the WWE Womens Tag Team Championships at Evolution. That sounds like a good time”. Zaria smirked at the contagious cheerful demeanour of her bestie, and the two then started putting together a game plan for their gigantic opportunity later in the night…

Sol Ruca and Zaria defeated Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxely to qualify for the WWE Womens Tag Team Championship Match at Evolution. Dame and Paxely focused on Ruca and looked good doing so, but when the hot tag was made, a determined Zaria was unstoppable. Sensing things slipping away, Dame hurt her knee, being injured, and getting the help of the rest of The Culling to take her to the back. This left Paxely in a two on one, and whilst Ruca attempted to show compassion, Zaria ran through her with the Spear to pick up the win at the eight minute mark…

The bad mood of Zaria had disappeared post-match, as her and Sol Ruca celebrated the implications of their victory. With ambitions of the tag team titles in their eyes, they were interrupted by Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley. Iyo and Rhea joined the victorious duo in the ring and there was a respectful stare down between them. As if the moment couldn’t get any bigger, then Lita and Trish Stratus made their way out, and all three teams that would do battle at Evolution sized each other up. Respect was in the air, they all smirked at each other, but their competitive nature said they’d all do anything to be the new tag champs at Evolution…

During the match earlier tonight, the commentators questioned the legitimacy of the injury to Izzi Dame. However, she was seen being checked on by a trainer, with The Culling and a very distraught looking Tatum Paxely watching on…

A video package aired throughout the night, showing highlights of Jordynne Grace’s career so far. It focused on her journey to NXT, and of course her time in TNA, before showing some of her highlights since she joined NXT. Grace’s voiceover could be heard over the video, “I’ve been at this for years. Hard work, sculpting my body, callusing my hands, strengthening my mind. I’ve worked my whole life for this opportunity, and at the Great American Bash, I will be the NEW NXT Womens Champion” …

It’s the fifth week in a row now where a vignette aired, showing a gorgeous blonde woman strutting her stuff in elegant evening gowns. Looking every bit upper class, the woman let it be known that she was Blake Monroe, and she would be bringing “glamour to NXT… SOON” …

Jordynne Grace defeated Jazmyn Nyx. Virtually a squash match where with Grace running through the women’s champion’s lacky. After putting on a beatdown, Grace hit the Grace Driver four minutes in to secure the victory…

After the match, Jordynne Grace had no time to celebrate. Instead, she was mobbed by NXT Womens Champion Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley. Recovering from the initial surprise, Grace was able to get rid of Henley by ramming her into the crowd barricade. This left Grace to brawl with the champ, and the two women fought up the ramp and to the backstage area, only stopping when they were forcefully separated by security and a bunch of road agents…

Joe Hendry and Mike Santana defeated Ashante The Adonis and Lexis King. Hendry and Santana were able to overcome the fact that they are both chasing the TNA Championship. Santana looked to be in control, when Hendry blind tagged himself in and finished off King with the Standing Ovation after nine minutes…

Once his challengers were long gone from the ring, TNA Champion Trick Williams stepped into the ring to cut a promo. It was the same old story from Trick as he talked about taking on all comers and proving he’s the best in the world. “Hell, now I’m carrying TrickNA on my back. I’m the best wrestler in NXT, I’m the best wrestler in the world, let alone TNA”. Trick now turned his attention directly to each of his challengers, running them down. He told Joe Hendry that “your fifteen minutes of fame is over concert, boy”. He told Mike Santana, “this ain’t no Disney fairytale, you ain’t getting your happy ending”. Finally, he turned his attention towards Elijah and simply laughed out loud. Despite their differences and ambitions, Hendry, Santana and Elijah all get together and start walking down the ramp. Trick was freaking out because for the first time in weeks, the challengers weren’t at each other’s throats. As they slid into the ring, Williams quickly slid out, hopped the barricade and decided to escape. The fans booed him loudly, as the challengers all kept their attention on the champion, who looked nowhere near as confident as he did when the challengers were fighting amongst themselves…

