The show commenced with TBS Champion and number one contender to the AEW Womens Championship, Mercedes Mone arriving in style. As she stepped out of her tour bus, she has a five person entourage with her, to take care of her bags and all of her titles. All smiles, wearing borderline ridiculous shades, Mone was set to stroll through the arena, when she was spear tackled to the floor by the AEW Womens Champion Toni Storm. Toni just mauled Mone down to the floor and mounted her, able to put a hurting on her with some vicious right hands. As she put a hurting on her number one contender, Toni yelled, “THIS IS FOR DARLING LUTHER”! Suddenly, Storm was dragged off Mone by her longtime friend, Mina Shirakawa, who did her best to calm Storm down. Meanwhile, a bunch of medics came from nowhere to check on the fallen Mone, and this is all we’d get from the Womens Title situation this week…

Our commentary duo was unsure of the first match of the night based on what had information had been given to them. The confusion was eliminated when Executive Vice Presidents, The Young Bucks popped up on the big screen. Full of confidence, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson talk about how they are the finding fathers of All Elite Wrestling. Matt added, “AEW has become this worldwide phenomenon, where the best wrestle, and all of that has happened under our direction and leadership”. They talk about how they understand what entertains the people, so they left the opening match as a mystery for them to announce right now. Nicholas called out “something we haven’t seen in AEW in a LONG time is a Handicap match, so that’s what we’re going to give you all tonight to keep this product fresh and exciting”. And of course, they completely randomly selected the man who will be on his own in this Handicap Match, Swerve Strickland. His opponents would be the team known as CRU. As The Bucks laughed and enjoyed their announcement, they disappeared from the screen so the wrestlers could come out. Before the bell rang, Will Ospreay interrupted and claimed he didn’t care what The Young Bucks said, he wasn’t letting Swerve compete in a Handicap Match tonight. The referee standing in the ring seemed to agree, so we got a tag match instead…

Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay defeated CRU. The match was competitive with Action Andretti and Lio Rush continuing to improve as a team. Swerve and Ospreay were just a little to good though, with the House Call finishing Andretti nine minutes into the contest…

After the match, Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay celebrated their victory, but it was short lived, as The Young Bucks interrupted the celebration. All four men stared each other down, and then the brawl erupted. Despite being exhausted from their match, Swerve and Ospreay refused to back down. Eventually though, they were overwhelmed by the numbers when Cesaro and Wheeler Yuta got involved also. The four on two was to much for the faces to handle, and ended with The Bucks putting a chair over Swerve’s neck and landing a Double Superkick. Meanwhile, Cesaro gave Ospreay the spin, before throwing him onto a steel chair for a rough landing. The four heels celebrated together, leaving Swerve and Ospreay lying in pain…

The opening match wasn’t the last we saw from CRU on this very night also. Action Andretti and Lio Rush were licking their wounds in the back, when Ricochet came over to them. In his own little world, Ricochet assumed they’d be more excited to see him, but CRU are in a foul mood after losing. “Ah, fair enough, it was a rough night for you guys. I get that, but I also see ALL the POTENTIAL in the world. You might have heard I’m looking to build a team…” CRU don’t look overly excited or disappointed, it was hard to gauge, but the camera cut away, so we don’t hear any more of the conversation…

A replay is shown of last week at Grand Slam Mexico when Hangman Adam Page caught the Death Riders in a giant net on the ramp. Page then got in a lot of cheap shots on the Death Riders before leaving…

To address what happened last week, the AEW Champion Jon Moxley came down to the ring to reveal his thoughts. Surprisingly, Marina Shafir was with Mox, holding the briefcase, but nobody else from the Death Riders was. Mox hated to admit it, but one thing these people can say no matter how much they hate him, is that he doesn’t come out here and lie. The truth is, Hangman Adam Page had been getting the better of him and the Death Riders recently. “The part that really pisses me off is all you people really getting behind him. You’re all thinking oh, nobody has had ME this off his game before, but what you people need to realise, is what Page is doing lacks substance. He’s not being a better man than me, he’s not beating me in that ring, he’s dropping nets from the ceiling and forklifting locker room doors shut. He’s playing tricks”. Mox admits that initially the tricks really angered him, but he’s not angry about them anymore. The tricks have actually revealed something that makes Moxley happy. “The tricks show me that this version of Adam Page is not worthy for the AEW World Championship. This makes me happy because I locked the title in that briefcase, and I REFUSE to open it until somebody worthy beats me. I’m happy because now I ALREADY know that I’m beating Adam Page at All In. You’ve lost yourself, Page. This guy resorting to cheap ploys and tricks, he’s a SHELL of the Adam Page who nearly CHOKED THE LIFE out of me in a Texas Death Match!” Mox mentioned he hadn’t stood still, he had gotten better since then so that guy MAYBE had a chance against him at All In. This current version of Adam Page, according to Mox, is going to be light work, and that’s how the promo ends. The World Champion standing tall, very confident…

Hangman Adam Page defeated Lance Archer in the main event. The giant of the Don Callis Family dominated most of the match, but Page demonstrated the heart and resilience required to be champion. Using his stamina advantage, Page almost let Archer punch himself out, before putting him down in just under ten minutes with the Buckshot Lariat…

Hangman Adam Page’s celebration didn’t last long as Jon Moxley knocked him out with a sucker punch with a steel chain wrapped around his fist. After landing a few more blows, Mox wrapped the chain around the neck of Page and threw him over the top rope. Mox held the other side of the chain, in essence hanging Page, and the final image we saw is Page’s face turning red as the show faded to black…

