Smart phone question

For some reason my phone sometimes makes no noise when I get a text, and others it makes the normal message tone sound. Other times it does like half a tune -- as if it's been cut off by something. It's quite annoying as I often forget I'm texting someone as I'm busy a lot and until I look down I don't know I've received one.

I'm presuming I'm just missing a setting or something, but anyone had any issue similar? I googled and nothing came up.

It is the S3 you have, isn't it? Something similar to this could be the problem.

Thanks to both Seabs and Heather, I think this is fixed now.

Oh wait, no it's not, it's just vibrating now -.-

Another update: Now it vibrated and played HALF of my message tone. Wtf

Hi there pull down the status bar (from top of your phone) and enable Notifications (green light) then it should work i did it with my s3, and then it worked fine

The smiley faces are copied from some fag btw.

Turned out it was because I had delete old messages enabled. It's fixed now. Stfu Xabth you fat idiot.