It felt like groundhog day when the NXT Tag Team Champions Hank and Tank approached NXT General Manager Ava in her office. Once again, there point of communication was to secure a title defence against Darkstate. “We know the best of seven series is wrapping up this weekend and we’ll be expected to defend the titles against the winners. That’s fine. We’re happy to do two title defences in two weeks if we have to, but we want Darkstate”. Tank nodded in agreement with the words from Hank and after weeks of putting off a decision or not committing, Ava changed her tune. “Okay. I don’t begrudge you guys for being fighting champions or for wanting revenge for being attacked after your match a few weeks back. Great American Bash has no room, but how about next week on NXT, Hank and Tank defend against Darkstate. The winners of that match will then go on to face the winners of the Best of Seven series between Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura and The High Ryze”. The champs were pumped, they agreed with the proposal and thanked Ava for her time before leaving…

Later on in the night, Darkstate were in an undisclosed location in the back and had a response to their title shot being made official for next week. “Ego can get the best of anybody and that’s what’s happening with those two oafs carrying the tag titles. They think they’re hunting for revenge, but they’re the hunted, falling deeper into our trap” claimed Dion Lennox. Saquon Sugars then continued, informing everybody that “the result is inevitable. That best of seven series is just noise, the tag team division is truly about to enter a Darkstate” …

Earlier in the week, in an undisclosed location, Tony D’Angelo caught up with Byron Saxton for a sit down interview. Of course, after thanking Tony for his time, all of Saxton’s questions are surrounding the issues between Tony and Stacks Lorenzo. At the mention of the name, the wave of emotion that crossed D’Angelo’s face was compelling. He talked about how he still wasn’t sure how he felt about all this really. “I’m not sure if I’m angry or if I’m heartbroken. Maybe a bit of both, but we’ve got this sit down comin’ up this weekend and as far as I’m concerned, it’s Stacks’ last chance. He can see the error of his ways and apologise to ‘The Boss’, or I will need to put him down just like any head of a family needs to deal with a Lieutenant who steps out of line”. Byron then asked about Luca Crusifino, which D’Angelo seemed even more conflicted about. Tony admitted he was very confused with Luca. “Stacks had been with me the longest so after he turned on me, how can I trust anybody right now? Hopefully after the Great American Bash, we’ll be in a position to sort out Luca’s stance one way or the other”. Finally, Saxton asked about the shocking return of Adrianna Rizzo, who Tony had previously put in witness protection for her own safety. “I did that for Rizzo because she’s got a heart of gold, man. Even now, with all the issues, she’s working endlessly to try and keep the family together. I think she might have called me a hundred times this week, and I’m sure it’s the same with Stacks and Luca as well. I appreciate what she’s trying to do, and we’ll just have to see what happens this weekend. I honestly can’t tell you how it’s going to go, but I will be there, and I’ll be ready for ANYTHING”. Byron then thanked Tony for his time and sent the program back to ringside…

In the communal women’s locker room, Lash Legend was bragging to anybody in the back that would listen. She was telling everybody that she was going to win the Battle Royal at Evolution and after that, she would become the NXT Champion. Jaida Parker came over and she couldn’t help but disagree. “Lash, you’re going to do a lot of things in your life, but winning that Battle Royal ain’t one of them. That’s MINE”. Lash disagreed, “I don’t think so”, but Jaida told her, “I know so”. The two women went nose to nose, when a bunch of the other women in the locker room got in between them, preventing them from getting violent…

The High Ryze defeated Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura to level the Best Of Seven series to 3-3. The two teams battled for ten minutes, and it was do or die for High Ryze, when Tyson Dupont caught Josh Briggs with a Roll Up. He held the tights for extra leverage and secured the victory, confirming that match seven will take place at the Great American Bash…