Don Callis led Kyle Fletcher to the ring, so the duo could have some promo time without the rest of the Don Callis Family. Don started by insulting the fans before talking up Kyle Fletcher, talking about how he’s the fastest rising star in professional wrestling and a surefire future World Champion and Hall Of Famer. The fans negative reception showed they didn’t agree with Callis’ words, which caused the Aussie to be in a bad mood once he got his hands on the mic. Fletcher talked about being bred to win, it’s in his DNA, and that’s why he’s so much better than the fans here tonight, and the boys in the back. “Although it shouldn’t be any surprise that I’m better than all of you, after all, we’re in Washington of all places”. With the disgruntled fans growing louder, Fletcher didn’t soften as he talked about how the people from here suck and so do the sports teams. “The Kraken and the Mariners suck and the Seattle Seahawks haven’t won anything in over ten years”. From there, Fletcher focused in on the people, not just the fans but he even used wrestlers names such as Batista and Swerve Strickland. According to Fletcher, both were unimpressive, just like the place and he can’t wait to be out of his dump. Suddenly, the roof basically blew off the arena as Bryan Danielson made his return!!! Being a proud Washington native, Danielson admitted he didn’t plan on coming out here tonight but Kyle just had to push his luck. “Now, I’ve come right off the couch, to here tonight, and I’m saying let’s see how much Washington and people from Washington suck. How about you and me right now, Kyle? Let’ see what you can do against a Washington native who hasn’t trained, is fresh off the couch, and ready to defend his state.” Callis attempted to talk Fletcher out of it, but ever the hot head, Fletcher accepted the match anyway, wanting to prove a point…

Bryan Danielson defeated Kyle Fletcher in an impromptu match. Despite his tough words, Fletcher struggled to really get into this one, and after only seven minutes, Danielson forced Fletcher to submit to the Cattle Mutilation…

After the match, Bryan Danielson received a massive ovation from his hometown fans. He continued to celebrate until Don Callis waved towards the back, with Josh Alexander, Konosuke Takeshita and Trent Baretta jogging down from the back. They started to circle Danielson like hungry sharks, until The Opps ran down and got into the ring. There was no violence with here, with both teams staring each other down, until Callis instructed his team to leave. Alexander, Baretta and a recovered Fletcher do, however Takeshita required further convincing, as he got himself into yet another stare down with Samoa Joe. Eventually, Takeshita listened to Callis and left, but the tension in the air remained…

The Hurt Syndicate defended the AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Paragon. The match was ruled a No Contest when the mystery masked luchadores from last week in Mexico showed up, and interfered with both teams. When both the champions and The Paragon turned to focus on the masked men, the referee had no choice but to call for the bell…

After the match, both The Hurt Syndicate and The Paragon are furious, watching the mystery masked luchadores prance up the ramp. They don’t disappear though, instead remaining on the ramp. Whilst neither of them speaks, a very familiar voice can be heard, “Well, well, I think it’s time to reveal this mystery on just who these mystery masked men are. Let me just start by saying, in Mexico, and across all of the world, they are known as… LIVING LEGENDS”! For those in the know, that probably gave it away, as the two mystery men remove their masks, revealing FTR. And then Big Stoke came out from the back, revealing that he was the voice everybody could hear before the reveal. “It looks like we fooled you all, and now we’re going to make the entire tag division our fools, because I’ve got it on good authority from the EVP’s, that we’ll be challenging for those AEW Tag Team Titles at All In. Hurt Syndicate, MVP, you never answered our challenge, so we MADE it happen. Paragon, these tag titles are like a delicatessen, baby, so just pick a number and get to the back of the line”. Both teams in the ring look furious whilst FTR swagger to the back, apparently now the number one contenders also…

Of course, it also couldn’t be an episode of Dynamite in this BTB without some promo time from Maxwell Jacob Friedman. MJF got some in the ring, separate from The Hurt Syndicate, so he could discuss what he planned on doing at All In. “This year I got a bit distracted with dragging old Misty up and down the ring in Mexico, that I’ve been kept out of the AEW World Championship picture for All In. I was having a discussion with MVP earlier tonight, and we both agreed, that only really leaves me with one thing to do, I’m going to WIN the Men’s Casino Gauntlet Battle Royal at All In”! MJF talked about how not only would that be something new and exciting for him, but it was also gain him a contract allowing him a AEW World Title shot whenever he wanted it. That’s the type of power that MJF lives for, it’s why he’s the devil after all. “I don’t even know which schmucks will be in this match with me, but it simply won’t matter. I’m go- “… Surprisingly, MJF was interrupted by AR Fox. Getting cheered quite loudly for interrupting MJF, Fox stepped into the ring without hesitation. He told MJF that he couldn’t help but come out here and correct him on something. “You won’t be winning that Casino Gauntlet match at All In… I WILL BE”! Fox laid all his cards on the table, however MJF simply laughed in his face. It wasn’t the reaction that Fox expected, as MJF disrespectfully put his hands on his knees, continuing his fake laughter. MJF mentioned that was hilarious, “you might be AR Fox, but you keep cracking me up like that and I’m gonna’ need CPR, bud”. Fox didn’t appreciate MJF not taking him seriously, but MJF told AR Fox that he had earned the right to respond this way because he’s better than Fox. Getting fired up, Fox demanded that MJF, “prove it”, and getting annoyed at Fox’s persistence, MJF accepted…

