Dude that Christmas Special had me in tears. Trying to explain to someone why are crying and not continuing to cry is hard to do for me. Two Doctors accepting their fates and their lives to come was so beautifully executed while also allowing the Doctor to say goodbye to Bill in the right damn way.
I didn't want to spoil it but that was easily the best written episode of Capaldi's run. And maybe even Moffats run as Showrunner.

Yeah I had no negatives with it at all. I laughed my ass off when Bill was wondering as well as the Capaldi's Doctor where was Heather because clearly that Storyline didn't sit well with people back then and they axed that stuff. She could still come back in the future if she decides to be human.

I'm at a Fork in the road now where to go next with Doctor Who. Do I go into the original run which I'll have no problem finding all those Episodes I already have some of the Episodes or do I go into the Classic era with the Fourth onward?

I had to look up what competitive tender means in terms of a Show and it means meaning new production partners will be invited to bid for the chance to help shape the show's next era. I figured the Christmas Special was a no go with no news on that lately but Davies out again now we are in the Shadow Realm again.

yeah, I fully anticipate the show not being around for a few years.

Not entirely surprised by the lack of a Christmas Special, I was kinda hoping they'd do it just to write off the series for a while.

Really, Doctor Who should be laid to rest for a long time. There's a reason it ran itself out after 25 years the original run. Now we've reached 21 years in the current era. Doctor Who needs to go on hiatus for periods, if not indefinitely.

I'll make a Prediction Doctor Who if they find a new person to take over as Showrunner and Disney/AMC put them on I can see it gone for maybe 3 or 4 Years. It kinda needs it when I started my journey with it felt new to me and maybe three or four years you might be able to do a major reboot like with the 9th Doctor and off to the Races we go.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, they need to do the serial system again, rather than make it a mini-series every year. Have the Doctor just go on mild adventures where the stakes aren't so serious or world-bending, lower the budget and save the big overarching story until the final season, then run it like you would now. That way you have proper foreshadowing of the Doctor's end of tenure. Then you can go back to lighthearted silly bullocks for a while.

Case and point:

War Games into Spearhead in Space, Keeper of Trakken/Logopolis into Castrovalva, etc. Etc.
