World Wrestling Entertainment sent out an email this afternoon saying that Ric Flair has been added to this coming Tuesday's ECW/Smackdown taping and will be making a "farewell speech to his hometown fans."

The email advisory also listed a six-man tag-team dark match main event featuring The Hardy Boys & Triple H takig on Edge, MVP and Umaga.

There are no other details on Flair's involvement yet and whether or not it will make the air.

This will probably make the air, but honestly...Flair needs to stop appearing on WWE TV. Its kind of ruining the entire point of the retirement stuff that we saw a few months ago

Thoughts?

first of all, try following the rules and not have the fucking spoiler in the thread title.

second of all, how many times do we have to discuss the topic about flair appearing on air again? what you said, i said the next day after WM. seriously, stop.

Well, at least there will be about 15-25 minutes of laughter, and tears of joy when he gives this lame farewell speech....again.

^ That'll be 15-25 minutes I spend on FOX watching a rerun of House, or whatever will be on at that time.

Flair needs to stay the hell off tv. It's bad enough we had to suffer him embarassing himself and professional wrestling as a whole anytime he got in the ring for 15 minutes of slapping, but now wrestling air time is dedicated to him and he's not even wrestling. I can't wait for the main event of a RAW to be Flair's televised funeral. You know it'll happen. :disgust1:

^lol, that'll be a sight to see.

I guess Ric Flair just keeps walking in Brett Favre's foot steps huh? Favre retired, so he does it. Favre comes back, so he is trying to do it. He is not the Brett Favre of wrestling. He could be the Kerry Collins or something, but not Favre.

It's his hometown. Let him talk, then get him off TV. I don't see why he can't make this appearance.

Actually a matter of fact its 12X ... Funk first said it in 1988 in his home town of Texas in a house show and than he came back after and after and eventually 11X he failed at retirering....

I don't see why Flair shouldnt appear on TV, as long as he doesn't wrestle, that doesn't ruin the retirement thing. It's good to see legends

I agree. Also does this supposed e-mail say whether he'll actually be on tv or will there be some sort of speech off camera?

Also how many people still make countless appearances on tv even though they "retired"? Like it or not Flair draws. I guarentee people will buy tickets to that show, that wouldn't have otherwise, just to see him

kronik,
If you think Flair is the Kerry Collins of wrestling than you are a fucking moron. If you knew anything about anything you'd know that Flair is a GOD down in North Carolina. Unlike Packer fans with Favre the fans aren't 50-50 about wanting to see him down there, it's 100% they want him around. They absolutely love him and for good reason. I have no real problem with this.

People complain about Vince taking TV Time up, and others. Flair takes up everyones time with his little pansy crying like a little fuckin' baby. That no-talent "Wrestler" needs to go home and stay home. Stop coming back. Take your Ego, and your selfishness and leave.

OK, what the hell? Farewell speech to his hometown fans? Pretty sure he had one of those a few montsh ago, when he supposedly 'retired' (about 10 years too late). And his HoF speech went for iteraly an hour (I tried to watch it :\)

You left, it was emotional, you cried a river, now build a birdge, jump off it, and stay the hell of my TV!

didnt he say goodbye 3 months ago. why does he need to come back again?
Exactly. Some people might say "oh well it's his hometown!" Yeah, well guess what, the next time they go there he'll probably want to make another appearance. Then he'll want to say goodbye in every major city. Then he'll want to say bye on every brand, including his hometown and every major city on the brands he didn't already do so on. Then it'll be some "if you beat Kane at Wrestlemania 25 in an inferno match you can come out of retirement," with people having the balls to say that such a match is Match of the Year. It just never STOPS. Flair said bye, that should be the end of it.