MJF defeated AR Fox. Visibly shaken by how hard fought this was, this took MJF’s best, as Fox proved to MJF that he is no joke. In the end though, after around eleven minutes, MJF was able to soften up Fox enough to hit The Heatseeker, which ended the match…

TNT Champion Adam Cole requested some interview time as he was furious that Daniel Garcia had yet to show his face, since his heinous betrayal. Cole said that he was irate and under no circumstances was he waiting until All In to get his hands on Garcia. “I don’t even care if I’ve got to beat somebody from your new family to drag your cowardly ass out of the woodwork. So that’s the plan, to any member of the Don Callis Family, meet me in the ring on Collision, and we’ll see if Garcia has the guts to show up”. It was short and sweet from Cole, who then left, still clearly in a bad mood…

Megan Bayne defeated Tay Melo via disqualification. Melo had been on a roll since her return and fought valiantly here, however after ten minutes, it did look like Bayne was taking over with her strength. However, Melo SNAPPED when Bayne would not let go of an Arm Bar, despite Melo reaching the ropes. As the referee admonished Bayne, Melo got a steel chair and unloaded on Bayne, therefore a DQ was called. After the match, Bayne staggered up the ramp, whilst Melo stood strong with a steel chair, ready for more…

Booking Challenge Week #4​

NXT finally got a break this week as AEW got hit with the booking challenge. This week’s random event simulator came up with a legendary wrestler to return due to a heel running his mouth. So my way of answering this challenge was to have Kyle Fletcher run his mouth, and then for Bryan Danielson to come down and demand a match. Being as that we were in Washington, it just made sense.

It also helped considering I actually had plans to bring Danielson back for All In anyway. When he retired, he retired as a full time wrestler, so figured it wouldn’t be completely unrealistic to have him come back for the biggest show of the year. Those plans will still happen, it just turns out Danielson is back a week earlier than I had originally planned.

For context, there was originally going to be more follow up with The Young Bucks/Swerve and Ospreay on this show, but that got pushed to Collision and altered slightly to allow for this Danielson stuff to happen.

Week 1 Booking Challenge – NXT – Book a tag team best of seven series – In Progress with Briggs and Inamura vs. The High Ryze

Week 2 Booking Challenge – NXT – Book two top starts to join forces – Jasper Troy and Trick Williams are now a unit.

Week 3 Booking Challenge – NXT – Turn a random heel wrestler to a babyface – Brooks Jensen turned face by saving his former friend Josh Briggs, and his new tag team partner, Yoshiki Inamura from an attack by The High Ryze.

Week 4 Booking Challenge – AEW – A heel trash talks and causes a legend to return for a match – Kyle Fletcher ran down Washington and Washington wrestlers, leading to Bryan Danielson coming to the aid of his hometown and returning.

It's pretty crazy to think that you've booked 4 weeks worth of shows for every promotion in North America. Massive congrats just for that alone, but the quality of content you're putting out right now is top notch (hence the BTBOTM). I know I probably sound like a broken record by this point, but your version of the biz is so much better than what we are actually getting right now. Admittedly I don't follow AEW so I'm not sure if they are shit right now or not, but regardless your version is probably better lol

Just gonna ramble some thoughts about the current state of your WWE:

Bron Breakker being the one to retire Goldberg once and for all (hopefully) is so well booked. Breakker continues to carry the Steiner legacy on, and although Goldberg isn't a main attraction, to the outside fan, Rick Steiner's son retiring Goldberg is money. I'm excited to see how you plan on booking Breakker following this encounter, as being Rollins' heavy works, but he has so much potential to be something more than a henchman right now.

LA Knight and Black is a very fun feud. I'm digging LA Knight's continued push although he came up short at MITB. I'm hoping the cross over with Rollins continues into Summerslam, and would be cool to see Rollins put his MITB on the line.

Sami/Jey encounter was great, and although I don't see you deviating from real life, King Sami chasing after Jey's title (if he makes it that far) would be very exciting. Cody can still get Cena as he is Cody, so I am curious to see if you pull the trigger on Sami winning KOTR.

On the NXT side of things, I love the slow build to the brewing war with TNA. Sprinkling in bits and pieces over time, I am excited to see how it all eventually pans out. Jasper Troy hanging onto the NXT Title for dear life with Trick helping him along the way is a fun storyline, and I know I've said this before but there are times where I legit think that Troy is the NXT Champ in real life lol

Overall man, you know from close to 10 years of commenting on your stuff that I'm not the best at constructive criticism so I don't even bother. I'm just along for this fun ride. And it has been quite fun recently. You're a damn machine with these shows lol. Keep up the great work, and keep putting out banger content for us all to enjoy!

Thanks for the comments, BT. Appreciate the love. Just a heads up, Seth Rollins didn't win the MITB ladder match. Roman interfered and cost him and then disappeared again, that's why Seth keeps mentioning him in his promos. That's simmering in the background as Seth deals with chasing the World Title, his blood feud with CM Punk, AND potentially this LA Knight thing... AJ Styles won MITB in my WWE and after Gunther poked fun at AJ being finished prior to MITB and prior to Gunther having his title shot, the roles have reversed since AJ won MITB and Gunther lost to Uso, with AJ telling Gunther he's way closer to a title reign than Gunther is... Sorry, bit of an extended response, hope you don't mind the run down haha.

Anyway, here's Collision...

