The song was released on WWE Wreckless Intent, a 2006 compilation album. As far as I know that was the first (and maybe only) release of the song.

WWE likely paid for the rights in perpetuity. Considering Killswitch Engage in 2005/6 was hardly a global sensation it probably wasn't too expensive either. I know TK has said he's done the same thing for some of the other licensed music AEW has (Jungle Boy, Orange Cassidy)

Similarly Edge has used Metalingus by Alter Bridge for 20 years because Mark Tremonti (guitarist for the band who wrote the song) gifted it to him to use forever. Both parties benefitted greatly as it is their most popular track and gives them weekly play for 20 years.

yeah exposure certainly a big part of why Killswitch likely gave up the rights cheaper than a song that was already established like Cult in a more popular genre. Killswitch is pretty hard music, not mainstream imo
