I think latin was still used as the main written language by both the French and the English for a bit after 1066 tho but from what I can tell it didn't really ever seep into verbal language, it was just for the elites to use like their secret code

not really, the French words came from latin and are similar but then the English used those versions

we use a lot of Latin phrases in legal, but the terms like justice jury court judge or all French.
