...I really need to start reading the books, I feel

the world building is so good, it's the main reason he can't finish them. This is my first read through since I've accepted they won't be finished and I think it'll be even better. I just appreciate what we got

I got really obsessed like 10 years ago, read them multiple times and knew all the history and theories, so now I'm reading again with fresh eyes but it comes back real quick

He has thousands of years of history before the game of thrones story takes place mapped out at this point and it's all so interesting I can't even blame him that he got sidetracked

And tbh the history, not the story that won't be finished is what I'm enjoying more anyway on this read lol

And understandable he's not getting near being finished

He has two books left and I don't even think the first will come out of them

And then there's the dunk and egg novellas which he's written 3 of the 7 of, I love them but I don't think we get a 4th lol the newest HBO show is based on them, great adaptation so far

I'm not really interested in those tbh

I would highly recommend them

I would actually recommend reading them in the order of release with the novels

But if I'd to take that deep dive and it all hits the right marks, I probably check em out too