It was a special Thursday edition of Collision this week which commenced with Tony Schiavone standing in the centre of the ring. Tony invited The Paragon to the ring to let them get some thoughts off their chest. None of them looked in good spirits as TNT Champion Adam Cole started talking about all of his issues with Daniel Garcia. “At this point, I’m not as angry as I was, I’m just disappointed that Daniel wasn’t enough of a man to deal with our problems face to face. And surprise, surprise, he’s still not man enough to face me now”. Cole made it clear he was ready whenever Garcia was to deal with this like men, and he didn’t want to wait until All In. With Cole finished, now it was time for Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong to take the spotlight. They talked about how FTR were forced to come up with this master plan involving dressing up like luchadores to weasel their way into the title picture. “They had to do that because when they faced us to EARN the right for a title shot, they couldn’t beat us”, added O’Reilly before Strong continued. “We never lost to The Hurt Syndicate on Dynamite, so the way we see it, WE are the true number one contenders for the AEW Tag Team Titles”. Before they could say anymore, they were interrupted by FTR and Stokely Hathaway stepping onto the ramp. The heel trio made fun of Paragon, letting them know that their words do not mean anything. Big Stoke laughed at them as he told them that “we’re the number one contenders. The position is already taken. You can go back to doing nothing like you were before you decided to try and get in our way.” The Paragon disagreed vehemently, mentioning that they beat FTR just last week. They challenge them to step up and face them for the number one contender slot. FTR turn them down until Tony Schiavone mentioned that Tony Khan has announced that these two teams will meet right now, and if The Paragon win, they will be added to the tag title match at All In…

The Paragon defeated FTR. These two teams put on another barn burner for about twelve minutes until Strong caught Harwood with a Crucifix pin out of nowhere to get the victory. The Paragon was now added to the tag title match, whilst FTR were furious afterwards, having lost again…

Later on in the night, the AEW Tag Team Champions The Hurt Syndicate were backstage. MVP did the talking for the champions as per usual and talked about how most people would be complaining about their title defence at All In being a Three Way. Most people would be complaining that now they could lose their titles without being pinned or submitted. “But we ain’t most people. We’re The Hurt Syndicate. Like the song says, “WE HURT PEOPLE”, and that don’t matter if the people are big, small, short, tall, and it damn sure don’t matter how many of them there are.” MVP talked about how that’s for All In, but they’ve also got their eyes on next week which will see Dynamite 300 and Collision 100. They like to hurt people so much that they are happy to live up to their previous word. “All In can still be the three way no matter what, but we want FTR next week with our titles on the line. Make it happen, Tony Khan” …

Whilst that was all from the tag team scene, there was still plenty happening for Adam Cole’s situation. Matt Menard was interviewed backstage, and he continued to look distraught at the fact that Daniel Garcia would not answer his calls. He claimed that he hadn’t give up on Garcia and he would show him the light. Don Callis walked onto the scene, laughing hysterically, telling him to give up. “What you need to realise is that Daniel decided to drop the zero and be with the hero”. Menard disagreed though, according to him, he knew Garcia to well and he would not give up on him. “I know deep down inside that it’s not to late for Daniel. I just need to speak to him before you sink your paws any further into his flesh”. Menard informed Callis that he would be calling out Garcia next week, before storming off. The concerning thing for Menard though, Callis did not look concerned in the slightest…

Despite not seeing Daniel Garcia tonight or having much other business to attend to, Matt Menard remained in the building. Adam Cole confronted him and bluntly asked where Garcia was. Similarly to earlier in the night during his interview, Menard answered that he had no idea where he was. Cole doesn’t seem to buy it, but Menard swore it was the truth. “Look Adam, I don’t know what’s going on in the kids mind or how Don Callis has poisoned him. All I know is it’s not to late for him, so I need to ask you a favour. I know I have no right to ask you this, but please, don’t judge Garcia or listen to him until I get a chance to talk to him first.” Menard was earnest, almost pleading with Cole, who looked rather fed up. “It’s already been a full week since I was embarrassed and battered in front of the world. I can’t promise anything…”

In the main event of the evening, Adam Cole defeated Hechicero. After thirteen hard fought minutes, Cole managed to nail the Panama Sunrise for the win. Whilst it didn’t necessarily make him happy, Cole got a form of revenge on the Don Callis Family by beating one of its own promising members, but it still wasn’t the man he wanted more than anything in Garcia…

After the match, as Adam Cole celebrated with his TNT Championship, he was viciously attacked from behind by Daniel Garcia. Making his first appearance since turning on Cole, Garcia beat down Cole, before smashing the TNT Championship across his skull. With the damage already done, The Paragon ran down to protect Cole, and Garcia arrogantly left the ring, getting major heat from the fans…

Jet Speed defeated Big Bill and Bryan Keith. For the second week in a row on Collision, Jet Speed were able to get on top and score the victory. The ending came about when Mike Bailey managed to swivel out of a Big Bill Powerbomb attempt, and catch him with a Sunset Flip for the unexpected three count. The match went for a little over ten minutes…

A video package aired during the night highlighting the feud between AEW Womens Champion Toni Storm and TBS Champion Mercedes Mone. Initially we saw clips of Storm’s incredible recent run with the Womens Title, before clips are shown of some of the highlights of Mone’s undefeated run in AEW. The video then picked up in speed as some of the more recent personal issues between the two is showcased. This included Mone taking out Luther, Storm travelling all the way to Mexico for revenge, and Storm attacking Mone again on Dynamite this week…

