The early 80s are wild... if I'd use the German Year-End 100 Singles for research, I wouldn't get far with nominating anything for BOTS, since it's right in the middle of the NDW movement (Neue Deutsche Welle = New German Wave... no, it doesn't have anything to do with Wave music). The top 20 singles of that year in Germany only had 5 songs in English in it, including the #1 of that year... but that song didn't even come close to do anything on the US market.

And I love the NDW... so with 1982 I basically have twice the bangers to enjoy, even though half of them I would never send in. (Unless there would be another "Foreign Language" round)
