My favorite so far is Dan Carlin's hardcore history starts rough but turns into these super long for stories. And he jumps around from ancient to modern which I like, not really interested in getting too granular yet, maybe only with more ancient stuff bc the unknown fascinates me
their fall of the aztecs series was greati kinda stumbled into an interest in history from following an absolute muppet as well because i didnt know any better, watched that ancient apocalypse on netflix and i was like huh this stuff is really interesting, then saw he'd had a debate with an archeologist on rogan's podcast so listened to that and seen him get absolutely fucking obliterated by this dude
but then the interest just carried over. I also find the ancient stuff by far the most interesting
