Oh that goes way back... a Ratskeller is literally a restaurant, bar in the basement of the town hall and they go back to like the 1200s... during the Hanseatic League period they were basically the locale where all the patricians and traders and that went to eat.Santa Hoss said:I went like 6 years ago lmao. The Ratskeller in Lübeck is one of the oldest in northern Germany, with parts dating from the Romanesque era. The earliest documented use for wine storage dates from circa 1220.
