So basically it's a question of which version of his announcing style do you prefer? It comes down to a matter of era. Jim Ross began as a fresh-faced and very high pitched announcer in the early 80s working for Bill Watts and Mid-South Wrestling. In 1993, he suffered a debilitating attack of Bells-Palsy that forever changed his voice into the one that most people here will recognize as the longest tenured one of his career, his World Wrestling Federation / Entertainment voice. Going into the late 2000s and the 2010s, Jim Ross's voice slowed down, he became much more methodical in his commentating, and he became a special announcer of sorts before moving onto AEW.
So the question is, which one is your preference, or what do you appreciate about each era of Jim Ross's announcing?
