Looking at the TNA roster now, I don't think they have made very good 'trades' the past year or two.

Let's see we've gotten the likes of

Abdul Bashir (I like him as a wrestler but his gimmick needs to be changed)
Cody Deaner
Dr. Stevie
Jethro Holliday
Jesse Neal (Please cut his hair...or burn it)
Kiyoshi (He doesn't do shit... They hype him up, and then don't do anything with him...)
Rob Terry (He doesn't do shit and never got hyped...)
Lacey Von Erich

And we've lost guys like;

Petey Williams
Johnny Rave
Lance Rock(Hoyt) (Just to bring back the tag team)
Johnny Devine
Sonjya Dutt
Senshi
Elix Skipper

I'll admit that TNA have got rid of some valuable pieces of talent, you're right about most of them, but I think you're also wrong but also right on some with the listed names of talent that you don't seem to particularly like.

TBH, I have to 100% disagree with you on the Sheik. This guy has been brilliant all year in the ring, and as far as I have read, gets really good heat at the TNA live events and even at the IMPACT! Tapings, one of the best signings that TNA have done in the past year or so. Kiyoshi can be talented at times, I just feel TNA don't usually show his full potential and I also like him in the World Elite group, but he could be used much more plus he honestly needs to change his appearance a little. I'm currently liking the Dr. Stevie character, I've loved it since the Abyss/Stevie promos first started airing. His character is being used correctly at this moment of time, and I hope that TNA don't screw it up but I keep asking myself 'what are they going to do with him after Abyss?', after all he has been added as the special guest referee in the Foley/Abyss match at BFG, making me wonder if they'll continue the feud in a way, I just don't know, I'll just have to wait and see.

I agree with you on the rest of the talent though, Jesse Neal, Rob Terry, Lacey (due to her attitude), and Cody Deaner really need to be released, likely Jethro too, but I'd definitely like to see the Cade/Murdoch team again, if Cade was hired that is. Petey Williams release was absolutely disgraceful, such a waste of pure talent right there, as was Jimmy Rave, Johnny Devine, and Sonjay Dutt (although I never particularly liked his character during the Jay Lethal feud). Senshi chose to leave so that wasn't really TNA's fault, although I don't really blame TNA for releasing Elix Skipper, he was just losing it TBH.

First off let me rephrase my first topic, those list of guys aren't really ones I just don't like, but ones that I consider a bad replacement for who TNA lost.

Actually I said that I liked Bashir as a wrestler, liked him when he was in WWE too, I just don't like his current gimmick. He was fine as the "America screwed me" deal, which is what I expected him to be since that's his stereotype, but here lately it's been nothing but jobbing him out and when he is on the mic he's just complaining. Not complaining as in a heel way, but more sounding like a little baby throwing a fit.

Kiyoshi in Japan really was/is a good wrestler, I just don't see the point in him being in TNA right now. He did a few matches with No Limit but besides that he just follows Bashir around in his black suit. Granted I also like him in World Elite and I think he fits the group perfectly, I just wish they'd actually do something with him instead of being a beat down jobber with Bashir.

Being an original ECW fan, I was somewhat excited to hear that Stevie Richards was coming to TNA, and I've liked his part to an extent, I'm like you I don't see what they're going to do with him after the fued has run it's course...most likely multiple times... Plus I much rather have The Monster Abyss instead of the Psychiatric Patient Abyss.

They were originally going to bring Cade in with Murdoch, but Cade had already made arrangements with a Japan federation HUSTLE. I'm guessing he's still there since I believe TNA still wants him to team with Murdoch.

I agree with you about Dutt too, I really liked his original Playa from tha Himalya gimmick and think they really screwed him over with the guru gimmick..
I was somewhat iffy about putting Skipper on the list, he was a great wrestler but his last run in TNA was kinda stale. Still better than Deaner and Neal so I added him.

I also forgot to add Matt Bently to the list. I really like him as Micheal Shane and was disappointed that he was released from his WWE contract. Which still somewhat surprises me since he's Shawn Michael's cousin, I thought he would try to pull some strings for him to at least get a shot on ECW or something.

I'll start by saying, i don't have a problem with any of the guys they released. It's simple business. Those guys were adding to the program, and not bringing in money. Yes, they released some good wrestlers, HOWEVER i think it's more important to keep your roster fresh. As much as i like Rock n Rave they didnt do anything in TNA. Petey and Sonjay simply got old, and they needed someone fresh.

The main problem I have with your arguement is that you forgot some of the BIGGEST names TNA has brought in the past 1-2 years. I'm not sure if you purposely left them off or what, but what about...

and guys like Kip James, BG James, Shark boy don't wrestle anymore. Talks of Mr. Kennedy being brought in, Colt Cabana wrestling a dark match. Not sure who you thought TNA should have brought in.


So really i think they've done a fine job with their roster the last few years, keeping in mind they couldn't raid ROH for talent anymore.

Yes they got rid of some good names, but saying they got rid of them and only added in guys that don't do anything is crazy.

I actually agreed with them releasing Petey. Sure he was a talent, but i can see what TNA meant by getting rid of the wrestler's who weren't as useful as they used to be. Guys like Petey, Dutt, around since the early times, they had 6-7 years to leave a big mark on an up and coming promotion and quite frankly, they didn't do the job.

I did leave the better names off on purpose, main point I was trying to, but obviously poorly, get across was that they got rid of some really good midcarders and brought in some really bad lower cards. Deaner and Neal's spots could of easily went back to Williams and Dutt and I guarantee they could of been better used and more popular with TNA fans.

I'm not saying TNA didn't bring some good names in, I'm saying they released to many good names and replaced them with bad ones.

As far as Williams and others needing to be released, you can't completely put all the blame on them saying that they were useless or didn't leave a mark. Many wrestlers can only get as big as their company lets them. WWE is a great example of great wrestlers going no where before of the creative team.

Good point Double J. In ever promotion great talent is put to waste. think of it like this: Let these guys like Petey and Dutt released so that they can avoid jobbing for new WWE alumni coming in out the woodwork.Instead, let them wrestle to their fullest potential elsewhere