Once the video package ended, we cut to a locker room in the back where a salivating Toni Storm is watching on a TV Monitor. The Womens Champ looked ready to go hunting for Mone again, fists taped despite not being in action tonight. A calming hand appeared on her shoulder though, and that hand belonged to Storm’s friend, Mina Shirakawa. Mina told storm that she understood the anger and pain and drive for revenge she felt right now, but Storm promised that she didn’t. “You don’t understand what I’m feeling, and you don’t understand what I’m going to do. They call me ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm, but all I can think about is putting an end to Mone’s time for good”. Mina was a little taken aback by the lack of Stormisms tonight, with Storm just being dead serious instead. Mina pleaded with Storm to at least wait until after next week to do any damage. “If you want to jeopardise the match at All In by taking Mercedes out, I can’t stop you. BUT I ask that you PLEASE wait until after Dynamite 300 next week, because Tony Khan has given me a shot at the TBS Title”. Storm doesn’t really react at all to the big time match announcement, as Mina told her to please think about it, before leaving to let Storm simmer…

Megan Bayne squashed an unnamed jobber. After playing with her food for a couple of minutes, Bayne finished the poor soul with a Tombstone Piledriver. Once the match was done, Bayne grabbed a steel chair from ringside and smashed it over the back of the jobber, sending a direct message to Tay Melo, after the way their match ended on Dynamite. Bayne also mouthed to the camera that she had two missions, destroy Tay Melo and win the Womens Casino Gauntlet at All In…

Willow Nightingale defeated Julia Hart. Another match to hype two competitors in the Womens Casino Gauntlet match at All In. This one was much more competitive than the previously mentioned one, going approx. eight minutes. In the end, Willow hit the Babe With The Bomb for the impressive victory…

After the match, Sky Blue ran down and helped Julia Hart attack Willow Nightingale in revenge. Despite her best efforts, the two on one was to much for Willow until Queen Aminata made the save. With the numbers even, the battle evened up as well until Thekla ran down to get her some of Aminata. One more heel in the ring meant the heels regained the advantage, with Willow and Aminata struggling. Watching on from the Gorilla position, unsure whether to intervene is Kris Statlander, who can never quite figure out if she is friends with Willow or not. Suddenly, Alex Windsor brushed past Stat’s shoulder and ran to the ring, evening up proceedings. The six women continued to fight, all hell breaking loose until the program cut a commercial break…

Getting some promo time in the back this week was Anthony Bowens, of course, as always, accompanied by Billy Gunn. Bowens was more steadfast than usual with a slightly aggressive tone, as he promoted himself as the ‘Five Tool Player’. “Even with all the tools, even being the pride of pro wrestling, things haven’t been going all that great for me recently”. Billy gave Bowens an encouraging pat on the back, and something almost like annoyance flickered across Bowens face, just for a solitary moment. Bowens then nodded and said he and his mentor Billy had recalibrated and Bowens was ready for his next big move. “I’m going to get myself in and I’m going to WIN the Mens Casino Gauntlet at All In” …

AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada defeated Brody King. This was the match where AEW International Champion Kenny Omega was able to pick Okada’s opponent. On commentary, Omega explained that he chose King, because without his tag partner around, people were forgetting how dangerous and powerful King was. Kenny wanted to give King the opportunity to prove himself, and if Okada got thrown around a little in the process, that was just a bonus. Whilst King did have an impressive performance, and hung in there for the better part of twelve minutes, The Rainmaker was enough to take down the giant and gain Okada the victory…

In the medical room, Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay have both made the trip to Collision to be checked by medics. Both are clearly still favouring their bodies after being attacked by the Death Riders and The Young Bucks on Dynamite last night. The EMT’s sign off on both men, informing them they need some R&R, but they should be good to go. As they got off the examination table, both Swerve and Ospreay shot each other a knowing glance. Swerve mentioned they talked about going their separate ways in the past, but now more than ever they need to do it. Ospreay agreed with Swerve, saying “All along I’ve wanted to ensure that the Death Riders can’t help Jon Moxley retain the AEW Championship, and that will continue to be my goal. It’s so important for that World Title to come back to AEW. I know EXACTLY what I need to do now, bruv”. Swerve nodded, appreciating Ospreay’s passion before mentioning his own business. “I might actually indirectly help you with that. The Death Riders seem to have The Young Bucks in their back pockets recently. Well I couldn’t give a damn if Hangman dropped dead tomorrow, I’m gunnin’ for the Bucks, and that means I might just take them both out before the main event, meaning they can’t help Mox either”. Ospreay liked the sound of that as Swerve went one step further, officially challenging The Young Bucks to a match at All In. Ospreay jokingly called out that Swerve had inspired him, so Ospreay then made a challenge to the Death Riders to a tag team match at All In. “I’ll find a partner, bruv, and we’ll take the Death Riders out to”. Before the conversation can go further, the medic room door swung open, and somebody entered. We don’t see who it is on camera but Swerve and Ospreay look surprised to see the person. A familiar voice tells Ospreay, “maybe I can be of assistance”, to which a smirking Ospreay replied, “you read my mind”. And that’s how the segment ended, with Ospreay maybe finding a partner to face the Death Riders at All In (the match was later signed off by Tony Khan), whilst Swerve’s match with The Young Bucks remained up in the air…

Another match heavy ROH because I'm trying to stay true to formats the companies use in real life. I did throw some segments in this one to make it hopefully more entertaining than the previous ROH PPV. Also kudos to anybody who reads this in enough detail to pick up the Owen Hart reference.

