Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking about this for a while and wanted to get some honest opinions from other wrestling fans here.
I absolutely love wrestling probably more than is healthy but lately I’ve been asking myself if I’m watching too much and if it’s even realistic to keep up with everything properly.

Right now, I’m following :
  • WWE (RAW, SmackDown, NXT, Evolve)
  • AEW (Dynamite, Collision)
  • NJPW
  • STARDOM
  • CMLL
  • AAA
  • TNA
  • ROH
  • GCW
  • wXw
  • plus random indie shows here and there
The problem is:
I want to watch all of it, but realistically there just isn’t enough time to fully keep up.
So I wanted to ask you all:
  • Do you think this is too much wrestling to follow seriously?
  • What promotions do you watch regularly?
  • How do you manage it time-wise?
I’m really curious how other fans handle this, because I know I can’t be the only one with this “I want to watch EVERYTHING” problem

Looking forward to your thoughts and advice!

I watch what is convenient and what I feel like. This is usually WWE premium live events and AEW a day or two later. I also watch WildKat, but that's a local thing that I watch from a special location. You don't have t watch everything.

Watch it in moderation. There's nothing wrong with keeping up with all those companies but to sit and watch all day long is a bit much.

It's why I cut out most WWE stuff. I didn't enjoy it for the most part outside of select matches and it is too much to keep up with. I mostly now watch AEW and then check out stuff from NJPW, CMLL and MLW if I have time. I will check out the odd WWE match and watched the rumble as was at someone's house party with it on but yeah for most part: I had to cut it out because there is only so many hours in the day

Don't let people say you watch it too much. If it's infecting you're personal relationships and you're choosing watching wrestling over engaging in actual life, then sure it's a problem. If it is the primary media you watch and you watch a lot of it, then it's no different than an NBA fan watching basketball everyday, reality tv show fans watching every iteration of love island they can find, even shit like the amount of hours people log on video games.

Those things only become a problem when you are choosing it over pro-social engagement or even taking care of yourself / health shit. If you watch wrestling for 3 hours a day, it is what it is. It's fun to be an expert on something over being a casual, so if it's just your own personal shame telling you your watching it too much, but your enjoying doing so, then fuck the personal shame, enjoy the wrestling.

Very much the argument I had with my Dad one time to where he flat out said you'll never find a GF because you watch Wrestling. Funny that is not okay but hey if you love Sports outside of that then you're good. Yeah during the Week I watch a ton of Wrestling to the point where I feel like I just went through a 12 Round Boxing Fight. I'm at the point in life where I don't give a fuck I love what I love accept me for who I am or hit the bricks.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to comment on this post again.

First of all, thanks for sharing your opinions. I’ve given it a lot of thought, and I’ve decided that in the future I’m going to consume fewer wrestling products.

I found myself thinking back to the old days when I first started watching wrestling. Back then, for me, it was just Raw and SmackDown nothing else. That meant I was insanely hyped for those shows all week because I didn’t have anything else to watch. When you follow 4821948 shows at the same time, the fun starts to suffer, the quality feels less special, and honestly it just became too much for my head.

So I’ve decided to only keep up with the following:
  • WWE (Raw, SmackDown, NXT) – Because it’s the main thing for me, and I just can’t leave it out.
  • AEW (Dynamite, Collision, ROH) –Alongside WWE, it’s a really good complementary product where wrestling itself is much more in the main focus.
  • NJPW / Stardom – I’m simply in love with Japanese wrestling. In terms of in-ring quality, it’s the product I enjoy the most.
  • AAA – As an extra addition to all of that, I wanted a Mexican product too. Compared to CMLL, AAA is much easier for me to watch because it has English commentary and they don’t produce many shows.
So far, I’m handling it very well. And if I ever don’t have much time, I’ll just catch up on 30-minute YouTube highlight.

Back in 2017, I found myself watching professional wrestling Monday-Friday.

Raw on Monday
Smack down on Tuesday
NXT on Wednesday
TNA on Thursday
The English subtitled version of NJPW on Friday.

After about 6 months, I realized it was far too much. My suggestion would be to stick with what you enjoy the most and catch everything else when you can.

That stretch burnt me out on wrestling and I’ve never truly recovered

Yeah I def watched wrestling for like 5 hours minimum a day the last 5 or 6 years or so. The. Last year I started a new job and didn't feel as comfortable watching at work (I def still could tho) and WWE was very much starting to feel like a chore to keep up with and pissing me off on a personal level so I just dropped them all. I didn't plan on dropping everything else at the time but it's like that broke the seal and now I only watch Dynamite, Collision, and AEW PPVs

I still follow Indies, NJPW and WWE through news sites but I usually just scroll past the WWE ones at this point bc I just don't care lol it's let me open back up a lot of old and new hobbies. I got super into history/cooking podcasts and YouTube videos along with getting back into my obsession with the A Song of Ice and Fire series, caught up on the new shows and started reading the books again more recently. This'll probably at least last throughout the next year or so lol

Yeah in like 2020 I got out of a relationship and wrestling was definitely my coping mechanism. I watched pretty much everything at the time plus the rewatches we used to do here. It didn't last that long as I met my now-wife just over 6 years ago and I stopped watching so much.
