wall outlets in most houses have surge protection now anyway I think so probably not

I only ask because like the router was plugged into the surge protector that's plugged into the same wall outlet and it still has power.

Google says they say no surge protectors usually bc people have shitty ones and it causes internet fluctuations that they call and complain about and companies hate that bc it's not their fault its the surge protectors lol so you can probably plug the new one into the surge protector and just be aware of you have issues you might need to switch back to the wall
