The President of CSK, who owned Sega at the time, Isao Okawa, loaned SEGA $40 million dollars to help make the transition, which meant SEGA, who were on the verge of bankruptcy, owed a ton of money to Okawa. On Okawa's deathbed, he not only forgave the debt, but gave $625 Million of his stock *to* Sega. He singlehandedly saved SEGA.
