WWE officials held a meeting yesterday concerning Rey Mysterio's recent actions and how he will be creatively handled on television.

As noted, there was much internal heat on Mysterio for his Spanish-language interview with The Record in Mexico over the weekend. He did not get the interview approved ahead of time, which is standard company protocol. There was talk that if they didn't punish him, fellow talent could follow suit and bury the company in the future. Back in the WCW days, talent would frequently bury the company without consequence. Unlike WCW, WWE prefers not opening themselves up to that, hence the need for interviews to be approved of.

Whether Mysterio thought he could do a Spanish-language interview to explain himself to fans and potential sponsors in Mexico without it ever reaching the United States remains unknown.

Regarding creative plans for Mysterio dropping the Intercontinental title at tomorrow night's SmackDown taping, Vince McMahon wanted all potential options evaluated. More than likely, it will not be as simple as Dolph Ziggler beating him in a singles match. In fact, because that is the "expected result," you should expect something different to take place on this week's show. However, it likely won't be different enough for it to result in Mysterio not dropping the title.

Mysterio is hopeful he can get his suspension overturned when he discusses the situation with management tomorrow.

WELL IT LOOKS LIKE.....BUT YOU NEVER KNOW!!! :smh at these "predictions"

Screw Rey Mysterio and his BS excuses

Get that bastard off TV and give the belt to Dolph already.

Actually, if Rey is telling the truth, it would be fair for the suspension to be reversed.

That being said, ok, keep him around, but if you had any doubts of taking the title from him or not, you shouldnt have any now

Rey said WWE didn't give him the regulated time to show he had prescription for what ever it was he had. In the Wellness Policy, it states that you have 72hrs, Rey wasn't given that time. If that was true, then he was wrongfully suspended.

I read another report about different ways that they are going to "punish" Rey. One thing was for Rey to lose mask, or get it taken off in a match or backstage segment.

If I find the report, I'll post the source.

Vince McMahon held a teleconference meeting over the weekend with Stephanie McMahon and the lead creative team writers. During this meeting, Vince made it very clear that he was not happy with the comments made by Rey Mysterio to the Mexican media regarding his 30 day suspension from the company that he called "unjust." The buzz backstage at last night's Raw taping in Detroit was that Vince was considering the idea of sending a very strong and stern message via the way he writes Mysterio off TV at the Smackdown tapings tonight. Many scenarios reportedly have been discussed for tonight to air on Friday regarding Mysterio's exit, for now, from WWE. One WWE source added, "Right now it's looking like either a quick smash up or a more humiliating exit.

Dolph should have won the title already IMO, sucks he has to win it by default.

I don't buy this. I say he'll just get the shit beaten out of him, maybe even have Maria smack him, but WWE would be incredibly stupid to have him lose his mask or something amongst those lines.

first off, although there may be some humiliation on Rey on the way out, they wouldn't punish him by having him take off the mask. Even as a curtain jerker Rey Mysterio masks will sell huge to the kids much like the Cena merchandise.

next its Rey's story that he wasn't given the proper time. In my opinion that sounds like BS. Why would the WWE not give him proper time? He's one of there top stars, better selling merchandise stars, and if he tells them "hey I got a prescription", surely they would give him the benefit of the doubt and give him an extra day or two to provide it so that they could avoid this embaressment. WWE wouldn't want to suspend him if they don't have to so I find it hard to believe Rey's story.

^Saved my some typing there.

I honestly think if it would come down to Rey losing the mask he'd probably be waiting for his no compete clause to end so he could work for TNA. I highly doubt we're gonna see that happening. I'm going for either a squash match or a post-match beat down.

According to the Torch.....

WWE has arrived at a tough spot. Based on what we know from what Rey Mysterio has said, Mysterio appears to have been wronged by WWE and WWE's Wellness Policy run by Dr. David Black.

Mysterio says that on Wednesday, he was informed he was facing possible suspension the next day for a raised testosterone level on a recent drug test. According to WWE's Wellness Policy, wrestlers have three days to provide a valid prescription for a substance that shows up on the results.

Another Torch report...

WWE wrestler Rey Mysterio claims he was only given one day notice to come up with a valid prescription to excuse a positive drug test or face a 30-day suspension. According to WWE's Wellness Policy, wrestlers have up to 72 hours (three days) to provide a valid prescription after being informed of a violation.

Mysterio claims he was initially informed of a Wellness Policy violation on Wednesday. He says was told he had until Thursday to provide the valid prescription from his doctor.

And then the actual context from the Wellness policy itself....

Section 13: "It shall be the responsibility of WWE Talent to provide, if not already provided, to the Medical Director, within seventy two (72) hours of notification of a positive test, suitable proof that the substance in question has been taken pursuant to a valid prescription for a legitimate medical purpose given by a licensed and treating physician, and to provide in accordance with the terms of this Policy, copies of the prescription and the name, address and telephone number of the prescribing physician along with a copy of the prescription providing the dosage and duration instructions for proper use."

So if Rey is telling the truth, then WWE is indeed in the wrong. And if that's the case then Rey was wrongfully suspended.

Eh, I'm sorry but I can't see them risking a lawsuit or something like that. I'm sure there is something Rey isn't saying.

Did you see what I posted before? They made his suspension the headline on WWE.com. They've never done that before so he must have pissed them off pretty bad for them to embarass him like that.

I think we all realize that its WWE Wellness Policy, I just don't beleive Rey Mysterio. I doubt that the WWE would have given him only one day for a top selling star. I'm willing to bet money that most wrestlers get more then the 72 hours because the WWE does not want to have to suspend a top talent....likewise there was no way the WWE would have wanted to suspend Rey Mysterio he was the IC Champion after all.

To me this could be the end of Rey in WWE. Seems kinda familuar to the Booker T. situation. Certain people just believe that the rules shouldn't apply to them.
