Their WWE series had some unsatisfying booking (of course) but the matches were actually quite good in retrospect

I remember mostly just being annoyed bc Joe lost like 9 times in a row to him but they did good work otherwise lol

Yeah. And it came right after the Shinsuke series so it was just back to back feuds where AJ was facing these dudes multiple times and either winning or retaining via fuckery, and fans would have appreciated at least getting one of Joe or Nakamura as champ, but ultimately got neither

I noticed Vince would go into that pattern a lot when booking the secondary show world champion, usually smackdown. Like the feuds would go on forever as if they were back and forth but the champ would just win every match bc they didn't feel like throwing in another challenger lol

Sheamus fought Alberto so many times in 2012 lol

At least Christian got the one month WHC reign when he won the belt by DQ in 2011