Thea Hail gave her first address in front of the students of Chase U, and of course Andre Chase himself. With Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors hanging on her every word, Thea talked about how Chase U did have some negative aspects. Not everything has gone perfect, “but I am a perfect example of can happen if you apply yourself through the learnings of Chase University”. Thea gave Chase his flowers, talking about how he was able to look within himself and realise maybe his methods weren’t the only way. That’s where she comes in. “Over the course of the next few weeks, possibly months, I will be giving you a list of tasks to fast track your Chase U learning.” She warned them that it won’t be easy, but she has full faith in them. As she amped them up further, suddenly Dixon and Connors jumped off their chairs, excited, and Andre Chase could only watch on, impressed with Thea’s teaching skills…

The show ended with NXT General Manager Ava inside the ring. She was hosting a final in ring confrontation between NXT Champion Jasper Troy and Oba Femi. Much to the dismay of the fans, the first thing Ava did before introducing the competitors, was bring a bunch of armed police officers inside the ring. Ava mentioned that “these two men can do incredible but scary things in the ring, so these police officers have been authorised to use full force to keep them at bay”. She then went on to introduce both men to the ring, Oba coming down first, and the champion wasn’t to far behind. Ava reminded them, especially Oba not to do anything rash, as Troy pretended to clean the NXT Title, really rubbing it in Femi’s face. After recomposing himself with a deep breath, Oba implored Troy to enjoy it. “This moment, standing there with MY NXT Championship, enjoy it, because the Great American Bash will be the last time you ever enter this ring as the NXT Champion. No surprises, no interference from Trick, nothing. The Ruler is taking back his throne this weekend”. Oba dropped the mic, having made his point, and all eyes were then diverted to Jasper Troy. He didn’t look overly impressed with Oba’s words, “You know, Oba, that’s a pretty good piece of business” … Jasper then exploded to land a title shot to Oba’s skull, but Oba ducked. As Oba turned to fight, the barrage of police officers stepped in between the two giants. Troy laughed at the furious Oba, but Femi started dismantling police officers, getting rid of them one by one. As this was happening, Troy decided to back up the ramp, telling Femi, who had now demolished the entire mini police force in the ring, “I’ll wait for Sunday” … Femi continued to fume, ready to take on the world to regain his title as the show faded to black…

The show opened up with our TBS Champion Mercedes Mone making her way to the ring for promo time. Mone had decided to leave all her other titles at home with her because everybody already knew she was the CEO, but tonight was different. “Nobody flexes like me, but I don’t need to do that tonight. I didn’t bring all my titles with me, I didn’t even bring my TBS Championship, because I am LOCKED in on the only title that matters at All In”. Mone now directly referred to her opponent, claiming that Toni Storm got the better of her last week due to the surprise return of Luther. Mone wanted to speak to Toni one on one, no Luther, no Mina Shirakawa, just the two of them. It didn’t take long for the AEW Womens Champion Toni Storm to join Mone in the ring, foregoing her usual theatrics and remaining rather business like. Storm admitted she was surprised this “heathen” was willing to step in the ring with her again after she embarrassed her on Dynamite last week. Mone laughed Storm’s comment off, and told Storm she wanted her in this ring, because she wanted one last chance to tell her face to face why she is going to beat her at Dynamite. “All the stuff with Luther, all the stuff with Mina, that’s all not important at the end of the day. You might find this hard to believe, but I actually respect you. I really do. When it comes to not just the AEW women’s locker room but women’s wrestling across the globe… You are the best… Of the rest… The issue you have is you’re not just facing any other woman at All In. You are facing the CEO, you are facing the face of women’s wrestling, you are facing the greatest of all time, and more than all that, Toni, you are facing the inevitable.” Toni admittedly looked impressed with the speech, for a moment, before waving it off. Storm disagreed with Mone wholeheartedly. “I respect you also, Mercedes, the feeling is mutual, but what’s also mutual is how much pleasure I’m going to get when I rip those lips spewing those lies right off your putrid little face. You can give yourself all the fancy names in the world, I can have the greatest gimmick in the world, but it all comes down to what happens in the ring at All In. I have worked myself to the bone to BUILD this division, I’ve been through bloody wars, mind games and everything in between and I’ve come out on top each and every time. I am built for nights like All In this Sunday, so let me take off my shoes, Mercedes, and then take a deep breath in, because for you, the smell of defeat is in the air”. Yep, I just used an old school Drake lyric in a promo. Anyway, Toni looked to kick off her shoe, when Mone pounced, attacking her with right hands. Storm stumbled backwards, dropping her title, allowing Mone to pick it up and smash it across her skull. Before the scene ended, we got the image of Mone posing with the AEW Womens Championship, perhaps a sign of things to come…