It’s another episode of ROH, and whilst I’m throwing in a few more segments where I can, I’m sticking to the realism of mostly matches with many segments thrown in. Which means, we are kicking off with in ring action tonight…

Match One
Athena, Billie Starkz and Red Velvet vs. Kiera Hogan, Persephone and Thunder Rosa

These women open up with a sprint of a match as they don’t get a long time to do their thing. Ever the sidekick, Starkz is forced to do most of the work for the heel team, whilst the face team consisting of hungry challengers and Persephone share the load. When Starkz is able to damage the knee of Persephone, the ROH Womens Champion Athena was happy to get in the ring.

When Persephone turned the tide and made the hot to Thunder Rosa, Athena was less interested. She quickly bolted to her corner and tagged in Velvet. Whilst Rosa was frustrated, she just beat up on Velvet anyway. Eventually, Rosa bounced off the ropes, but Athen tripped her from the outside.

Furious, Rosa tagged in Hogan, AND THEN STEPPED OUT OF THE RING AND STARTED CHASING ATHENA AROUND RINGSIDE!!!

Athena bolted to the back, and Rosa followed, wanting nothing more than to get at the champ. Meanwhile, in the ring, Starkz and Velvet attempt to work together, but Hogan ducks a Superkick attempt, and Starkz takes Velvet’s head off by mistake. Persephone sprints into the ring and takes Starkz out with a Clothesline over the top rope.

Velvet staggers to her feet, still in shock at being popped in the jaw by her teammate… AND HOGAN HITS THE FACE THE MUSIC!!!

HOGAN MAINTAINS THE BRIDGE…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Kiera Hogan, Persephone and Thunder Rosa via pinfall @ 7:33​

Thunder Rosa and Athena are nowhere to be found, as Hogan and Persephone share a celebratory hug inside of the ring. The Mexican fans are happy as the team with a CMLL representative won. The girls continue to celebrate, enjoying the feel good start to the show, as Hogan points towards the panicked Red Velvet.

The ROH Womens Television Champion backs up the ramp, looking worse for wear, whilst Hogan points at her, and lets her know the title is coming her way soon…

Match Two
Proving Ground Match
‘Shotty’ Lee Johnson w/Blake Christian vs. Titan

This is a great match between the ROH TV Champion and one of CMLL’s finest. Johnson fights hard whilst Titan does definitely prove himself of potentially worthy of a title shot down the track. These Proving Ground matches have a ten minute time limit so at the seven minute mark, Blake Christian begins getting concerned on the outside.

As the match goes into the home stretch, both men begin trading their best shots, with neither able to pick up the victory. Getting restless, Blake Christian steps onto the apron numerous times, looking to get involved, however ‘Shotty’ tells him to back off because he’s the champ and he’s got this.

Johnson ends up spending to long having discussions with Titan, allowing Titan to drop Johnson in the centre of the ring. The CMLL star then ascends to the top rope… TITAN CONNECTS WITH THE SUPER LANZA!!!

TITAN HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3…NO!!! JOHNSON GETS HIS FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE!!!

AND A SECOND LATER, THE BELL RINGS!!!

Winner: Time expired @ 10:00​

Groans reverberate throughout the arena, as nobody is happy with that result. Titan is furious, whilst Christian drags Johnson to the back, but Johnson still doesn’t look to impressed with Christian.

Even on commentary, they talk about how Johnson already has a defence scheduled Supercard of Honor but Titan has earned a title shot at some point based on the Proving Ground stipulation.

Before they disappear through the curtain, Shotty can be seen as king Christian, “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOIN’, MAN?”…

Returning from the break, we get a video package…

The video package plays and focuses in on CMLL vs. AEW/ROH on June 17th. After BANDIDO defeated MASCARA DORADA to retain the ROH Title, the two men shared a moment of respect, highlighting the relationship between ROH and CMLL.​

Having defeated four of CMLL’s best earlier in the night, the DON CALLIS FAMILY reigned on the parade. They used their numbers advantage to beat down both Bandido and Dorada.​

At ROH on Honor Club last week, Dorada had come together with three other men from CMLL to challenge the Don Callis Family. Don Callis accepted, but due to commitments in Japan, the family were one member short of the match.

ROH allowed Don Callis to find a fourth man, and in a surprise to all, he chose the man JOSH ALEXANDER is chasing for the ROH Title, Bandido.

Averno, Euforia, Gran Guerrero and Mascara Dorada vs. Bandido and The Don Callis Family w/Don Callis

It’s Hechicero, Josh Alexander and Kyle Fletcher from the Don Callis Family tagging alongside the ROH Champion. Dorada started off on fire, taking out plenty of his pent up aggression on the trio of family members. Once the CMLL guys got in, they initially all had some time to showcase their skills. With Guerrero in control, Don Callis used his loudmouth on the apron to provide a distraction, allowing Fletcher to take over.

From here, the Don Callis Family show just how much of an effective unit they are. They work together and dominate the contest, just not quite able to put Guerrero away for a three count. Bandido also gets frustrated on the outside, just standing on the apron, as his partners refuse to tag him in. There is even one point in the match where Alexander gets given the ROH Title by Callis, and he tells Bandido it will be his soon.

