This is 100% not the pedestal to stand on however..... This is one of my biggest pet peeves about the way Kanye has always been treated by the rap community. Rappers have murdered, raped, abused. While Kanye certainly is an absolute fucking moron and goes thru baffling manic episodes in front of the public eye, so many rappers / artists who are still celebrated have done tremendously far worse things

While spewing rhetoric of a regime that killed millions of people is inherently a god awful thing to do, I still think actually murdering someone is for sure far worse

Idk maybe it's some sort of parasocial connection, but I will always be a fan of Kanye. He has been dragged through the coals in so many ways both personally and professionally. He obviously suffers from severe BPD / bi polar disorders that consistently gets taken advantage of by the wrong fucking people (see the Dr who was intentionally getting Kanye hooked on nitrous). If you break down the events of his life.... nearly dying in an accident right before he blew up into superstardom, his mom tragically dying during a routine cosmetic surgery, close personal friends backstabbing him (virgil), and couple that with his mental health it's no wonder he has ended up this way. I know deep down he is not the guy he is currently portraying. I just wish Donda was around to set him straight

@Brett I'm with you on Kanye pretty much. There has always been character flaws and stretches of behavior I wouldn't defend. Recently, sadly, it's become nothing but bad behavior, but it's clearly linked to mental health. So while I've fallen off pretty much completely being a fan of him as a person, and his recent music sucks because of course it does, I think comparing him to people who have done actual evil shit is pretty wild. And the music is the music. Every album through TLOP is still a classic. He's got the best discography in hip hop history I believe.