The AEW World Champion Jon Moxley lurked in the halls of the arena, standing alone. He paced back and forth as he recollected some of the wars he’s had with Adam Page in the past, including their Texas Death Match. “I remember looking up at the ceiling, I remember looking up into the eyes of a man full of rage, as Adam Page tried to choke the life out of me. I remember my vision going blurry, my life flashed before my eyes, and in a way, that’s how this all started”. Mox talked about how that was the night he realised AEW needed to change. Hangman Page did more sadistic things to Swerve Strickland, proving the type of man he is. “I started all of this trying to find a saviour for AEW. Trying to find somebody who would step up and elevate this company. That person is NOT Adam Page, otherwise he would have done it by now.” Mox then paused, thinking over his next words carefully. He talked about how he does what needs to be done, and the people don’t like that, but he bleeds AEW. “What if the saviour was me all along? Maybe I’ll get my flowers at Page’s funeral” …

The Paragon defeated Lance Archer, Rocky Romero and Trent Seven. Even with Don Callis with them at ringside, the B or even C Team of the Don Callis Family were unable to get the job done. Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong were able to keep Archer and Seven busy, allowing Adam Cole to finish off Romero with the Last Shot after twelve minutes…

After the match, chaos ensued around ringside with Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong continuing to brawl with Lance Archer and Trent Seven. Rocky Romero rolled outside the ring in agony, allowing TNT Champion Adam Cole to exit the ring, and grab a hold of Don Callis. The fans were popping like crazy as Cole roughly took Callis into the ring, and taking him down into an Arm Bar position. Callis begged for mercy as Cole threatened but didn’t break the arm. Instead, he had a proposition for the head of the family. “You want to keep this arm in one piece; there’s only one way to make that happen. You’re the big shot, you’re the manager, sign the contract. I want my match with Daniel Garcia at All In to be a Street Fight”! Callis freaked out at first, but then with no escape and fearing for his arm due to the rest of his family being in Japan, Callis conceded. Being a man of his world, Cole then relinquished Callis, looking pleased that he got what he wanted…

FTR and Stokely Hathaway are interviewed in the back with Stokely doing most of the question answering. He talked about how FTR are living legends, the greatest tag team of all time and the clock is ticking to All In when they regain their tag team titles. “The Hurt Syndicate, The Paragon, you boys have no idea what you’re in for.” Big Stoke seemed finished but Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood share a quick nod, seemingly agreeing to bring up another topic. Cash told Stoke they’ve just got one more thing, before Harwood added, “as for Cope, he better stay out of our business. We’ve already ran him out of AEW, he doesn’t want us showing up at his front doorstep to take him out permanently”. Stoke smirked at the message being sent as FTR then left the scene…

MJF defeated Mark Briscoe. This match was a seven minute sprint with Briscoe more than holding his own. Just as it looked he might be heading towards an upset victory, MVP got on the apron. The distraction was enough to allow MJF to snatch a Roll Up with the tights for the tainted win…

After the match, there is no reprieve for Mark Briscoe, as MJF attacked him. MVP got involved as well, ensuring it’s a two on one, with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin joining them not long after at the request of MJF. The Hurt Syndicate looked to inflict further punishment on Briscoe, when Anthony Bowens, AR Fox and Mistico desperately slid inside the ring. Instead of getting involved in a major brawl, MVP convinces The Hurt Syndicate to leave the ring, knowing they all have important matches at All In this Sunday. As they headed up the ramp, MJF whispered to Porter, “all those guys are in the Casino Gauntlet with me. Why aren’t we taking them out? They’re all going to be gunning for me now”. MVP calmed the fears of MJF though, imploring him to trust the process as we cut away…

