So as many of us suspected, last night Batista made the announcement that he would be headed over to Smackdown. Obviously Smackdown is lacking in main event star power at the moment... however the addition of Batista really scares me.
They've done so much to built Punk over the past few months and he's turned out to be one of (if not THE) top heel in the company.
Last night on RAW Batista destroyed Orton like he was nothing, and we all know what happened the last time Punk and Batista faced off.
My worries are that...
1. Batista is going to plow right through Punk, destroying all the momentum he has right now.
2. Batista is finally going to make his heel turn and completely overshadow Punk.

So what do you guys think..what does Batista's move mean overall for the brand...and for the up and coming superstars on it?

Its good. At this point, CM Punk has not only shown he has been able to survive momentum killing defeats (Night of Champions says hello), but that he is going to get protected against the big names (Montreal Screwjob), so even if he gets defeated by Batista, it won't be that bad.

Also, the adding of Batista makes it more likely that Undertaker and Rey Mysterio, not being in the main event, find themselves in midcard programs, opening the chance for Taker vs Ziggler for example.

My thoughts....

What does it mean for SD? ...Some comparatively boring fueds, some shit promo's, some shit matches and one big dead-weight crybaby clogging up the title scene.

Somehow I think they'll protect Punk, realising he is probably the more valuable asset in the long-term, and I'd have thought WWE are just gonna rinse the last bit of drawing power out of Dave before he retires. Fair enough, i just don't wanna see him, PERIOD.

Seriously, defend him all you like (as some no doubt will), but when's the last time anyone thought "Hmmmmm.... I'd love to see 'wrestler X' against Batista"?

Cena pre-Aug 2008?

HHH pre-April 2005?

...And whats the very best things that peeps have been able to anticipate from him in since he faced Cena last year??? ...A heel turn so he can repeat the above two fueds.

I believe its a good move actually... Punk/Batista would be a GREAT feud, as long as they don't have Batista squash him every damn match

I think it is a terrible move. Batista had plenty left for RAW. Real fued with Cena. And then eventually HHH?. Punk, Batista is a simple Mismatch. Punk just hasn't got the quality imo to honestly contend. If it happened in a year, after they built Morrison and then did it, turned the Animal heel and they had some sort of fued. I'd be interested. right now, not at all.

I think the main reason for this is to take pressure off of Taker having to be in the main event. The question is... they've started this Punk/Taker feud and they obviously can't just dead it out of nowhere, so how are they going to finish it up without giving the title to Taker? Because I seriously don't think Batista is going to be content just chilling in the mid-card until then.

I understand why he has gone across to SD, But i think it's shit for the blue brand. I only hope that Punk does not suffer because Dave I want to ME and get the title Batista is back there. If Tista is gonna jump in a feud with Punk i really hope they protect Punk, And not let Tista bull dose his big body all over punk and Crush any momentum he has built up. I really dont wanna see Punk squashed by Tista at all. But on the other hand Punk could really cut some awesome promos on Big Dave's arse lol. I have to say I'm not really happy about the move but what choice did they really have. They need some ME face's over there. And taker cant really do the hard ME slog week in week out now.

I have no problem with a Punk/Batista feud because it's going to happen, there's absolutely no avoiding it.
There also needs to be some realism is the feud, I mean... let's face it...Batista is a hell of a lot bigger and stronger than Punk and should be booked as so. That doesn't mean he needs to crush him constantly. They proved in that Taker/Punk match that they can come up with pretty creative ways for Punk to go up against the bigger guys.
I honestly wouldn't expect too many clean wins for Punk as he is a heel... just so long as they continue to book him as he is. Willing to fight and throw down... but at the same time... lookin for the easy win.

Batista teaming up with Punk would be awesome tbh. (heel turn in the process somewhere).

I actually want to see another Batista/Punk match. Their match at The Bash last year was pretty good up until the finish.

I'm also hoping that this means we'll see Punk actually beating Taker at HIAC, and then feuding with The Animal after that.

^I'm calling some form of interfereance which will distract Taker from Punk.

This is horrible.

I see either Taker beating Punk at HIAC and then Batista challenging him, or, Batista returns and beats Punk for the title and faces Taker after a 3-Way HIAC or somethin. Either way Punk will most likely lose the title so Batista and Taker can feud while Punk drops down into a feud with Matt Hardy :smh

It's a good decision from the WWE to switch him over to Smackdown considering that brand is lacking in top stars. It makes sense to move him over there too considering he's a face and the current champ is a heel.

Please don't even think like that.
Besides, they said they brought Batista in to take weight off of Taker's shoulders since he can't work anywhere near a full schedule. So if anything Taker is going to be dropping down and Batista is going to be taking his place.
