At Backlash John Cena announced a tournament, involving both main roster and NXT, with elements of fan voting and a special belt at the end.

Very little else is known at the moment.

Lance Storm points out potentially glaring issue with The John Cena Classic format

John Cena recently revealed that The John Cena Classic Championship will be making its way to WWE programming in the near future, with a unique format featuring matches with main roster and NXT stars.

And now that we're out of the OP I can post this clip of Lance Storm openly calling on main roster guys to eat up and bury the NXT guys so they don't lose the fan vote and therefore their jobs

"Calling on them to do so" is a strange way to interpret the point he was trying to convey, not that it was that novel of a thought anyways. This sounds like a pretty weak concept, kind of a mishmash of the World's Collide Tournament and UFC's BMF Championship.
