Native speakers always have worse grammar than people that learn as a second language tho, I remember all the Spanish speakers were terrible at Spanish in school bc it wasn't the way they talked at home lol

Double negatives like that are probably the most common grammar error just accepted at this point bc everyone knows what you mean and at this point the proper phrasing sounds more awkward

I think also a thing that kind of "changed the game" was chat rooms and social media. before that there was spoken english and written english (same with every other language_

like as a French speaker I am almost certain some tenses and conjugations are just gonna straight up die over time

When I learned Spanish there was a conjugation we didn't even learn bc it's only used in Spain and central and South American speakers already did away with it
