You should play in window mode

Then you just have to go into your inventory or into the menu via esc and can do other shit

Yeah I have a cartography table at my house, you can just go there to make a copy of the Excelora Prime map

To make a copy of a map you have to have an empty map and then the original map, it's right on my wall so you should easily get it. Just be sure to put it back where it belongs
