I'll buy this even though I think the original and its remasters are still incredibly playable.

I hope A Link to the Past gets one next.

Not only because it's my personal favorite, but as a top-down game it would actually change the gameplay to get a 3D remake.

the OG and 3DS remake are still good. But this will be a massive visual upgrade where the OOT remakes were not upgrades just 3D'd (and they'll likely further fix the Water Temple so you don't have to pause every 10 seconds and change boots).

Of all the remakes this is easily the 2nd biggest visual enhancement behind Links awakening. Also the 2nd longest time between OG and remake. 28 years between games. Links Awakening was 29.

Link to the Past getting a 3D remake would be sick. But they did get one better, a sequel game in Link Between Worlds.

I wish they'd remake Zelda 1. Especially this year since it's 40. Hell a Zelda 2 Remake would be sick too.

Similarly, this is the 2nd N64 game getting a remake this year with Star Fox 64 being remade and releasing in a couple weeks.

Kinda holding out hope for a Mario 64 remake.

I get that. I would hope they'd go full 3D. Also I don't feel like that game deserves the adorable Links Awakening/Echoes of Wisdom art style.

I’m aware it probably won’t but that’s what I’m saying though. I think it should. Because a 3-D remake of A Link to the past would actually offer something more beneficial because I don’t think this game is unplayable. I go back and replay the remasters all the time. I can still play ALTTP as well, but it’s far more outdated than this one.

Links Awakening is more... childlike? I love it it's adorable but doesn't fit LTTP.

With the originals still being so accessible I think that gives so much freedom to do a mass remake like that where it's actually a different (but hopefully still good) version of the older story. Like my main issues with remakes are when they're of games I can't easily play the old version of and then they're so different it doesn't satisfy the itch I wanted lol but not the case at all with Zelda

the main thing with Remakes (especially Nintendo) is that they have a quality control where they'll just cancel something if it doesn't meet standards.

So making such a major remake is a big undertaking and a massive risk that Nintendo is unlikely to keep with if it doesn't come out good.

there's no rules or anything to this but the last like 3 nintendo remakes (Super Mario RPG, Links awakening, Star Fox) are the exact game just newer visuals so i would guess that's what this will be.

This is also one of the most loved games of all time so it's up in the air what they will want to do.

For this one I would just update visuals and controls for certain parts yeah, I was more talking about the hypothetical 2D zelda remakes lol
