proven? what, you want them to main event a couple PPVs via non-title matches (which means major feuds,,,in other words, doesn't fucking happen) so we could test them?

LOL... No; didn't so much as imply that.

shoot a guy from the midcard to the main event straight ahead.

Sticking with MVP as our example, do that with MVP at this point in time and it will suck.

it will never work any other way these days

Seems to working out ok for Morrison over on SD.

and if it does, it'll be by the time the superstar has gotten stale/boring.

MVP has become boring (in as much as he's done fuck all apart from job for over a year... I still don't know why we should consider him face at this point).

Also, again, see above.

mvp, miz, masters and swagger. one of them has to hold a world title before the rumble or ill be pissed.

If asked at the begining of this year, I'd have agreed.... Too late now though. That period between WM & Summerlam with all the B-grade PPVs is their window for building guys and that's now passed.

Summerslam & Survivor Series are pressumably (according to WWE) too big an event for fresh faces, NoMercy is apparently now the HIAC ppv so you won't be getting any ME newbs there. Only leaves Unforgiven & Armageddon before we hit that road to WM again.

Best chance we have is Henry vs Orton @ Unforgiven as if Cena beats Orton @ SSlam then we'll be seeing a obligatory rematch.

im not sticking with mvp but even him can be built up good enough within 2 months.

seriously? as long as morrison's walkin around with his ass-grin i dont wanna see him with a title. either way, are you implying that he's credible enough for a world title now?

i honestly dont know how the fuck he turned face in the first place. but again, like i said above you can get it to work in a short period of time if you really wanted to.

By losing a shitload of matches. Yes, someone actually thought that was a great idea.

Apparently it is a good idea, it worked

Kind of. Generally if you're going to have someone snap a losing streak and turn face you let them have a hot streak with some significant wins before coming up against the next challenge.

They did the opposite, MVP loses for ages, finially wins one back and then pffft. MVP could already be easily on his way if they actually followed through on his story. Instead they, as per usual, half-assed and now are scratching their heads as to why they're stuck with the same guys on top all the time.

You'll never nail a hole in one, or knock a pitch out of the park if you don 't use the proper follow through.

For a while. And instead of taking advantage of that, they continued to job him out. Basically, the losing streak ended up leading to... another losing streak. The only difference being he's now face.

Nah the losing streak made him a face. It made him that great cliche the "lovable loser". The only problem is the WWE didnt follow up on it, shock of shocks...

Alternatively since his character is a far better heel than face they could've had him win his match, snap his streak only to lose his next match to somebody and have him go way over the top aggressive to keep/get his heat and then hit a hot streak.

And this is why I don't get WWE writers. This wrestling shit is easy to write for. It's storytelling at it's very basic elements. All you need is one main story for a guy and keep track of all the branches that come off that storyline and you can keep a character interesting for years.

I agree. The losing streak was a good way to turn MVP face But they shit on it by not following it up. He could have been a big deal but they jobbed him out instead and wasted a good push with him. When he came to raw he made an impact with Orton. But nothing came of that. IMO they have missed the boat this time round with MVP. They may be another chance for him, But it's gotta come sooner rather than later IMO.

You already said that (and I already responded to it too).

[re:Morrison]are you implying that he's credible enough for a world title now?

No, I'm saying the gradual push approach is working very well for him. He looks like a credible contender (even if his mic work still needs to improve if he's gonna make a decent job of a title run.)

like i said above you can get it to work in a short period of time if you really wanted to.

You make it sound like there's no risk of failure....

"Die Rock Die"
"Cena Sucks" ...and so on. I assume WWE did want their initial plans to work out?

Which is why I can respect the fact that WWE can't and won't repeatedly push guys based on potential... Too many on-screen 'crash-and-burn' cases and the product looks like total shit. Between this and the Lesnar-like 'betrayals', it's hardly suprising they've pushed so few peeps to the top since Cena/Orton/Batista.... That said, doesn't mean I have to like it.

re: MVP..... He could have at least got to break his losing streak by himself..... HHH and a sledge hammer have to take credit for that.

But if he doesn't smile how will you be able to distinguish his face character from his heel character?

Well correct me if I'm wrong but from what I've seen lately there really isn't that big a difference.
