No pairing of WWE NXT Pros and Rookies has garnered more scrutiny than Daniel Bryan and his allocated mentor, The Miz. In a blog post on the WWE Universe website, the United States Champion responds to those online saying he's not fit to teach a wrestler of Bryan's caliber.

In its entirety, here is what The Miz wrote:

Mentoring Daniel Bryan on WWE NXT

There has been a lot of controversy this week about me mentoring Daniel Bryan on WWE's new show, WWE NXT.

I've read a lot of interviews, blogs, ect. about the matter and they all seem to be asking the same thing. "Why is The Miz mentoring Daniel Bryan when Daniel Bryan has wrestled all over the world for 10 years plus?"

It's come to my knowledge that some members of the WWE Universe think they know everything about WWE and what it takes to be a WWE Superstar. They think that if a guy does well in the independent minor leagues, then all of a sudden he should be in the WWE.

They think that if a guy can main event in front of a hundred people at a bingo hall, then he's ready to main event at WrestleMania. Just because fans on the Internet say you're ready doesn't mean you really are.

Just because a fat guy with no teeth who sits in the front row, buys your T-shirt and says you're the king of wrestling, doesn't mean you really are.

What the WWE Universe doesn't understand is there is so much more then I can describe in a single blog involved in being successful in the WWE.

My job is to make Daniel Bryan a star in the WWE, because let's face it, if you look at a picture of him right now, do you think STAR?

No, Daniel Bryan looks like my accountant ... ordinary and bland.

Maybe if he had The Miz's charisma and look, he would have been in the WWE by now. Don't hate on me because it didn't take me a decade to get a WWE contract and go down in WWE history to be the first Superstar to win the United States Title and Unified Tag Team Titles.

Don't get me wrong, Daniel Bryan has all the talent in the world, but every wrestler has weaknesses. And that's what my job is, to find his weakness and make him the biggest star possible.

I just hope Daniel Bryan doesn't believe himself what these ignorant members of the WWE Universe believe about him, or WWE NXT is going to be a nightmare for him.

MIZ

Eh should be interesting, I still think Regal would of been a better choice.

Miz speaks with the truth. He remained in character in this blog but he mainly spoke the truth. Danielson has no claim whatsover over The Miz if you look at their WWE chances and profile.

Pairing Bryan with Regal would have made nobody care about Bryan from the get go. Daniel Bryan being with the Miz has the chance of making him the most over heel in the entire competition

They should have paired Danielson with Punk imo, would have instantly boosted his WWE career, Miz isn't a bad choice though.

I agree, Danielson is nowhere near STAR status right now and the pairing with Miz could help that.

Daniel bryan and Y2J would of been a Great pairing.

what miz can do for The American Dragon is gain him Charmsia and more Marketable look.

But that's all Danielson really needs.

Miz is 100% right. Danielson is a fantastic wrestler but you need more than that to be succesful in the WWE. That's where Miz comes in and can help achieve stardom. Miz isn't a fantastic wrestler but he is still pretty good but he is great on the mic and can get the fans behind him and thats what he is going to do for Danielson. If he got paired with Regal the fans wouldn't have any interest in him, but with The Miz he can get plenty of mic time and can either become a heel type protege or he takes to much shit from Miz and decides to kick his ass. Either way, this looks like it will be a lot of fun and very interesting.

I love Miz even more now. Seriously, fuck Danielson. This little promo exudes more charisma that I've even seen from anything I've watched with Danielson in it. The guy is just about the most boring and over rated thing I have ever seen put on a pedestal by the IWC. You know what would happen if he walked into a WWE ring at this point? Fuckin dead air for people wondering how some jobber looking guy with generic tights and no charisma got theme music. Aside from maybe a handful of people in the crowd who would be chanting for him no one would give a shit.
The Miz seriously is awesome.
And to take it a step further... I prefer what I've seen of Miz in the ring to what I've seen of Danielson..Bryan..whatever.

Have you see the dark match he had against Chavo Guerrero. Clearly there was a reaction for him; one stronger than the likes of Chris Masters and Primo Colon get at least. So, there goes that point of yours.

As for his charisma, it must be something that goes over your head, because just about everybody else sees it. His charisma isn't the sort of "HEY LOOK AT ME I CAN BE LOUD" like the Miz. It's very subtle, very Jim Halpert-like. He's just a likable guy when he talks, and so he can draw you in to caring about what he does.

Yeah I saw it, and it didn't sound all that instense of a reaction to me, sounded like regular crowd noise. They were filming the thing with a camcorder, of course it's going to sound loud. And I would hope the guy people hype up to be the best wrestler in the world would get a slightly better reaction than fucking Primo Colon or Chris Masters' tits.

And it doesn't go over my head, I just don't see what's so special about him. Miz's charisma doesn't rest in his ability to just be loud, he just puts forth a great entertaining personality. Kennedy is loud too, and he's awful...being loud doesn't mean anything.
LOL @ comparing him to Jim. I'm a huge Office fan and perhaps if I saw something Jim Halpert'esque in Danielson I'd find him a bit more enjoyable... but I don't.

Just like you've said you don't like Sheamus or Drew and no one can convince you otherwise... I don't care for Danielson.

Danielson would impress me if his character was more Dwight Schrute than Jim Halpert.

People seem to forget that Miz used to be a reality star so he is the best choice to be a mentor.

When I think of Daniel Bryan (I have to start getting used to writing that), I think of Bob Backlund. IF and only IF Miz works miracles, we could be on the verge of Bob Backlund + Roddy Piper