Eventually Hechicero gets caught by Gran Guerrero, who is able to make the hot tag to Dorada. Dorada comes in like a house on fire and dominated the three Callis Family members, until finally, Hechicero makes the desperate tag to Bandido. Bandido comes in and has a terrific battle with Dorada, however when exhausted Dorada is able to make the tag, whereas BANDIDO IS LEFT ON HIS OWN AS THE DON CALLIS FAMILY JUMP OFF THE BARRICADE AND LEAVE THE RING!!!

With Bandido on his own, the CMLL wrestlers and Dorada do their thing, and eventually DORADA HITS A SHOOTING STAR PRESS OFF THE TOP!!!

DORADA HOOKS THE ROH CHAMPIONS LEG…1…2…3!!!

The strong night for CMLL continues as they pick up their third win in as many matches. The fans applaud loudly as the quartet celebrates, whilst the smarmy Don Callis Family leave, having watched gleefully from the ramp as Bandido lost.

Feeling compassion for the ROH Champion, Dorada helps Bandido up, and they all shake hands, but it’s clear Bandido isn’t happy. Eventually he leaves the ring, storming up the ramp, whilst the CMLL team continues to celebrate…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-​

Returning from the break, an ENRAGED ROH CHAMPION BANDIDO has highjacked a camera, body glistening with sweat as he holds his ribs, feeling the impact of tonight’s match.

Bandido: Don Callis… Josh Alexander… enough is enough.

AND IT’S TIME FOR A CHANGE~!

Bandido: Ring Of Honor, the key word there is honour. Everything in this promotion is done with honour, I defend this championship with honour.

Bandido pauses, still breathing heavily post-match.

Bandido: ROH is not a place for people like you.

He shakes his head along with his words.

Bandido: Dirty tricks, mind games, it all stops now. You made the challenge two weeks ago, I accept. I will defend my title against you, Josh Alexander at Supercard of Honor…

The champ then storms off, still furious, as our commentary team immediately confirm the match is now official for Supercard Of Honor…

Next up is a pre-taped segment in which we cut inside a building, where JOHNNY TV and TAYA VALKYRIE sit amongst rows of empty seats. Johnny TV is wearing an open fur coat with no tee, whilst Taya dons one of her skintight body suits. As the cameras pan around to reveal their surroundings, it shows they’re sitting in front of a runway.

Johnny TV: We’ve made it clear to all that we’re chasing gold here in Ring Of Honor.

Taya is all smiles, as her man speaks.

Johnny TV: And last week, after a conversation with our, ah, buddies, STP, that’s Shane Taylor Promotions for all you squares, we’ve made a decision as to just what titles we plan on chasing.

The two continue to look confident.

Johnny TV: But unlike those rugged, unwashed, DISGUSTING Sons Of Texas, we are ridiculously, RIDICULOUSLY good looking, so we’ve decided to reveal which titles will be chasing the only way we know how.

Both Johnny TV and Taya click their fingers excitedly.

Johnny TV and Taya Valkyrie: A FASHION SHOW~!

With that, the spotlights on the runway turn on and “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls plays, and MXM COLLECTION strut out onto the stage together. MANSOOR is wearing bright red gum boots, whilst MASON MADDEN has opted for a beige slipper type arrangement.

Outside of this, it’s a rather tame fashion show, as both men strut their stuff, wearing buttoned up long trench coats.

Once they get to the edge of the runway, they bump hips, almost hitting their asses together, because that’s a cool model thing according to them. They look towards Johnny and Taya who’re applauding enthusiastically. MxM then point towards Johnny and implore him to join them on the runway. After shooing them off for a brief moment, pretending to be shy, TV jumps up with his fur coat now closed, joining them on stage.

All three stand, striking a post, as Taya loves it… AND THEN ALL THREE OPEN THEIR JACKETS… TO REVEAL THAT THEY ARE WEARING REPLICA ROH WORLD SIX MAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!

The reveal has been done, as Taya now gets up on the runway. She dramatically lays herself at their feet, pouting her lips and staring at the camera with a seductive pose.

Taya Valkyrie: Hit ‘em with the blue steel boys…

All four of them shoot their best model “I’m hot” pose ala the great Zoolander, as we cut away from the ridiculous segment…

It’s almost main event time, but we get one more segment beforehand. At the makeshift interview set in the back, the lovely LEXY NAIR stands by.

Lexy Nair: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, he is moments away from defending his ROH Pure Championship… LEE MORIARTY!!!

ROH PURE CHAMPION LEE MORIARTY steps into shot, nodding at Nair, before mean mugging the camera, showing off his grills.

Lexy Nair: Thank you for your time so close to the main event. It’s come to my attention that you requested this match, so I just have to ask why this match and why Blue Panther?

Moriarty nods, understanding the question.

Lee Moriarty: It shouldn’t be a surprise to you that I’ve made this challenge.

Lexy looks confused, because she is surprised.

Lee Moriarty: I know I rock with Shane Taylor Promotions, they my boys. And in a lot of ways, we run to the beat of our own drum. Hell, sometimes we go gang gang and straight upbeat people up to get where we goin’.

Moriarty shrugs, he knows not everybody likes their actions but it’s the truth.

Lee Moriarty: But through all that noise, I’ve kept my ROH Pure Championship reign separate to all that.

He puffs out his chest with pride.

Lee Moriarty: I got to the ring alone; I take care of business and then I celebrate with STP… So I just want to make it very clear that this shouldn’t be a surprise, because I’ve been a fighting champion since I earned this belt nearly one year ago.

