I think the 2K5 game is the one I had. My dad i guess saw it and saw it was 19.99 so we went to get it.

that's why i figured they'd just remove it for more space

Really they just need to add some business management aspects to universe mode and they'll have a great GM mode. Make them toggleable for the people that want a classic universe sandbox

like i get they wanted to make it a challenge, but like you had to pair people up against the right types and face/heel. like you could take two people who you KNOW have had a good match but if their types don't match up, the match could be ass in the game and it's just dumb.