Later in the night, PAC defeated Anthony Bowens, Brody King and Mistico to earn the number two entry spot in the Casino Gauntlet Match. Just as it seemed like Bowens was about to shock the world and pin Mistico, PAC snatched him into The Brutaliser and Bowens had no choice but to preserve himself for All In and submit. The match went nine minutes…

After the match, PAC celebrated and then disappeared, but as Mistico was working to his feet, MJF attacked him from behind. MJF clobbered all over the back of Mistico and stomped all over him, until Mark Briscoe ripped MJF off of him. Briscoe started teeing off on MJF with right hands, before swinging for the killer blow, but MJF ducked and Briscoe accidentally punched Mistico in the face. MJF fled the scene, whilst Mistico shoved Briscoe, unhappy with the shot, but Mark snapped, kicking Mistico in the gut and hitting him with the Jay Driller. It’s every man for themselves this Sunday in the Casino Gauntlet, folks…

In a hallway in the backstage area, Cru had something to get off their chests. Action Andretti and Lio Rush admitted they weren’t overly pleased with their fortunes lately, but they were making a stand. Lio added, “the time for change is now, and it’s going to start with us getting our win back”. Andretti then officially challenged Jet Speed to a match at All In. They planned to reverse their fortunes by reversing the result of their last match, and getting a win back. “We know we’re better than Jet Speed and tonight we’re going to prove it.” As they are about to walk out of screenshot, Rush added one more thing, “Oh and Ricochet, we recommend you watch closely”. Having covered all their bases, the promo was now over…

One particular feud required no more words at this point. A video package aired highlighting the celebrated history between AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada and AEW International Champion Kenny Omega. The video showed highlights of their series in New Japan, showing respect literally being earned throughout their epic matches. They now find themselves on opposing sides of the ring again at All In. Who will come out on top and become the unified champion???

In somewhat of a surprise, we get an in ring promo from Willow Nightingale. She was as excitable as ever during her entrance, but once she started speaking, a different level of serious came across Willow. She talked about how she does love to have a good time but that shouldn’t get her overlooked as a serious competitor. “I know when to have fun and went to get down to business, and you will see that at All In. I’m taking the Casino Gauntlet as serious as I’ve ever taken any match. I will win and I will challenge for the AEW Womens Championship and NOBODY can stop me”. Willow looked frustrated when her promo was interrupted by Megan Bayne. The amazonian woman stepped right into the ring without hesitation, and the two had an intriguing stare down. After a few moments of the tension increasing, Bayne told Willow her intentions were cute, but it just wasn’t going to happen that way. “I’m going to dominate just like I always do, even if that means I’ve got to beat your giggly ass to do it. And if you don’t believe me, I’ll just run through you right now”. Fighting words were spoken and both women dropped their microphones, ready to get it on, when Tay Melo appeared on the stage. Tay talked about unfinished business with Bayne, before sliding into the ring. “Any other woman winning this except for me, will be over my dead body.” As Melo stated this, Penelope Ford came from nowhere and cracked a steel chair over Melo’s back. Melo crumbled to the canvas as Willow now fought for her life, but Bayne and Ford were able to beat her down, standing tall…

Swerve Strickland defeated Nick Jackson. Surprisingly, Matt Jackson stayed away from ringside, allowing the singles specialist to beat the tag specialist. After eight minutes, Swerve hit the JML driver for the win…

What was probably less surprising was that once the match was completed, Matt Jackson was quick to run down to the ring. A two on one beatdown occurred with The Young Bucks taking care of Swerve Strickland. Just when it seemed like things couldn’t get any worse, the Death Riders, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta entered the ring. The beating was about to get deadly for Swerve, when Hangman Adam Page, Bryan Danielson and Will Ospreay ran down to make the save. A chaotic brawl ensued, until a referee ran down, and we’ve got ourselves an impromptu eight man tag team main event…

