I think Tuchel just beats to his own drum and doesn't play favourites the way past England managers have. He'll see some of the younger players as having a better fit for the team. Some gambles for sure. I think England will probably make the semis. I'm going for France to win it, but the likes of Argentina, Brazil and Spain could be there or there abouts. Norway are my dark horses.

Will be interesting to see how the hosts do. On the Rest is Football Alan Shearer says he fancies Canada to go the furthest of the 3 because they are well set up at the back. I would like Mexico to do well, just so much history with them and the fans are brilliant. Scotland should at least escape the group IMO.

Mexico leads South Africa 1-0. Mexico had been hammering at RSA's penalty box for the first 9 minutes of the game and something just had to get past the keeper eventually.

Not surprising to see Mexico dominate here. They have a great shot at topping their group and looking at the possible opponents in the first KO round for them, they very likely gonna survive that as well.

Just what South Africa didn't need: an ejection. They were already out-talented and out-skilled. Now they're outnumbered. They still had a puncher's chance to get the draw, before, but now they'd have to be satisfied losing 2-0 or even 3-0.

Well deserved and easy win for the hosts, but what crappy refereeing to kick off the tournament Probably only agree with the first red. I can see why the second one was a red but was still a bit soft (the Mexican player made a meal of it). A straight red for the third one was insane!
