An alleged stabbing took place following the main event of Ruthless Pro Wrestling's OMEGA event on Saturday, March 28 at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, Illinois.

The event saw SHLAK defend the RPW Rustbelt Deathmatch World Championship in a Last Man Standing Match against Krule, who performs for MLW as Mads Krule Krügger.

After the show was over, it was claimed on social media that a fan in attendance at the event stabbed Krule, with a video filmed by TJ DeHaan shared on Facebook by deathmatch wrestler Lou Nixon showing several wrestlers then punching a man, who was the alleged attacker, before the individual eventually exited the building.

Speaking exclusively to Cultaholic Wrestling, Lou Nixon claimed that Krule and the individual who allegedly attacked him had issues throughout the night.

"At the start of the show, I was speaking to Krule. Krule told me that the guy went up to the merch stand at the start of the show, started asking Krule how much all his [merchandise] was, and then went, 'I'm not f*cking paying that,' and then walked away," Nixon said.

"This guy was front row during Krule's entrance now. He's like a big monster. He walks around, the guy stepped out the front row and stepped in front of Krule on his entrance and, like, squared up to him. Krule obviously didn't break character and made him look silly, and then during the match I think, like, the guy got knocked out of his seat," Nixon continued.

"The video that you see happens after the show. Now, currently, the guy's went up to Krule's merch table at the end of the show and squared up to him and started going, 'Let's f*cking go then, let's f*cking go,' and then tackled him. In the tackle, that's when he must have shanked him because Krule didn't realise he got stabbed until after."

Mickie Knuckles, another pro wrestler who worked the RPW show, also claimed to Cultaholic that Krule and the fan who allegedly attacked him were staring each other down at the merch table when the fan suddenly tackled Krule across the table.

"It was after the main event. After the show, Krule, SHLAK, and Lou Nixon were out at their gimmick table selling merch, and this fan came up and was just staring down Krule…and so Krule just stared right back at him. Next thing you know, the fan tackled Krule through the table…and while he had him on the ground, he stabbed him in the lower right quadrant of his abdomen. At that point, the boys saw he had a knife, so they just started lighting him up. They didn't want to take the chance of the motherf*cker stabbing them too. They pushed him towards the door. Somebody Spartan-kicked him down the stairs," Knuckles stated.

Krule has confirmed on X/Twitter on Sunday that he is "fine" following the alleged attack. Lou Nixon claimed to Cultaholic that the former MLW World Heavyweight Champion didn't even realise he had been allegedly stabbed until he was sitting at the bar following the incident, at which point he was "patched up." Krule did not have to visit the local hospital, and he was able to get on his scheduled flight.

Mickie Knuckles noted that local police were already in attendance at the show, and the individual who shouted "Don't kill him!" during the video of several wrestlers attacking the fan was actually a police officer. It is unknown if any arrests have been made following the incident.

"The cops were already there. They had gotten called because somebody, a fan I guess, got hit with a piece of flying debris earlier in the night. So the building wanted to take precautions and call for services. So the cops came to make sure they didn't need medical attention. So the cops were already there. In the video, when somebody says, 'Don't kill him!' that was the cop saying that. The cop even saw the knife, so the guy's really lucky that he didn't go after one of the cops with their guns or somebody else that had been packing. I mean, he stabbed Krule, the biggest, scariest guy in the room…and that guy just stabbed him!" Knuckles added.

Contrary to the claims already detailed in this article, however, an anonymous source who was also at the Ruthless Pro Wrestling show noted that while Krule was attacked, they don't think there was a stabbing. The source instead believes the stabbing story was invented as a way to "save face and to not look bad on the internet."

"I was standing near the merch table where the incident ended up with Krule and the fan. I think what happened was that the fan got rambunctious, and I don't know who started it necessarily, but I know that the fan was attacking Krule. I think the other wrestlers saw this, and they used it as a reason to attack this fan. I don't believe that there was a knife in play. I never saw a knife, I never saw a stabbing, and I don't believe that any of the wrestlers saw a knife. I really genuinely think that they wanted to help their friend," the source said.