Death Riders and The Young Bucks w/Wheeler Yuta defeated Hangman Adam Page, Bryan Danielson, Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay. It was a chaos fuelled ten minutes with the match sprawling all throughout ringside. Even though he wasn’t a participant, Yuta might as well have been with how involved he was. In the end, it’s Yuta that proved to be the difference, joining the carnage on the outside. This allowed The Bucks to get a two on one against Swerve in the ring, and they landed the Meltzer Driver for the win…

The match was finished but the mayhem never truly stopped. The Death Riders continued to brawl with Hangman Adam Page, Bryan Danielson and Will Ospreay. They fought at ringside and even made their way through the crowd and out of site. Meanwhile, inside of the ring, standing tall, The Young Bucks were able to celebrate their victory. They knew if Swerve Strickland decided to show up on his own at All In, as previously suggested, the outcome would be identical. Speaking of Swerve, a camera followed the disappointed man as he headed up the ramp. He didn’t even look back at The Bucks, heading through the curtain where he bumped into Prince Nana. Concerned for his colleague, Nana comforted Strickland with a hand on his shoulder. After contemplating for a moment or so, Swerve uttered the words that may change everything, “get me my cell. I need a partner, and I have just the guy in mind”. Nana was confused and curious but ran off to do as he was told, leaving Swerve standing, exhausted, but potentially with a plan as the show faded to black…

The Infantry and The Kingdom battled to a Double Count out to open the show. Neither team could be restrained at ringside as they brawled away after six minutes, leaving the referee no choice but to call for the bell…

The fans weren’t happy with the lame finish to the first match of the night, but both The Infantry and The Kingdom didn’t even notice. They continued to fight each other with all their might, until a bunch of security had to intervene and pull them apart. As they continued to try and break free and get at each other again, our commentary team announced that they just received word and there would be a rematch between these two teams at Supercard Of Honor in a few days’ time…

…

Despite clearly being hobbled by his injured knee, the ROH World Champion Bandido was still at the show. Bandido was in the back, and he talked about how last week Josh Alexander showed his true colours. “You broke a cinder block over my knee, but it wasn’t enough to keep me down. But I don’t want to talk about me, I want to talk about you. You see, I know why you did this. You did it because you wanted to take me out because you’re afraid. You’re afraid that you won’t be able to beat me, so you buddy up to Don Callis, you try and take me out, but none of it’s working”. Bandido claimed he’s the World Champion for a reason, and he planned to uphold the tradition of ROH as champion for a long time. “You have no honor, but that’s okay, because I WILL beat you, and you WILL NOT be champion.” Even with his injured leg, Bandido was clearly still more determined than ever…

Josh Alexander defeated Mascara Dorada in the main event of the evening. This went eight minutes and wasn’t just some fine turning for Alexander, it was a hard fought match. In the end, the Don Callis Family said screw the honour system, with Hechicero providing a distraction, allowing Alexander to finish things off with the C4 Spike…

Jay Lethal has done it all in ROH, but it doesn’t look like he’s got plans for Supercard of Honor, so that’s my next challenge. The Frat House made their way out to the ring, Cole Karter, Griff Garrison and Jacked Jamison carrying red solo cups, whilst Preston Vance has a table with him. They set up the table in the middle of the ring, and organise the cups to play a game of beer pong. Karter talked about how midterms are cancelled and even though they’ve got a serious match with The Dark Order this weekend, they wanted to show the world why “our GPA is Grade Point Awesome and we’re undefeated at Beer Pong”. They started playing beer pong, it was Karter and Garrison versus Jamison and Vance, and they celebrated like lunatics every time somebody landed a ball in the cup. Jamison even went as far as to drop and do ten push ups every time there was a successful throw. Suddenly, the game was interrupted by The Dark Order. They ran to the ring and ruined the game of beer pong, clearing the ring of The Frat House, including drilling Jacked Jamison through the table with a Spinebuster. As The Frat House scurried up the ramp, The Dark Order stood tall inside the ring…

