Heim looked great. Thought he was gonna pull it off. He and Allgaier are locked into the field based on qualifying times. Means I don’t have to sweat the duels like I did last year.

Posting abut the duels here since it directly connects to the 500 obviously.

Duel 1 had wrecks, Duel 2 was much more cleaner but had unorganized pit stops. Logano and Elliott winning the duels. Awesome that Casey Mears will be in the 500. Sucked seeing Zilisch pitting on his own there toward the last part of the race but that 88 looked good being in the lead for a moment!

I watched the duels this morning because I was away yesterday evening.... and so it's still fresh in my mind when Alfredo got emotional when he thought that he made it in to the 500. He said that the black cloud of not getting in at last years 500 was now lifted. So I imagine now that the news of him being DQ'd really hurt him. Has to suck for him a lot.
