I think fans nowadays, in AEW for sure but I think across the board, have evolved to where they'll boo heels, even if they like them, just out of respect for their work

In the past I feel there would be an attitude of like "I'm not gonna boo Swerve, he's one of the coolest wrestlers they have" or really more like "I'm gonna cheer Swerve to spite them" but now it's like yeah, I love Swerve, so if he's playing a heel, I'm gonna give him the heat he wants

Or probably more often they'd cheer a heel because they'd think it makes them look cool, but either way, I think nowadays the fans allow themselves to become part of the work more easily