Johnny TV and Shane Taylor defeated The Sons Of Texas earning MxM an ROH Six Man World Tag Team Championship Match at Supercard Of Honor, and earning Shane Taylor Promotions a future ROH World Tag Team Championship match. TV and Taylor had their buddies with them at ringside, and the numbers game was just do much for Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara to overcome. After being distracted, Sammy walked right into a Marcus Garvey Driver, allowing Taylor to get the pin at the five minute mark…

A video package played, highlighting the ultra-impressive title reign of ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty. Moriarty has currently held the title for 349 days, and if successfully defends his championship at Supercard Of Honor tomorrow night, he will become the longest reigning Pure Champion in history. The man who he faces tomorrow night is the man with the current record setting reign, Nigel McGuiness. The video then switched to highlights of Nigel’s career, before hyping the fact that these two will do battle for the second time tomorrow night…

The number one contender for the ROH Womens Championship, Thunder Rosa was interviewed in the back. Rosa admitted she’d had a somewhat lean period after injury and what not, but she can feel inside the ring, she’s back to her absolute best. “Athena felt it too. That’s why she’s been running scared, avoiding me in tag matches, trying to prevent me from becoming number one contender, but she failed. And she will fail again at Supercard Of Honor.” Rosa declared she would be the new ROH Womens Champion when ROH Womens Champion Athena appeared out of nowhere. Keeping her cool, Athena disagreed, telling Thunder, “I’ve held this title for years, you’re just a flavour of the month. After Supercard of Honor, just like they have for the last two years, when you’ve disappeared again because your body can’t hack it and you’ve got all these injuries, all the fans out there are going to be left asking Thunder Who”? Rosa thought about attacking Athena but thought better of it, with Athena laughing and then walking away, stating, “don’t slip on a banana peel on the way out of the arena tonight. I don’t want my match to get cancelled”. Athena continued to laugh her way out of shot, leaving Rosa furious…

Deonna Purrazzo defeated Rachael Ellering in a Pure Rules Match. After six minutes, Ellering hadn’t even used all her three rope breaks, however Deonna locked in the Venus De Milo, and it was physically impossible for Ellering to get a rope break. She simply verbally submitted, this result continuing to enforce that Purrazzo will be one of the favourites when the Women’s Pure Tournament finally commenced…

ROH Television Champion ‘Shotty’ Lee Johnson was interviewed in the back and asked about his Triple Threat title defence tomorrow night against Christian Cage and Nick Wayne. Johnson was open and honest, talking about how he hasn’t held the TV Title very long. The idea his first PPV title defence could result in him losing the title without being pinned worried him. “But I’ll get through it. I know I’m going to take my lumps; I’m certain Christian and Wayne will team together and punish me… I also know when push comes to shove, they’re both glory hogs and when it comes to who gets the pin to become champ, they won’t be able to get along”. Johnson said he was ready to go through the hard times to get to the point in the match where their greed will open up his opportunities, and he’ll do all he can to walk out still Television Champion…

Straight from that interview, we headed to a locker room where both Christian Cage and Nick Wayne had watched on a TV monitor. They both attempted to scoff and laugh it off, but there was an awkward tension building between the superficial attempts to portray that everything was fine…

Right before the main event, our commentary team took the opportunity to discuss some freshly announced matches for Supercard Of Honor tomorrow night. Hechicero would go one on one with Moscara Dorado, who was still furious with The Don Callis Family costing him a chance at the ROH World Championship. Dalton Castle has managed to recruit Willie Mack, and they will face The Premier Athletes in their first match as a team. After her success earlier night, Deonna Purrazzo has put out a Pure Rules Open Challenge, which has already been accepted by Lady Frost. After Adam Priest made the challenge earlier tonight, Jay Lethal has accepted the proposal for a match. Finally, in a bonus exhibition match, it will be Blake Christian versus Tomohiro Ishii…