Lexy nods, apologetically.

Lee Moriarty: As for why Blue Panther? I watched this man for years and years and I never thought I’d get the chance to wrestle this man. The fact that he’s still doing this at a high level at sixty years old is incredible. Wrestling a man like him, a man I idolises growing up, in Arena Mexico of all places, I couldn’t think of a better way to bookend my Mexico stay.

One more pause from Moriarty.

Lee Moriarty: I respect Blue Panther, but I won’t take it easy on him. After I win tonight, I’ll be setting my sights on Supercard Of Honor, the night where I become the longest reigning ROH Pure Champion of all time. Ya’ heard?

With another nod, the ROH Pure Champion leaves the scene, having gotten quite a bit off his chest…

The match is a competitive main event, but there isn’t much of a story to tell here. Moriarty is completely respectful, starting things off with a handshake before getting to work. Both men jostle to make the other use up their rope breaks, but Moriarty is more experienced in this match types and manages to get Panther their first.

As Panther adjusts and starts coming back, Moriarty snatches control back… AND DRILLS PANTHER WITH THE FANG!!!

MORIARTY MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Lee Moriarty via pinfall @ 11:06​

It was a tough title defence, but Lee Moriarty comes out the winner yet again. It’s the first match all night where a CMLL wrestler hasn’t got the win, but the fans still applaud the quality of match.

Moriarty celebrates with his title, until he notices Panther getting to his feet. Moriarty shakes his hand and allows the crowd to give Panther his due.

The legend then leaves, whilst Moriarty surprisingly stops celebrating, and grabs himself a mic.

Lee Moriarty: Before this match, I said that once I won, I’d be turning my attention to SuperCard of Honour and becoming the longest reigning Pure Champion in history…

He taps the belt draped over his shoulder to further emphasise his point.

Lee Moriarty: And now that’s EXACTLY what I’m gonna’ do.

The fans murmur, wondering where Moriarty is going with this.

Lee Moriarty: You see, I’m the champion, I call the shots, just like I got this match with Blue Panther tonight.

Slight cheer.

Lee Moriarty: Honestly though, I can’t think of anybody there is left for me to beat that deserves a shot at my Pure Championship.

Mixed reaction for the confidence/arrogance as the champ shrugs.

Lee Moriarty: And that leaves me with only one real option. You see, they say history repeats itself and it does, because I’ve done this before.

Another pause.

Lee Moriarty: Right now, I’m throwing out an open challenge. Anybody who wants to step up and challenge for this title at Supercard Of Honor, now’s your time to step up…

Moriarty pauses for a few moments, and the fans buzz in anticipation until…

***FUCKING IN THE BUSHES*** ​

Whoa. The Mexicans fans mark out, giving the LOUDEST ovation of the night as ROH legend, NIGEL MCGUINESS steps out. Dressed in a well-tailored suit, Nigel makes his way to the ring with a smirk on his face. After shaking hands with the fans and doing a lap of ringside, Nigel steps inside the squared circle. With a mic in hand, before Nigel can speak, a confused Moriarty steps in.

Lee Moriarty: Hold on, hold on. I’m a little confused. I know I said history repeats itself, but I think you’re taking that a little too literally.

Nigel smirks, knowing where this is going.

Lee Moriarty: You already answered my open challenge at Final Battle last year, and I beat your ass.

Negative reception for the champ now, as he waits for Nigel to respond.

Nigel McGuiness: You’re right.

The champ looks confused, but Nigel remains calm and composed.

Nigel McGuiness: You did beat me at Final Battle, but I learned a hell of a lot in the process.

Moriarty rolls his eyes.

Nigel McGuiness: You see, when it comes to professional wrestling, I’m the ultimate chess player. I’m a strategist, I’m like a computer, I take in all the algorithms, and I spit out a solution. At Final Battle, I took in all your algorithms, all your tells, your style, how you wrestle, and now I’m ready to exploit you.

Moriarty doesn’t agree but the fans do.

Nigel McGuiness: Not only that, but I keep hearing you bang on about how if you retain the Pure Championship at Supercard of Honour, you will become the longest reigning champion in history.

McGuiness pauses, pacing around the ring as he does so.

Nigel McGuiness: Well if you look at the history books, do you know who the current longest reigning champion is?

The champ shrugs carelessly.

Nigel McGuiness: It’s ME!!!

Huge pop.

Nigel McGuiness: And I quite like having that record and I don’t feel like seeing that record broken anytime soon.

Nigel shakes his head along with his words now.

Nigel McGuiness: So I’ll be damned if I’m just going to sit back and let somebody else hold my record in their hands.

Big pop from the fans as some intensity comes through from Nigel on that last line.

Nigel McGuiness: It’s as simple as that. You’ve got your title on the line; I’ve got my legacy on the line. I ACCEPT your open challenge, and I’ll be seeing you at Supercard Of Honour.

HUGE pop from the fans as The Englishman drops his mic. Moriarty does the same and the two meet in the centre of the ring, the Mexican fans going wild.

Nigel then puts his hand out, and Moriarty turns his head from side to side, surveying the arena… BEFORE ACCEPTING THE HANDSHAKE!

Lee looks to let go and break away… BUT NIGEL HOLDS ON AND PULLS HIM IN CLOSE!!!

The two go nose to nose, nostrils flaring, tempers rising, you can cut the tension with a knife. And with yet another match confirmed for Supercard Of Honour, an epic rematch at that, the show fades to black…
