LMFAO! This is so great! Dude, what do you think Zero Day is? It's an exploit in explorer that can allow hackers to gain access to your PC and infect the mad shit out of it, or just wipe you C drive in general.

"0-day (zero-day): The term 0-day exploit describes an exploit that is not publicly known. It describe tools by elite hackers who have discovered a new bug and shared it only with close friends. [...]"

I want your apology via post.

A zero-day (or zero-hour or day zero) attack or threat is an attack that exploits a previously unknown vulnerability in a computer application, meaning that the attack occurs on "day zero" of awareness of the vulnerability.[1] This means that the developers have had zero days to address and patch the vulnerability. Zero-day exploits (actual software that uses a security hole to carry out an attack) are used or shared by attackers before the developer of the target software knows about the vulnerability.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero-day_attack

A zero-day exploit is one that takes advantage of a security vulnerability on the same day that the vulnerability becomes generally known. There are zero days between the time the vulnerability is discovered and the first attack.

How do they hack though?

Through exploits in IE.. bugs that were never fixed. Microsoft claims that these bugs are extenuating to find, and only elite hackers who have no life, could find them pretty much.

Ah okay, so the chance of been hacked is pretty slim I suppose?

Dude, you're owning yourself. These exploits were there since day 1.. hence it being a zero day exploit. Doesn't mean they have to be discovered on day 1. Also, last time I checked, Internet Explorer is an application. :pity:

No, not necessarily. Depends on what sites you go to. If you were web surfing and just clicked on the wrong link, boom, you could be infected.

OMG this is actually cringe worthy. Dude, please stop talking about stuff you know nothing about. Zero-Day is just a term hackers use when they find exploits and don't share them. That's it. There's been deadly scripts made and shared between small groups, like UGNazi, Lulzsec and even smaller groups within Anonymous. That's it...

You're making it sound like it's JUST this exploit within IE. No, it's AN exploit within IE that hackers have found and not shared, that's why that article is made WARNING users instead of FIXING it.

If you use IE you deserve to get hacked and your CPU should be filled with viruses because you are a moron.

This.

To clarify for Lacky though, it's not as easy as vistiing a link and bam you're infected like MVP is saying. There's such things as "Java drive bys" where they make a page and if you AGREE to run the Java they have on that page you will be infected. The main culprits are just infected .exe's which you have to DOWNLOAD. Moral of the story, don't download stupid things or agree to fishy Java.

I haven't had a virus since I was like 10 and I've not used an anti-virus for 3 years or so.