"In wrestling, it's notoriously a thing that when a fan attacks a wrestler, it becomes essentially, at one point in time in wrestling, legalised brutality, right? I don't think that's the case anymore. I think after the incident happened and they let the guy walk away, I think they quickly realised that they needed a story to save face and to not look bad on the internet. And this is where the stabbing story comes from. I don't think it actually occurred. No one tried to disarm this guy. And if they did, you don't see that in the video. And the guy was just allowed to walk out of the building. Why hasn't there been a police report? Why wasn't this guy arrested? There are a lot of questions about it, for sure."

It has been claimed on YouTube by Lou Nixon that the perpetrator of the alleged attack is connected to the Deathmatch Elite 2.0 Facebook group. The name of the alleged attacker has been shared on social media, but we will not be sharing their name here.

The Berwyn Eagles Club has now banned wrestling due to this incident and it also may have been FAKE

This was Brett Lauderdale's response to GCW having to reschedule a show:

This was directly caused by an incident (the fake stabbing) that took place at another promotions event which has caused the town, lawyers & police to be involved.

It's truly a shame to see the Berwyn Eagles and 20+ years of Chicago wrestling history come to an end like this.

Actually less hilarious than I thought if Brett is right (and he probably is, it fill in a lot of holes from the original story) bc it wasn't like a kayfabe stabbing that went too far and worked people...they lied about the fan attempting a stabbing so they wouldn't get in trouble for assaulting him

The Berwyn Police Department confirms that no stabbing occurred at the Ruthless Pro Wrestling event last month in Illinois.

An incident report was released to POST Wrestling after seeking records of the investigation by filing a Freedom of Information request.

The criminal investigations unit of the Berwyn Police Department investigated the March 28 incident at the Berwyn Eagles Club during a Ruthless Pro Wrestling show.

The day after, it was reported that a stabbing occurred with an allegation that a fan attacked and stabbed wrestler Krule / Mads Krule Krugger. The first video to emerge saw wrestlers and fans attacking the fan and removing him from the building. Subsequent clips revealed the fan approaching Krule at his merchandise table after the show, and Krule throwing the first punches before the fan was swarmed. The video did not show any sign of a weapon.

Wrestlers Mickie Knuckles and Lou Nixon told the Cultaholic site that the stabbing occurred, but an anonymous source in the same story denied the stabbing. Since then, wrestler Gregory Iron also shared his firsthand account, and he didn’t see a stabbing, nor did anyone mention that after the fan was ejected.

Promoter Brett Lauderdale, who booked Krule on a GCW event last weekend, called it a “fake stabbing” as well.

Detective William Massuci of the Berwyn PD was tasked with the investigation after being alerted to the Cultaholic article.

Massuci contacted a person referred to as the manager of Ruthless Pro Wrestling, whose name is redacted. The March 28 event was the last show under previous manager Chris Kohlenberg, as the promotion is now being run by Rickey Shane Page, SHLAK, and Dred.

The unnamed manager stated the fan was “causing problems early in the night” and was intoxicated and warned by management to calm down or would be removed.

The fan agreed to calm down but approached Krule after the show and started causing more issues. The manager states that “the fan ended up attacking his wrestler and tackled him to the ground. The fan continued to punch the wrestler several times. Then the rest of the wrestlers/employees came in to help and got the fan off of him and escorted the fan out of the business.”

This account differs from one video clip (embedded above), where it shows Krule throwing the first punches, followed by the fan tackling Krule by another set of tables across the hall.

The manager states that “[Redacted] was not stabbed” in reference to Krule, who isn’t listed by his real name or alias in the redacted version of the report released to us.

The manager said he observed “two or three police officers there and assumed he did not need to call 911”.

The wrestler (Krule) was contacted at the airport on his way home and told the detective that “Some guy was causing problems all night and came up to him at the end of the night and struck him several times and tackled him to the ground. His peers then got the fan off of him and took matters into their own hands.”

The Berwyn Police Department has closed the case, stating there was no stabbing and that the wrestler doesn’t want to pursue any criminal complaints.

The Berwyn Eagles Club has stated it will not host pro wrestling events after its April 24 show with AAW, citing issues with its license to promote shows. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by Jon Craft to raise $3,000 for “essential operating costs” to keep the Berwyn Eagle Club alive.
